Nobody blames the SLA for decisively finishing off VP’s murder machine for 30 years. The LTTE. There is no doubt SLA paid a hefty price as well in term of sacrifice.
We accept war is a very bloody affair. And that civilian casualties are inevitable.
However, outright denial of this kind of grave crimes is not going to serve Sri Lanka’s national interests. Nor will it deliver justice to victims of brutal Police or military violence.
This is the pinnacle of Sri Lanka’s traditions of torture and extra-judicial killings in custody, since 1948.
At Nanthikadal we finished off the LTTE. No apologies. Now we must finish off injustice on our island.
There is no doubt CH4 has an agenda. That we can deal with very easily by credibly investigating these alleged, serious crimes.
The absence of justice is repeat violence against victims in Sri Lanka. It is a blessing to Sri Lanka’s enemies. They are lining up promptly to feast on this video.

What is shown in the No Fire Zone is not something new. This was happening for decades when the world was a silent spectator. If not for the C4 even the UN would have gone to sleep.
Have you forgotten the rampages of the army following ambushes. They herd the civilians in to a library in Valvettithurai and bombed them all. Then the Navali bombing and several other air strikes on civilian targets. Army rampage in Jaffna after the LTTE killing the soldiers in 1983 are just a few to quote here.
LTTE is the product of the excesses of the Sri Lankan state. The reciprocated the brutality of the forces with their own brutalities.
Let us all thank the C4 for their role to expose the scale of the brutality behind the iron curtain. What C4 revealed is just drop in the ocean. There are untold stories of many more Issaipriyas and thousands of war victims

I believe CH4 has an agenda. However, they do fill a vaccuem for quality investigative journalism in Sri Lanka & else where. That is why “No Fire Zone” has traction. It reveals grave violations of law at the end of Ealam War IV. Though it totally lacks context.
SL Military & Police at the behest of corrupt politicians have been on the rampage since 1948. Against all citizens of SL. Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims. That is the real problem. That is what we must fix. What we saw at the end of the war was just the “Tip of the Iceberg” of their crimes since 1948.
LTTE is the product of the excesses of the Sri Lankan state. True to a great extent. However, it is also a product of extremely ethno-nationalistic, irresponsible, opportunistic & racist Tamil leaders as well. Who mislead Tamils people with false promises and a perverted version of “romantic” Tamil nationalism.
Of course, the racist Sinhalese elements catalysed the problem in turn, to the maximum.
Carnage at the end of Ealam War IV was the result.
It must never happen in our land again.

Tamil nationalists initially asked for only basic rights in the form of federalism. Unfortunately federalism was made a dirty word in the South and grossly equated with separatism which the early Tamil nationalists had vehemently opposed. It is this denial and denial of even rudimentary devolution topped up with discriminatory measures in education, university entrance, employment etc. just to mention a few that romanticised the nationalist fervour of the Tamils. One must look at the historical developments objectively and in the correct sequence of events.

Talk to hotel staff on the North East of Sri Lanka and they will tell you how NGO’s and other foreign staff sat around the pool and in their hotel rooms while supposedly actively doing work in the war areas. These people reported on hearsay and what people wanted them to report, and why would they want to end their luxurious travels and times in Sri Lanka? All a game for some, while innocent lives on both sides are taken.

Without us arguing and blaming every one why not Gotabaya Rajapaksa who was responsible for eliminating this 30year war, with his biographer Premachandra tell the worl what exactly happened on the last few days, when GR got the C-in-C MR and Army Commander Sarath Fonseka out from the country.
If he can give a very trustworthy answer with his knowledge at the war front GoSL can close all these accusations completely.

Simple! ex-soldiers are selling them all over, especially in areas around Puttalam, Chilaw, Kalpitiya, Negombo…..on some days you can them for hundreds of rupees but if you are a foreigner the price goes into the thousands. That’s the whole problem, we managed to keep the journalists and foreigners out but everyone else on the battlefield had mobiles and cameras. Now the whole world knows all about the dirty fighting. Anyway, fact is that both sides fought dirty at some time or another.

These soldiers who are selling these clips are the ones sacked by Gotabaya Rajapaksa (538 total) as supporters of the former Army ComanderSarath Fonseka as his lackeys, without any pension or salary. So the serving soldiers who took these clips handed over to these poor soldiers to get some money to feed the children’s. GR prevent these soldiers even to get a job to earn a living after fighting the LTTE for years. Former AC. Prevented soldiers to have mobile phones with capabilities to take photos to use in the front, but GR did otherwise.
Gotabaya allowed solders of Savendra Silvas brigade to take photographs for him to see the end of the war, from his Air Condition office in the MOD.
When you give a sharp object to fools they cut everyone, and all these clips exchange hands due to foolish GRs hatred to prove that he won the war, when heis not. GR should check how these clips are exchanging hands without allowing the IC to make their own decisions.
