By Ameer Ali –

Dr. Ameer Ali
A planned but scurrilous campaign launched by a policy bankrupt and squabbling opposition, frightened already by AKD’s measures taken so far to end the seventy-six years old corrupt political culture built on a communal platform, has once again forced President AKD to engage himself in an island wide counter campaign to convince voters to give his NPP coalition another comfortable victory at the forthcoming Local Government Elections. Contrary to the lies spread by the opposition and their social media the new government has accomplished quite a lot so far especially in reducing the cost of living but within limited by constraints set by the IMF. One should know now that cost of living is a pandemic affecting all economies.
However, while the national government engages in its epochal mission to transform the nature, substance and shape of the country’s politics, economy, and society that task could be made extremely hazardous and even be sabotaged by local governments in the hands of an opposition schooled in the old culture. A united focus between the centre and periphery is therefore essential at present. Thanks to an erratic President currently occupying the White House such a focus has become even more critical for the Sri Lankan economy to confront the gathering momentum of a global economic turbulence as warned by IMF economists.
From the time President AKD was elected and NPP Government came into power Muslim leaders in the opposition had left no stone unturned to tarnish the image of the new regime as anti-Muslim. From the absence of a Muslim minister in the cabinet through to compensation for Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s sacrilegious crime of cremating Covid-dead Muslims, and to the so-called “honeymooning” with Israel, Muslim politicians had been nit picking to turn Muslim voters against NPP at the forthcoming Local Government Elections (LGE). Those criticisms had been responded in earlier contributions to this journal.
But there is one issue that compels Muslim voters to show their confidence in AKD by supporting the coalition candidates at the forthcoming LGEs. Since that Easter carnage of April 21 2019 this community has been unjustly accused as one that incubates jihadism and jihadists and the bloody wounds inflicted by uncontrolled violence unleashed on Muslims after that infamy remain afresh even now. There are hundreds of innocent Muslims arrested on spurious charges linking to that bombing and languishing in jails without proper trials. Even recently, the arch anti-Muslim Patali Champika Ranawaka who called Sri Lankan Muslims “outsiders” and authored that racially emotive book in Sinhala titled Al Jihad Al Qaida, has warned that under AKD this country could become the epicentre of Jihadism, because of an MOU signed between the President and Indian Prime Minister. On the contrary, AKD has put under ninety-day detention and investigation a key player in the Easter massacre, which has caused panic waves among certain powerful personalities who so far had managed to hide their role in that tragedy. The outcome of this investigation should absolve the Muslim community from accusations heaped upon it by the real culprits. The community should therefore be patient and thankful to AKD for making this bold move. Doesn’t NPP deserve your votes at the LGE?
The post-1990 Muslim parties and their respective leaders who always play the religious card to capture Muslim votes had remained pathetically incompetent and gutless to demand justice to their community for the wrongs done by previous governments in which a few of these leaders held ministerial positions. Once again, they are out in the field now to capture the local councils, notably in the Eastern Province. Not surprisingly, they too are jittered by AKD’s anti-corruption drive.
The entire campaign of the opposition parties is centred on one issue only, and that is the failure of AKD to deliver his promises made during the Presidential and General Election campaigns. What those critics fail to understand is that those promises were individual items in a total package aimed at system change or paradigm shift. Each of those promises was a micro element in a macro project. The drive to end seventy-six years of a rotten system cannot be achieved overnight without creating chaos. Pragmatism is therefore the need of the day. This is the major difference between AKD’s reformist JVP and Rohana Wijeweera’s revolutionary JVP. For example, AKD’s decision to go along with the IMF and steady the economy before introducing market reforms is a reflexion of that pragmatism and maturity of thought. As a result, the economy has performed better than expected and won kudos from IMF, which has now approved the fourth tranche of EFF. An environment has thus been created for inflows of foreign investment and influx of tourists, a dire need to an economy bankrupted by the Rajapaksas. Resources have started flowing slowly into the agricultural sector by reactivating the neglected Paddy Marketing Board with guaranteed price scheme, and by raising fertilizer subsidy to farmers. A catalogue of what NPP has done over the last six months appears on yesterday’s issue of this journal.
Similarly, pragmatism is also needed in addressing the issue of ethnic reconciliation, which is part of the societal reforms needed to complete system change. The struggle facing the government in Colombo is to win the hearts and minds of Tamils living in the north and east of the country. True, lasting success is impossible without ethnic inclusiveness. But how could that success be possible by discriminatory policies and disproportionate fund allocation to Tamil areas? This discrimination has gone far too long and it is time to reverse this trend. One avenue to make that reversal smooth is to elect pro-government local councils. Elected members of such councils instead of acting as yes-men and yes-women to Colombo must be ones who are not only knowledgeable about the needs of their localities but also committed to utilise the funds allocated for development with responsibility and accountability. Until now just as a fish starts rotting from the head so also in government corruption pervaded right from the presidency down to the local councils. For once the country has a president and a government untarnished by corruption.
The forthcoming LGE is strategically important to accomplish the mission of system change. Will Muslim voters back this mission by supporting NPP candidates?
Jit / April 30, 2025
Dr Ali, as a learned person I believe you should stop branding voters as Muslim, Sinhala, Tamil or whoever. Voting patterns are dynamic and can change over time due to various social and political shifts, so it’s definitely inaccurate and oversimplifies things to suggest that any ethnic or religious group votes as a single bloc. When we talk about voting, we’re talking about individuals with their own complex reasons for choosing who they vote. People vote not only every Tom Dick and Harry but Gota Shanakya Thalatha Mahinda Thondaman Paulraj Ranil Anura ….a long list. There are so many different voting patterns even within a single minority ethnic group and their voting consent is not limited to one political party or ethnicity based candidates. Historically, it had been quite obvious that Muslims have voted Muslim Tamil or Sinhala parties and candidates. Same applies to all other ethnic groups too, so there is no rationale to brand a certain ethnic group as one ethnic ‘voter group’. You are not only tacitly supporting racist politics but skewing statistical data towards wrong interpretations!

Jit ,
” When we talk about voting , we are talking about individuals with
their own complex reasons for choosing who they vote . ” Beg to differ .
Not in all cases . About 80% in our country , it is a collective go . And in
local elections , you are possibly right but before the proportional voting
was introduced . Up until 1978 , local elections never had election rallies .
Even an M P of an electorate didn’t try to encourage voters to vote for his
team . Majority of candidates in local elections chose to stand
independent making it a personal reason for the voters to choose .
The situation is now upside down . The President goes all round the country
holding rallies and begging votes for his men . Why ? It is now a public
opinion poll . Like another Mini-Parliament election . What does it show ?
People have gone nuts or made to go nuts about the whole system which the
N P P came to change but keeps becoming part of it or worst .
/
Jit / May 2, 2025
You will really have a hard time to prove that 80%! Among many electoral systems in the world outside the traditional FPP system, we have OLPR method (Open List Proportional Representation) since late 70s, in which the voters are pushed to vote a political party than candidates. This was brought in by JRJ, who stupidly believed that the UNP was going to be the party that will attract the biggest vote block in any election based on voting patterns since Jathika Sabhawa, but only to be demolished by CBK’s landslide in 1994. Even in OLPR system, each voter decides to cast their ballot individually, not collectively as you imply. There could always be general agreement about political parties mong the voters but don’t take that as a ‘collective decision’. Eg. there are many families of which members vote for different political parties and people (manapa) for different reasons. It could be party’s policies, popularity of party leader, the candidates or voter’s socio economic base. Or totally carried away by myths and fallacies aired by local media and fake YT hero journos with rogue priests. A typical example was the drama of fake snakes released in Kelani river by Gota, Dilith gang to win the 2019 election!
/
whywhy / May 2, 2025
In party politics , it is block votes and that’s what I meant by
“collective .” They go in one direction at one time against or
in favour of most compelling reason put forward by the predictable
winning party . Ballots are issued to individuals and individuals
are normally with a party or floating . Even floating ones takes a
kind of common decision that leads to ones win or loss . How it all
works , we can go on and on with arguments and counter arguments
because it is politics and there’s nothing definite here in my knowledge.

People are driven by identity. It may not be good, but that has to be see in context.
Are people not branded as something by others and discriminated against on that basis?
Only the Left was inclusive to transcend ethnicity, but it could not withstand the communal wave for long.
So, let us work to eliminate the causes.of a phenomenon than curse the phenomenon itself.
/
Jit / May 2, 2025
SJ, I am not sold on the idea that voting pasterns of individuals are mostly based on their ethnic, religion or cast identity. However I agree that it is a popular idea. People actually go by many factors such as popularity of candidates, their pedigree/brand/reputation, socio economic base etc., But voters don’t necessarily base their decisions on their ethnic or whatever identity as a direct causal factor to vote. One popular myth in the last few decades was that Mangala got his solid voter base in Matara district because of his salagama cast. But after he crossed over to UNP while the tide shifted towards MR & the clan in 2010, Mangala lost a huge chunk of his voter base. Likewise, people change their voter patterns with so many different factors but not because of their ethnic or any other identities.

The newspapers we see give us a picture that favours criminals from the past. The JVP itself has a great deal to explain, but their performance as a government has much to commend in the face of a media that tries to protect those most responsible for the present state of the country.

NPP and Dr. Ameer Ali blames the past 77 years on other rulers but that should include JVP. Will the AKD/NPP accept that in the past we (JVP) also contributed to the past 77 years failure and we should extend our apologies. You cannot lie that our past history is clean and well. NPP should say that We also joined partnership with the racist politics. We have changed now and we hope others also will change and give up racism and we make a system that belongs to all. Dear Native,
.
When choosing their candidates, Sri Lankans generally don’t give a damn about the facts.
Voting for idiots is a genetic predisposition.
2024: AKD deyyo ( a man whose profie has nothing to prove that he is an able person other than a big liar)
2019 saw the rise of Gotabaya, a survivor who deserted from the army during the civil war.
Siriserna (MaRa’s term as his government’s health minister) in 2015.
2010: Despite the fact that it was obvious that MaRa had embezzled every last penny of the tsunami victims, he was still elected.
–
Even though it was obvious in 2005 that Rajapakhes were rascals, people still voted for him and helped him destroy this nation. Don’t exaggerate that his words led to eleminate terror. After being elected, every president ought to have fulfilled their responsibilities. That ought to be justification for grabbing and controlling others.

/
Rohan25 / May 3, 2025
Ajith just ignore this vindictive self-hating anti Tamil, who will always side with Sinhalese extremists/racist and South Indian origin fake Arab Islamic fundamentalists against his own people and twist the truth. For some reason he has some sort of grudge and hatred against his own people, especially the diaspora, as tried his best to remain in the UK but could not. He has also benefited immensely by and advanced his career by siding with Sinhalese racists and the Muslim minister Bathiudeen who deliberately damned the island’s Tamils, especially in the east.
/
Rohan25 / May 3, 2025
Everyone knows that standardisation was first brought to restrict the number of Tamil student entry to higher tertiary education, especially to prestigious science courses like medicine, dentistry, engineering Etc. It was not only done media vice (language vice) but within media, certain communities like Muslims students studying in the Tamil medium were not affected, and Tamil students studying in the Sinhalese Medium did not benefit from the standardisation process. They used to check the names of the students, whatever language medium they were studying before applying this process. The idea was to reduce the number of Tamil students and to increase the number of Sinhalese and Muslim students, with far lower marks and ability to these prestigious science courses, in whatever language they studied. Of course, with the Tamil students it was easy as around 98% studied in Tamil. Only around 2% either in English or Sinhalese (largely mixed parentage). Almost 100%of the Sinhalese students studied in Sinhalese. Muslims students were studying in all three medias. Tamil, Sinhalese and English. Depending on the region, economic status and what the parents wanted. This is why they were checking the names/ethnicity of the students, before applying standardisation as they did not want the Sinhalese or Muslims to be affected, just the Tamils not only studying in the Tamil medium but the few who taught they can escape and this and studied in the Sinhalese and English mediums.
/
Rohan25 / May 3, 2025
This man is fully aware of this truth but is deliberately twisting the truth. In many schools in Colombo, Kandy etc Tamil, Sinhalese and Muslims students studying in the same schools, sometimes in the same media and from similar economic conditions, even after getting the same results, were treated differently when it came to obtaining places. The Tamil students failed to obtain any places, but the Muslims and Sinhalese did and many times the Muslim and Tamil were studying in the same language media. Speaks volumes. This man as usual is lying. He will always defend his recent South Indian origin racist Sirima, the Bandaranaike family and the SLFP and that nasty anti Tamil Muslim minister Bathiudeen, who deliberately damned the island’s Tamils, especially in the east, than his own marginalised people, as he benefited from his betrayal. It is known fact he used to join well known fact that in order to advance his career, he used to join well known Sinhalese racist academics in the universities against his own fellow Tamil academics and even students. Just like the way he is doing here. The leopard does not change its spots.
/
Rohan25 / May 3, 2025
District wise regional basis was later brought in, in addition to standardisation, in order to further reduce the number of Tamil students from entering prestigious science courses in the universities. Standardisation had greatly reduced the number of Tamil students entering these courses and increased the number of Sinhalese and Muslim students entering these courses, as they now can enter them with far lower marks, than the Tamils. However, they were still not satisfied with the number of Tamil students, who were still entering these courses, despite standardisation. So, they hatched out this diabolical plot of not only having standardisation, but the Tamils had to face a further hurdle of district basis in order to restrict their numbers. This means getting over the hurdle of standardisation, the Tamils now will face a further hurdle of district basis. Their numbers will be restricted according to their population in each district. Obvious there were more Sinhalese majority districts, and as usual the Indian origin estate Tamils were counted like some sheep in the central provinces and other areas in order to boots the population for more Sinhalese and Muslims to enter from these areas.
/
Rohan25 / May 3, 2025
Yes, they knew that some less deserving Tamil students from rich families, from the Vanni and east, who sent their children to Colombo and Jaffna for their advance level studies will benefit and enter the universities, and like the way this diabolical man is now falsely stating, that Tamil from less privileged areas( sic) were given an opportunity to enter the university and they can use them, as propaganda, just like the way this man is now deliberately doing, they will drastically reduce the number of Tamil students entering university even further for these prestigious science courses, especially from huge population centres in Jaffna and Colombo , privileged or underprivileged. This was always their aim, and they achieved. A few rich privileged Tamil kids entering from sparsely populated Vanni and the east did not bother them, they had reduced the number of Tamils further and they can be used as propaganda, just like the way this opportunistic self-hating Tamil is doing, for the Sinhalese Buddhist establishment. In the east the district basis also further advanced and increased the number of Muslim students, with far lower marks, entering the university than the Tamils. For them standardisation and district basis were a win win.
/
Rohan25 / May 3, 2025
Kilinochchi was made a separate district from Jaffna due to its huge size, and it was far more rural underdeveloped compared to more urban Jaffna. However, the population in both districts are basically the same. I know this as my family(grandfather) owned around 400 acres of coconut estate in Pallai, now in Kilinochchi district at one time. As a small child I was very familiar with the area, as many times we used to go there to spend our school holidays. Now everything sold and family scattered everywhere around the world. Yes, Muslims in the eastern province are now doing far better than the Tamils now, as they obtain a lot of funds from the Arabian Gulf, all successive Sinhalese led governments from the time of independence, in order to create a wedge between the native Tamils and the Muslim Tamils, deliberately made the Muslims very powerful, especially nasty fundamentalist Muslim politicians from the east, especially during the Rajapakse regime. Tamils who are now being treated like third rates and fourth rates in their own land in the east. Just go to any Muslim predominating town in eastern Sri Lanka, especially in the Amparai coastal belt and see how well developed and prosperous it is, thanks to Gulf Arab money and government largesse, now go to the neighbouring Tamil native Tamil Hindu towns and villages and see how poor and neglected they are.

The Z-generation-led society of today has forgotten that colonial masters were preparing to leave by 1948 and that this country was a feudal stable at the time.

Mr. SJ made it abundantly evident that tenacity ought to be commended rather than overlooked. The previous rulers since 1948 have made some serious attempts, despite the fact that the country’s health status is comparable to that of Russia and its school literacy rate is over 95%. But the younger generations don’t care enough to look for information that is supported by facts.

It has to act fast to correct its own ways . What I meant by ” The US has

the consumers in the US are going to do it by adjusting their buying

The Muslims did not benefit from Standardization per se.
They did from the District Quota scheme which also benefitted Tamils from the Eastern province and the Vanni, and besides Kilinochci. The reason for the demand to make Kilinochchi a different district from Jaffna was based on that as well.
*
Your understanding of Tamils seems to be Jaffna Tamil upper caste elite. The Tamil community is bigger than that narrow circle.
*
Muslims have done better in post school education since late 1960s, thanks to the expansion of their school education. Today the MMVs of the Eastern Provnce have an impressive record of university admissions. The number of Muslim females in the Faculties of Engineering and Medicine is impressive, and they even fare better than males.

Your understanding of Sinhalese seems to be low caste SWRD family.
/
SJ / May 4, 2025
The point concerned standardization and the abuse of Muslims in that connection.
Do not try to escape from your dishonest views on Muslims.
*
As far as Tamil nationalism is concerned it was always about the interests of an upper class elite and it counted in the “lower castes” and the poor only as cannon fodder for the stupid war led by the LTTE.

“the new government has accomplished quite a lot so far especially in reducing the cost of living but within limited by constraints set by the IMF. One should know now that cost of living is a pandemic affecting all economies. “
So that’s the new line, is it? That the IMF is the villain who prevents the creation of Paradise on Earth. Who was taken for a ride? Was it the Public who believed all the grand promises of “System Change ” and stern negotiations with the IMF? Or were AKD &Co taken for a ride by the IMF? Didn’t they know before the election that “cost of living is a pandemic affecting all economies. ” ?
There is no need to pretend that the government has accomplished a lot. But, to its credit, it hasn’t made things worse. Already it shot itself in the foot by reducing electricity tariffs against IMF directives, and must find some excuse to raise them again, preferably without the help of monkeys.

Is it longer than the rule of AKD?
Since no other leader in that hellish nation has ever deceived this much the gallery to which you belong, AKD will have to face the consequences sooner rather than later.

We appreciate you sharing your true gender with us, Deepthi.
Because of the way you act in the CT forum, many of us were compelled to believe that you could be in between. You would have realized the seriousness of the threat we face if you had a brain the size of a needle head inside your head. The foolish majority that supported their election has been misled by all of the obvious lies. I believe that JVP bps and Sri Lankan media scammers planted the seeds for hatred to spread throughout the entire country. Ironically, in order to address social, political, and other issues in our society, AKD has also now resorted to speechless moments. They should act as rulers instead of continuing to tell lies.
They are the best in the world at openly lying. As the FM of the day boldly states, they performed miracles within six months of seizing power. I believed that people ought to be foolish.
But truths are found elsewhere. I believe that AKD-led groups would have been punished long ago if people had been more accustomed to the standards.

I was called to give evidence in a Disciplinary Hearing regarding a Colleagues alleged Racism, Aggressive Behaviour and disparaging remarks made towards my Indian Colleagues. The Offender was a white German right wing man, bordering on Fascist with Anger Management Problems.
I had a few run-ins with him myself, however despite his size and aggression I was quite capable of breaking his nose if necessary. None of this was brought to the Management’s attention as I prefer to solve these sort of problems by myself.
However in the case of his Racist Insults and Aggression towards our Indian Colleagues (Muslim and Hindu), he was dismissed from the Company.

Deepthi has no explanation for why she frequently criticizes former President RW while also promoting the current lying AKD. nOW It is becoming clear that annual economic growth will slow in the coming months. The target of achieving more than 5% annual growth by 2028 is rapidly fading. Last year, thanks to the former President, it was 5%. The World Bank has warned that this year’s figure will be around 3.5%. What happened to the growth rate if miracles continued to work as STUPID AKD claimed? And how will Sri Lanka begin paying its debts starting in 2028? It is becoming clear that it will again be labeled as “bankrupted”:

This woman (Desperate DS) is genuinely insane. She has no idea what her pen will ultimately write.
As the head of state of this nation full of idiots, the incumbent man vowed in front of his rally crowds that the former governor of CBSL, who is accused of committing the so-called bond scam, would be extradited as soon as AKD took office. But in the seven months since he took office, there have been no indications of AM’s potential extradition, let alone the other miracles he performed for the uncritical crowd at pre-election rallies.
–
Furthermore, experts were aware that Singapore and Sri Lanka had not signed an extradition treaty. Bugger trolled before the election, saying he would make it easy and get AM from Singapore as the first action of the new government. Stupid people like “Deepthi Silva or the like that behave like beasts in human disguises” were to be misled by all of these. The people would be in danger of becoming a “Greece” if the current opposition did not educate them about it. It took Greece twelve or more years to recover from its financial crisis. They must do it by any means necessary after the AKD’s deceptions caught the public off guard in the run-up to the PC elections.

Hello OC,
Nobody listens to you do they. I have followed your Comments/Fears about the Instability caused by Solar Panels in the Electrical Grid. The Engineers in Spain and Portugal have admitted that Solar is the cause of the Instability, however some are denying this as a Cause. Here’s a fairly balanced article https://www.bakerinstitute.org/research/iberian-peninsula-blackout-causes-consequences-and-challenges-ahead
Here is another more Technical Document https://eepublicdownloads.blob.core.windows.net/public-cdn-container/clean-documents/sdc-documents/231108_Project_Inertia_Phase_II_First_Report_FOR_PUBLICATION_clean.pdf
As you said before one Transformer failure (monkey or not) would not cause such a catastrophic failure.
In one place I worked in Mid Wales we had a 10 MW 11 kV Transformer fed by a Line crossing the River Severn. This was often hit by Swans (until the Electricity Board put warning discs on the Line), engaging the Reclosers, however they never caused any bigger outage.
Best regards
/
leelagemalli / May 3, 2025
Hello LS,
–
This is what I found in that regard.
.
How can these problems be mitigated?
Battery storage and other technologies such as super-capacitors and flywheels can substitute for traditional forms of inertia by providing capacity in the event of a sudden change in frequency. These can provide breathing space for the operator in times of shock.
–
So if large volumes of renewables are going to be loaded on to the grid, it needs to be properly designed and invested in.
–
Grids need to be resilient against blackouts but governments need to balance cost against risk, as disaster-proofing the grid is expensive. Electrical grids are interconnected across countries to lower the costs and increase reliability, but this can mean a problem in one area can cause a domino effect across the entire zone.
–
Prof Janusz Bialek of Imperial College London said: “The usual mechanism is of a fault causing tripping of a line, which causes overloading of another line leading to a trip, and hence leading to a domino effect propagating trips across a network. To prevent that happening, power utilities apply so-called (N-1) security criterion, meaning that a trip of a single element (transmission line or a power station) should not cause problems.
/
old codger / May 3, 2025
LS,
There are more mafias in this country than we imagine, and they aren’t limited to eggs, rice, used cars etc. Just a couple of days ago I saw a public hoarding which still claims: “Say goodbye to blackouts with our solar panels”.
/
SJ / May 3, 2025
LS
It is not solar power itself the problem, but that our power networks are not configured to deal with an emergency like a large dip in load. While steam power and nuclear power are more vulnerable to sudden changes than gas turbine or hydro electric power, the source can be centrally controlled to reduce output, unlike Solar power which has a very large number of feeders into the grid.
Centralizing control by auto-disconnecting feeders is a possibility. Pumped storage is another.
But all of it requires foresight and planning.
/
old codger / May 4, 2025
SJ,
Rooftop solar should never have been promoted without batteries and without the facility to be remotely controlled by the CEB dispatcher. Clueless governments are just as responsible as the cynically opportunistic salesmen who promised to zero our electricity bills.
It’s clear now that these incidents are happening in other countries too. Australia has decided to reduce its feed-in tariff, even though most Australian systems have batteries.
/
LankaScot / May 4, 2025
Hello OC,
This is a good Technical Book on “Smart Grids” and their Control –
“Advances in Smart Grid Power System … Editor Anuradha Tomar, Ritu Kandari 2020”
Back in the late 1980s the Company that I worked for produced High Voltage Transformers for Communication over the Grid HV Systems. I’m not sure if Sri Lanka uses such Systems. In some Countries they use the Grid to provide Broadband Distribution.
However most of these are in Countries with Deregulated Electrical Supply.
Maybe this could be the model for Sri Lanka https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Grid_(Great_Britain)
Does Sri Lanka have this system “In an emergency where the discrepancy between supply and demand is too great and the frequency drops too far (between 48.8 Hz down to 47.8 Hz) then the Low Frequency Demand Disconnection (LFDD) automatic cutouts progressively trigger and remove up to 60% of the customer load from the Supergrid to avoid blacking out the entire grid”?
https://www.nationalgrid.co.uk/downloads/4093/6-low-frequency-demand-disconnection.pdf
Back in the UK there are Various Local Electricity Companies, I was with EDF a French Company (who also provide Nuclear Power Station Management) that also supplied our Gas. Price was reasonable and never had any problems.
Percentage Renewable Energy UK now 41% https://www.cladcodecking.co.uk/blog/post/renewable-energy-percentage-uk
Best regards
/
LankaScot / May 4, 2025
Hello SJ,
AS you say it’s not just Solar but Renewable Sources like Wind Turbines, Tidal etc. anywhere that has dispersed sources feeding into the Grid.
The first thing that Sri Lanka needs is a Robust, Secure and Always Available Network for Controlling the Systems. For this you will need a combination of Solar, Wind and Grid Connected Power Systems that are Battery Backed up just like the UK Speed Camera Systems on the Motorways and Trunk Roads.
Maybe you know what is already in Place. Are you ready for some Post Retirement Employment? How many of the “Old Guard” are still involved in the Power Generation and Electrical Grid Management & Control. AI and whizkid Developers will not solve this problem.
I know just looking at our Local Infrastructure just how big the Problem is.
Best regards

In the interim, our desperate DS has accepted her gender. That is something I should be proud of. She would never be able to see it correctly aside from that. Because of this, she continues to discuss the alleged “bond scam of good governance government,” oblivious to the seriousness of the 323 containers that were released from COLOMBO harbor, some of which had “red labels hinting about hazardous items.”
And worst of all, Under the current leadership, the media is not vocal enough for the benefit of the country. They may still be traumatized by the murderous years of 1989–1992.
Overall, I believe that these types of scams and accidents are a thousand times more dangerous than the fictitious “bank robbery” that was staged to corner UNP.

I wouldn’t belittle the primates. NPPrs have gone beyond what is reasonable in their behavior. You could see it clearly if you watched some of the TV’s weekly discussion rounds.
Minister Lalkantha himself proclaims to the public that the majority of his colleagues are doing nothing and that he does not even know their names. Even if the mouth lies, the tongue does not, goes the saying.
I think they haven’t done anything since the first citizen, aside from lying a lot. The credibility of the JVPrs’ pre-election statements is no longer valid, so they have to train a select few in public settings to cover a big lie.

It is not surprising that Prof. Ass and (current writer) Dr. Ali believe that the government has accomplished a great deal as of today. They both inflated the abilities of “WEDABARI” aka Thambuthegama AKD deyyo, like siamese twins next to our Bandarawela man
For some reason, the dishonest president no longer feels embarrassed in front of the media and keeps lying.
Furthermore, a lot of the issues they inflated to deceive voters have since been reversed or they have said nothing about them. Their claim that they are not authetic is sincere. Their upbringing as impoverished kids is largely to blame for this. Since AKD’s pre-election exaggerations were all outright lies that no one else in the nation dared to say, he is the best example.
But, as the sun rises in the east, his tenure as president of this country cannot last that long. The way the jerk deflects attention from the previous government’s hard-earned success should make us all feel ashamed.

important for the System change ! For instance , Trustee appointment in a Mosque ?
A school prefect ? And at the end , No Opposition To Whatever They Are Into , Ideal
and Strategically Important Not To Fail System Change . People will soon realise
that Their System change is , The Bottle and Not The Wine . Muslims Must Understand
that For Them The System Has Beautifully Changed By Not Having Any Cabinet Minister
From Them .

WW, don’t you think that in order to uphold the standards, we should stop discussing communities within a single country? I’ve never heard Germans discuss their Turkish community as frequently as Sri Lankans are forced to discuss their Tamil, Muslim, and other communities.
–
I believe that the Western world should teach Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Culture, Religion, and Similar Things. Even if our initial goal is to create a healthy citizenry that will benefit our young generation’s future, as long as we continue to discuss and communicate about races, religions, and other topics, we may continue to diverge rather than converge.

L M ,
First line in your comment , my family already put that into practice
not by preaching but by practising since 1945 by sacrificing its wealth .
How I personally did it and still doing it is public knowledge in my
home town . That aside but our system in the country should change
for us to change our thinking patterns that finally shape our lives . For
that to happen , who do you think should take the lead ? Who takes the
lead to stop that happening ? Until such time one has to live with the
present reality . Your second line , in a nutshell , the same question , who
should take the lead ? And also , the cases of different races in different
parts of the West won’t match with the history of ours with different
cultures . Migration of the third world to the West and Travellers settling
down in countries like Srilanka is different . And now , Srilanka has
developed forces of different kinds including religious , to look at each other
with contempt and The Politics Add Fuel to this aggressive behaviour under
various pretexts . There doesn’t seem to have any concrete foundation that
will convince everyone that the country is anywhere near ” Come Together “
situation . Cabinets that had three or four Muslim ministers is , coming to Zero
while standing for Elimination of Race Based Politics by its champions .
Is this the way towards building a ” all as one ” society ? I do not trust them .

Kebara Pachaya has been known to publicly exact revenge on the former president.

The key security officer for the former president was fired and moved to another location. These are extremely harsh personal assaults. But it’s highly doubtful that the bugger could win. In many nations of our kind, this occurs when lower-ranking citizens take over as state leaders.
