Pāda Yātra Architect Basil ‘Falls Sick’, Is Hospitalised After Being Remanded

Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa who was remanded yesterday was admitted to the National Hospital for a sudden ‘medical check-up’ today. He was taken to the National Hospital from Welikada prison, where he is currently in remand custody.

Rajapaksa, who was arrested yesterday morning by the FCID was ordered to be remanded till August 1, for misappropriating state funds amounting to Rs. 33 million from the Divi Neguma Funds during the 2015 Presidential Election.

Rajapaksa’s out of the blue need for a medical check up comes amidst reports that he was planning to take part in a ‘Jana Satana’ Pada Yathra against the government. Incidentally, Rajapaksa is the main architect of the anti-government walk which is scheduled to take place later this month. The last time Rajapaksa was remanded, he got himself admitted to the National Hospital claiming he was sick.

Why the behaviours of the kind of high crminals become so

Arrest——> First to Remand prison —— ——> Then to Prison hospitals

      But

the very same criminals – when they are scot free.

nothing like the kind of health conditions – instead they work as powerful animators of the day – REMEMMBER PEOPLE

“Arrest——> First to Remand prison —— ——> Then to Prison hospitals”

        Some more to add

Prison hospital —-….Merchant Ward–..—–Doctors recommendation for Brain Surgery………………….Political Office in merchant ward………….Ambulance…….Bailout…….next hearing day…….September 2050………???

Basil will have to take tuition from Wimal Weerawansa’s brother Lal Weerawansa. This guy is in Meegoda Ayurveda hospital to take treatment for ailment in his Spinal code. This treatment will continue and no end. Now everybody can use the same tactic. It is shame that Weerawansa has not given that tactic to Musammil. 2.50 Boneless Deshapremeeyas.

Was there a man with brain so dense, who didn’t know months before, that the farcical dupe will follow this sequence?

    10 Stages of Faking

1.Relevant institutions to show they are still not dead, summon BR for an inquiry. 2.to show that prima facie is discovered, arrest. 3. to award a certificate of independence and fearlessness, remand. 4. At the drop of a prison hat, BR develops chest pain. 5. Fake sickness demands medical examination. 6. Mandatory hospitalization is prescribed by cronies, habituals accept and 5 star follows. 7. Bailable or not any R whatever the prefix is bailed out. 8. Sporting the handcuff as a high watermark of patriotism is now superseded by BRAVE speeches of innocence on routine release. 9. The speech holds the court implicitly in contempt. 10. The Patrician struts out and the Plebeians live overawed.

Good menu to gobble with relish and enough time for murky plotting.

The trick to get hospitalized is a cunning ploy by this crook and fraudster to have better access to his fellow rouges. The bugger should be thrown back in remand custody. The Rajapaksas helped by goons like Sajin de Vass Gonaa, Laith “Sil Redda” Weeratunga ,P B Jayasundera and Ajith Nivard Kabaraal ruined Sri Lanka. They must all be punished and put in jail

But Sri Lanka is known for its short memory and anything is possible. So it is Remand today and Bail or Hospital tommorow!!!When will get serious?

Cannot some doctor with guts call this bluff and declare there is nothing wrong with this coward and that he does not need hospitalisation?

The name RAJAPAKSE is mud in Sri Lanka politics. The fact that it cannot be got across to the public effectively enough, is the shame of the hour, as far as the Sirisena – Wickramasinghe government is concerned. Had the roles been reversed, MR would have capitalised with such intent and to such good effect that both his protagonists would have been by now banished into political wilderness till their dying day.

That is if he spared them the incarceration that he normally reserves for his political foes. This is highly unlikely.

Anyway, not only has this crook allegedly robbed us, he now robs us of legitimate tax money and a valued bed in the general hospital for a bogus illness, while a deserving person suffering genuine illness will be denied his chance.

What a mockery all this is!! Cannot the government appoint a proper doctor to give a ruling??

DOCTORs that treat this man should be subjected to inspection.

Each time after being taken to custody, him to become sick should be a new form of rarely known syndrome.

Please authorities, arrest all the othe rmen close this high criminal including his wife and daughter who is said to have been running luxury life in the US on the grabbed funds taken from the tax payers funds.

Basil will be in the Hospital until the next hearing day. He is suffering from “Etapitis” decease according to very reliable information “Paada Yaathra” Organizers. This decease will come up the Movement he is charged with “Misappropriation of Public Funds” by FCID. It will be very serious until he get the bail from the court and he will have to use an Ambulance to come to Courts.

“Paada Yaathra” organizers should think again why they selected such a sick person to lead this “Gotha Yathra”

“What would have been the amount paid to prison medical officer?”

Possibly 10 or 15 percent of all the hidden (stolen) monies during the Rajafucksha rule !

Meanwhile, a father of three, unable to feed his family, was beaten up senseless last nihgt, in a Police cell. Somewhere in Sri Lanka. For stealing a few cocounts to help feed his starving family.

What is going on is nothing, but a total disgrace to any sense of Justice.

Ben, I totally agree. This is a thunderous shame. I will begin to switch off the TV each time the President or the Prime Minister begins to lecture anybody on good governance…..

No more confidence in them both…… unfortunately.

Yes, all these few weeks he has never been sick, but to become that sick immediately after being taken to custody should be unbelievable. These are new trends BMJ to be busy with … I think this high criminal should be observed round the clock to study better.

Damn right Ben… My opinion to the prison authorities, please do not allow mobile phones and also adhere to the rule – 1 visit per day per prisoner!!! Maybe should be fed a hefty dose of Viagra and chained to the bed when they next fall sick….

Basil should be checked if he is really sick or not… and if not, sentenced for fooling the Law!!!!

What a farce!. This guy should not be allowed to mock the system. The doctor who orders him to be hospitalized should be hauled in front of a judge. If these crooks are given such privileges other inmates also be hospitalized. Then we can ask all the (real)patients in the hospitals to go to the prison.

I don’t understand such hue and cry over basil’s hospitalization. The man is ill ( may be mentally), so needs treatment. He has not gone abroad. Please let him be.

Basil needs some strong medication from falling sick every time when he was arrested. This cunning, shroud bugger should have given a morphine shot soon after the arrest to keep him steady. Will that work in that way??

well..when he gets remanded so many times and let off again, can’t blame him for finding a loophole in the system to make himself comfortable now can you? it would have been another story if he was convicted. But can you blame him for not wanting to suffer every time he gets remanded? I’m not a fan of Basil. just saying what the government does with his cases are just drama. This is no big deal

    Raizuh Langai.

    Your line….

The doctor who orders him to be hospitalised should be hauled in front of a judge…

What if the Judge also plays ball? Do we keel-haul him?

This form of disease is called “skipping the prison” syndrome, usually only privileged white collar rogues contract. Way to go “Yahapalanaya”, remember this is the only chance you will get!!!!

Only Chance? Poor voters have no chance at all. It is either RW/MS or MR/GR/BR etc, who else is on the voting papers. Both sides equally cheat the public, promotes corruption and protects the fallen sides architects and vultures on the principle of scratching mutual backs. So voters have no choice at all. SLFP or UNP leaders are equally guilty for perpetuating this charade of voter deception.

That leaves either we vote JVP (remember their methods in 1971 and 1980s, massacres of innocent people who did not accept their methods) or TNA. I wonder if I should support TNA, or another ogre like VP, so that tehy could liberate the Sinhala and Muslim people from their wicked political leaders. At least the latter had shown how to get things done once his mind had been set to liberate their people.

Corruption and scratching one another’s backs I believe is a typical Sri Lankan trade mark, indelible from the system unless we could find a leader like the late Lee Kwan of Singapore, who could eradicate from the system and Sri Lankan mentality. I keep dreaming for such a person’s appearance in Sri Lanka, but know that it won’t be in my lifetime.

Arresting by FCID and then remanding within 24 hours falling sick Luxury merchants ward with FLAT SCREEN LED TV, AIR CONDITIONING, SPRING MATTRESS, Balinese and Thai massage,FOOD FROM 5 STAR HOTELS INCLUDING ALA CARTE MENU frequent visits by Shadow Cabinet ministers and henchmen and then Bailing.

Please Sira and Ranil kindly stop this farce PEOPLE ARE GETTING FED UP WITH YAHAPALANAYA. Their should be a limit for anything and everything.

Why is that when it comes to Rajapaksas VVIP treatment. War Hero Sarath Fonseka was tortured mentally and physically including his whole family and just think what would have happened in case Sira had lost.

This is what happens when there are devious
deal makers in the same government. One sect
wants to arrest and another sect wants to
    go soft.

When then Gen Fonseka was arrested, he was NOT
allowed to go for private medical treatment.

But when Basil is remanded, the very next day
he is in Colombo National Hospital. Basil sure
has some very influential friends within the
    Government. Even Maithripala Sirisena appears
    helpless.

Why did they use the Rajapaksa corruption and
bribery during the election campaigns? Only to
let them go scott free after that? At least until
one powerful man is there in the government,
    nothing will happen.

Time for civil society to take action against this doctor by getting an opinion from another qualified independent doctor on this criminal’s faked illness. This prick is used to lying and deceit and has done this several time previously when remanded. We would like to know what the ailment is, is this privilege accorded to other prisoners, and how much has the doctor who certified his illness received from the Rajapakse crooks. The doctors telephone calls made before and after the vermin was remanded must be checked and investigated by the police. If the crook has been found faking his illness his remand period must be extended, asked to wash the toilets of the prisoners and given the dirtiest mat with lice and bugs to sleep on.

This is treatricks of yahapalana government. People of this country expect Basil & his nephew Namal to be handed from their testicles for the crimes committed against the state.
