Parliament Passes No Confidence Motion Against Fake PM Mahinda Rajapaksa

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya confirmed the No Confidence Motion against Mahinda Rajapksa and his purported government was passed in Parliament.

The motion was presented by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and was taken up for a vote when Parliament convened this morning. the UNP, the JVP, the TNA, the TPA, the SLMC and the ACMC voted in favour of the No-Confidence Motion.

The UPFA did not take part in the vote and vehemently protested the No Confidence process. Mahinda Rajapaksa walked out of the chamber soon after the NCM motion was moved.

Following the vote in Parliament, all MPs representing the UNP, the TNA, the JVP, the SLMC and the ACMC signed a motion to the Speaker reconfirming their position on the No Confidence Vote.

Through the motion, the majority of MPs confirmed that they did not have confidence in the purported Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his government.

Colombo Telegraph learns that 122 MPs have signed the No Confidence Motion against Rajapaksa, claiming Wickremesinghe was the legitimate Prime Minister in the country. Apart from MPs of the opposition parties, Manusha Nanayakkara, Piyasena Gamage, A.H.M. Fowzie, Wasantah Senanayake and Vadivel Suresh also supported Wickremesinghe.

The MPs who crossover to the UNP from the Sirisena-Rajapaksa alliance said they would immediately resign from their current government portfolios..

If anybody to throw into jail, it should be the President.

The UPFA claimed they had the majority in Parliament. So why did they not vote but run away with their tails between their legs. Bloody cowards.

We always believed that the truths will succeed.

Ballige putha rajapakshe and his thieves never deserved to return to power.

All those respected democracy would celebrate today ‘s greatest success in lanken parliamentary democracy.

We SALUTE all the judges incl. CJ NP to have made this possible. We the lankens pro democracy

Now those who proactively worked for buying MPs of opposition on huge sums should immediately be jailed.

Rajapkshes shouuld be arrested immediatedly and continue the investigation in a speedy manner.

The stand of FAKE Prime Minster Rajapkashe as of 14 Nov 2018:

      1) He is no longer SLFPer

      2) He is now in Pohottuwa member

      3) He should be investigted for all the high crimes he committed in his high days and during the last 2 weeks

      4) His men will have to be punished for PROACTIVE provable actions regarding buying Opposition MPs – which is a high crime that is connected with atleast 7 year jail session

      5) Ballige putha Rajakshe and his men should have to join hand with LEGITIMATE government to IMPEACH Sirisen with 150 votes tomorrow or in the day sot come.

      6) Then the SIRISENA s real DISSMISSAL WILL be the reality.

Let the people take a piece of CAKE against the Fake PM. This does not mean that Ranil is accepted as PM. Let him honorably resign and give way to a more acceptable person.

Fake? Oh, please give me a break.
First of all he is not fake. If he is fake, there won’t be an NCM against him.
The Speaker and the Parliament has recognized that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the Prime Minister who was appointed legally. That is huge, though he was defeated through an NCM.
I am glad to see that what I said from the beginning that MR’s appointment was legal is now endorsed by the Parliament.

Champa that was not a NCM, an NCM has a set procedure, to hand over the petition, set a date for the debate, then the debate and finally a vote.

No need for a NCM against a cardboard cabinet

And a another thing if MR government is voted out in a NCM , parliament has to be dissolved, again

Nope. It was the case before 19A. This Parliament is fixed for 4 1/2 years. Only way to dissolve it is by passing a Resolution by 2/3 majority.

“Fake? Oh, please give me a break. First of all he is not fake. If he is fake, there won’t be an NCM against him”.
      .
Champa, you may have a point there. The problem is that you and the lynch mob are talking about two dafren dafren things. They are talking about his PM post, while you are talking about those round things that you see around his wrist and the more important ones that you may not have seen. The lynch mob knows nothing about the hidden ones. Strong and experienced women like Nicolo, Soma and Threse are known to have fainted just by the sight of them.
      .
If you still do not agree with me, just look at the picture of the duo at the top. What do you think Ooru Sira is showing by his spread arms?

      Champa,

what is wrong with you ? i think so as SIRISENA, you too should be brain sick right ?

You sounded different yestreday, but again your question here, that Rajaakshes PM position is fake or not ?

May gosh ? Why you guys cant behave normal ?

See, Sriisena has fallen on his swode and now being unable to face it.

I always believe that the truths will corner both men the way sooner than later.

I DONT mind Ranil or anyone else from UNP to take over, but it should happen in accordance with a system.

Just because some unedcuated buggers became swollen notbeing able to respect the norms, we should feel like they brought a new govt.
See, the govt SIRISENA gona made lasted just 2 weeks. Who paid all these ? Poor tax payers funds.
All these bastards should be destryoned by an unexpected disaster. That can then bring a greater relief.

If you have forgotten, I said from the very beginning that MR’s appointment was legal while RW’s removal is illegal.
I stand by what I said, what is right.

          Champa, What you say is
          .
          1) Appointment of MR is legal
          2) Removal of RW is illegal.
          .
Thus you want two PM’s to be in charge? There may be certain things which are more useful and enjoyable if they come in a pair. Thus 2 eyes make stereo vision possible and 2 ears make stereo sound possible and enjoyable.
          .

There may be other duos who would be much more wonderful than in singles, like the Aloka/Nicolo duo. But two PM’s is not one of them. Think again.

The Bus: Champa, if you still don’t understand read this. We had this bus running along, in a leisurely manner, like a kota – kota gatana private bus. The destination board said ‘Utopia’ but no one had any idea where it was going, least of all the driver. The driver seemed to dream in the night and then implement the dream in the morning. He assured the passengers that they will be taken to their ever-changing destination by 20:20 and later changed it to 20:30.
      .
Suddenly another bus came along and its Wrestler like driver, whose driving license had expired, tried to push away the old driver and take over the wheel. The old driver had to let go the wheel, but held on precariously to the seat.
      .
Someone had to do something and the conductor, speaking a lot, but acting firmly as well, pushed away the rogue driver most unceremoniously, giving him a good kick in the butt for good measure. The old driver is back in full control. The passengers are happy, thinking ‘better late than never’. You see Champa, someone has to hold the wheel, otherwise the bus would careen wildly, killing the passengers as well other road users, like in the movie Speed 2. That is what the old driver and the incessantly speaking conductor did.

All I can say is thank you for the bravery of the following that ensured the hijacking of the parliament did not take place and democracy prevailed. Thank you speaker, election commission and the JVP, TNA,UNP etc alliance. I’m just thankful that lawless bandit government was not allowed to form government. The President and ex President should be ashamed of their behaviour and I’m certainly no fan of RW.

Patholaya said before “Mama Yanawanam Yanne gini thiyagenai” That is true, he just did that. No more SLFP, he destroyed SLFP. Pohottuwa also now in trouble. Namal Rajapaksha must make sure that he should not visit FCID with running short with swollen head. Mahinda Rajapaksha also should learn not to deal with a born liar. Now Govt. has to expedite cases against corrupt Politicians and Govt officials if they want to come to power again.

It is time voters tried JVP because major parties are falling over each other to prove they are all utterly dishonest. If voters have any brains they will forget the past and take a bold step or in the alternative continue with chaos forever.

Wish the people would consign pretty much the whole lot of current parliamentarians into the dustbin and start afresh with an unknown but honest younger generation…but such people need to come forward for that to work…will anyone bother to?

    • 1

What is of most significance is that the JVP presented the motion of no confidence and the TNA, UNP, TPA. SLMC, and the ACMC all voted whole heartedly for the said motion cutting across the language, racial and religious divides.
That has given a new birth to the JVP to play a leading role in fostering Democracy, Social justice, and the Rule Of Law in our island nation. Will it get the message?
The Sri Lankan Judiciary stands tall as a beacon of hope for all the wronged and oppressed peoples of our nation.

In early days of the crisis AKD was going to sit on the fence, claiming that he would not support the Ranil Government.
Now that Dr Mahida has been defeated let AKD bring another no confidence motion against Ranil.

Don’t you think Hopper Sirisena should consider his position which seems clearly untenable. But then we are talking about self respecting humans.

VERY UNFAIR: The way this great hero who saved the country has been kicked out is highly unfair and disappointing. It is not in his nature to be so careless and act in that way, which has now turned out to be a big miscalculation on his part. It must be that Appa eating Ooru Sira who is behind this. All this drama must have been scripted by Sira and Ranil to get rid of MR.
    .
May the Satharavaram Devas protect Mahinda and his companions!
    .
Sorry, I forgot to add God of Kataragama. May he also help in the task!
    .
Oh yeah I forgot again. Those balls. I don’t mean those balls, silly. I mean the ball thing he wears around his wrist – what is it? Who gave him that? Instead of having the beneficial effect that MR was expecting, it may have had an ill-effect.
    .
Poor Mahinda, despite appearances is just like a frightened child. He pisses in his sleep and has to sleep with someone. Even then he gets up screaming. He is a disturbed and scared person. It is people like that who make great dictators.
    .
Mahinda, please throw that stupid thing away and listen to Dhamma Chakka Pavattana Sutta before you sleep. I mean the version with light classical music in the background. While making you sleep well, it may even enlighten you. (Aloko Udapadi)

This is a very good lesson for all Sri Lankans who love this nation. Be it from what ever economic, political, racial or religious background, the lesson we learn is the true nature of the morons we have elected to represent us was in full display. This is what we have been paying for by trillions of rupees which we can not afford. In the mayhem these morons dropped their cloaks and we saw their nakedness in broad daylight. This is how our country has been ruled ever since we know. Creating political, military and civil wars between us citizens on a regular basis, for their advantage at all times. All citizens now have a moral responsibility to make sure we learn this lesson well so we stop electing morons. We have been part of the problem. Start fixing the problem from within us if not, stop complaining and accept the new norm.

Thank God, SL once again was brought together by all concerned stake holders to a amicable solution. The stand-off between executive and legislature has been intervened by judiciary and brought to a temporary halt without much bloodshed. The political chicanery demonstrated by President warrants his deposing not just the President but the Executive Presidency. Even after 19th Amendment, knowingly he made a statement of fact, that Presidency has been reduced to ceremonial presidency and had acted usurping the power of the parliament. For this reason, and breaching Presidential office and the constitution he took oath on to abide by, and all other havoc he wreaked on the country including bringing the legislature into disrepute, he must be impeached. As Prime-minister, Speaker or any other appointee can act for President until the term ends or sooner, a Westminster Parliamentary model system can be followed and the 19th-A ceremonial President until we steady the ship.
The new parliamentarians can gain some credibility if only they distanced themselves from the Presidential Constitution and empower people at large through participatory democracy. We do not want to elect autocrats and authoritarians of no credentials to exploit, misappropriate funds allocated for people, claim moneys in the false names for staffs, and get fat at subsidised parliamentary luxury exclusive “canteens” and tax free cars. Peoples representatives work is not a “job” for making money for parasites, sycophants and boot-lickers. This parliament had more illiterates hardly with any visionaries than ever in history talking extremisms and nonsense. These power-hungry fellows assume these positions are here for life and for their families. When Rajapakses talk of family rule, they seemed to have learn NO LESSONS FROM THEIR PAST MISTAKES.

    Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse,
    .
You might not be as educated as few others in the parliament, but I personally believe that you are the most capable and suitable leader compared to other seniors today. It is unfortunate to see that you let other selfish lot to use you for 2nd time achieving their personal whims, agendas and hidden-agendas.
    .
True, that Yahapalanaya govt did not do much, but during the past few dramatic weeks, I learned that MS-RW govt seems to have diminished that “corrupt mindset” to a certain level that MPs horse-trading ending in failure, an independently working judiciary and more politicians talking about democracy

I think MR should start thinking clearly and take this opportunity to build up his own party and throw all the idiots advising him to go with MS and other Apathyas trying to hang on to him for their own survival and resign from PM post and use all the avenues to go for a new election at least by 2019 – MS is an spent force and had bathed in shit he is just surviving because of the constitutional provisions – by embracing him MR dirtying himself already people had started to call you an idiot for shaking hand with this spent force – when people are waiting to give you the country on a plate – why are you trying to save a leech and ruin that chance ?????? – what for ?????? – MR – don’t you remember what was this bu… calling you after 2015?? now you do not worry — MS says he is having lots of “Thurumpu” – let the Id.. play his thurumpu and cut his own grave – We will soon see him struggling and begging help from all the sundries to pull him out of Political dust bin
