PBJ Quizzed By SIU For Giving Money To LTTE

Former Secretary of the Treasury, P.B. Jayasundera was today questioned by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) .

PB Jayasundera

PB Jayasundera

It was reported that he is being questioned regarding the financial misappropriation case against Tiran Alles where a company chaired by him and established to reconstruct houses for Tsunami affected families has been charged with misappropriating state funds.

According to the Police, the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA) Company has been established under the Chairmanship of Alles who is also the proprietor of Mawbima newspaper, to engage in the construction of houses for Tsunami affected individuals in the East Coast.

The company had obtained a total of Rs. 645 million from the Treasury with the approval of the Presidential Secretariat for this purpose but no houses had been constructed so far. Meanwhile the Police confirmed that the funds collected by the company were credited to Oomps textiles Ltd. – another fake company formed by three individuals identified as Shanthi Kumar, Gajan Kumar and their mother Anandi Shanthi Kumar. The Court had been informed on April 7, 2015 that through this company and two other bogus companies, a total of Rs. 125 million has been misappropriated. It was also mentioned that the State funds paid to Oomps Textiles Ltd. had been taken over by Alles and former LTTE-er Emil Kanthan.

I have no doubts money was given to LTTE from state coffers not once but twice or more & weapons given to them by state, not only by MR but by others as well.

Further LTTE was able to import weapons through Colombo port, not once but more than that

We have been hearing about these allegations and others for months now. Where is the action. No action talk only (NATO).

I can appreciate the impatience Mithra. But there is no legal case settled in months anywhere in history unless the charges were accepted settled out of court in some cases. Legal process takes years. Only way selected cases can be settled out of court is by Jungle law. May be that the Jarapassa and the goons need to be given the Jungle law justice provided un-refuted evidence exist

Arrests will only be made based on the a certain well-established legal principle in Sri Lanka. It is called political expediency.

AG is not independent. Nor are Police or BC.

What we witness is a cheap, stage-managed show for the stupid public.

    Cheers!

PS: By the way, what happened to infamous private sector deal-makers (Deal Karayo). Such as Sumal, nimal, Dhammika Perera, Dilith Jayaweera, Asanga Seneviratne etc. Perhaps, under cover of darkness, they have crept back into their true home. The corrupt UNP.

The FCID has done its work and it is now a Judicial matter. The AGs Dept has to overhauled by the Ministerconcerned and may be a Special Court may have to be
estblished? The parliamentary select committee might have a look in due course.

‘PBJ Quizzed By SIU For Giving Money To LTTE”. Why only PBJ ? PBJ, the then Secretary to the Treasury/Ministry of Finance, could not have given the money to the LTTE without the knowledge and blessings of the then Minister of Finance, Mahinda Rajapakse. Hence Mahinda Rajapakse should also be quizzed by SIU.

It has been established that Premadasa, in his stupidity or misguided short term vision, funded the LTTE, apparently to get rid of the Indian army, considered a bigger threat than the LTTE. It was not only ironic but a joke at the expense of SL, yet nobody spoke about it. Now it is beginning to reveal that the very saviour of SL & Buddhism, as believed by the masses, had under the table associations with terrorists. It’s time these allegations are investigated & those responsible, at least, named & shamed if found guilty. The true colours of MR, whether he was indeed a true son of the soil or a villain, opportunist, or even actually a traitor (his dealings with the enemy in time of war is very much an act of treason)should be brought to light.

well said Sir.Let MR be invesigated and if found guilty be named and shamed and if found innocent be venerated as the man who saved the nation. This can only be done by by a national gov.t composed of opponents and supporers of MR.Let us ,including the politicians be fair.

This man PBJ who was debarred from holding public office by a Supreme Court Order previously, was violated by MR by reappointing him as Sec. to the Treasury. Where is Law and Order? Should not he be charged for contravening the Court Order.

Believe me, patience of all Law abiding citizens are fast running out, at the mockery of good Governance.

Many people will be questioned. A few will be charged. All will be released. Lack of evidence no? What to do men?

Bring back MR and his cronies. Every corruption, nepotism, murder, war crimes, .. would be legal. Then the people do not have to kick up a big fuss. They will accept it as business as usual. Probably they will feel contented, happy and glorify the strong man who is capable of running the trains on time.

No strikes nor protests under an elected dictatorship. Life will be hunky dory.

MR was always a loser. He could have never beaten RW in 2005 without the support of Prabakaran.

He was an illegitimate President without a real mandate from the people.
