It is really sad the mother had to lose her child. It is one thing to lose a child in an auto accident. Another to lose to a state army bullet.
It is the Monk-Politician Axis at Play, SWRD power was Monk-Politician hegemony as well. Think about the thousands killed in 1958, 1983 and the 30 year war and the JVP uprisings of 1071 and 1987-1989. How many mothers, fathers and children?

So, the Buddhist Monks played a crucial role, post independence, guided by Monk Mahanama Myths, and some did participate in the riots of 1958, and one Monk did kill the prime minister SWRD, whose forefathers were Hindu, Buddhist, Catholic, Dutch Protestant, Anglican Protestant and Finally Monk Mahanama Buddhists to grab power.
People are disposable.
People are serfs, and they exist to serve the Monk-Ruler Hegemony.

Spot on! SLFP was founded on Nationalism and monks were exploited to hold the axis of power around some people who were not concerned about the consequences of doing so. Perhaps they knew that core principles of Buddhism would die down if monks are dragged into politics, and didn’t give a damn about it. Rajapaksas are a symbol of that exploitation of religion to hold onto power. On their way, they create phantom enemies, and the ignorant people just get trapped! Sad! Above, I wanted people to reflect upon what happens to them themselves when the country is ruled based on fake Nationalism.

There was no cause for civilians to be chased and assaulted.

Our Ranaviruwas will even kill their own mother for money and rank(Promotions) as in the case of police officers who commit all kinds of crimes on behalf of the MARAs family for their own benifit.At the Weliweriya massacure the number of dead was more than ten according to reports.Only three bodies were handed to parents or relatives but the rest were distroyed on the orders of the TOPs to suppress the information and also to prevent people,s rivalry against the regime according to another report.It is very important to have a real independent inquiry on the matter and to punish the culprits without considering their status and positions etc.But this would not take place in a country like us.But the dissatisfaction and the opposition of people against the regime is gradually developping up.The serious problem is that not having a real leadership that could consolidate all these opposition forces and to work towards changing the family ruling of the country which is distructive and even dangerous to the people.
