By Colombo Telegraph –
Activist Vishaka Tillekaratne and Dr Sujatha Gamage wrote eye-witness accounts into the Colombo Telegraph saying that the pole-wielding pro-impeachment protestors brandished implements and used abusive language to try and prevent them from reaching the Lawyers’ Collective protest. Their reports said that the police had stood nearby while the crowd to threaten and intimidate them but did not attempt to intervene.

no words to express my disgust !!!!!

Sri Lanka is being ruled by a corrupt family that will stop at nothing. Worse than Mubaraks of Egypt. Only a full revolution by the people will throw the corrupt Rajapassa family into a jail.

Since these pictures are clear and identification of the thugs possible they should be arrested along with their mentors who is in any case a murder suspect – Mervin Silva – who as seen lurking behind the scene at Hulftsdorf’s yesterday.

How come the pictures and stories that you saw and heard from the top journalists from BBC & IANS about Vanni did not “speak a million words and tell a story that is frightening” to you???????????……………..the king of humbug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
/
Dr.Rajasingham Narendran / January 10, 2013
No. It did not, because it was a brutal war fought by two sides. There were hence two sides to the story and only one side of the story was being peddled. The likes of you were also determined to ‘ Hear and talk’ of only one side of the story. I met and heard from the best witnesses- the war victims on the battle ground- directly and believe them more. I also have seen enough of LTTE I photographs and videos concocted by the LTTE, not to believe anything that is purported to come out from the war scene.
Trying to connect different stories and circumstances to make your case and calling others names, will not change realities.
Dr.Rajasingham Narendran.

This is the way President Mahinda Rajapakse plan to rule the country for the next many number of decades. He brought all the notorious thugs from hambantota to Colombo and gave them houses and jobs…..with many working on illicit unsociable activities that have spread across Sri Lanka.
With Parliament under President’s control, and now planning to take Judiciary also under him WILL MAKE SRI LANKA AN ABSOLUTE HELL ON EARTH.
It’s time internatinnal community come to rescue Sri Lankan Citizen from Mahinda Rajapakse Dictatorial Anarchy.
/
Uthungan / January 10, 2013
It is pathetic to expect the international community to come to our rescue when we created the mess ourselves.
If we cannot clear the shit which is now up piled up to the celing no one else will bother to help if we like to wallow in it.

Sri Lanka Police work only if they are given Kappan (Bribes) and hora Kasippu bottles.
I saw to my eyes how in Moratuwa Police station….Police constables all drinking and smelling Kasippu and also behaving fully drunk…three of them while on duty around 6.30 PM.
That’s why they prefer to work as TRAFFIC COPS AS THEY CAN EASILY EARN RUPEES 20,000 IN A DAY.
THE MOST HIGHEST CORRUPTION AND BRIBES ARE TAKING PLAE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
I TELL YOU THE TRUTH …..ON ONE POYA DAY MY FRIEND AND I WENT TO POLICE HEADQUARTERS (Havellock park) AND GOT A BOTTLE OF KASIPPU FROM HIS POLICE FRIEND WHO GAVE IT FROM THE BOX IN HIS ROOM.
So that’s why they are inactive……as without Bribes and Kappan…..they don’t work.
This is the true state of police department.

Sometimes you have to face these thugs and fight fire with fire. These are the politics of the gutter. Thats why RP needs a constitution or courts just to legitimise his criminal actions. If you dont stand your ground you stand to lose all your rights and wealth.

We should also get to the streets with Mervyn ‘the saviour’ Silva with iron rods and abuse everyone and hit a few. After all, other than us, everyone is trying to either Muslim Expansionism or Tamil Terrorism. No – we don’t Sinhala people either. All decent Sinhala people are working with Tamils to divide the Country. Just imagine – when the Leaders of the Country can allow the thugs to do this, what they would have when the Tamils were in the receiving end!
/
Piranha / January 10, 2013
This is a taster of what is to come in Sri lanka after the judiciary is made a puppet of the Rajapaksa regime. This is what happens when you give power to an uneducated village thug!
For the tamils in the north and east of Sri Lanka this type of government sponsored assault on anyone who opposes the regime is a daily occurrence. The perpetrators are the military and government paramilitaries. People in the south have been simply ignoring it. Now the same treatment is being meted out to them by the regime.
You have a choice – either be brave enough to find a way to eliminate the “family” or just accept your fate and live with it.

Wuliangguobinjiu / January 10, 2013
Late 80’s and early 90’s the Nepali public beheaded several police officers and paraded the heads on vegetable carts all across the country and the King relinquished his powers.
I won’t be too surprised if some of these policemen are in fact monks.
Sri Lanka has a long road to go beyond the Black July of 83 which again came from the south.

The pictures themselves reflect the face of MR and Company. What a shame to Sri Lanka and Buddha’s teachings. Lord Buddha weeps. Inefficient Police unable to control the unruly crowd. What a waste of public money on these goons. Tourists will have a good look at it and how convicted accuseds (including the accused who murdered a tourist at Tangalle) were released. Hurray for the plunderers. Insurance companies will be facing heavy losses and country will face a unprecedented inflation of Sri Lanka Rupees. Will harsh punishments for accused committing crimes against humanity, be of any advantage to the public when the President is about to release them according to his Mahinda Chintana.
/
The Professional / January 11, 2013
Where is Bodu Bala Sena? Why Mahanayakas are silent on the issue of goon squads?
The Christians, Muslims and the Hindus are silent because they can tell the world that this is proof of behaviour of the Government accused of violating human rights. Whether it is the PA, UPFA and the UNP, goon squads interprets the rule of law and it is proved beyond doubts in those pictures that such interpretation is the current guide for law enforcement by the Police and the Armed Forces of Sri Lanka.
/

And trust me Citizen, the is a Muslim Conspiracy backed by the Arab oil money and the poor Sinhala Buddhists are all victims. Perhaps the police officers have been bribed not to protect the people by Muslim Businessmen, and the goons were from Wellawatte & Maradana supplied by Rauf Hakeem?

Is the police helping the protesters or the goons??
The illiterate Nepalese the most successful tacit of all by beheading the policemen and the police in turn forced to relinquish powers. Fighting goons who hate the corrupt police is a long road.

Senguttuvan / January 10, 2013
This is what I meant when I recently wrote the regime is unlikely to hand over and leave without bloodshed. That is the culture of W. Dahanayaka and to a lesser extent Ranil W. The image of the country is in shambles. The system of law and order is the last line of defence in our wobbling democratic order. What we see here is the re-emergence of July 1983 pogrom against innocent and wealthy Tamils in the main towns in the South – hordes of drunk, drugged, menacing-looking two-legged savages with wooden poles, iron rods. The same scenario where the Police appears blissfully unconcerned. The controllers of these mobs, like in 7/83, are well entrenched in the higher portals of the regime. This is law of the jungle.
The Govt responds by hinting their “good work” is sabotaged by the “enemies of the State” The usual suspects are invoked – 2 foreign Govts, the NGOs, the diaspora and what not. It is curious the Govt does not mention Ranil and the UNP here.

This is just the begining. Civil war is just round the corner. What happens when an uneducated thug becomes a president whose interest is to create a dynasty of similar uneducated thugs to rule the country for the next 100-years. Prabhakaran come back, you are forgiven. We have a worse orge in charge of Sri Lanka, its ominous.

All was lost when the 18th amendment was approved by this same CJ and her court,in 24 hours.
In other countries, far reaching changes to the constitution are debated for weeks & months before being taken up in parliament.
She could have asked for more time.
Most of the MPs & even the speaker were not aware of the details.
When TNA’s Sumanthiran tried to show this in parliament,he was drowned in a chorus of “kottiya”.
Enlightenment dawned on CJ & her court only when the Divineguma came up.
Does the CJ deserve this treatment she brought upon herself by her hurried appoval of the 18th amendment?
The southerners are now getting a taste of what the notherners have endured upto now.
Will Gota send the police and the goons for rehabilitation?
