Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said the newly elected administration should ensure that political ethics are preserved and maintained.
He made this statement today in Kandy when he visited the Dalada Maligawa and met with the Malwathu and Agiri Mahanayake theras.
“Generations in my family have engaged in politics but it is for the first time that my house was searched yesterday. If there were illegal goods it would have been okay but there was nothing. . . Therefore, political ethics should be protected,” he said.
He had also expressed concern over post-election violence and said it should be the priority of the new administration to put a stop to such harassment.
“Innocent civilians used their vote with a certain confidence and for that, they should not be harassed. This is not what I expected. . .” he had stated adding that despite his defeat, he would always represent the aspirations and expectations of his voters.

Political ETHICS? If he had won PRESIDENT Maithripala Sirisena, Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero & the rest would have all been jailed or worse killed.
Ps – Does a coup come under Political Ethics?

Exactly this nature of MR paved his goons to ruin the nation.
In Germany, few years ago, President had to resign for a transacation that he is alleged to have made prior to entering his office. There all the evidence were colllected by visiting the place where president stayed to the moment. So what is wrong with police go on checking ? Regardless of the status, law and order should be in action – this you could have introduced to the war torn nation, instead of being intoxicated by POWER.

His “political ethics” means, one politician should
scratch the back of the other which he introduced
and maintained by buying opposition MPs in bulk and
hoodwinked the voters that he’s more popular than
other leaders. We saw his “political ethics” in
action against SF.Mervyn vs MARA tv debate must be
organized so that his lecture on ethics can be seen
live.

At the time late Anura Bandaraanayake was then attacked rpeatedly by his admniistration. He should be very happy with the move of current regime – PM has been telling everything supportedly to him as the former Prez, giving all the respect even going beyond all levels. Ane ane,, this man is making every effort to twist the vulnerable masses who are his voter base

May be you should look up the meaning of FRUGAL in a dictionary. Having residences in Seychelles, allegedly selling illgotten gold to make money, using the national airline at his beck and call. luxury and sports cars for his offsprings, royal ponies for Namal Hussein, possibly banking enormous amounts of srilankan money in swiss banks illegally, do not add up to the word FRUGAL.

/
nanda / January 20, 2015
Rajapakse is nothing more than another citizen and if there is any plausible information received about violation of law by him. then he should be treated equally like any other citizen of this country and he cannot expect any unequal treatment. However, if any of his rights guaranteed by law is breached, unlike his days, he can expect justice under the new administration.

will come back on him if he traveled by land! And

politicians must protect a fellow politician regardless
of what they do with their responsibilities.Joker!

Unfortunately a president has immunity. However his brothers-with-US-passports can be prosecuted based on findings of the UN investigation due in 2015.
But this government should do proper inquiry – this does not fit into the 100 day program so Sirisena should make a clear statement that these investigations will be moved to the annual program. First evidence should be collected systematically. Raiding a few houses doesn’t help to find billions transferred to tax havens.
Meanwhile the Lanka newspapers report about a mysterious (but antique wooden propellored!) plane, a mediocre racing car.
Wake up Lankans! You’re clearly looking into the wrong places – even Mahinda and Namal say so!

Both MR and Gota have repeatedly claimed that this is a law abiding country, and any complaints should be taken to the proper channels, the Police, the guardian of law.
MR and Gota (plus GLP, Dayan de Silva, etxc) have repeated this mantra over-and-over again in countless cases of complaints of thuggry, intimidation, abuse, torture, rape, murder, and what have you, during the eight years of their regime.
So, Gota, MR, why not practice what you preach — and stop whinning like school girls (with due apologies to school girls!)

I am sure when you wne to kandy your close servants must have paid people to visit. People must be having psychic power to know that exact this time you will be in temple.
First when you left Araliya Gaha Mandiriya there was RS 1500million in cash. The cars you bought from our tax payer money to keep your ass and your families stinking asses comfortable are missing. You tried to stay in power illegally after you lost. You ecnouraged to put your stinking pandals all over the country before the election. You have robbed and mishandleed billions in us dollars. Youo treated treasury like your personal account. You took revenge not only Sarath fonseka everyone who went against you. Some are still in jail. And if you were elected we all know what will happen to mairthri pala champkia rajitha. Anawys we want to investigate all the malpractices done not only by you and our close associated but the whole society. And JUDICIARY is responsible for penalizing if found guilty. NOT THE POLOTICOS. If you have done the right governance, you can still be the president. But you choose to rule with the iron fist. Intern your fist turned against you. Hope your astrologer will give you blessings once again for bad luck. Stop crying now and face the song that you made most of our citizens to sing.
Still greedy for power.

What you did to Sarath Fonseka must be the political ethics your father taught you. What about the killings of political opponents, free media persons like Lasantha, harassment of those like Frederica Janze who spoke against your pariah family’s criminal rein? Did you think the day would dawn when you have to go back to wearing your loin cloth you village bum? All this time you did not hear the people’s plea for justice and you told the world that everything was hunky-dory here and those complaining were just slinging mud at you. You bastard corrupted every nook and cranny of our society and are you now trying to wriggle out by appealing to the mahanayakes?

It is very laughable when the previous regime talks about ethics. The whole world knows as to how the rights of the ordinary citizens were tampered during his time. How was General Fonseka, the man who fought the battle from the front, treated after elections in 2010? Would they have spared Maithree in case they had won by hook or crook? How can they complain when the police carry out their duties?

Why are you rushing tp Asgiriya and Malawatta.
You have your Cheap Justice still on. You are a Lawyer, Your Son is a Lawyer with 100% marks at theLaw exam.
It will not cost you a cent to defend yourself and prosecute the offenders. You can appear for yourselves. Surely you have all the time to defend your self at Aluthkade Courts.
I am sure by now you, your brother and members of your family has by now realized how people felt when they fled through Nandikadal in 2009. God now made you realize how nice of you to have taken from the beggers bowl after tsunami.
God made you leave all the Gold and Money and leave Temple Trees with only the cloths you wore on that day.
Sure you had Gold and Money Stashed elsewhere too.
Please remember no one takes any thing with him on his final Journey.
Better for you to get into a saforon robe and cleanse Buddhism ( Sri Lanka Version). Forget your RC baptism.

Dear Ex President,
Under your leadership, this country hit the highest point in terms of corruption. And don’t play your We defeated the terrorist card again cos I am certain people wanted development.
Your Family and those around you plundered this country of its resources and whatever wealth it had left after the war. And skeletons are beginning to come out of the closet.
Before your talk and ask about ethics, Imagine had you won on Jan 9, the chances are that many a good men who put their lives on the line for the sake of this country and to defeat you would have been jailed or killed.
You talk about ethics, wherein your own brothers have escaped to save their hides. Unfortunately as the leader of the band its your turn to face the music….. of the people.

REAL Sri Lankan / January 20, 2015
MR is a person who has everything hidden. He has small amount of money in different names in a lot of branches in Sri Lanka so no one will suspect. I know this I saw in a coffee table in his house. His sons have 3 or 4 sports cars and they are extremely rich. I know this personally since I am one of his childhood friends they show off all the time. We used to go on trips a lot , he stays in any hotel for free, eats at any shop for free, no one usually asks us for money because they are scared. Even though we were his friends we were always scared to fight or say something because chichi gets angry. He is a crazy person who fights with everyone and if anyone tries to say something they will get punched by his security guards. Once someone made a comment about his Lady’s college girlfriend and chichi sent about 15 STFs to that rich business person’s son and later we heard that person was in hospital, now he is in Aussie. There are so many things he has done I can’t think top of my head right now. Oh by the way, Namal, chichi and other brother, all became attorney at law in one day within one hour. I went with him, within one hour he brought a certificate declaring that he is attorney at law by supreme court. I think most of the lawyers in that area know about this, because a lot of the lawyers and judges saw us while we were waiting outside the room.
I know a lot of you guys might argue with me about this but I promise you this is the truth. Please don’t fight with me I just wanted to let it out of my head when I read the bullshit his dad was saying in Kandy. I personally think UNP supporters should not take law into their own hands but must make awareness about how dangerous MR is to the public.

Nepotism, Robbing, misusing public / state resources, getting government employees to do canvassing, rigging votes, computer gilmart! . Or planning a coup and causing bloodshed????

His very attitude of claiming that his house has been searched after
knowing very well how he ditched Temple Trees early morning, leaving
behind his wealth locked in rooms, shows what a way-out criminal minded
man he is. His mental attitude will change once he faces the Court and
be cross-examined in public of his henious crimes spread over 9 years.
Within a week so many finds that surprises his supporters but he is
confident that he will move back into main-stream politics, He may,

They won’t have to come searching your residences again.
