Pope Francis called on world leaders attending the G20 summit in Russia to seek peace in Syria through diplomatic means and to lay aside the “futile pursuit” of a military solution.
In a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is hosting the G20 summit, Francis said that lopsided global interests have blocked a diplomatic course in the Syrian conflict and have led to the “senseless massacre” of innocent people.
“To the leaders present, to each and every one, I make a heartfelt appeal for them to help find ways to overcome the conflicting positions and to lay aside the futile pursuit of a military solution,” Francis wrote.
The letter follows an announcement earlier this week that the Vatican will host a vigil for peace in Syria in St. Peter’s Square on Saturday.

Putin called Obama Secretary of State John Kerry a liar over Kerry’s testimony this week before Congress.
The question may be al-Qaeda’s influence on the Syrian rebels, an issue Kerry has downplayed.
Speaking to his human rights council Wednesday, Putin said, “This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them (the Americans), and we assume they are decent people, but he is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad.”
Putin has criticized Obama administration claims that Bashar Assad’s government attacked the rebels with chemical weapons.
Last month, Obama canceled a summit meeting with Putin after a series of U.S.-Russian disputes, including Russia’s decision to grant asylum to National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden.

Russia publishes 100-page report proving rebels’ involvement in chemical attack

McClatchy website published information saying that Russia handed over a large 100-page report to the United Nations in July. The report supposedly proved that it was the Syrian rebels who used sarin gas in Aleppo in March.
The announcement of this, according to the website, was published Wednesday on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. UN spokesman Farhan Haq confirmed the receipt of the report, which has not been made public yet.
On Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry provided additional evidence to prove that chemical weapons were used by Islamist insurgents. The evidence referred to the report by Rusia al-Yaum channel. Correspondents of the channel talked to Mother Agnes Mariam el-Salib, who served in the monastery of St. James in Qara, Syria.

2. However, generally lies are associated with certain nationalities. In Sri Lanka, most Politicians lie from top to bottom. most Monks lie from top to bottom, and misinterpret the Tipitaka. The average citizen and average citizen is more honorable than any of the above.
