President Asked Me To Tender An Apology In Exchange Of Cabinet Position: Sarath Fonseka

Former Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said the President had asked him to tender an apology in order to get a Cabinet portfolio.

Fonseka

Fonseka. Addressing a UNP meeting in the Mawanella area, said he would never apologize to the President for a ministerial portfolio.

A harsh critique of President Mathripala Sirisena, Fonseka’s name was axed by the President at the eleventh hour when appointing new Cabinet ministers on Thursday. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe nominated Fonseka to be appointed the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wild Life.

“When Rajapaksa put me in jail he wanted to me to apologise in exchange of release. I refused to comply. I was offered millions of rupees for a mere apology, but I never changed my position. Do you think I will tender an apology today in order to get a ministerial position? ” Fonseka asked.

He also hit out at the allegations connecting him to an alleged conspiracy to kill President Sirisena. “That is all bunkum. I have conspired to kill only one person and that is Velupillai Prabhakaran.”

      Hon. Field Marshall Sarah Fonseka,

      Thank you, Sir.

Absolutely there is no reason for you to apologize to the Traitor Sirisena, who committed crimes against the nation by taking unlawful, unconstitutional actions.

The Supreme Court has unanimously confirmed that.

It is the Traitor, Sevalaya, Mala-Perethaya, Patholaya, Pachaya who must apologize to the People and the Parliament for the unconditional crime.

Sirisena must be impeached song with the Co-conspirators.

Sarath Fonseka is a straight-shooter …….. like him or not that’s what he is!

Many soldiers who have looked death in the face in battle are like that.

Leave deception and doublespeak to “soldiers” who have hidden under beds and make their appearance magically at the opportune moments.

“Failure is an orphan; success has many fathers.” :))

        Ah! Lankans!

Merry X’mas to all of you!

Field Marshal Fonseka is the most honest Law maker in today parliament. He is a politician of rarity. Media run by rajapakshe apologists spread lies about him on and on so that the message would tarnish his image. His great sacrifices made to win the war, should not be comparable to those of anyone in this country. Black media will never be successful in that. We need the kind of more men in Parliament, if lanken democracy to be functioned properly. We see there are enough men and women that would do anything for their selfish gains. But Mr Fonseka is real sinhalaya and only hero of that kind, would NOT bend down his head before an idiot whose direct mediation took this country backwars in that 52 -day conspiracy.
Besides, like his leaderhsip liberated the country form brutal LTTERs, his wholehearted efforts would undoubtedly bring a sustainable solution to the ELEPHANT-HUMAN confict areas which the people have been neglected for last 2 decades.

It’s always mentioned by Sinhalese as “ Real Sinhalaya “ etc to self glorification of Sinhala race. I have respect for field marshal but I object this kind of self glorification of a single race in a multi ethnic country. This is due to fake historians abs clergies who mis interpreted and taught fanatic stories to innocent people . A Jew will not say a “ Rela Jew” or a “ Tamil will never say “ A real Tamil” . This is seen only seen in majority community of this country. We should change this culture to impart enthusiasts harmony

Yes you Anandasivam Sivapriyanmay be right, but forgive me if I hurt you my expressions, but what i meant above it nothing else, that he would not second ot any lives. I WAS APPALLED BY reading the statements made by stupid president on SF. That was looking back an overreaction from my side.

Yes, we should all be very careful wording about our races here, I am really sorry once again, I am more into one nation not to races. I have done whatever I could name us as SRILANKEN than sinhalese.
I also respect late Mr Kadirgamar and his style of politics and diplomacy. I dont need to go into details about his yeo man services done standing against TERROR and terror then applied on buddhists within the country.

Yes, we are no real sinhalaya, but we can be real SRILANKEN, but going by new dimension, not promoting racism and xenophia as is the case in Southern soils and also nother soils. Also not forgetting eastern soils of the country. We are the all the same whose blood vessels transport home sapien blood not any other blood sorts.

It is high time to arerst that Namal Kumara the informant of CID who has been made a figure to the media these days. That man alone to have started a mud slinging campaign against FM – Sarath Fonseka is a greater question to us all. Can anyone so irresponsiblily add remarks on an assasination plot of country’ s president ?
This should not be taken as a joke – that is against hte citizen civil rights in this country.
If low levels statments can be made for the entertainment of a group of politicians on the cost of a great hero, that should be condemned by all various groups that stand against injustice in this country.

President Sirisena grew up in the enviornment of Mahinda Chinthanai which is how to exploite the situation in favour of him and his family. Cheating, Bribing (buying & selling), Creating Fake dramas, revenge taking etcc are their hall marks. We people fall in the trap of this Sirisena drama in 2015. Sarath Fonseka should have known well Sirisena as he served under him. Next one year we going to see so much of this because he is going to be in power until next year unless impeached. UNP is not ready for an election now because they need some time to reform themselves and improving the living standard of the people. LikE Mahinda Rajapakse they have to announce show cases in the Buddhist Temples.

What a President who knows nothing but to fall even deeper. ?

How can this man Sirisena ever faces the life tomorrow ?

      1. He himself mastered an unconstitutional dissmissal of COUNTRY#S prime minister, not bieng able to respect the 19th Amendment got passed by direct mediation of the president himself. Meaning he should have been well studied the AMENDMENT and as to why the amendement was brought into the constitution.

      2. Then to allow his controversal men to buy expected NUMBER of MPs from the opposition, he prorogued the paliamentary sessions

      3. As Rajakshes found difficulties in buying the MPs as expected before, Sirisena himself dissolved the parliament but telling the world if had not done so, things would have ended up with the unexpected riots between ruling and the opposition.
This was totally unconstitutional going by 19th Amendment, but he did it…

      4. And Sirisena himself did not find all the vandalistic acts directly sponsored by Rajakshe and his son in the parliament on the 14th Nov as acts that entire world shoould condemen… in contrary, he further accused the UNP led pro democracy groups not having respect parlimentary traditions.

      5. Now with COUNTRY s highest courts verdict against him, he had to appoint Mr Wickramasinghe as the PM, meaing CONSTITUTIONALLY ruling president has violated the constitution, even if he had then sworn, that he would RESPECT the country ‘s constitution.

BY TODAY; THIS BUGGER SIRISENA SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED his post as a president.

      6. Now he keeps ministries unconstitutionally under him, just becaause he finds it is complianance with presidential responsibilities.

      7. WHOARE HIS ADVISER ? I dont think a person with SOME knowlege would be advising this bugger president….. jeopardizing it further,.. he may well be hearing his own all along…. and most ridiculous acts are.. him to seek APOLOGIEs from candidates of SARATH FONSEKA nature.

      8. This bugger has become a LAUGHTER stock to entire world, damaging lanken democracy, for which entire world had a greater respect sofar.

      1. Yes, call a spade a spade is not everyone #s nature in lanken politics, but SF former victorious army commander has the balls to react bold. There we salute you sir.. you are unique to your honesty and rigorous performance; there are passive masses in this country that would wholeheartedly respect you. That you deserve always for a YEOMAN who has sacrificed that much for this nation
      2. Why you have to go through all the unexpected, even while Harin Fernando and few other former minister who mostly made all derogatory public statements against so called president be already offered their due positions and yours to be blocked further, is connected with servility of Sirisena to Rajapakshes. Rajakashes are behind this moves no doubt about that.
      3. Alone that Informant NAMAL KUMARA to be scot free while carrying on his silly public statements are also illegal and protected by those men
      4. Going by Sirisena’s actions, since he would not keep his word looking back all the recent estranged behaviours, we can also expect the unexpected being his next step – appointing SF even as the minister for law and order. If that would be the case, Sirisena too would earn some respect from the nation BECAUSE that fearless act would UNDOUBTEDLY turn a new page in lanken systems in the line of law and order

Thrisu is back to his kind of abusive language again.
I highly respect SF and lanken forces for having fought the war to end. And we are indebted to SF that much. It was the coutrys black media painted the picture in favour of ballige putha Rajakshe. But entire world became clear how stupid the bugger should have been, going by the recent pit he was fallen in…. now it is even clearer .. glass like.. that ballige putha Rajakshear are nothign but power intoxicated as nothing can reverse them.

This ballige putha Thrisu or the like would further be thinking it was Rajkaashe but nobody else liberated the country from LTTE terror.

The kind of thinking would never be away from the kind of assholes even if they have been calling themselves so called BUDDHISTs.

      “Great personality!”

      Not so fast!!!
      First he is public racist
Excerpts from his old interview with National Post (Canada):

“In the general’s view, the war is driven by Tamils who want a homeland and have chosen Sri Lanka as the place. But he says the country’s ethnic Sinhalese majority will never allow the ethnic Tamil minority to break the island apart.”

“I strongly believe that this country belongs to the Sinhalese but there are minority communities and we treat them like our people,” he says.
“We being the majority of the country, 75%, we will never give in and we have the right to protect this country.
“We are also a strong nation … They can live in this country with us. But they must not try to, under the pretext of being a minority, demand undue things.”

Stewart Bell, National Post · Sept. 22, 2008

He hasn’t answered many questions in the past and will not in the future.
Did he meet Prabaharan when he was alive?
Did he actually win the war single handedly?
Where is the list of names of those who surrendered to armed forces?
Why did the armed forces refuse to publish the list?
In his estimate how many innocent members of civilians died in the last one year of the war and between 1982 and 2015?
Why do the armed forces/state still keep many in custody?
Is he prepared to publish a dossier of war crimes he happened know/witness during and after the war had ended?
Will he now provide the details of help or war related support this island actually received from Hindia, USA, Europe, Pakistan, China, Russia, ……………..above all from Thiruvengadam Vellupillai Prabaharan?

        Native Vedda:
Thank you for that typically incisive contribution to this discussion.
While there is, certainly, a great deal to be admired in the matter of Fonseka’s personal physical bravery, there is as great a need :to be objective about the man and his strengths and weaknesses.
One matter that has never been satisfactorily explained/resolved is his connection, if any, to the execution of the late Lasantha Wickremetunge. It is not too late for this to be cleared up even now.

Also his role in search and destroy operations carried out by a team of six Lt Colonels between 1987 and 1991 under the guidance/direction of a British Defence Attache (sorry I can’t remember his name) was not openly discussed.
The team included Dr Gota and Janaka Perera who lead the team.

He also promised to disclose facts behind final days of war implying Gota had violated human rights as well as committed war crimes. He never disclosed anything with evidence and I am still awaiting to update my database.

          Happy secular holidays.

I am still puzzled as to how two Colonels in Sri Lankan armed forces managed to win US Visa lottery and both still continue to enjoy US citizenship or revoked visa restrictions while equally vile ret DIG Premadasa Udugampola was refused US visa to visit his family.

In return what did US benefit from them either in Sri Lanka or USA?

I do not think SF is any different from other Lankan politicians , but I do believe the General over the double talking MS. Even if SF asked for pardon MR would have seen him in prison because MR ,s criminal mind will not settle for anything less. (anticipatory threats from SF).MR would have got the apology just to show the Lankans how good he is and still seen SF incarcerated on made up charges. . Where as MS is so childish he would have been happy with cheep thrills.

He can be accused of having problems of style and quantity of what he says. He had difficulties differentiating between an all-out assault and a conversation. But there should be no doubt that what he says, in his belief, is nothing but the truth.

President Sirisena re-gained a measure of the respect that I had for him, owing to his forthright speech to all the Senior UNPers, and Prof. Maithri Wickremasinghe, after he had sworn Ranil in, as Prime Minister. We have seen only 40 minutes or so of it on Colombo Telegraph, and then the video panned to the UNPers leaving sheepishly. Even viewers on Rupavahini had seen only that much.
    .
Over-all, Sirisena gained as a result of his explaining to us. He will gain even more if he stops being churlish with regard to General (let me stick to that title – but not in an attempt to bring him down) Sarath Fonseka.
    .
Why have we not been shown the entirety of President Sirisena’s speech, which amounted to an address to the Nation. It commenced very well indeed.
    .
As the speech wore on, I felt that Sirsena’s limitations were exposed. I don’t approve of his stubborn refusal to investigate allegations against the forces, his paranoia about assassination, or his interference with the Judiciary. The views expressed by Sinhala_Man per se are not important, but Sirisena is also the President. It is better that we hear all that he said, rather than to hypocritically hide some of it.
    .
I have immensely more respect for General Sarath Fonseka now, than I had when I chose not to vote for him (or for Rajapaksa) in 2010. He is right not to apologise.
    .
Dear President Maithripala Sirisena, I can speak only for myself. Please act with greater courage. It will add dignity to the stands you have taken with regard to UNP performance. .
    .
You have become a significant person in our country. Let History judge you.

      @Sinhala_Man

What is your beef with Prof. Maithri Wickramasinghe? Sure, you can hate Ranil Wickramasinghe for whatever political differences, but your hatred of Prof. Wickramasinghe is petty.

By the way, it was hilarious to read your comment regarding renowned Irangani Serasinghe as having three sons and one married to Sharmini Serasinghe.

Please verify your information before you impart your knowledge.

        3

        Dear Chandra S.,
        .
I did not mean to criticise Prof. Maithri Wickremasinghe, in any way. I was merely recording the fat that the group that My3 was addressing was NOT the cabinet, but those who came along to the swearing in of Premier Ranil W.
        .
Does it rad as though I’m full of hatred of Prof. Maithri? If it does, I’m sorry.
        .
As for getting the Serasinghe’s mixed up, I aplogised as soon as I realised my mistake. Nobody had to push me to it.
        .
Admittedly, one has to be sure of what one puts on. I thought that I had got it verified by a person very close to Sharmini Serasinghe. Nevertheless there was a mistake. And any mistake by me gets noticed because not only do I use only one pseudonym, but also, I regularly reveal my identity. I did that just about three hours ago, when I responded to Nanda Wanninayake, just about three hours ago, when I hadn’t seen this comment of yours.
        .
I recognise that you may have cogent reasons for not revealing your identity, but it certainly makes life easier for everyone when one takes direct responsibility for what one says.

Take it easy, I dont think you Sinhala man would ever have been hartred to anyone.

Mostly, I am in agreement with your comments being posted to this forum.

Just now as I am watching a documentary on Chinese buddhism, I really thought of you ; Sinhala man, you had added that you to have visited Malaysia few weeks ago.

I do want to travel there and travel across the country. I have got good friends of mine, female chinese friend who then lived in our hostel in Germany. After her studies, she returned to Malaysia and I stayed back in Germany. I think we srilankens can compare ours with those in Malaysia on many areas, since the country’s social indicators are not that far from those of lankens.

          to be contd.

          @Sinhala_Man:

Well, isn’t it remarkable of Prof. Wickramasinghe to sit through the cowardly speech of President Sirisena without storming out?

Now about me: this is the second time I wrote on this site. Even if I mention my full name, you will not know me. Many Sri-Lankan women share my first AND last name, therefore it is going to be a futile task to find me. However, if you must know, I am a woman and a senior citizen still active in the workforce.

A news flash for you dear Sinhala man, one does’t have to be “known” in order to comment on any site. That is how democracy works.

          Feliz Navidad!

          3

          Dear Chandra S.
          .
Thanks for Christmas greetings and all that.
          .
Yes, it was surprising that they sat there through all that telling off.
          .
Please get this point clear: I’m pretty sure that I’m like many other citizens who were all for Yahapalanaya and so forth, and we certainly felt betrayed by Sirisena when he installed our bete noir, Rajapaksa, as Prime Minister.
          .
We opposed his move as thoroughly undemocratic (rejecting the simplistic notion speciously put forward that democracy means seeking the views of the entire electorate multiple times every year). I certainly thought it necessary that My3 be taught a lesson by forcing him to re-instate Ranil. We wanted to keep that simple and uncomplicated.
          .
However, at what point do you think that the leader of should retire? Within the UNP there were senior members assuring us that there would be a change of leadership.
          .
Such desires were expressed by many, but Ranil has a reputation for being dictatorial within the party. Where are the changes? I don’t want to tie down all the MPs to policies which must necessarily change as EVENTS UFOLD.

        • 2
          3

          PART TWO
          .
However, we have come to think of Ranil as a guy without any desire to share power or to retire.
          .
What do you think of the cabinet as we now see it? When does Ranil plan to retire? Time and thinking don’t have to be wasted by me on that.
          .
And then the Arjuna Mahedran problem. Ranil sat through it all looking guilty (my view). No. I’m sick and tired of all this.
          .
As for other issues, well, I don’t agree with Sirisena.
          .
You’ve got back using a more civil tone, but to refusing to declare identity. I fear we end up dissatisfied.
          .
I don’t think that I want to go on responding to you.

I thought you are an intellgent person Sinahala Man. Unfortuantely you yourself the othe way around.

To me snf a large number of healthy people of my nature , that speech of President went on 40 min following Sworning in of PM was beyond all ethics and morals.

As i read somewhere, he had warned the gathering not to raise any cross question while the speech was being held. Hirunika a young MP analysed it, and she had not been present in the audience. PM had warned his MPs not to utter a single word against him also during the speech. That was the reason, the event was seen as in favour of the president.

How dare you to add a comment of above kind NOT having studied it properly. You usually do some own research before leaping to add urs as I know you as a commenter on CT, surprisingly, this you have just added evasively why ?
. I also listened to the afore mentioned speech. Sirisena who now has beocme a king clown, only spoke of one side as if PM RW is the only person to be blamed. And keeping those PC recommendations for them no thaving exposed it to be media, Prez has deliberately delivered his duties in term sof protecting Rajakshes. In those documents, as i got to know from some experts, Rajakashes had been named as a convicted criminal.

And going by President s statements on this very day, he repeated that over 1000 billions are roughly lost by CB bond scam, if one would calculate them from 2008.

He hasn’t categorically denied he ever met Velupillai Prabaharan.

SF is a jail bird. He was sentenced to jail for three years by the very same army he commanded, for fraud.
If he is made a minister, so can any other criminal.

Sirisena as President is playing “pucks” he has really gone nuts , he is hell bent on destroying this government as he does not like “Ranils face”. Ranil and his government are anathema to him , so wherever
he can Sirisena is scuttling the work done by this government , even the Speaker is falling in line with Sirisena, thereby, making this government very unpopular so that Rajapaksas with Sira s friend Gota can come back to rule , this is a sinister plan hatched by Sira and the Rajapaksas. The UNP is blind to observe this as they are happy to have got the cabinet postings. Ranil and his gang are living in a fools paradise, Ranil and the Speaker will soon fall down for this man Sirisenas sinister plot, and then it will be too late .

Sarath Fonseka (SF) must tell us as to why and/or for what, an apology was allegedly demanded by MS. It cannot be the assassination threat because an apology, if tendered, will be a confession.
We formed an impression that SF is a straight talker. Is he?

    Well done Sir,

Your great principles are well respected…..You are a brave general who saved the country from the scourge of LTTE terrorism

You bravely defied the tyranny of criminal Gotabaya and Mahinda Rajapumse who stole the credit of decimating Tamil Tiger terrorism from Sri Lanka’s soil…..

We Sri Lankans are proud of your courage to stand against injustice even at the cost of your own suffering……

There is no other person in the current government deserving the Law and Order Portfolio. …..

You are the only one with courage to go after criminal GoTa and Mahinda clan and punish them for heinous crimes they have committed in a 10 year reign of terror.

“Your great principles are well respected…..You are a brave general who saved the country from the scourge of LTTE terrorism”

Well why haven’t you congratulated him for saving the country from the scourge of JVP terrorism?

Actually it was VP who saved this from LTTE with a great support from Hindia, the West, China, Pakistan, …. for which Gamay lads unnecessarily gave their life. Those lads never had the luxury of choosing their principles.

By the way what principles are you talking about?
You mean from a variety of principles that is available he picks and chooses to suit his needs, desires, circumstances, ………..

What about the Sinhalese state terrorism, genocidal activities and war crimes against the island’s Tamils that started from independence and is still continuing. Who is going to the save them from this. The so called LTTE terrorism is a child of state sponsored Sinhalese state terrorism and most of the so called terrorism committed during the 30 year war was not by the LTTE but the Sri Lankan state and armed forces and 99% of their victims were innocent Tamil civilians deliberately targeted and killed under guise of fighting the LTTE , just like in May 2009 . The LTTE is responsible for around 5% of the killings the Sri Lankan state and its armed forces for 95% but no Sinhalese , however liberal or born again is willing to acknowledge or admit to this truth. Sarath Fonseka is still a racist , he made extremely racist uttering about the land only belonging to the Sinhalese Buddhist only forgetting the fact that 1/3 of the island had never been Sinhalese or Buddhist but Tamil and Hindu ruled by Tamil kings and chiefs until the British decided to hand over the Tamil lands to the Sinhalese on a platter in 1948. Funny all these coming from a man who belongs to community or caste that is descended from Indian Tamil immigrants who arrived in the island a few centuries ago. Always these Sinhalese talk about LTTE terrorism but very silent about all the state sponsored Sinhalese terrorism genocide war crime activities against the island’s Tamils that is still going on and this anti Tamil took part in this. When are the Tamils going to be saved from Sinhalese state terrorism and Sinhalese Buddhist Fascism ?

    :
One should not tender an apology for a comment which he considers it a fair and just comment
in the circumstances in which he has made it. On the other hand If a public officer demands an apology for the offer a public office then it would indeed soliciting a bribe..

I don’t think you are perfect Mr. Sarath Fonseka. But in this instance I am on your side. DONT APOLOGISE TO THE PRESIDENT.

Sirisena is a double head poisonous snake. How could he take higher moral grounds when his family is masters at all kinds of fishy dealings. When he appointed his brother as the chief of STL, it’s share was trading at Rs. 90, now it’s less than Rs. 50, See the colossal loss to the state, the majority share holder and to the other share holders. It’s because, they are running it down to the ground. How about his daughter’s company getting state ads? From where and how his daughter and brother got money to put up hotels in Pollonnaruwa and Nuwera Eliya. His son was pushing the gas terminal deal at hugely unforvarable terms to the country, during the time of the illegal government – the biggest deal in the history of the country, USD. 20 billions. How about his son in law’s rust bucket Russian ship deal? It’s the case of the shrimp shouting shit smell and ultimately the shit is in it’s head. He wants yes men around him, inorder to play their games, people with backbone wouldn’t give room for all those. We voted for him, and now a days, one get sick of seeing him and hearing him. First off, to be a holy cow, he has to get his near ones to be clean of stinking dirts.

Don’t for any reason apologise to this 2 timing back boneless traitor. You are the only one who gives this President what he deserves. As for the person who has admired the President’s tirade against the UNPers after swearing in of the PM, it was in very bad taste & showed his bad breeding. He wanted to score brownie points with the Rajapakses & fans who are cursing him for bringing MR down by his stupid actions. He broke every rule in the book to bring down Ranil & when he failed & was forced to eat his words he invited them to his residence & berated them. He lost the game but he is no sportsman so he is acting like a spoilt child. What a lot of stupid things did he say! Are armed forces personnel who have been accused of crimes & Buddhist priests who break the law ABOVE the law?
HE created a scenario where MP’ S were auctioned for millions .He has admitted that his criticism of MR in 2015 was gallery talk. & his lecture at his prime minister’s swearing in was also akin to that – gallery talk – just to appease the Rajapakses.

He is guilty of violating the constitution which he pledged to uphold. He should be impeached. Sarath Fonseka, this man can’t hold a candle to you. Forget being a minister & make it your duty to criticise this idiot of a president. People will love u & admire you.for it . That action alone will win you many many votes in the next election. Make your self the self appointed minister of ” blasting sillysena “You don’t need to do anything else to win you votes.

The President who uses the term “Rana Viruvo” does not respect the “Leader of the Rana Viruvo”. This shows what a cheap character the President Sirisena has. Its time to impeach the President.

NGOs are very mad with the Common Candidate for their failed project. That is what all these Rantings in every page. PAW DA. IT IS HIS BOSS RANIL that did not give SARATH FONSEKA the LAW and ORDER minister position. Since MRs. B’s time LAW and ORder is only for Dummies or for HYANES because it is run by CIA.

In a post-war Sri Lanka taking war victory to ignite minds of people is kind of cheap mind. Mahinda Rajapakse, Gotabe Rajapakse, Fonseka all are same. Maithree is no more three, seems not even one :).

Wish you a happy secular holidays.

You would do well to note Rjapaksas were begging Sarath Fonseka for contribution towards MR’s first presidential election fund.
You see now the circumstances have changed Namal is offering Rs 500 million and a job in the government being the price he would pay to buy few horses to pull his dad’s completely broken wangon.

Please feel free to carry his clanking b***s.

The most ridiculous thing I have heard is this assassination plot against Sirisena and blaming others for it. Last time they Assassinated the Prime Minister of the country people were saddled with his wife. The country fell from the frying pan to the fire. I don’t thing it will ever happen again. When that PM was assassinated he was in the dog house, if he was left alone he would have destroyed himself. Sirisena single handedly has destroyed himself with his stupid antics, who in their right mind will want to assassinate him!!!. It is laughable.

What a turn of events. After losing the last Presidential election ,one of the conditions laid down by MR to hand over the Govt.to Ranil , while the elected president was hiding in Kurunagalla coconut estates , was that Gen. Fonseka should not be given either Police or Justice ministerial positions as he was awaiting to take revenge on Rajapakse family for jailing him on false charges. Ranil cowed down as usual and Gen. Fonseka was not given those positions.
When Prez ,Sirisena emerged and took reins, the 1st thing he did was to promote Gen. Fonseka to Field marshal Position and decorated him as against the wishes of Ranil and MR clan. This position is usually given to officers commanding large armies like in USA, China , Russia & India and the position depicts the size of the army. Since late, MS was trying hard to get back to the fold of MR clan due fear and finally found an opportunity he created and appointed him as the PM unconstitutionally, thinking that money will buy enough MPs to vote MR to power but his idea miserably failed as TNA & JVP fought vehemently in the courts & other political venues and restored democracy in the country and rule of law prevailed and the SC & the speaker came to the rescue. Now that the Prez. is under the thump of MR Clan, caught in a trap set by himself ,he unwillingly agrees to dance to the tune set by MR’ tho’ he is watched constantly by world leaders. . So he has asked RW not to appoint Gen.Fonseka to any position and RW cowed down as usual and all know that he does not stand on any principles but happy with the position he holds

Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka is the biggest hero of our time in Sri Lanka if not for him we will be still fighting the war, in return for all the sacrifice he made the most ungrateful rulers of our country sent him to jail. If he could stand against the great Rajapakse who is Sirisena. We are still great full to you Sir

“Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka is the biggest hero of our time in Sri Lanka if not for him we will be still fighting the war,”

      Is he a real hero?
You must thank VP for winning a war for Sarath.
Hindians and the International Community helped VP a lot.
If not for Vellupillai Prabaharan Sarath, Kamal, Gota, Mahinda, ……………………. another 1500 generals would not have single handedly won the war even in their dreams.

Little islanders need success story for the purpose of their existence. It is like their origin myth.

A person who stood his ground against a powerful enemy like President Rajapaksa will not bow down to a tinpot Hitler alike Sirisena. Rajapaksa thought that by humiliating you to carry the bucket of water to the prison toilet he can break your willpower. You stood your ground with his head high.

But I have an important question for you.

Once you said you did not fight the war according to the rules. That you broke the rules. Other times you claimed the generals and soldiers under you did not commit any war crimes leave alone crimes against humanity. But,

    (1) What happened exactly to the 300 odd LTTE cadres who surrendered along B.Nadesan on the night carrying a white flag on May 17/18th at Mullivaaikkaal? There were photographs of the bodies of Nadesan, Ramesh and Pulithevan thrown to the ground riddled with bullets and burnt marks indicative of torture before killing them.
Please tell the truth to posterity as to who shot these persons to death and who gave the orders?

    (2) Likewise at Vadduvaakal over 100 second ranking LTTE cadres surrendered to the army. They were taken in CTB buses for a short inquiry, but they never returned after that short inquiry. Among those who surrendered was Poet Ratnathurai, Elilan, Yogi, Balakumar and Thilakar. A photograph appeared in the media showing Balakumar with his son seated on a bench inside an army camp.

What is certain is these cadres did not commit suicide. They were arrested in the presence of their spouses and relatives. 1/2
