President Who Shot Down Right Of Women To Purchase Alcohol Is Ok With Daughter Getting Liquor-Selling License

Chathurika Sirisena, daughter of President Maithripala Sirisena, has obtained a ‘liquor license’ for a restaurant she owns in Polonnaruwa, the ‘Anidda‘ has reported.

Chathurika

Anidda,’ a newspaper launched today, has highlighted the issuance of a liquor license to Sirisena’s daughter but has not revealed the names of all 38 persons who have been given such licenses by the Excise Department in 2016.

This revelation comes in the wake of President Sirisena shooting down legislation that sought to overturn an age-old law prohibiting women from purchasing alcohol from taverns or working in restaurants selling liquor.

What a bloody rotten mess this country is. It’s time for a 2015 revolution.

This country needs a leader to emerge from outside the political spectrum and the people should ban serving politicians ever being elected and politicians who have been in politics for he past 25 years from ever contesting. Enough is enough.

This is a good one, Gune. The GOVIGAMA MAFIA ELITES must be made to pay for their crimes committed throughout a span of 70+ years (Corruptions and killings), by monopolizing the RULING POWER fully concentrated to evolve under their EVIL CLAN that caused all the troubles and their DIVIDE and RULE strategy they employ to keep the society divided on RACE, RELIGION and ETHNICITY….for if these evils are not present in the system, the country must have prospered 50 years ago ( A vision Lee Kwan Yew saw long, long time back). Kick them out of POLITICAL POWER and save the country for the future generations. First of all, the MEDIA must be cleared from their evil control. Because, they own 90% of the Media companies and Media houses that spew hatred against the other races to cause rifts between them. They created the WAR that saw the birth of Terrorism that took thousands of lives and the TREASURY borrowing money from the JEWS (IMF/WORLD BANK) which stole our hard earned money being repaid as loan settlements which is a CURSE that even our grand children have to pay for. And they closed the WAR by becoming the HEROES…. The stupid people are being TAKEN ON A never ending JOY RIDE…..

Don’t we realise that what govt. leaders SAY is not what they DO. When paralysed into destroying legal SAITM, H.E in good conscience realized that ALL SAITM should go into KDU as agreed by GMOA. Then GMOA realized commissions they could make if they grabbed 100 off KDU by false division, not understanding court verdict for SAITM who were locally registered. They will not go Nizhny for “sure failure” when they are already govt. approved here. Now H.E must DO what he SAID of “ALL SAITM”

I wholly disapprove what you say ,but I will defend to death your right to say it.

    ””””’
I find it impossible to connect the right for a women to obtain a liquor’ license for her restaurant to a women buying for consumption ,not that I care , gender bias is not something I will stand and support on the contrary ,I would rather condemn it,but this article is just chalk and cheese .

What’s wrong here? If women can be owners of Wine Stores, why wouldn’t president’s wife or daughter be owner too?

It is funny to see people think about Sinhala/Buddhism only when they see the president’s daughter obtaining the liquor license. Anyway, liquor is part and parcel of SL culture, and a true friend in Happiness and Sorrow, in happiness the host pays, in sorrow the visitor pays. She might be service-minded also, who knows.

Let this poor girl make some money in a lucrative business in SL where there is no Muslim competition. Even selling drugs seems to have this Muslim competition problem – Since this is public, Muslims will never get into, is guaranteed.

I have lost all faith in Maithri, but not so much because of this liquor issue.
    .
It’s quite simply his lack of courage, and I hope that he’s not going to be persuaded by sycophants to even think of contesting the Presidency.
    .
I agree that his daughter is a different individual with rights of her own. However, after the writing of that book, and My3’s own moralistic talk (to indulge in which he has every right), the immediate family should have been more careful. He can’t be expected to control his brothers, but for this he is to blame.
    .
Why this unholy hurry to ensure the future prosperity of his family?
    .
On the other hand, once he’s let us down on more important issues, why should we be bothered with this sort of thing?

  • 2

My3 is clueless in corporate / national governance and as always, his left hand does not what his right hand does.
Isn’t that too obvious with his various reactive actions on national issues!!

The next level of the issue is how and why My3 gives way to the “boys club” of the Royal gang that is the UNP top hierarchy.

Given these two factors, It is not surprising at all to pursue My3 as a “lame duck” in the current political arena.

Sometime I feel as if Dayan J is more influencive than My3 just by his jabbering about the hypothetical shortcomings of the cohabitant government since he stands out to to the sole spokesperson on many national issues.

I fell disappointed that we do not seem to have an effective government running the country thus making an economic recovery impossible for many years to come.

I was praying and hoping ( in desperation) that the likes of Chamika Ranawake, Eran Wickramaratne, Ajith Perera, and even Ms. Rosy S to pull the party out-of-this mess but alas, it seems that nobody is bold enough.

The end result therefore is quite clear, the UNP will not win more than 27.8% of the vote base in the next election, be it the Provincial council or the Presidential election @ 30.6%. (stats based on my research)

My3 is clueless in corporate / national governance and as always, his left hand does not what his right hand does or vice versa. Isn’t that too obvious with his various reactive actions on national issues!!
The next level of the current situation is to properly understand how and why My3 gives way to the “boys club” of the Royal gang that is the UNP top hierarchy.
Given these two factors and several other pivot variables ( not explained in this article) , It is not surprising at all to deduce that My3 as a “lame duck” in the current political arena.
Sometime I feel as if Dayan J is more influential than My3 just by his jabbering about the hypothetical shortcomings of the cohabitant government and in his criticizing of My3, since Dayan stands is obviously the outlier t and the sole ( radical) spokesperson on many national issues.
I fell disappointed that we do not seem to have an effective government running the country thus making an economic recovery impossible for many years to come.
I was praying and hoping ( in desperation) that the likes of Chamika Ranawake ( my batchmate form Uom) , Eran Wickramaratne, Ajith Perera, and even Ms. Rosy S to pull the party out-of-this mess but alas, it seems that nobody has the ” balls” to be different.
I’ve worked as a member of the UNP “Think Tank” and has first hand experience as to how arrogant Ranil W was ( or is). So much so that I just gave up my time volunteering to rebuild the UNP at a time when the party was really struggling with strategic options.
In the mean time, I’ve conducted a research survey in selected geographical locations ( thus ensuring a proper and equal distribution of survey candidates) and not withstanding any of the above research observations, the the extrapolated end result of the next general/ presidential election is foretasted as below:

Native Vedda: In your comment: ” I am not saying……..however what I am saying is being a Sinhala/Buddhist country and nepotism are the basis of Sinhala/Buddhist”. Please don’t drag this “Sinhala/Buddhist country” and “Sinhala/Buddhist” concepts into the question of a issuance of a Liquor License, just because the President happens to be a “Sinhala/Buddhist”. You are, perhaps, inadvertently, or intentionally setting up a “FIRE ” that which is going to be lethal. Please don’t be a “willing” or “pursued” party to it. We do not need any more “FIRES” in this country.

      Douglas

Presidents are always elected from narrowly defined collection of noisy minority. During his 2015 presidential election campaign he proudly stated that on occasions he acted as Defense minister. What did he mean?

You can hide Sinhala/Buddhism in the constitution, in debates, in comments, ………… however you cannot hide its destruction. Sinhala/Buddhism was concocted 100 years ago by competitive racists to take advantage of innocent people. It worked in 1948, 1956, 1958, ………………. It will work for the foreseeable future.

You can deny the existence of Sinhala/Buddhist racism but you cannot hide its records of destruction.

“You are, perhaps, inadvertently, or intentionally setting up a “FIRE ” that which is going to be lethal. “

The fire is already on, it was never extinguished, no one want to extinguish it simply because many will lose benefits, no one including yourself want to stop the rampage of the Sinhala/Buddhist racists, very useful to politicians, useful to functionaries, allocation of scarce resource is simplified, appointments to state jobs are streamlined and pecking order defined, ………………..

“Please don’t be a “willing” or “pursued” party to it. We do not need any more “FIRES” in this country.”

Then start distancing yourself from the dangerous Sinhala/Buddhist fascist. When did the island first come to use Sinhala/Buddhism and Sinhala/Buddhists in its vocabulary?

Its a relatively recent concoction, exclusive political identity which was popularized by SWRD Banda’s racist Pancha Maha Balavegaya. As a consequence we still see fire all around us , death, corruption, nepotism, ……………… rely on Sinhala/Buddhism for its succour, …..

Douglas if you don’t identify and challenge or turn a blind eye of these anti human forces and fail to neutralize them you will continue to have “FIRE ” for the next hundred years. I am from the deep south I know what I am talking about.

Excellent point Native….. the destruction caused by the so called “Sinhala Buddhism” brand is an undeniable fact which is now an International flag for mass murder, killings and rape with corrupt political system giving life to it. Gnanasara’s elevation to a prominent Buddhist figure protected by the SLFP/UNP Govi Mafia alliance speaks million words about infiltration of the Mossad and the campaign that works under the Zionist system to establish the Satanic NWO project to destroy all established mainstream religions and after which ONE World religion (the New Age) is forced upon the world population that upholds the Anti Christ as the only god. Sinhalese are being fooled millionth time as they are slow to realize this phenomena.

Here is a story that I wish to share with you:

      Æsop. (Sixth century B.C.) Fables.
      The Harvard Classics. 1909–14.

The Young Thief and His Mother

A YOUNG Man had been caught in a daring act of theft and had been condemned to be executed for it. He expressed his desire to see his Mother, and to speak with her before he was led to execution, and of course this was granted. When his Mother came to him he said: “I want to whisper to you,” and when she brought her ear near him, he nearly bit it off. All the bystanders were horrified, and asked him what he could mean by such brutal and inhuman conduct. “It is to punish her,” he said. “When I was young I began with stealing little things, and brought them home to Mother. Instead of rebuking and punishing me, she laughed and said: ‘It will not be noticed.’ It is because of her that I am here today.” 1
“He is right, woman,” said the Priest: the Lord hath said:
“TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOULD GO; AND WHEN HE IS OLD HE WILL NOT DEPART THEREFROM.”
      http://www.bartleby.com/17/1/44.html

      Douglas
The moral of the story is never ever defend wrong doing and encourage them by your own denial and sense of worth being part of Sinhala/Buddhist crooks/war criminals, racists, ………. .

Men and women share equal rights, in civilised society.
Women should be permitted to qualify to own a ‘liquor licence’, and even consume alcohol – the low percentage kind, like beer & wine, preferably.
Getting drunk in public is socially unacceptable, especially for women, in civilised societies.
Liquor, like food, is satiating to all.
Why not allow women to taste liquor too, in private.

Nothing wrong, equal rights to men and women. However, the President has no right to block women buying, selling or consuming liquor. Its call FREEDOM. If the President wants to block any one from consuming liquor first he has to stop the Buddhist Monks consuming liquor.

If there is anything every Single Sri Lanka Citizen should worry is about our debts .

To say its something $6 Billion external and to confess that no one really knows exactly how much and also to say 75% of the above figure is to China when US is playing pandu with China trade , and God only knows what are the giant internal debts and how the borrowers are performing ,all this is like living in nightmare

Please read the Forbes report if you really care for Sri Lanka and let us put all petty things aside and try in whatever way ( legally) possible to encourage foreign funs flow ,honestly it is mostly our housemaids who may be contributing the maximum today..

People who have friends overseas must try to use their connections to invite more tourists .

If whitewashing Sri Lanka at this moment mean hypocrisy ,let us think of it as a healthy hypocrisy and do it .,because I honestly believe we are sinking real fast and its scary. ,without trying to save the nation lot of political diversions are made by all parties concerned for personal gain.

The PM has an obligation to tell the people that we are in deep financial trouble and we can not mortgage more of the country to borrow to keep it afloat , drowning man even grabbing a straw will drown.

We need external help urgently and desperately ,not from.just a few Asian nations , we need to reach to all western and middle Eastern .nations .

The day we stop being petty minded and stop reading petty gossips and start a wholesale investigation of how the country had been robbed and still is ,we can change as one people ,one nation.

But unfortunate ,We Sri Lankans are more exited about ordinary people’s personal life ,we love to slander and gossip ,its an integral nature of ours.

You will have plenty of readers when you slander people ,no matter who it is , even if it is to break all believing commandments or precepts. It is a hobby well accepted .

No one wants to know the Financial economic status , as long as we have a highway , few nice buildings. ,there you are, who cares how we paid for it, who cares about upgrading our railway and other public utilities etc.

Let us all sit with our smart phones and belittle everyone , gossip and slander ,let Lanka bleed .it is not our problem ,
    Life goes on huh !

Native Vedda: Thank you. You, in saying: “The fire is already on……no one including you…….” You have not read or understood me correctly. For your information, I, target “SELECTIVELY”, but not in “GENERAL”. As you said the “fire is already on”. WHY?; because, the attack is not targeted on the “SELECTED” enabling them to take SHELTER among the “GENERAL”. I do not wish to relate the story of that “Guard” in trying to kill the “FLY” sitting on the head of the “KING”, how actually killed the “KING”. I am not that “Guard” type. I totally agree, that a “Minority” of the “WHOLE” is engaged in EXPLOITATION of the “COMPOSITE”. That “MINORITY” is my target and I will expose and contribute my share of efforts to extinguish that “FIRE” from engulfing the WHOLE. Please continue to read me with that story of the “Guard”, the “Fly” and the “King” in mind and I am sure you will begin to understand me better. Cheers.

Native Vedda: When my reply comment appeared, several of my friends called me. One among them is from “Deep North”. He introduced as : “I am from deep North”. I could not figure out that introduction at once; but when he asked me: “why din’t you tell that person from “deep South”, I knew what he meant. That was the introduction of yourself mentioned in your own comment. Anyway, let us have a good laugh over that. My friend from North knows how filled my lifestyle with humour. My friend pointed to the very story you related about the “son and the mother” and compared with my story to you of the “Palace Guard, the “Fly” and the “King”. He said, that “son” was very “Selective” ; “Wise” and “Targeted” the “Real Culprit” and TAUGHT a good LESSON to all the “Mothers” while in my story, the “Palace Guard” was “Idiotic” not knowing “How to be Selective” of the “Target” and the “Attack” and in the end “Killed” the “King” leaving an another LESSON of “Idiocy” of DESTROYING the INNOCENT. Hm…. what could I say, more than that to you. Have a Nice Day.
