Prez Must Explain And Apologize Regarding Daham: Anura Kumara

Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Colombo Telegraph that if President Maithripala Sirisena is still serious about pledges made to the people on January 8th on good governance, rule of law, doing away with nepotism and favoritism, he has to make a clear statement regarding his son Daham‘s presence with the Sri Lankan delegation at the sessions of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Specifically, he said that the President has to explain why he took his son to New York and in what capacity. Dissanayake referring to the fact that Daham had stated that he was representing his mother at the UNGA and that he was a ‘youth representative’, said that in the event that President Sirisena cannot defend these statements, then both father and son as well as the Foreign Ministry have to tender an unqualified apology to the people of Sri Lanka.

“Prez Must Explain And Apologize Regarding Daham: Anura Kumara”

We are Sri Lankans we don’t apologise. We are 100% perfect.

We never made/make mistakes. Therefore no need to apologise.

Is Anura bent on insulting our cultural values?

By the way he has a lot to apologise about JVP’s past. When can we have apologies for the misdeeds of JVP over the past 50 years? Don’t forget JVP share of their hypocrisy.

He should own up, say sorry and move on.

Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, did the President Sirisena and UPFA apologize for selecting the defeated candidates and giving them MP and Ministerial portfolios? No.

Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, did the AKD and JVP apologize for selecting the defeated candidates and giving them MPs? No.

Actually, one of the National list candidates, was pissed off so much he resigned.

So,, those who live on glass houses must not throw at others.

The criticism for the Daham issue must come from those who have more credibility than the the JVP.

Nevertheless, it was wrong and of course nepotism to drag Daham, just because he cried, Appachi Appachi, I want to come too!

If aiyo Sirisena is as honourable as he wants us to believe and if his yapalanaya is to be credible, one option for him is to say he made a mistake and return every cent spent on this son of questionable reputation in this entire trip. This to include 1st class airfare, portion of hotelling, taxi fare, telephone bills etc., I don’t think he would have indulged in blue-movies and other vulgarism MR’s mafia engaged in. The Sirisenas have enough money plundered through the Araliya fortune to make good the loss incurred by the poor Lankan tax payer. This will be a lesson to other future crooks too.

BTW, Sirisena hamine does not have to accompany her husband in the official foreign trips he makes. Don’t compare yourselves to the Obamas. They have Air Force 1 and 2 to take their normal large retinue. We are still a bukki karathe economy.

How do you know? Dont forget we are talking about a man who exposed himself to someone elses wife at a hotel beach. That was a few years ago. Now, he would have matured into areal pervert.

      Dear Anura K.D.
I expected JVP to get 15 seats at the elections. With due apologies to you and the JVPers who genuinely work and worked for a better MOTHER LANKA, the numbers were low, I thought, was that the reason the 1971 Insurrection and the 1989-1990 Terror , were lingering in the minds of those who suffered at that time.
My very close friends in Kaduwela financed your movement for many years. They were so called “Walawwa people” who were highly respected people in the Hewagam Korale and in the country for at least 13 generations; they genuinely thought that the so called “Walawwa Desapalanaya” was improper for our Sri Lanka, especially owing to Nepotism Concept of Hon. D.S. Senanayake and the” Favoring the rich and the well-connected and PAGA, of his and later Governments. They thought that Hon. SWRDB was used by some as a “SCAPE GOAT” for racial issues.
Some of my cousins were Barristers,Attorneys -at-law , Architects, Engineers and University Dons. My cousins, helped Mr Rohana W. at the time of the Trial-at-bar , during Mrs B’s time. They came to SL from England at the time of the case to encourage the ACCUSED …the Trial-at-bar held at the Queens Club. Leftists like Suriya W., Herburt W. and Willa W. went to the BIA to preotect and help my UK cousins , whenever they came to the trial-at -bar.

        Dear Anura K.D.,
Sorry I had to stop abruptly.
What I meant to say was that when MR Rohana W. was ill with the heart problem, it was my cousins who took the initiative to get him down to UK and got Surgeon ENGLISH ,FRCS to perform the operation.

We all had high hopes in him and the JVP, but the course was changed in 1989…to VIOLENCE. Then my cousins withdrew from the JVP, UK…better to say , had no connection with the JVP,S.L.

Do not feel discouraged. Still some have hopes in you. Pieris, Devapura and Accha’s (deceased)brother Vijaya are still ready to help you from there. They are old, but will help you, when you show the non-violent, honest path.[Edited out]

Very good AKD, I thought he himself will explain about that.
I think External ministry should learn planning all these beforehand not to repeat the kind of blunders again. Prez knows that he is an another citizen only. This he himself told to the nation on the very first day.

MS is not a senior politician and he will make few more mistakes. I think the biggest mistake is already done. UNHRC resolution on Sri Lanka and sponsoring the resolution.

MS and RW are keep saying that they managed to water down the resolution. According Judge Silvia Cartwright there is no real change by using soft words. They knew about the Roman statue (ICC) before hand and as such they brought MS and RW to the negotiation table. They thought they were negotiating. Not only did they get them to agree, they got them to co-sponsor the resolution.

Now Sri Lanka is TOTALLY TRAPPED. They need to make constitutional amendments to make the resolution work. This special court and the process will go on for decades.

US, UK and EU and their allies can and will dictate for their political gains under the name of UN.

ONCE YOU MAKE A MISTAKE IN A GLOBAL POLITICAL ARENA YOU ARE DONE.

      Rupathy

“Now Sri Lanka is TOTALLY TRAPPED.”

Sri Lanka is given a way out of its past impasse.

Its up to the leaders to grab the opportunity and do what is necessary and in the best interest of the country and people.

If the leaders want to come out the pit they will have to first stop digging the whole and grab the rope and come out of it. Failure to do the right thing will cost more for the leaders, armed forces and ultimately for the people.

Stop whinging and start work on digging out truth, do justice and go forward with reconciliation process.

Stop being a smart a**e. Get it done and get over it.

“ONCE YOU MAKE A MISTAKE IN A GLOBAL POLITICAL ARENA YOU ARE DONE.”

Contrary to what you say, once you make humongous mistake at home you are done. Those cumulative huge domestic mistakes now have come to hound you.

If you treat your family well strangers have no excuse to grope your women folks.

        Native Vedda

“Get it done and get over it” is the key phrase. let’s see how they are going to make this work. Politically 2015 was a huge change and political dynamics among SL politicians will be a constant interplay throughout the process to get it done and get it over with.

Mr. Anura Kumara D: You most certainly would have heard this saying among we villagers. “Lejja Nethi Kama Mah Mudalikamatath Vediya Lokui”; meaning (No Shame is much Bigger Than even the position of Muddliyer) So in this context NO SHAME is much BIGGER than the Presidency. Do not expect either the President or the Big Wigs in the External Affairs would tender and apology and or explanation. Just forget it and as ex President said: “Let things go”. Didn’t that “LET THINGS GO” sum up all what is in stock?

Native Vedda: I think (if remember correct) JVP Leader Anura K D, during the last election campaign admitted publicly that they did quite a lot of mistakes and while tendering an apology said, “We will never ever resort to such activities in future but would follow all democratic means to get into power”.

Goraka: Good proposal. Yes, if you were in the closer circle most probably this would be the advice given to the President. But unfortunately as ex President said “All those who ruined me are now around Maithri and Ranil. Let thing go on”. Most probably those around this President would also say: “Let the dogs bark, but the moon will not fall”.

What is wrong with this idiotic politician?.

Hasn’t he got more important issues to worry about than picking on this kid,

UN, US and UK have put their Hybrid courts in Srialnka with the help of Batalanda Ranil and Mangala Samarweera to try our brave Army Commanders and Political leaders who liberated the country from Tamil Terrorist.

    And give Vellalas self rule.

Prince Zeid thinks Tamil Terrorism started only in 2002.

In fact it was the year Batalanda Ranil the then PM was ousted when he was about to give Tamil Terrorists full independence under his ISGA which was also put in place by the same West.

Can the JVP Elders if there are any, point out to Prince Anura that his predecessors are the ones who held the blow torch to Batalanada Ranil and got him sacked before the country was divided.

Have you, other than carrying MR’s b***s? When did you switch your allegiance to the political brat?

Probably you will profit from his planned trip to UN again though it is meant for youth can bend the rules, norms and convention as you know his dad is the president, as MR did when Pasikuda incident took place.

“Let things go” came to bite Mahinda’s ass. Maithri should smarten up.
Sri Lankans are too family-oriented to appreciate the subtleties of conflict of interest.

    Anura Kumara Dissanayaka:

YOU are man from Mahawa. Please be honest. Don’t talk stupid like all other politicians who are just riding the wave.

Talk intelligent. Serve your people, not only in Mahawa, but also all over the
    South, not always.

Right now, you have become a conman politician. In order to have a BSC in Physics, you should be intelligent. But, you are acting dumb.

Don’t be Dumb. You can grow up.

Anurakumara must say sorry to all the rural folk for the terror they unleased during the insurgency. I cannot understand why the JVP who over analyze every thing cannot understand why they are not getting the peoples support at elections from the rural areas all their votes are for towns and cities where their carders could not do what they wanted.

These are just third world issues of the day.

One party head attacks the other… sometimes, not even waiting what Prez has to say. He is also human being, I think just because he should have taken his son and let him sit behind him in the assemply means not that he is all time abuser – deserves to be compared with the mafia king any dictators on this earth.

Please folks, patience and dignity you guys need to practise.

For sure, he will have to bring an explanation, but not immeidately he returns home. I think we have alarming issues to address rather than hang on the kind of ones – JUST AT THE MOMENT.

OK it was wrong to take the kid and prez made a silly blunder by doing so.However we don’t need to brag about this so much and ruin the image of the kid which is unfair.
Hope both of them will learn their lessons.
I have a more important question to Anura.
It is good to build a society with passion of acknowledging mistakes and correcting them to move forward in the right direction.Well done for initiation.
However, I must say ,I was a uni student during the 89/90 bheeshanaya era and I can very well remember how JVP acted during those days.
They sabotaged our education to achieve their narrow minded political gains and sent many number of youth to the tyre seya mercilessly.
Thousands of mothers must be silently mourning for their missing children and JVP has a direct relation ship and responsibility to their deaths.I fully appreciate and acknowledge the pathway you have taken now along democratic lines.Eventhogh you have taken the peaceful path now,one cannot forget the painful miserable past of yours. The memories are traumatic and vivid .We lost three years of our precious lives which is perhaps nothing compared to the loss and destruction of life took place during those days.
Mate I just checked your age through Wikipedia.
You must have been an active member of those events as you were in the prime of your youth at that time.
Why not start with an honest apology about those mishaps. They were grave mistakes with terrible repercussions and The nation owes a big apology from you as the lead comrade of the present movement.
I hope victims of those days will join hands with me for this sincere request.
    Thanks a lot.

When will you keep the promise to reveal all the details,as you promised, about the US$500 000 found in Danuna Thilakaratne’s mothers bank vault? or you have’nt forgotten about it now ..have you?

It is good to hear at least JVP leader is talking about president taking his son to the UN using Tax payers’ money. Imagine, how much money will be spent, if more and more elected politicians are going to follow president path. It breaks my heart when the poor are suffering and these politicians are spending lavishly without having any remorse about the poor.
Well JVP leader, per the 100 day program, you were responsible for coming-up with a code of conduct for the politician. What happened to it? You don’t talk about it because you couldn’t implement it??? You just talk, but incapable of doing anything really. The code of conduct for the politician should have been implemented to stop the abuse of power.
You are just talking about the outcome of the bad behavior instead of implementing a method to prevent it. So you can be the nice guy in front of ignorant people.
Don’t you feel like a looser, when you were not able to do what you were responsible for doing on behalf of the people. Shame on you AKD. At least, do it now. We are waiting and watching until we get a chance to vote again.

When Raohana Wijeweera’s wife says that JVP sold what Wijeweea sold and did not give a cent to her and JVP used all those, JVP has lot of explaining to do instead of accusing MY3.

It Looks AKD is moving more towards that manipulative and exploitative politics and is moving away from their stand as honest and accountable politicians.

Who the hell is Wijeweera’s wife? She was given sanctuary at the naval base because the government did not want the citizens to lynch the entire family. Wijeweera sacrificed so many of our Sinhala brethren, and what right has the wijeweera family has over the loot stolen by wijeweera. They should be arrested and kept in jail for ever instead of sending them to universities in russia

President obviously take this brat with him rather letting him get involved in mid night drama in night clubs. Perhaps he would know it would bee disastrous for him allow this sort activists to go on with his foolish goon to darken the prospects of SLFP as well as that of the government. A few more incidents like this and Central Bank episode would make the government, SLFP & UNP very vulnerable with momentum of rising of JO. We hate see that yet that would be inevitable way the things are progressing. President and PM to note.
