Rajapaksa Defeated; Wimalaya, SB And The Inside Story

By Surendra Ajit Rupasinghe

Ajit Rupasinghe

Ajit Rupasinghe

As we had repeatedly alerted, even at the very last moment, in the face of imminent defeat, incumbent president Mahinda Rajapaksa tried to make a grab to hold on to power. Civil defense forces loyal to the Regime were to be dressed up in regular army uniforms to storm the bastions of state power. Media institutions were to be brought under siege. The National Security Council was to be convened. Emergency and martial law was to be promulgated. Emergency session of Parliament was to be convened to legitimize the coup. The two most notorious, low-life thugs of the Rajapaksa cabal, Ministers S.B. Dissanayake and Wimalaya were desperately pushing the agenda. Chief of Staff of the armed forces Jagath Jayasuriya was ready to sing the song. Army commander, Daya Ratnayake was in jitters. Could the coup face the wrath of the masses was their collective dilemma. The Elections Commissioner and the Inspector General of Police took strength from the raging tide of opposition. They stood firm. So, the murdering crony mafia cabal capitulated. Mahinda hastened to retreat in the face of mass mobilization. He handed over power before even before the results were announced in the hope that he would be shown some mercy. In the desperate hope that he would not be brought to face the Tribunal of the People! He knew that if he would have dared to go against the masses and reject their verdict he, his triumvirate and dynasty, together with his corrupt, murdering, raping narco-cabal would perhaps have faced the same fate as Colonel Gaddafi. Some of the most notorious criminals, drug barons, rapists and racketeers fled the country with their kith and kin well before the fall. Wimalaya tried to flee, but was refused entry at the airport.

So, to whom does this tactical victory belong? Of course, the victory parades would be held in honor of the winner, the new Executive President, H.E. Maitripala Sirisena, along with Ranil Wickremesinghe, Madam Chandrika, Champika Ranawaka and General Sarath Fonseka. Yet, if there are any real winners in this game, it would be the oppressed and suffering masses who dared to take on the hated emperor to unseat him. The victory would belong particularly to the Tamil people in the North-East and the Hill Country and the Moslem people – the oppressed nationalities, who had faced the most terrible abuse, exploitation and terrorist repression under the rule of the Emperor. The Hill Country Tamil population are to be saluted for routing Thondaman, their most direct terrorist overlord and drunken enforcer.

WimalHowever, any real victory for the people in this election would rest on whether the new dispensation would bring them justice. This would require that all corrupt politicians and officials, murderers, rapists and racketeers who had amassed fortunes under the Rajapakse Regime would be duly prosecuted and punished for their abominable crimes against the people and the country. It would require that all top bureaucrats in such infamous institutions as the Ceylon Electricity Board, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, the Urban Development Authority, Registration of Motor Vehicles, Customs, all Ministers and Secretaries, the Police and Armed Forces, private contractors and the whole litany of others that had killed democracy and human rights and robbed the people blind be brought before the Law to face justice. It would require that all high officials of the Judiciary and the Attorney General’s office that complied in entrenching the fascist Rajapakse dictatorship be brought before the Tribunal of Justice. It would require that the entire chauvinist-militarist-hegemonic State apparatus be dismantled forthwith and democratic institutions put in place. A system of public transparency and accountability would have to be instituted. The real victory for the people would lie in empowering their democratic rights so they may hold their political representatives and public officials effectively accountable and recallable. Most of all, a real victory for the people would lie in implementing a democratic political solution to the National Question, without any further prevarication or compromise. This is along with an immediate rescinding of the Prevention of Terroism Act (PTA) and the demilitarization of the North-East and throughout the country and granting full constitutional powers to the Northern Provincial Council.

Justice certainly would require that the cold-blooded assassins who are responsible for the killing of Lasantha Wickrematunge, Hon. Raviraj, Hon. Joseph Pararajasingham, the massacre of the aid workers, those responsible for the abduction of Prageeth Eknaligoda, Lalith, Kugan, all those guilty of war crimes and atrocities, and so many other such crimes be tried and punished. This is but a short list of such horrible crimes. All para-military fascist forces, including that of Douglas Devanada, the Bodu Bala Sena, Sinhala Ravaya be disarmed and served justice. Justice would require that the right of the people to information, their freedom of assembly, expression and conscience be immediately instituted. This would certainly include lifting of the block against Colombo Telegraph.

The new dispensation under H.E. Maitripala Sirisena shall be on public trial to ensure that Justice shall be done to the people. This is why the people voted him to power. They had no other choice. Unlike before, this time, the people are alerted to the real possibility that their democratic mandate be, once again, subverted and hijacked by the System and its ruling class. For sure, they will continue to be fed to the wolves of Capital and the country sold to the imperialist powers even more ruthlessly that before. This is the real agenda.

It would be the responsibility of the genuine progressive, democratic forces to build the independent power of the people to defend and advance their sovereignty, even within the prevailing neo-colonial Capitalist State, however illusory that may be. It is the sacred duty of all genuine revolutionaries to grasp this opening to build the united, organized conscious revolutionary will, strength and fighting capacity of the proletariat and the oppressed masses and nationalities in a common front of struggle against world imperialism and the neo-colonial State and direct the rising wave of class struggle towards the establishment of a People’s Democratic State, as a liberated base area of the world revolution, along the path of Socialism and the final victory of Communism.

So, did Wimalaya Weerawansaya also got fooled by the Astrologer, Just like Mahinda Rajapaksa and wanted thitd and fourth terms?

“Before calling presidential elections two years ahead of schedule, Mahinda Rajapaksa consulted his astrologer, Sumanadasa Abeygunawardena, who foresaw not just a third but also a fourth term in office for the Sri Lankan strongman.”

What have you achieved politically over the last 65 years comrade, other than throwing stones from the side?

You see this election as a great revolution? You are a bloody fool if you cant see the Muslim factor in this, so obvious in electorates like Galle, Kandy, Colombo West etc.

[Edited out] like you will never learn politics no matter how long you hang around.

By the way, remove the bloody cap!

      First thing first….

what Ranil must do now is to expedite the law enforcement agencies to crack down on Mahinda’s all crimes including theft, murder, disappearance of many people including political opponents and journalists. Mahinda is a seasoned criminal pf more than 40-50 years of experience. He employed all illegal methods to win this election. To Mahinda’s credit he abused state resources to its maximum. Media propaganda is the most effective one.

The margins he got is debatable. Only Mahinda and his cronies knows the exact figure of the real voting for themselves. There are many stories exposed in the alternative media of Mahinda using Army and Naval personalities and troops stealing voting cards and polling for him. So, he has had vote rigging in some cases. But, if we take it as it is officially known now to the entire world of having a 48% votes for him, this could pose a threat to any future govt., that is trying to re-correct the flawed system of governance that is functioning until the moment of Rajapakse conceded defeat.

Ranil and Maithree must expose Mahinda’s criminal dealings and all corruptions from day one. Now that the media and everything is under the control of the present elected representatives of the common candidate they must the blown up false image of RAJAPAKSE and his gangs. If Mahinda’s reputation is left intact it might cause trouble for the future of common cadidate and the UNP when they face for the general election. Mahinda’s pseudo Hero image must be destroyed.

Also, Ranil must always keep an eye on the Sinhala Only gangs. These criminals might again draw the present elected govt., on the same path the country was taken for the last 60+ years from the independence in a descending spiral.

Mahinda’s camp and the people who sympathised with him by voting for him in large numbers might embolden the gang to fight another day and re-capture power again. If any day that happens, then all the remaining opponents will be wiped out to pave the way for a new chapter in their pursuit power again.
Already, Namal and Basil is talking about not leaving to anywhere but staying in the country, sounds a fight back attitude.

Since, Mahinda had a large numbers of dependents and his own family and siblings, a come back is not far away. DESTROY MAHINDA’S FALSE IMAGE and show the world of his true nature and conducts and crimes he committed.

How about including another category of crime for inciting/causing mental disorders and existential distress among chattering classes of this island.

I have few typists in my mind, Dayan, Malinda, Rajpal Abeynayake, Bandu de Silva, Nalin de Silva, Irrathina Valli ………….. whom I admire therefore they should be exiled to Bihar or Adaman Island.

Jagath Jayasuriya and Daya Rathnayake who was doing politics with Gota all this time should be court marshaled.

My3 and CBK should get he helm of the old SLFP and send the Rajapaksas and their rogues like Keheliya, Raththaran, Johnie, Chandrasenas etc as with billions of loot that Rajapaksas got from the state, the present govt will be shaky and that is not good for the democracy.

      Goatabhaya is on the run?
karma is a bitch. she will keep haunting.

Sarath Fonseka who fought for the country was dragged on the floor, kicked badly, blind folded, left in a dark room for two days without water or any food and put in jail. This would have happened to Maithree also if he had lost.

Now that the 10 years of curse is over but the sharks are escaping. They have to be confined to house arrests or something like that, impound their passports or stop them at the airports to explain to the Nation of their horrible crimes, siphoning of National wealth, murders, etc, etc done against the citizens of Sri Lanka. Start investigating from Lasantha to Loku Athula.

RE: Rajapaksa Defeated; Wimalaya, SB And The Inside Story – Part 1

Stories of Shills , White Washers and Cronies Series. End of the Medamulana dynasty..
Can you do a series? he next Presidential Election is 6 years away..

    1. “As we had repeatedly alerted, even at the very last moment, in the face of imminent defeat, incumbent president Mahinda Rajapaksa tried to make a grab to hold on to power”

2, “Could the coup face the wrath of the masses was their collective dilemma. The Elections Commissioner and the Inspector General of Police took strength from the raging tide of opposition. 3.”Some of the most notorious criminals, drug barons, rapists and racketeers fled the country with their kith and kin well before the fall. Wimalaya tried to flee, but was refused entry at the airport.”

ooks like Wimalaya shut down his mudslinging and shilling web site http://www.lankacnews.com, before that.

    4. “Yet, if there are any real winners in this game, it would be the oppressed and suffering masses who dared to take on the hated emperor to unseat him. Do not forget about 45% of the Sinhala Buddhist and a higher percentages of Sinhala Buddhists in urban areas voted for Mr. Maitripla Sirisena.

That was 3.873, 765 voters , 31.95% of the votes polled, and that was higher than All the non-Sinhala Buddhist votes for Me Maitripala Sirisena was approximately 2,343,397 making the Total 6,217,162.

So, this is broad based rejection of the Medamulana Mahunda Rajapaksa and his Dynasty..

“It would be the responsibility of the genuine progressive, democratic forces to build the independent power of the people to defend and advance their sovereignty, even within the prevailing neo-colonial Capitalist State, however illusory that may be”

Can you write the Sri Lanka Common Sense Phamplet?

    Common Sense (pamphlet)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Sense_%28pamphlet%29

Common Sense[1] is a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine in 1775–76 that inspired people in the Thirteen Colonies to declare and fight for independence from Great Britain in the summer of 1776. The pamphlet explained the advantages of and the need for immediate independence in clear, simple language. It was published anonymously on January 10, 1776, at the beginning of the American Revolution and became an immediate sensation. It was sold and distributed widely and read aloud at taverns and meeting places. Washington had it read to all his troops, which at the time had surrounded the British army in Boston. In proportion to the population of the colonies at that time (2.5 million), it had the largest sale and circulation of any book published in American history.[2]

Common Sense presented the American colonists with an argument for freedom from British rule at a time when the question of whether or not to seek independence was the central issue of the day. Paine wrote and reasoned in a style that common people understood. Forgoing the philosophical and Latin references used by Enlightenment era writers, he structured Common Sense as if it were a sermon, and relied on Biblical references to make his case to the people.[3] He connected independence with common dissenting Protestant beliefs as a means to present a distinctly American political identity.[4] Historian Gordon S. Wood described Common Sense as “the most incendiary and popular pamphlet of the entire revolutionary era”.[5]

“This is a victory for the minorities.”

A good Majority of minorities, alspo called non-Sinhala Buddhists voted for Mr. Matripala Sirisena Democract Vs. Medamulana MaRa Family dictatorship anfd Dynasty.

However, 45% of the Sinhala Buddhists, who were NOT FOOOLED by MaRa propaganda, the fraction that is intelligent, the fraction that has an IQ above 79 voted for Mr, Maurupala Sirisena, except those Shills, white washers and Racists. They won too.

Who lost? All those with low IQ less than 79, who were fooled ny Mahinda Rajapaksa lies and propaganda, comprising b55% Sinhala Buddhists and 20 to 25% of other non-Sinhala Buddhists, called “Minorities”.

“Could the coup face the wrath of the masses was their collective dilemma. The Elections Commissioner and the Inspector General of Police took strength from the raging tide of opposition.”

What B.S is this guy talking. What masses and opposition is he talking about?51.3% opposition against 47.6% mainly sinhala bhuddhists and mostly the masses. If sirisena had lost 1.5% of his to the other side kota uda.

So if there was no coup probably because there was no support from the army. The army also would have had enough of the shit dished out by this regime and would have welcomed a common man like maithripala. Also Fonseka would be very popular being a ranker when he joined and 40 years of battlefield service and the main architect of the war victory,it would amaze me if he did not have friends and influence in it.Also as the writer commented the EC Deshapriya was the best we have ever had a man who loves his country obviously and with a backbone.

“The Hill Country Tamil population are to be saluted for routing Thondaman, their most direct terrorist overlord and drunken enforcer.”

i’am wondering about the badulla results.I expected maithri to win comfortably, not by a paltry 300 votes.did the estate tamils in badulla listen to that drunk as the writer correctly describes thonda, and vote for MR?In nuwara eliya obviously they did not voting for maithri.

The badulla results definitely puzzles me a bit, though others were as forecast.I expected maithri to win comfortably there, not struggle.

This is more in keeping with what we expected from MR and his cronies.

The stanzas from the Dhammapada which are being bandied about are are well and good but all this must be INVESTIGATED and the perpetrators brought to book.

You are dead right sir. How great to see the way transfer ended up will all peace yesterday. Had MR won this election, his rogues Thummulle wimale, Johnstan, SB, Kehelmal and the group would definitely have attacked the innocient people. That is the great difference between cutlured and uncultured rascals. I though criticised RW, CBK and JVP – they are all multiple time cultured ones this country produced. Looking at the way MR was welcome by Medamulana yesterday – how much impact should have worked on the rural folks over the years to make them behave like NORTH koreans ( at the time their leader died, many of the folks were forced to cry) – to the very same manner those rural stupid folks called him ” ape rajathuma”… ane ape rajata unada… curse that raja was rejected .. etc.. some intoxicated people could not help crying. All in all, justice and people s power got rid of the most abusive politician of all times in the country since indepenece.

First, the Ven. Maduluwe Sobitha, then the Ven. Athuraliye Rattana, to be followed by the once anti-Tamil JVP – all across the hardline communal spectrum now calling for unity, justice and reconciliation on the National Question. To use the beautiful expression of Bishop Desmond Tutu is the Rainbow of reconciliation on the way?

Or are Sinhalese with an established left inclination a different breed of the race – liberal, plural and more accommodative?

    A well articulated thesis.

While Dictator MR transferred power smoothly and peacefully for public consumption, we all know the plans afoot to hang onto power. But thanks to the well oiled machinery of the Opposition, all these plans came a cropper. So to paint MR as a Democrat is plainly wrong. He is infact a ruthless, barbaric, marauding Dictator who pandered to the needs of the vociferous extremist Nationalist, Buddhist groups who were infact a minority among the erudite Sinhala Buddhists. Such Sinhala Buddhist Nationalists are aplenty in Western, Christian Democracies, where they have planted roots and enjoy the freedoms such countries offer while at the same time promulgating Sinhala Buddhist hegemony in their home country. Such individuals are hypocrites to the core.

The core need here is Justice. The new Government needs to pursue all those who violated the law, one way or another so Justice prevails irrespective of who the offender is. They should begin with MR and his family and even go to those within the current new Administration. Observation of the rule of law is the essence.

Please restore Sarath Fonseka’s medals titles and civic rights. Then give him the job of cleaning up the military. There is no better person to handle this. A cleanup is desperately needed. There are also many other officers who were war heroes wrongfully dismissed without a pension by the vindictive maniac Gota out of revenge for being General Fonseka’s men who need to be compensated. Wimalaya and Ass B need to be in a jail cell with charges of treason never to see the light of day ever again.

anyway ranil has thanked MR and mentioned the word civilised for the handover.Since the PM has done that we should move on and concentrate on the future, not the past because the tide can change the other way soon when the people don’t find the relief they expect from the new regime.

As bill Clinton on the best to handle the economy, once famously said ‘it is the economy stupid” if the economy does not grow then the rajapakshe’s will make a comeback. The economy grew under them, but that was due to capital projects where even the labour component benefits went to china. Now what maithri should do is not get distracted by other matters, but focus on the economy and this time make it grow through productivity. To obtain that productivity he has to do the labour reforms. Our labour efficiecy is ranked 135th in the world and we can kiss goodbye to any prosperity if we continue on that trend.

The aforesaid article highlights the fact that he has made an allout effort to hang onto Power. The role of JAGATH JAYASURIYA should be exposed.

I believe your articles are currently directed only at the ex president and his people. Your articles sound really biased and looks like you’ll are just putting out all that oppressed speech out, which makes me question the credibility of your news site. Yes, it wasn’t a clean party, yes, they were thugs. But, by merely attacking them without proper source or a legit visible source, like name how you got the information, or tell us who told you’ll or put out a press video of source speaking to you’ll.. Cause right now I’m questioning the credibility of your site. All you say is a source said this and accuse the ex president. Yesterday’s Article mentioned he was holed up in a house in Torrington but he was on his way back to his village. Are you sure the sons are in china? Please don’t miuse the freedom of speech to start hate speech. Let the man be, he did what he could for the country and yes he did wrong too and he will be served. Hate speech and articles and blaming him will just create more divisions like the whole part riots and traitor division currently being talked about, depending on who the people voted for.

Very well said. There must be justice for those who were killed, kidnapped, or missing. Their loved ones deserve closure and due justice. The new government must show others that one cannot resort to such crimes and get away with it, and that Sri Lanka is a land of laws that everyone, even the wealthy politicians, must follow. Scoundrels like the BBS must be held accountable for the hate speeches, and ensuing attacks on non Buddhists and places of worship belonging to other religions. These types of racist crimes must not be tolerated in our country. This election simply showed us all, that together everyone, of all religions, can get together and work in a united manner towards a goal, as Sri Lankans. Being divisive like the Rajapaksa’s was their downfall. Their stupidity in encouraging and protecting the yellow robed supremacist, backfired on them. A well deserved ending.

Yes- I am quoting above quotes and Champika says only minority votes was 10 %.
I am not a statistician and I will wait to get the approximate number of minorities who would have voted for MS. On the face it it appears that 90% of the minorities including the Muslims who live outside the North and East voted for MS. They did it despite the fear of revenge if MR wins.Particularly Muslims living among the majority community was fearful of the reprisals. Alutgama was not far away from their memory. Are they trying to forget the 90 % of minorities who voted for HE Maithripala.
In the past generally particularly the UNP took the ordinary Muslims for granted. Ordinary Muslims want to be treated as equal citizens and they are not looking for concessions. They want to live without fear. I am not talking about the Muslim politicians, I am speaking about the ordinary voter who voted for MS. Before the Muslim politicians joined MS, ordinary Muslims had DECIDED whom to vote. If the Muslim politicians had not joined MS, they would have been marginalised by the Muslims. So they were compelled to join.
It was sickening to see them hovering around MS when he took the oaths. At least Azath Sally campaigned for MS from the beginning, but the others who joined at the last moment to save their faces were showing their faces to the camera. I do not know whether MS or RW read these columns, please ignore these new friends but do not ignore the Muslims who sufferred under the previous regime and voted for you all in the hope that you will maintain the rule of law and treat all including the Muslims with justice like you would treat all other citizens.

You belong to a very tiny group (handful) of sinhalese, like Bahu and Jude Lal, who are NOT bigoted racists.
While your hopes are admired the reality is MS will soon follow his predecessors and continue with the anti-Tamil policies. Otherwise the ignorant masses will rise up against him (not that he needs any such reason)!

    Hi Ajit

You want “all corrupt politicians and officials, murderers, rapists and racketeers who had amassed fortunes under the Rajapakse Regime” to be “duly prosecuted and punished for their abominable crimes against the people and the country”. That is a good call.

But, I bet this would not happen because many of these very same corrupt politicians, murderers, rapists and racketers who amassed fortunes under the Rajapakse regime made this victory possible. Take the case of that bastard from Mannar. Rumours are that he thrived under the Rajapakse rule and fattened. He threatened the Mannar magistrate and got away with it. Now he will be rewarded by the UNP-Sirisena administration with another plum ministerial post. The same would go for the SLMC leader who is rightly called a ‘political prostitute’. He will once again invoke Quran and happily join the UNP-Sirisena administration. No qualms.

Already many are very busy spreading the feeling among the innocent masses that Muslim fundamalists and voters supportive of LTTE brought victory to Hon. President Maithree, but factually he polled almost 85% from Sinhala Districts and the balance 15% only from North & the East. Surendra, you need to change the mindset of them. Arms of the law will reach all who betrayed.

First, let me put it out there that I voted for the incumbent president. I also understand that there was high level of corruption under the governance of former president and country needed a change.

However, I am truly disgusted by the way the writer has discussed about rajapakses vs maithripala sirisena and rest of his team. While he continues to bash the rajapakses, he use the term “madam” Chandrika to a person who virtually did nothing to this country. Respect all or respect none. At the end of the day just like Chandrika Kumaratunge, Mahinda Rajapakse was a former president of Sri Lanka elected by the people so we should give him the due respect.

If this does not change Colombo Telegraph will be no better than Rupavahini or ITN.

Thank you for taking us the readers into what had happened in the tensed wee hours of 9th. In the absence of any information, we knew something serious was going on. Although the results of the Tamil regions were coming one by one in the Tamil daily, Verakesari, mostly post votes, not much was in offer. And then there was a message to say, there appeared to be some concerns regarding releasing rest of the postal votes as it would tend to create some tensions. Nothing on the other English papers; daily news carried previous night story saying the election was one of the peaceful one. The first news of any relevance of election was appeared in CT, which was that MR was to dissolve the parliament before he goes out. In a few minutes of puzzles about as to who won, came he concedes. Thought me too that he does a great thing even before full results have been put out. Not sure about Sinhalese papers or web sites. Thought why he called Ranil, what sort of protocol that was unheard of before was being followed? Although Daya was in jitters, had he said yes then with the support of Jagath, the situation could have spun out of control, even out of control of MR, kind of episode world saw in Pakistan. What you says is it went to the knife edge, luckily, by sheer luck, bad thing didn’t happen. Had it happened, not only MR and his cabals lives, other innocent civilian lives would have lost? How naïve is this guy, to hold on to power he put everyone else lives also in tenterhook. Once such discussion and pleading started with military, even Ranil would have been kept in gun point along with MR, to heed militarys’ orders. Perhaps, these top brasses knew there was support from area commandos. Last time they cooked up a coup to arrest SF, this time they appeared to have done a real one but, have they done a get away with it?.

Shouldn’t this incident fully investigated and punished those who recklessly led the situation to the brink of a catastrophic end? The election commissioner, whose deeds and words in the days leading up to the election not only matched but also amply demonstrated that the undemocratic ways and means is not an option to get to the top until he was in control, full credit for him. Perhaps this stand of his didn’t allow any space for the foxes to work out anything solid quickly, may have resulted in the flopping. The police was also seemed to have played per the rules leading up to the election, seemed IGP stood up tall. Just because nothing untoward happened doesn’t mean everything well and safe, a disaster averted by actions of a few people, who exposed their lives to unacceptable risk. The fact MR’s hastily moved to his own dent in Hambantoda explains why he did this, he thought it was much safer to be in his village than being in Colombo, as he felt when this type of news gets started leaking his family’s and his life will be in potential danger. Is not it a despotic behavior? So much for the respect for will of the people.
On another note, failure of MS and RW to mention even a word about Tamils contribution for their victory at the swearing in ceremony while mentioning everyone else is not something out of dementia, but was regarded as a deliberate disregard. Do we need this at this very beginning? TNA would have been pissed off, they have put themselves at a great risk dismissing even some sections of Diaspora Tamils to boycott the election. How do you build a good will? Do they want to hug Douglas, Sivaji and the drama queen who haven’t got much on the top, so think easy to be manipulated and helped passed their time while in power. This is the kind of reluctance let the mainstream extremists to raise their ugly heads up and making a resolution out of reach.

Sincere thanks to you Mr. Surendra Ajit Rupasinghe for your honest and open minded opinion. We need more people to think practically like you, without any kind of filthy racism. You are the real nationalist and not like the fake ones.

“The victory would belong particularly to the Tamil people in the North-East and the Hill Country and the Moslem people – the oppressed nationalities, who had faced the most terrible abuse, exploitation and terrorist repression under the rule of the Emperor. The Hill Country Tamil population are to be saluted for routing Thondaman, their most direct terrorist overlord and drunken enforcer.”

    Thank you for your line above;

Yes indeed. these people only made the difference, help oust the dictator and brought the victory to Hon. Sirisena!

Has he already started sidelining all the minority community or has some other strategy ?

Appreciate your real understanding and honesty. Many people do not think or analyze the way you did it, because they are biased and (sorry to say) the racism is blinding them to see the fact.

Hon. Maithripala, RW, CBK combo should understand that at least now and do the right thing. Hope Champika or Sarath Fonseka cooperate with this regime, without any fuss about giving the rightful and deserving recognition to the long oppressed , badly suffered minority Tamil, Muslim, upcountry Tamils and Sinhala Christians.

Hon Maithri not thanking or even mentioning the Tamils, Muslims, upcountry Tamils and Sinhala Christians for his victory is not taken lightly by them. Mr Mano was upset, frustated and openly complained to RW.

Hope our new president will realize his mistake and correct it. He is not only the President for the majority. He should be thankful to the minorities. Their votes only made the difference.

Remember how Pirabakran made Rajapakse the president by asking Tamils not to vote for any one in 2005 ?

This time TNA asked the Tamils to vote and Maithri won !

Minorities only decide the outcome of any elections . Politicians should not forget that. Let see how these new people are going to treat the minority Lankans without playing the same old political cheating tricks carried out continuously by all successive racist dominated bad governments ?!

Hope these guys do something different , good for the people and the whole nation.

We need more of Rupasinghes today. Thank you Sir !

Hi Bruz now it is time to ask Jagathasoka the great writer from US to come back with good articles – we are all in our element from yesterday day on. No need to stay feared being journalists now. I hope you could pass the message to him since you were close to him that time. I also one who like JA s articles be them against the MR regime or anything. His way of writing is unique to him.

There are few things that the new president should immeadiately do:
    – Request cheap justice Mohan Peiris to step down. If he refuses, impeach him.
    – Restore General Fonseka’s civic rights, army rank and privilleges
    – Prosecute the economic assasins, Ajith Cabraal and PB Jayasundera
    – Cleanse the Stock market by prosecuting notorius manipulators, Nalaka Godahewa, Dilith jayaweera, Ajith Devasurendra, Nimal Perera, Asanga Seneviratne etc. hand over this task to Mr Thilak karunaratne. He will start from where he left.
    – Appoint respected jurists to the Supreme court,. Seek the resignations of Buvaneka Aluvihare, Upali Abeyratne, Sarath De Abrew
    – Appoint respected civic leaders like Mr Jayantha Dhanapala, Prof Savithri Gunasekera, Prof sarath Wijesooriya, to independant commissions.
    – Chase away soundrels kike Kude Duminda, Raththaran, SB,Sajin Vaas, Muthuhetti, Mahindananda, Wattiarchchi from poilitics

Appreciate the detail analysis well presented. Whilst the new regime ensuring the promises made by them are delivered within 100 days they should initiate investigation into the various coruption issues, misuse of power and state resources, injustices, disappearances and murder of journalists,
Removal of the Chief Justice illegally, war crimes. Etc etc. And punish the crooks. The government must ensure the moneys, stateowned lands, vehicles etc robbed from the state must be recovered. These ill gotten wealth may not be in their names but their cronies. Ordinary people are punished even for very small crimes and why not the crooks at the highest levels.

The investigations should be from all levels, starting from ex president including their children, ministers, state secretaries, heads and other cronies in stateowned institutions etc.

Misuse of the stateowned newspapers, rsdio and tv should also be investigated and punish the evil ones.

The mass of the people have suffered enough under this regime and they should know that atleast the wicked ones have been investigated and punished.

Does this Rupasinghe call the Elite, Vellalas, Anglicans, and SLMC Muslims the oppressed poor inhabitants?

Wonder what Rupasinghe call the 6 Million who cast their vote for Rajapaksa?.

One thing for sure is the oppressed, poor in Badulla and Matale estates didn’t Vote for Sirisena..

What Rupasinghes should worry about are the JHU opportunists, who tried to subjugate our oppressed. poor rural Sinhala Buddhists to the West Worshipping UNP Mafia.

JHU Enforcer Mr Champika obviously didn’t know that Sira was going to make Ranil the PM.

Otherwise he wouldn’t have made that naive Victory statement requesting the UNP,to join him and the JHU, for “My Three Palanaya”..

Now that Ranil has become the PM do Champika, Venerables Sobitha and Rathne have a Plan B?.

Specially after this sudden appearance of super PM, despite My Three’s own media release just days before Election, to assure that he never signed any agreement with the UNP to make Ranil ONE. I mean a PM..

      K.A Sumanasekera

I find it surprising that 6,217,162 Vellala, Catholic, … have voted for Mithiri and 5,768,090, the great majority Dalit inhabitants have voted for former president MR. Am I missing something here?

Sampandan’s TNA is open for membership to all.

Christian Ranil can expedite you membership through his fellow Christian Abraham/Sambandan/Mavai.

      K.A. Sumanasekera

You are jealous with all the third grade tricks, dirty mudslinging campaign, posters, cutouts, give aways just before elections to bribe voters, buying opposition politicians, etc, etc, + use of the military power your favourite Mahinda could not win. He had to have a safe passage with the help of Ranil to save himself moving out of Temple Trees.
