Rajpal Still Editor Of Daily News, Still Getting Paid By The Taxpayers

One of the ugliest facets of the Rajapaksa regime was its conduct in the state media. Even by State media standards no others surpassed the absolute low levels that were reached by the Editor of the Daily News, Rajpal Abeynayake. From foreign leaders, ambassadors, public servants to opposition politicians have all been victims of this vitriolic individual claiming to be a journalist. even die hard supporters of the Rajapaksa regime such as Dayan Jayatilleka have been called donkey by in the Daily News editorial.

Rajpal

Rajpal

Even more preposterous is the retention of Rajpal Abeynayake as the editor of the Daily News. It is reliably learnt from sources within the Lake House that Abeynayake continues to function as the Editor of the paper and is now writing its editorials. Not known for any principles, integrity or values, Abeynayake has no qualms about pandering to his new masters as long has he is paid and his privileges continued. In 180 degree turn from his unquestionable defence of the Rajapaksa regime, including the anti-Muslim massacre in Aluthgama, Abeynayake has now taken to topics such as ethnic harmony, reconciliation, good governance and demilitarization.

In the later part of the election cycle he called Muslim MP’s who supported candidate Sirisena Pigs and then went on to apologize to Pigs. He has called President Sirisena a traitor, an Eelamist, a crook and a cowered among many other names.

Abeynayake has been involved in numerous scandals during the Rajapaksa regime. Famously he got mugged at a brothel in Geneva during an all expenses paid trip to cover the Human Rights Council sessions in 2012. He and Bandula Jayasekera, another Rajapaksa mouth piece had visited the establishment again with tax payer money when they faced the misfortune.

RE: Rajpal Still Editor Of Daily News, Still Getting Paid By The Taxpayers

He was a shill and Whitewashers for Medamulana MaRa.

Can he be a shill and whitewasher for the “common regime”? Is is damaged beyond repair?

If so, can he climb coconut tress? There is a huge demand for coconut pluckers. More respectable than Shilling.

      Are these facts ?

Then Prez Sirisena should be suffering from Demencia of new form.

4th force of a govt is said to be the media.

If Prez Sirisena et al would further delay in taking due actions against Rajapal, [Edited out] and the others.. nothing will work to the betterment of their good governance.
All the synergies of the current regime can succeed them – painting a new picture in the hearts of the people – if theyy miss any of the crucial steps -not being taken accordingly, it is like cutting their neck by themselves.

Kerala wants Sri Lankan coconut pluckers

      http://www.sundaytimes.lk/091115/FinancialTimes/ft37.html

A recent newspaper article spoke of Kerala planning to recruit Sri Lankan coconut pluckers a development which will surely gladden the hearts of this small community of skilled workers that is making a silent but significant contribution to the national economy.

The announcement of the Kerala State that it is prepared to recruit pluckers from neighbouring countries offering high perks has given our pluckers international recognition. This is not the first time that coconut pluckers are in the limelight. Over 50 years ago when that outspoken, one time prime Minister Sir John Kotalawala was told that the coconut industry was suffering from a dearth of pluckers, his famous quip was, “They have all entered Parliament.”

Whilst Kotalawala’s intention was to discredit the 1956 Parliament, he perhaps little realized that he was emphasizing that Parliament had ceased to be the preserve of the elite and become truly representative of the ordinary people. By saying so he also paid a compliment to the coconut pluckers.

Lets not forget that it was Robert Knox who stated, “Wash the mud off the peasant cultivator, he is fit to sit on the Throne”! Today with this new recognition that our coconut pluckers have earned, if Knox had been living, he would have said, “Take the ring (Walalla) off his ankles and dress him in a white suit, a coconut plucker is fit to be a minister”!

Today Sri Lanka professes to be a truly egalitarian society honouring all manner of rights, fundamental rights, human rights and what not.

The time has come indeed, like the State of Kerala to look up to our coconut pluckers not only literally but metaphorically too. The uniformed gentry of the Police and Armed Services who are compelled to salute politicians who have criminal records and often resort to low and disgraceful behaviour, should have no qualms in saluting our honourable coconut pluckers!

dcn – This low-life resign???? You gotta be kidding!! Scum like this have no clue as to what ‘honor’ means. They will sell themselves for whatever pittance they can, regardless of who is in power. Just imagine what it takes to slander and insult one lot and then to do an about turn, join the lot he was slandering and start to praise them. I guess it takes all kinds, but this kind of whore-mongering we can surely do without.

The sooner this s..t-head is terminated, the better off Lake House and its readership will be.

Rajpal Abeynaike reduced the CDN to the level of the gutter. It was absolutely venomous filth he was dishing forth to the public of Sri Lanka who paid money to receive the news of the day.

His removal should really have been one of the first moves as fresh winds swept this island. It would have been merely a matter of putting things right, and not vengeance at all. A matter of doing the right thing by the reading public.

I can never forget the absolute crude manner in which he allowed the CDN to refer to a notable personage of this present government by using that person’s sexual orientation as an object of ridicule on the front pages of the CDN.

Nothing, absolutely nothing could have been lower than that.

St Thomas’ might have produced some fine gents in its time, but will be better remembered in recent years for the scum it produced as well. No need to elaborate further on that.

Another ‘rogue’ media man in Sudharman of ITN fame. Producer of Thulawe program, now referred to as a Thuwale (stench rotting wound) program. That man eats the cake where corruption and scooping to the lowest level to please politicians is concerned. To truly understand his true character, all you need to watch the latest from ‘Balumgala’ expose on youtube.

Why only Rajpal, Dinesh Weerawansa of the Sunday Observer who called Sirisena a traitor is still the editor. Now he goes behind the ‘Royal’ Cabinet Ministers to remain in his seat. He was just a sports reporter and suddenly became the editor of the paper thanks to MR gooney Bandula Jayasekara. These men’s tongues need to be preserved to exhibit them as traitor of journalism. Yes….. pigs are still flying

Rajpal is a gutty journalist who did a lot for the country. His calibre is hard to find. He does not need any affirmation from anybody, he is a person with integrity and confidence, Most of the time he fought for the country single handedly and he did not suffer fools gladly, good for him. He had his own way of doing things and those who nenver read the Daily News started reading it after he took over. Good men were always blamed and attacked by lesser men with petty jealousies. Even Buddha.

If the new government is to be believed, they should divest all interest in the media that were once state owned. Sell them off to private individuals, cheaply and in small packets in order to ensure diversity and unbiased reporting.

I am miffed by the moderator’s high-anded decision not to publish my non-defamatory canvassing for the suspension of the editors of the DN and the SO for their relentless misuse of editorials for dissemination of propaganda. They spurned the sila dimension of the magga–Right Action, Right Speech and Right Livelihood although they professed to defend Buddhism.

Buddhist justice demands their rehabilitation. Let them learn that they have no self and help train them in mindful meditation. Both of them have proved that they aren’t suited to be the chief editors. Demote them to positions where they can learn the virtues of humility.

It is a big shame that these two are holding posts. Sunday Observer Editor’s wealth needs to be examined by the Bribery and Corruption Commission. How he who came in a small Maruti have luxurious vehicles and a supper luxury house. How he could have a gala year end party. He used his family pictures in the paper at the events. He used the perks and privileges as the SO editor to the max. Paper which sold over 126,000 when he took over dropped t0 46,000 showing how he abused the paper to MRs propaganda.

He had two drivers – one to bring him office and the other two drop his wife and children. He treated them like in the military where the drivers don’t have time for a proper meal as they have to be ever ready to serve their masters. He has two female secretaries – one came from Sinhala section is sleeping throughout the day time. The burger sub editor who corrected his broken English editorial was promoted to the post of Associated Editor, is a strong MR supporter.

It is amazing this burger man is now expecting the editor post running the paper. Now there is no strong supporter like him to President Sirisena. He is the same person who edited the ‘traitor’ series which wrote against the President Maithripala Sirisena. Rogues are still having a upper hand at the SO and CDN.

While there are enough news are there to highlight still the SO is running old stall stories which no one reads. It needs a new capable hand to run.

As the Green Valley Guy proposed these two editors should be demoted and the burger man who is on contact should not be given renewal. These are still hidden cells of MR that will cowedly operate to protect MR.

President Sirisena this is over to you to save these two once prestigious papers.
