Ranil’s Private Secretary Quits In Disgust And Dismay, Reveals ‘All’ In Resignation Letter – Full Text Of The Letter

Sudath Chandrasekara who has served as Ranil Wickremesinghe‘s Private Secretary and UNP Communication Director and has been his right hand man for 33 years has tendered his resignation after being relegated to ‘Special Assistant’ at the UNP’s headquarters, Sirikotha.

Sudath and Ranil

Chandrasekera’s letter, dated March 19, 2018, mentions numerous services rendered to party and leader as well as a long list of complaints.

Chandrasekara, a Police Sub Inspector at Batalanda in the late eighties, takes responsibility for defending Wickremesinghe at various critical political moments over the period mentioned, including the provision of security during the 88-89 period of terror ‘at great personal risk,’ deploying a special communications team to counter adverse publicity and leading the infamous ‘kurundu polu’ (cinnamon club) attack at Matara on a group of party dissidents engaged in a protest march.

As a result, he claims, he earned sobriquets such as ‘The Batalanda Murderer,’ ‘Gamini Athukorale’s Murderer,’ ‘Murderer of Rienzie Algama who set fire to himself and died at Sirikotha,’ and ‘Ranil’s Red-Lipped Ass-Boy’.

Chandrasekara however, expresses gratitude to Wickremesinghe for having given him Rs 100,000 and helping him enroll his daughter at a leading private school in Colombo even in the midst of his (Wickremesinghe’s) mother’s funeral.

Letter clearly shows Ranil’s hidden charachter and also how he uses people to protect his leadership through thuggery.
The author admits to using undemocratic means to keep his master in power and this is a VERY GOOD LESSON for people who suck upto politicians.

      Media focuses only on Ranil.

Former mafia king stays cool .. not being subjected to deliberate crimes commited on broad day light.

Current President not to have appointed Sarath Fonseka and Ranjana Ramanayaka for Law and Order should be a coward act.
His election by 6.2 million voter eligible in this country is totally betrayed.
There RW has nothing to do.
He has to protect him, and his party while thugs got elected with his support today see other way around.
Sirisena is as Dr Dambare Amila reiterates is no means honest enough to deliver his pledges.
That is the problem we face today.
We need a fearless, POWERFUL leader to put the former set in jail and see it further.
Just bending like an eagle, President would not succeed anything.
The loads of debts left behing by Ballige PUtha Rajpaakshe is on the shoulder of current DUO, but nothing about that being MADE clear to the nation for some reASONS:
These media men are 100000000000000000000000000000000% biased on their pay masters.
Free media should not be abused by them… as the 3 rd force to lead the nation.

This also exposes Mangala Samaraweera’s true charachter. These people are foremost lecturers on democracy & fairplay. But instead uses thuggery to protect their self interests.

So we get a better picture of the “godfather” from those who worked very closely with him. Mahinda should get hold of this guy and get him to spill the beans on RW. There will be interesting tales to hear of boys, booze,Batalanda tortures, and betrayals. One unintended consequence of the letter in Sinhalese on CT is that it has exposed some of the regular commentators masquerading under Sinhala names but attaching Sinhalese interests just to show that they did not emerge from Tamil sources. They have been exposed. All this suggests that the end is near for You and Pee. Here we go on the sliding slope
PS Will somebody cc the letter to theShyman.

Why now, after 33 years? Please think about the timing of this. Most likely this is an addendum to the “No confidence motion” in the Parliament. Wonder how much (I mean Rs,) was involved.

I have read two articles of CT with interest. One is by Shyamon Jayasinghe on “Why Ranil Is Still Needed”. The other is the present one. Two contrasting pictures. I wonder what Mr. Shyamon Jayasinghe has to comment on this letter.

Sudath, Thank you, though belated this is the best eye opener for the UNP in particular and for the country in general, but it is a pity that some are still singing the praises of this selfish so called UNP leader. I think the ousted President MR has made best use of this man RW, he might have been his political Guru and his dealings with RW in politics has caused raised eye brow surprises to the diligent UNP ers. President would not have found a better man to implement his hidden agenda and that is why he with out even batting an eye lid ventured to go his own way with the past regime arranging a meeting with them almost immediately after he was sworn in. That was his first notable betrayal perhaps second only to that of Judas. Now coming back to the resignation letter of PM ‘s Private Secretary it is not only making ripples in the rank and file in the UNP but a ‘Sunami’ causing irreparable damage. Wonder if his Royal buddies and other confidants in his kitchen cabinet would come up with a disaster management proposal. or will the PM entrust it to Sagala as he has done in the past. In my opinion I think UNP should safeguard the interest of the Private Secretary who appears to have done yeomon service to UNP. he deserves a better position replacing the utter corrupt men holding responsible positions in the Party. If the UNP is sincere in their resolute the UNP caucas should engage in a soul searching exercise in the best interest of the country and showing the door to corrupt elements irrespective of their present standing. If they cannot make this radical change the only option for the UNP sympathiser is to follow the example of the Private Secretary Sugath. Many a time we have seen valuable write ups and comments in CT but these political Crocs. don’t seem to care a damn.

This will have a huge impact as high moralists like Karu Jayasuriya, Ajith Perera, Sujiva Senasinghe and Thalatha Athukorala will now think twice before voting at No Confidence.

    Sounds ominous.
Ranil Wickremesinghe must tell us as to why his Private Secretary and UNP Communication Director, Sudath Chandrasekara, was transferred as ‘Special Assistant’ at the UNP Headquarters, Sri Kotha.
Has RW’s inner circle been planted with spies?

Everyone, for goodness sake, don’t call him gota.

A thief of unprecedented proportion, murderer, abductor, womaniser and a drunkard should not be called by such a decent name.

call him goda (kasippuwa) or baya gotha.(deadly fearsome nuisance)

This is only an Assistant Secretary-after all! Cannot understand why the media has picked up this insignificant man to attack Ranil. Good material for Dayan Jayatilleka as he can add this Assistant Sec to the Great grandchild of DS as his list of resources

Surely, the motivation of Chandarasekera in writing and releasing this letter is absolutely irrelevant apart from shedding light on his veracity. The one and only question is whether the allegations are true. The UNP should constitute an independent committee comprised of retired judges to inquire and report. Otherwise, the people will be treated to another farce like the Pitipana Committee!

    Sudath,

I can understand your deep rooted frustration, and your subsequent breaking point, given your commitment to the cause of the UNP, and more specifically to Ranil W. All those sobriquets must have being really irritating you and your personal life and I thank god that it was in an era where there was no social media activity, else your image would’ve been demolished beyond recovery within 24 hours.

I was a member of the “Think Tank” that you went onto form during those difficult times, wherein a selected group of top professionals were asked to formulate the forward strategy for the party, and in a future government.
We spent many hours in deliberation, and came out with a fifteen (15) point strategy and presented to Ranil W ( RW).

I distinctly remember RW browsing through our fifteen point strategy framework, and dismissing it outright within one minute. That was the point in time when I decided that being a member of the UNP Think Tank” under RW , was a mere waste of my time (and others as well).

I’ve been political neutral for some years since.

I am now aligned with “Viyath Maga”, thus offering my knowledge on strategy and forward action plans for a future government since they seem to listen to the “voice of the people”.

    Sudath,

Your commitment to RW over so many years demands a salute, but I still wonder as to why you have been dear and faithful to RW, over so many years, despite the shames, negligence, personal discreditations you’ve suffered in working for him.

How true was Nanda, playing her compliments to our Sinhala politicians that betray their own people: at the time it was the Uncle JR running an (A)-Dharmishta Raajyaya (reign). Her songs were banned from the government controlled Radio Broadcasts, and he sent her to oblivion suppressing her work. We know what the thugs and Green Tigers did to thousands of youth, chaired by Batalanda Mob led by Ranil. Now almost 40-yr later, it is the Nephew Ranil running a Yahapaalu Raajyaya (reign) showing his birth and family alents, who has been and still managing a thuggish Kurundu Polu Brigade as well as a Brigade of Bank Robbers and national asset strippers. The thuggish blood and external white sil redda and platter of jasmine trait runs in the family. Outside Image of a “sil gaththa poosa” (pious cat), but inside the psyche and actions of “yakku” (demons). I hope the people will take note …this description does not exonerate Paksha Rajas or Self Preserving Sirisenas …… poojasanaye oba hinduwaa…..when will be your fall … Let it be a lesson and eye opener for the blind and so ignorant chronic party supporters, as well as to the other yakku politicans that sit in the House of Devils. Nandaa, please come back and sing this song louder this time,

I am against all leaders in the country.

We only need a man from CIVIL sorciety to take the lead and make pensioners all the former set.
But lanken folks would never allow that. They would get caught by the tricnks being played by Baellige putha Rajapakshe et al. Latter vicioius and highly abusive men would even market human flesh on broad day light by promoting their war victory.
Latter was the case them to send the message across to punnaku eaters dominated country.

I wonder why Thisu and the like men with Brains too get in to the bangwagon of Rajapakshes.

We want a country free from Rajaakshe rascals.

Compared to MR &Co, Tamils thought RW was a gentleman in the current batch of political leaders in South. Without the presence of VP &Co, the South is sinking all the way to the bottom of the Indian Ocean while desperately searching for its own identity. It seems VP’s violent history in fact helped the South to get a free pass to hide its pathetic state. Tamils should thank India for helping to remove the road blocks so that the world now got a chance to witness the sorry state of South!

Can’t understand anything of what’s written. But the fact that ol’ Ranil had to give him money and influence to get into our very “fine” Colombo schools is a thing of much consternation: Why are the outstation Sinhala Mass so completely cut off, and far removed from the schooling and culture of their very own capital city?

  • 3

I cannot understand how those who contemplate such violence like Mahinda,, Gota, RW and others are able to sleep comfortably at night when the widows and children of people they had murdered suffer everyday. Let us hope that Buddhist Karma catches up with them. If not, Maybe, as the Christians would say, the mills of God will grind them exceedingly small. They are a curse upon this country. They killed thousands of young Sinhalese, then Tamils and have started on the Muslims. Where and when is this going to end? Gota and Mahinda even want to come back and we have their next generation to follow. Why can’t we have war crimes trials against the politicians only and leave the army, police and navy out of it as they were only carrying out orders. (though superior orders is no defence, as the court held in the Kataragama Be auty Queen Case)

The letter is from a low level employee who is disgruntled that he was transferred to a different position.

He says that Ranil did not listen to his advise. Why should he?

He says Ranil did not give jobs to his supporters. Isn’t that the biggest problem we have in Sri Lanka? Most Government jobs are occupied by misfits (political appointees). If Ranil did not make political appointments, then we must applaud him.

An Open Invitation to Readers: Can anyone out there, please TRANSLATE into English one, only one sentence appearing in the above Sinhala letter. The relevant sentence is in page 6, paragraph 2, last sentence which reads as: ” Ranilge Thol Rathu, Pook Kolla Viya. E Mata Labuna Dhanayai, Keerthiyai”. Thank you.

I Heard when Mahinda Rajapakse lost it was because of a massive Computer manipulation of results by some powerful foreign force. Evidence available. Even PResident knows. Another PResidential administrator during the election new that they were not allowed to the computer room. This was carried out by the country which believes in Holy communion (new trend). PResident Mahinda Rajapakse had won by filling ballot boxes with fake ballots and army women’s force has carried out the filling boxes. VVIPs from thirappane, Medirigiriya. Beliaththa, Marakolliya… Now, they want us to open a polythene recycling plant in the upcountry. .

All this is very sad. Sudath Chandresekera has become bitter by his own failure to recognise that his usefulness is now past his sell-by-date. If he looks around him he would see some 20 people in similar positions of ‘usefulness’ to the master RW. They will all serve their time, then gracefully ‘retire’. Inevitably, new people will take their place. Nearly all of them have had their service rewarded, and they know the score. Sudath served RW well, and his time has now come. As someone of limited ability, he has done well, and should have been thankful for the opportunity. A sad and sour ending to many years of loyal service.
