Saruwa Sunil Now Bats For Yahapālanaya: Wife Gets Nomination From Sirisena

In a farcical turn of events, President Maithripala Sirisena has sanctioned nominations for the wife of Saruwa Liyanage Sunil (Saruwa Sunil) to contest for the Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha election.

Saruwa Sunil

Saruwa Sunil is the former Chairman of Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha who alleged to have hosted a party after raping 100 virgins.

Although Saruwa Sunil publicly denied the 100 virgins allegation, he was prosecuted for a child abuse case in the Colombo High Court.

President Maithripala Sirisena claimed that the party had fielded clean candidates for the Local Government election. Addressing a public meeting, Sirisena even went on to say that he was ready to go from house to house urging the public to vote for SLFP.

At the Presidential election in 2015, the speakers of the common opposition whose candidate was Sirisena ridiculed former Presiedent Mahinda Rajapaksa for not taking action on Saruwa Sunil despite child abuse and sexual assault allegation.

They assured that under Sirisena’s presidency, good governance would prevail and culprits would go to jail.

Interestingly, at the Local Government election, Saruwa Sunil has aligned himself with the SLFP group supporting Sirisena.

Colombo Telegraph learns that Saruwa Sunil will handle the UPFA’s election campaign in Akuressa using his wife as a ‘proxy’.

This sounds shocking, but it would be good if readers who know anything about all this, tell us what they know.

    *

Colombo Telegraph has recently been blowing out of all proportion negative stories about Maithri – for instance that thing just two days ago about son, Daham, taking to politics.

    *

Maithri has a cleaner image right now than any major players in politics, except perhaps the JVP. Stories of this nature would do him much more harm than those told about the Rajapaksas or even the UNP.

“In Sinhala Bauda Lanka where Sunday Sil: Monday Kill is an accepted norm this guy is under selling himself. He should be contesting to be the President.”

Is there a possibility we collectively can appoint/elect him the next Grant Duke of Assgiria? All what he has to do is promise to uphold Sinhala/Buddhist fascist minority’s right to bear Sinhala/Buddhism in constitution?

Rest of us must support his candidacy, it would be rapid and sure path to destruction.

          Sinhala Buddhism is a JOKE.

Did someone say there was a Bodhi Pooja to thank for his achievement. Like MR’s sons swearing about a “Manik Malle” this guy might even go to the extent of saying that he did all this with Buddha’s dick blessing them intimately.

Who is this fellow? If the story is true, how could he is not in jail serving rigorous imprisonment for life time? Child abuse cases are of serious nature. If a politician is found guilty for molesting/abusing minors or women, he should be declared persona non grata instantly disqualifying him or his family members entering into politics.
        .
Compulsory 25% women participation in the LG nomination list is IDIOTIC.
It only paves the way for nepotism in an unprecedented scale as no decent women who have no political background want to enter the male-dominated political fray. Women are abused, denigrated and slandered in the society at an alarming rate not only at work and on the road but also when seeking governmental/other services and job opportunities.
        .
There are double standards in our society when it come to gender. If a woman is opinionated in the public sphere, men line up to slander her purely to suppress her voice. What would happen if she enters into politics? No woman want to subject their families to the same harassment they face.
        .
On the other hand, women who were elected to Parliament have also proved that they were utterly useless. There are three women holding important political office at present; Justice, Women’s Affairs, Child Affairs (State). The latest study shows that a child/woman is raped every four hours (stand for correction). The female Justice Minister is someone who believes that women slavery in the ME should continue as it is the largest income for the government!!! Their hapless children at home being subject to molestation is not her concern!
        .
We don’t need mere Sarees in politics; what we need is inspirational women who have the grit, tenacity, resilience and initiative who could remove the male-dominated glass barrier in our society.

        Dear Leonard,

I’m NOT defending Maithri “at any cost”. This report about the Akuressa candidate is serious, is what I’ve said.

How I will vote in my Uva town I haven’t yet decided. I’m not there at the moment, but I will find out what sort of people are contesting, and if dissatisfied, my vote goes to the JVP -first time ever. Others keep harking back to what the JVP did almost thirty years ago. Even their advocate “Singhalese Pandit” has said that they ought to aplogise for those actions. I don’t bother to go in to those details, but I have read up on Green Politics as I promised about fourteen hours ago. I am determined to keep thinking independently, and I will vote only having weighed all choices. Have you not realised yet that there are guys like me who may express views regularly, but not for gain?

Champa writes a lot, and gets insulted by many, but not by me, because my assessment is that he is sincere in his views, although he and I seem quite often to come to different conclusions. For instance, what he’s said about a quota for women in the nomination lists. All his observations are spot on. Despite that, I’d say that it is a beginning of sorts.

This Saruwa Sunil guy seems to be a disgrace; so I’ve drawn attention to Buddhika Pathirana who seems to be the decent UNP parliamentarian from that area. Three months ago, I didn’t even know Buddhika Pathirana’s name. Yet now I keep mentioning it, without even having caught sight of him, because people whose judgement I respect have drawn my attention to his existence.

However, I have not yet moved to an anti-Maithri stance. I am appalled at the Sunil nomination, and none of the comments coming in has put up a defence of him. So vote against that party in that place – and make inquiries about what’s happening in your area.

Unfortunately for us Yahapalanaya voters it is true. Saruwa Sunil has been indicted for child abuse and has also been charged with rape. We shouldn’t be surprised by the President’s hypocrisy though. After all – It’s politics – All in a day’s work for them.

        Thanks, Citizen Kane,

Yes, I have had independent confirmation from five independent sources that most of what has been said is true.

I’ve got to do some checking about the story of how the first from the Rajapaksa family entered “Parliament” – the State Council in those days. Don Mathew R. was a proctor’s clerk, wasn’t he?

Was the proctor there before him? I guess it’s too far back in history to get information.

      Saruwa Sunil,

In the classic Lankan way ………..Jayawewa.

Hope more and more virgins come your way. …………. If the first citizen of the country wants it …… who are we to deny ye?

If you got the largest number of preferential votes that’s what the SL people want too ……… They can’t vote for you and then deny ye your privileges …….. They get what they vote for …….They didn’t vote for Budda; now did they?

With a guy like ya, it’s difficult even to feign distaste …………. Dunno what your special talent is …….it seems you are popular with all the presidents! Wanna let out your secret? ………. might come in handy.

SLFP fraction or supporters of current govt should be brain sick to allow the kind oof men and their kith and kin to get nominated, forgetting almost everything.
They just want to focus on the votes. That is it.

Bastards that have made harm to young women must not be neglected, should rather be hung by their balls leaving a lession to any future threats of that nature.

Why police did not work accordingly ? IF THAT was in SAudi, they would have taken his genitals away.

I think if as being said, this paritcular guy raped that many virgins, he should be kept in prison today…

why people cant get together and stand gainst get the bugger imprisoned ?

Stupid folks… the kind of passive people would not b efound even poverty stricken africa.

I think we are though buddhist dominated country, culture, but it is high time to introduce new laws controlling all forms of high criminals.

This culture seems to be promoting rapists, chain stealers, gold business men and women, high profile frausters, not a single reform being added to marginalize high criminals.
      Why ?
EU and eu countries each bring new laws and reforms almost every month if they find there are pot holes, but our people except few young personalities of UNP seem not even thinking of it. why ?
People behave like animals regardless of where they are, when there are no laws in action… is common to anywhere in the world right ?

Police has no spine that is why ?

I think need of the hour is to double the pay of POLICE and ask police to finally deliver the job as people expected state to go for after driving away Rajapaskhe goons. Rajapkshes allowed police to work with their ground root level thugs killing unknown numbers in the post war scenrios.
Those Kahawatta village met with consecutive killings are still in my head whenever I read lanken news . Anyways, even the current govt did not focus on the issues, since they had to deal with all the high profile cases where Rajapakshes have to respond their answers.

This wife of Saruwa Sunil is the one who organized a “Bodhi Pooja” to “celebrate” the 100th “rape” event. That could have been to get rid of the menace of this sex starved animal. Of course the High Priest of the temple REFUSED to stage the event inside the temple premises. Not to be beaten by that refusal of the priest, she organized the “Bodhi Pooja” outside and mind you there was a LARGE CROWED in attendance. I have no doubts of her winning a seat in the Local Government Institution considering the BLESSINGS of the President of the country PLUS the “MERITS” derived from that “Bodhi Pooja”.

      Dear Singhalese pundit,

I’ve got that message of yours all right.

I feel that one misgiving many have is the length to which the SAITM issue was taken. It looks as though the JVP is not averse to coercing young guys when it gets the opportunity.

Could you please start thinking of what to say on that score. Not necessarily in relation to this article, but when some issue relevant to Education and the Organisation of Trade Unions, Strikes etc come up.

The recent record of the JVP has been good, and this is a genuine request.

max – you seem to be like a person who ” sees a spec of dust- polkenda- in someone’s eye but cannot see the monster piece of garbage- pol paralaya- in your own”. Yes JVP has done a few foolish things in the past but today’s leadership has clearly denounced those acts and even apologised to the people. Has anyone from the 2 mainstream parties ever done that?. Instead we see denials from MR and his cronies, and also from RW and his cronies all the time that their hands are clean. They are largely a bunch of thugs, criminals and robbers who are in power to feather their owns nests, MR & RW included. This time, like so many others I have decided to make a change and give JVP a chance so they can ‘walk their talk’ where others have miserably failed over the past 69 years. We know that ” at least they will not rob our country” so there is no downside. As voters we must get rid of voting for parties/people and instead chose those who have set principles and policies to run our country.

          Navive Sudda,

I agree whole-heartedly with what you say, PLUS there is the fact that the typical “life-long UNPer” can’t even comprehend the problems faced by the disadvantaged in society. Some of them are quite sincere guys. But beware those who have crossed over from other parties: they are the professional politicians – the bane of our country.

The typical “life-long SLFP supporter” understands those problems, but doesn’t try to solve them for the whole of society. He tries to benefit himself, manipulate facts, and hold on to the little gains he has made. Usually a racist, and the minorities, knowing this, will for ever be forced to seek for ways to survive in the short-term, and sabotage in the long-term.

I’m still convinced that Maithri is one of the better representatives of the SLFP. Somewhat controlled by those family values, which dictate that his relatives should benefit from his position – but he’s got a conscience. He’s done his family proud, MUST quit politics in 2020, as promised. Yet, the way he’s become President, he’s had to compromise. Nominating the wife of this “Saruwa Sunil” seems one such compromise.

We must help Maithri understand the gravity of what he’s done; the voters of the Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha are the ones who can do it – by ensuring that this spouse of Saruwa Sunil gets as few votes as possible. If, after extensive inquiries made by me, I find that he’s not nominated such scum in my area, I’ll start thinking about voting for Maithri’s SLFP. But that still remains a negative reason. His candidates ought also to have a broad outlook.

The problem with leftists is that while Marx was a lofty philosopher, who thought of the good of mankind in universal terms, many followers are driven by envy of those who appear to be privileged. Thus all those SAITM protests. But they may now be the best choice. I have not studied Marx – lack the intellectual capacity to do so.

Saruwas , Maruwas, Sakiliyas, Yakkos, Pakayas, Fuckayas, Horayas, etc etc etc, these are the buggers who will rule SL in the future. Their cohorts the Jarayas, Tharindus, Marindus, Sunils, Mahatuns, Madushankas and the other non nameable bastards will be the future Sri lankans roaming the country like wild animals looking for prey.
    Who is responsible ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
The educated Sri lankans who stand in line at the polls and vote these bastards into power.
If they do so then let them live with the Devil and his evil shit ( kindly please forgive the language used ) who will govern them.
What SL needs is a thorough cleansing similar to Syria.
The shit should be wiped out without mercy, no mercy shown or given and the righteous crowned with victory.
The Amudey wearers should be wiped out to the last man but mercy shown to the elderly and women folk and children..
Up yours, Wickremasinghe , Rajapaksa, Sirisena and the other bastards.

I think there is no contrast between the civilized and uncivilized in the country today.

That is why parliamentarians are so heterogenous. That is the real mirror image of lanken society.

Sure, there are some like 10% of the popuplation would respect law and order, disipline , manners, being bound to their religions… else, rest would always send their representatives to the parliament.

That is what happening in this country.

Want’s language may be unconventional but his/her anger is understandable. Every Sri Lankan, with a sane head, feels this
way. Our democracy, our one-man-one-vote system has brought
us ruin. The Buddhist clergy entering the snake-pit of politics – abandoning the serene sorroundings of the Temple – further exacerbates the conundrum. There is little hope for the country that started with such great hopes on Feb 04, 1948 – barring divine intervention.

      F.N. Stein

      Dear “want”,

I have no problem with the language used, but a “Syria-type cleansing” (has it taken place yet? The Assads still seem in control) often wreaks havoc.

The “righteous” – a heavy and learned word to be applied only to the best examples of mankind. Don’t count me in – I have my faults – like Leigh Hunt’s “Abou Ben Adhem”.

Thanks for the comment. It indicates that you have thought clearly. Yes, we are the “educated”, and it is our DUTY to keep talking about issues, so that all Saruwa Sunils are eliminated – even exterminated.

    Dear Sinhala man.
Thank you very much for your comments.
    I welcome different options.
It is part of democracy to differ but wisdom and logic should prevail.
I agree that there some negative and positive sides of JVP politics.
They did a lot mistakes in the past .I still remember while I was going to university to teach in 1988/89 time I have seen burned tyres with corps it is still my vivid memory.
    It’s all gone by now.
I feel JVP should make a public apology for that..
They are good people ..I do not know why they did not do it yet.
    They should do it now.
It could earn them more votes .
We differ with them on some issues as you mentioned.
But my logic is that compare both pros and cons of all.
Then I feel JVP has got green politics.
Please check it up what is a green politics. It is a new concept.
Green politics is not merely politics..it take entire life into politics. Politics should cover entire life from ecology to corruption free public administration.
I think you are UNP supporter.
I’m sorry to say UNP was a good party under JR & RP not any longer

    • 9
      0

I think the decent wing of the UNP is what was associated with Dudley Senanayake, and I guess we were impressed with certain aspects of JR and Premadasa.

The advantage for the UNP is that they can draw upon certain very educated and reputed groups. Buddhika Pathirana (non-practising MBBS) is also from Akuressa. I did hear that he had distributed blessed and charmed pens to students to answer the Grade 5 scholarship exam – i.e. pandering to superstitions. But that’s politics, I guess!

In other areas they have Ruwan Wijewardena (Gampaha District) who has been described to me as an epitome of integrity. Whatever the Party it is such people for whom we must indicate support. Gayantha Karunatilleke’s (Elpitiya – Galle District) reputation is good. Mahinda Samarasinghe (Kalutara – but which party?). Lastly, Sajith Premadasa is probably a more educated version of his father – although he, too, is said to have his thugs.

It’ll be good to see the ballot paper. I’m told it will be a very simple one. Also, we should be given full lists of candidates (even of the smallest, least significant parties). “Crazy Idealists” like the Social Equality Party of Dr Wije Dias, and the NSSP of Dr Vikremabahu Karunaratne – people of absolute integrity.

      Continued . . .

Yes, so it is we who must do some thinking – and even influencing others who may be confused by all these stories.

Dear “Singhalese pundit”, mine is genuinely a floating vote. It will be cast only after thinking carefully. Let’s hope that large numbers of other voters also are conscientious.

Yes, I’ll Google for “green politics”, and carefully read – it can’t be done now, but I will try to worm that out before Christmas.

Thanks for this comment of yours. The others looked partisan sloganising. I know that HOW you say things has partly to depend on the audience.

    Whats the big fuss about?
He has denied and police have not charged him for the 100 rapes. Considering the articles states these were virgins it could be presumed that these were children.
Can you believe that 200 parents plus brothers and sisters will idle by if it really happened and no action was taken?

HE was charged not his wife so should be penalized?

Good one NV. Heh! Heh! Jimmy the DIMWIT, how about myself the Wala Gemba, another quentisential goigama gamaya? I regret to share that myself minus the rascist sins like you are another SINHALA MOADAYA that would fail and I will tell you why even though tis is the bitter truth! BTW, that expression I use is not proper to offend the entire Sinha race. Nonethelss, share that infamous adage and an infamy that the “Paranagiya” branded us with. Remember the ugly words, “Sinhalaya moadaya, kavum kanna yodaya”? Unfortunately, by our own Sinhala stupidity and actions not only in politics but in every sphere, we prove, day after day that we cannot govern and we don’t have it in our genes to govern others with exemplray and inspirations values that were bestowed to us by our Lord Buddha. Therefore, it’s time we come out clean; we bury our rhetoric, racisim and bigotry, and give the governing batton to the minorities who I think is not at all a bad experiment that can go wrong on this nation. After all, do you think the majority Christian Whites in the USA did a good job electing a non-politician and a business FRAUD like Donald the DOOFUS? Overe here, can we trust the leopard that cannot shed its spots and I allude to the JVP as many irrationals think is a third political force? We will be committing hara-kiri if not all ready. This is my honest opinion and I don’t mean to offend anyone or any race if the CT wil be kind enough to publich without censoring!

        Dear NV,

You are quite right. Sirisena is the best of those you have named.

Let the public of Akuressa “do the needful”. Actually I hate that last expression – an ugly phrase used by the lazy. May there be only one vote for the group led by the spouse of Saruwa Sunil – that of Sunil himself. Or come to think of it, she can vote for it herself, can’t she; so two votes.

Although there is a reputation for virgin busting, is he a convicted criminal now? If not alas he is innocent until found guilty. If the wife supports his nefarious activities and can muster the public support what can you and I do? I may spit the guy on his face but a lot others would vote for him. This is the sad situation that no body can stop. Of course deterrent and barbaric type of punishments like hanging or Singapore style canning (where your bottom gets ripped with each stroke of the cane) may be the answer to this type of guy because independent of the public support he can muster either the guy vanishes from this world or suffers excruciating pain for his acts. But the so called civilized world would condemn us for introducing such punishments and good International relations are vital for our survival.

    • 4
      0

Legally, until he is found guilty he must be presumed to be innocent – that is nobody should harm him.

However, there are many villains against whom the evidence never surfaces. If this guy is one such, then public opinion ought to take over. There is nothing wrong in effectively ostracising a guy as nasty as this fellow appears to be.

Going on the account given here, this man has been obsessed with virgins. These would have been innocent and pious conservative Buddhist girls, NOT “experienced” women who’d been sleeping around.

It is shocking that Maithri should have nominated the collaborating wife of such a guy. It can’t be that he didn’t know about all this because those campaigning for him during the 2015 Presidential Election had used this to ridicule the sort of support that MaRa had.

I know nothing of all this personally, but I have asked readers for comments, and “Citizen Kane” has reported that this is “unfortunately true”. If Maithri has nominated this guy knowing all this, he is very much to blame.

Up to this point, we’ve going entirely on what we see in this report. The question is, was all this true?

Now comes the result of inquiries made by me. This is a wild area – there can be no doubt about that. Now comes my personal knowledge. My father had a sister who married a wealthy man from this town, Akuressa. She was widowed early. Then she was murdered, the bloated and decomposed body discovered only a week later. This was in 1962. I was but a child.

If akuressa want him, akuressa gets him(or his wife).Wonder whether wife and he are on good terms or not.If maithri has made a wrong call and she is defeated then maithri should take the responsibility.

When a thing of this nature happens (related to SLFP) it boils down to Yahapalanaya.
If there’s a slight involvement of the UNP, the total blame will be on Ranil.
Bloody hypocrites. When Ranil wanted to put a process in place in the issuance of Treasury Bonds (instead of Rajapakse’ Private Placements, he introduced the Public Auction which was later on manipulated by the MR cronies) the total blame came on to him. Sirasa who has their own agendas are slandering the PM, even his worst enemy will not condone. But there’s a thing call RETRIBUTION and they’ll have to pay with interest.

there is nothing to be surprised since the whole country knows who Sira is. No class, no brains, no English , no personality and so on

Please, Kumara, criticise the guy on other grounds than these.

I’m not sure that what you mean by class matters much.

He may not be the brainiest guy in the world, but he certainly is intelligent and well-read. Surely you should realise that if you’ve listened to him speak.. That is if you understand Sinhala.

No English. I don’t mind that too much. I think that my own English is not bad – so do you offer me the Presidency? Why on earth are we so obsessed with English?

No personality – that is a very subjective judgement.

Now, if we were to say that the leader of a country has a role to play on the world stage, and monolingual Maithri falls short on certain required criteria, now that is OK to start off on.

Kumara, please make no more statements of this sort. They could turn a normal peace-loving citizen into a Racist Xenophobe.

I think what we need here is Kuttikaran (alias Kettikaran) KK for short. He is the guy whom Late Izeth Hussain hated most and they used to have those duels like between Hector and Achilles. But I love the guy. To put it shortly KK makes things short. The means depends on the object. Here what he would suggest most probably is lopping off the damned thing at the root of all this nonsense at the root itself – the so called ‘removal of the root cause’.

I say, let us let loose KK on Saruwa instead of making all these Saruwapittala suggestions and that would be the end of all bad karma.

lets put the JVP to the test. this is the ideal occasion to vote JVP, to evaluate their performance prior to considering the party as the 3rd force in national politics. so don’t hesitate where the candidates are qualified and respected select JVP to run local Government.

JVP apart from killing so many innocent people, destroyed billions upon billions worth of public property and put the country back by so many number of years. Although they promised to take their lunch packets and travel in one van to Parliament they soon forgot after entering Parliament. It will be too late for the country to regret if they are elected. The chance is really not worth.

        Dear Gamini,

I travel in buses (and when the roads are clogged), I find that suburban trains are quicker.

Ideally we should travel mostly in public transport – that way there may still be some petrol for use in the world a hundred years from now.

Busier people may agree with all that, but still be forced to travel in chauffeur-driven cars, catching up on some sleep while travelling. Any MP is busy – but they don’t require a luxury limo, to be changed every two years or whatever. It is because they realise that truth that they sell their permits.

Most MPs are dishonest – at least in certain matters. I think that I’m fairly honest.

Please get real, and focus on selecting honest people to control every level of representative government.

If this woman – the wife of such a depraved uncivilised creature – gets elected to the Pradesheeya Sabha she also might take her turn to go on seducing young school boys in the area with the help of her husband . Come on voters, Cheers to sex maniacs!

What is the big deal fellows. His claim is 100, then he has followed other perverts, criminals, murderers and thieves occupying the den of corruption (known as Parliament of Sri Lanka). Does any one has b…s in this forum to claim that there is a single politician qualified or has any merits to be in the parliament, provincials or pradeshiya sabas and other local authorities. Saruwa Sunil and his wife are the products of illegitimate governments that ruled Sri Lanka; SWRD Banda, Sirima Banda, Jayawardene, Premadasa, Chandrika Banda, Wijetunga, Ranil, Rajapaksa and Maithripala. The corrupt and hedonists bastards mentioned above is the reason why we are in deep shit. The irony is that these Machiavellian politicians have managed to duped the voters so successfully for so long.

To all the Singhalese……just read the comments posted here. Vote wisely to safeguard your own. The hatred towards us and our nation is ample reason to vote for a party which will not sleep with terrorists, to vote for a party who are not dependent on seperatist votes and who will safe guard the unity and integrity of this nation.

This LG elections are anything but LG

      Dear EDS,

This article has been about the level of decency that we’ve got to expect from our representatives. But I’m afraid that your comment has a quite different message in the circumstances in which it is written.

This can be paraphrased as: “Please vote for those who hate Tamils the most”.

You feel threatened, so your response is aimed at rousing racism in us all.

I’m sorry, but in my view this is the last thing that we need. We have to build bridges, so that the various communities in this island co-operate and live happily together.

Are your fears justified? Yes, some Tamils also spout rubbish. What I have recently seen most is the ridiculous contention that Tamil is the greatest (and oldest) language in the world. Tamils can be attached to their language and culture, the way we are to ours, but all that is subjective.

Some of them, and some of us, are equally provocative. Let’s change all that.

I’ve done a little more checking, and the facts are confirmed. This Saruwa Sunil is a bad egg.

That this is a wild area is true, but having wild candidates is not the solution, surely. Let’s do what we can to comprehensively defeat the fellow.

This is in my understading the most scandalaous move on the part of Sirisena administration. Can we trust him any more? It is a sure sign that there is no difference between the Ranjapaksha and Sirisena administration or Yamapalanaya and Yahapalanaya. Can we citizens expect anything good from this kind of party politics?

    Dear Fr Sarath Iddamalgoda,

What do you propose we put in place of party politics?

Let me not impose my views on you – at least not just yet.

Comments can come in to this story for another seven days.

When you say that this is the most scandalous part of Yahapalanaya, I think that some good has flowed from the changes that began thee years ago.

Also, certain distinctions have to be made; Wijedasa RajapakSha and Mahinda Rajapaksa are from the same area – not very far from Akuressa, the place being talked about. But they are from quite different families. To put it crudely, they are from different castes. If we want to get at the truth, we can’t be squeamish about these things.

So note the different spellings of the surnames.
