H.E. Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary General,

The Commonwealth. 13th Nov. 2013

Your Excellency,

I saw pictures of you arriving in Sri Lanka , obviously a happy man, as your dream of holding the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting will come true in a few days time and Sri Lanka will be entrusted with the task of implementing and nurturing the newly signed commonwealth Charter for the next two years. Like the proverbial father – over anxious to get his ageing daughter married at any cost – who hides certain details of the groom’s dubious past from the relatives , you too had to resort to many manoeuvrings to overcome the objections of some of your powerful members.

In fact, in your enthusiasm to go ahead with this unholy alliance, steps were taken to conceal the legal opinion sought by you regarding the scandalous impeachment of Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake, earlier this year. You invited two senior jurists to tell you whether removal of the chief justice was consistent with Commonwealth values and principles. Their responses were unequivocal. Jeffrey Jowell, a QC who directs the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law, found that the chief justice had been ousted by an unfair process that ‘did not comply with … Commonwealth values and principles’. The second lawyer you consulted, the late Pius Langa, a former chief justice of South Africa’s Constitutional Court, was even more forthright. Sri Lanka’s government, he concluded, had not merely contravened Commonwealth values and principles: it was ‘sowing the seeds of anarchy’ and ‘directly violating the rule of law’. This opinion was also echoed by the International Commission of Jurists and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association. Not only did you ignore the opinions provided by these eminent jurists, but you failed to make these reports available to CMAG (Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group) when they met in London in April and September this year.

Thanks to your single minded determination, President Mahinda Rajapakse, the very man who has spent nearly eight years undermining the values and principles he is supposed to uphold will now become the public face of the Commonwealth for the next two years.

Like the kindly teacher who believes that the truant of the class can be rehabilitated by making him, the monitor, I am sure that you too believe that President Rajapaksa will mend his ways when given the task of upholding the Commonwealth Charter in 53 countries and this blue eyed optimism is reflected in a statement made by you to a British TV network last week when you say “…….significant advances have been made in the interests of the citizens of Sri Lanka.” Instead of merely basing your assumptions on information provided by a few salaried members of the regime, you should at least now speak to members of the opposition and civil society as well as affected parties and ordinary citizens of this country to assess the prevailing situation. If at all, the drift towards authoritarianism continues unabated but as Dr. Nirmal Dewasiri, president of FUTA says in a statement on the closure of all universities during this period, ‘ …….this is part of the general programme of deception that has been launched by this regime to use CHOGM to whitewash its sins at considerable cost and inconvenience to its citizens.’ In fact for the next few months, we are going to be tortured by the ubiquitous smile of our great/dear leader looking down benevolently from giant billboards that would have put Kim Il Jong of North Korea to shame.

Perhaps emboldened by apologists for this regime within the international community like you, the Rajapaksa regime continue to violate the core values of the Commonwealth Charter with impunity. The witch hunt against the Chief Justice is continuing and the Supreme Court has now become a mere appendage of the executive. Shirani Bandaranayake was summoned to court in mid-September on charges that would be laughable if they weren’t so vindictive: her failure to disclose empty bank accounts, it is alleged, amounts to the corrupt concealment of valuable assets. The pliant figure that Rajapaksa chose to succeed her, Mohan Pieris, a former attorney-general and cabinet adviser, is meanwhile supervising Supreme Court judges who are soon going to be asked to rubber-stamp Bandaranayake’s removal and his appointment. If, as looks likely, some of the judges prefer instead to retire, the president will get to pick their successors, at which point the last significant obstacle to executive domination will disappear.

Violating the Lattimer principles even further, the legislature has become a mere rubber seal for executive action under the Chairmanship of yet another Presidential sibling. 47% of the budgetary allocations for 2014 are for the Ministries directly controlled by the Rajapaksa brothers and Parliament has very little say on deciding on such allocations. Not only the references to the President but even references to the defence secretary – even by innuendo – are censored and expunged from the Hansard.

Despite reluctantly holding the Northern Provincial elections in September thanks to intense international pressure the situation in the North remains tense with the militarisation process continuing unabated. However the militarisation is not confined to the North: in every district of Sri Lanka new army units have been formed and many of the key posts in the civil service are held by military personnel hand picked by the defence secretary. Even the permanent secretary of the new Ministry in charge of the police is a military man reporting directly to the defence secretary.

In the North lands are also being taken over forcibly in an insidious attempt to change the demography of the area. Instead of coming up with a genuine political settlement which can address the grievances of the long suffering Tamil people of the North and the East, a Parliamentary select committee has been appointed to keep International pressure at bay.

Tolerance, respect and understanding is yet another core value of the Commonwealth charter but religious and ethnic intolerance has been actively encouraged by the state run media since the conclusion of the war and many Muslim and Christian places have been attacked while the Police looked on. Some of these extremist groups fostering this culture of intolerance are openly seen with key members of this regime. Recently, on the 3rd of September, a statue sacred to the Hindus was vandalised in Dambulla and two weeks later the kovil was flattened to the ground after a visit to the temple by persons in Army uniform who claimed that the temple which has been there for over 30 years was on sacred Buddhist land! Until the advent of the present regime, Sri Lanka was renowned as a land of great tolerance and in many places Buddhist temples have coexisted with kovils, mosques and churches next to each other for decades if not centuries.

In yet another insidious plan to change the demography of the city of Colombo which remains unfavourable to the ruling party, the residents of the predominantly Muslim and Tamil neighbourhood of Slave Island are been resettled elsewhere against their will. This must be condemned as a violation of United Nations principles and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Accordingly human settlement planning must seek to improve the quality of the life of people with full respect for indigenous, cultural and social needs. Settlement planning and implementation for the purpose of prolonging and consolidating occupation and subjugation in territories and lands acquired through coercion and intimidation must not be undertaken .

The Police, since the abolition of the independent Police commission in 2010, is now nothing more than a servile and obliging security service catering to the whims and fancies of the ruling family. Last month, I too was a victim of a massive witch hunt against me and my supporters in my constituency in Matara. As a result of a clash which erupted between supporters of the UNP and a group of government backed protesters, nearly 60 persons were arrested and kept in remand custody for two weeks while many of the perpetrators have not even been questioned. Five people were wounded by shots fired by a self proclaimed advisors to the President and one bystander has been partially paralysed for life. Many of those arrested were key office bearers of my party who according to video footage available did not in any way participate in the violence and even the general Secretary of the women’s group who was not even present where the incident took place was arrested after midnight without the presence of a WPC as the law requires. I have last week lodged 11complaints at the Human Rights Commission but as the commissioners are now directly appointed by the President in violation of the Paris Principles, an impartial investigation cannot be expected.

The President is now not only the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, he also has assumed the role of Editor in Chief of all media. Almost all the media is directly or indirectly controlled by the government. Other than the Wijeya group of newspapers all other newspapers are run by proxies of the regime and because of the inherent climate of fear prevalent at all levels of the media, most journalists resort to self censorship especially when dealing with allegations of corruption against the first family. Those who dare to deviate from the expected norms are threatened and recently Mandana Ismail, who was investigating a corrupt land deal became the latest journalist to join dozens of others from the fraternity, living in exile abroad. Even this open letter to you, even if carried in newspapers will, I am sure, be heavily censored.

The expulsion of a Senator from Australia and a M.P. from Australia a few days ago and the cancelling of visas of two senior representatives of a respected international media organisation last week shows that the government remains set in its ways even on the eve of CHOGM.

Thanks to your sustained efforts, the Commonwealth has therefore chosen to reward blatant and sustained violations of its supposed values and principles to a man so little concerned with Democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

He will not only be the public face of your association for the next two years but also the guardian of the Commonwealth Charter in 53 countries. Therefore, it is your bounden duty to ensure that the new Chairman of the Commonwealth implements the Charter in his own country first , if he is to have the moral authority to preach to other member states who may behave in contravention of the charter. You must not be fooled by time buying tactics of the regime like the proposed Commission on Torture and must insist on the speedy implementation of the President’s own LLRC proposals. However, as some of the proposals may require time for full implementation, there are three proposals which can be implemented immediately in order to prove that the truant of the class has now turned a new leaf since being made monitor and is truly committed to the Commonwealth Charter.

1. Repeal the 18th Amendment and restore the independence of the judicial Commission, the elections commission, the police commission, public services commission and the bribery and corruption commission. In fact this is one of the key recommendations of your own Commonwealth Election Observer Mission to ensure free and fair elections in this country. As 2014 has been touted as an election year this must be passed in Parliament in January and the UNP has already handed a draft amendment to the Speaker.

2. The freedom of Information Act can also be passed in Parliament immediately as an act has already been tabled in Parliament by the UNP.

3. There are unverified but extremely serious allegations of war crimes against the Government which in turn has tarnished the reputation of our armed forces who for many decades were renowned for their discipline and dedication as a fighting force. Therefore it is extremely important that the government abandons it’s ‘shoot the messenger’ policy and initiate a credible and independent investigation into these allegations as early as possible without paving the way for international scrutiny.

The immediate implementation of these proposals will reassure the people of this country, that your strategy has worked and the Rajapaksa regime has now changed its authoritarian direction and is sincere in its commitment to the fundamentals of democracy. Given the history of the regime, I do not expect it to implement the Charter voluntarily. Therefore , I hope that you along with the leaders of the Commonwealth will bring sufficient pressure on the government to implement the charter as soon as possible.

We in the UNP and other political and civil organisations will also be commencing a campaign to compel the regime to uphold these rights until our goals are achieved democratically.

I wish you a pleasant stay in our beautiful but tortured island.

Yours truly,
Mangala Samaraweera M.P.

Well, well, The UNP should have led a people’s protest on the streets of Colombo at this time but the streets are deserted.
The UNP opposition has vacated post. Gota the goon would not have dared shoot protesters with all the VIPs in town.
This is a HISTORIC MISSED OPPORTUNITY FOR the UNP, POLITICAL OPPOSITION and CIVIL SOCIETY in Sri Lanka – who have all been bought off in different ways. Only the courageous people of Jaffna will protest the CHOGM circus it seems.
So stop whining now, Mangy. When history is written the biggest failure of the COlombo Commonwealth Circus of 2013 would be the FAILURE of the OPPOSITION and UNP to call a people’s ALL ISLAND protest to tell the world the Truth about the Rajapassa military dictatorship.
YOU Mangy, Ranil Sajith and the UNP conies are a curse on this land – as big a curse as the Rajapassa brothers and most of the other CORRUPT politicians.
Ranil WIckramasighe and the UNP is sinking it its MUCK and in fighting. Also, dictator, Ranil, has been running behind the Commonwealth of Clowns for decades – quoting Latimer House rules that know one knows or cares about – to excuse inaction with the CJ was illegally impeached!
In fact, the Rajapassa’s merely took over Ranil Wickramasinghe’s romance with the “Common Poverty of Nations” and took it to a whole new level by organizing Prince Charles’ 65th Birthday party in Colombo called the CHOGM 2013!

The time has come to hold ACCOUNTABLE the Commonwealth of Nations to the the people it claims to benefit.
Accountability in the Development Industry is measured through transparent EVALUATIONS, for which clear Benchmarks, logical frameworks, development goals and targets that are measurable in terms of process and outcomes are set for projects and programs.
As it is, the list of Commonwealth projects is endless and vague and immeasurable and show a cavalier attitude towards EVALUATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY.
From poverty reduction to democracy, good governance, human rights, gender equality, and a more equitable sharing of the benefits of globalisation the Commonwealth’s concerns reads like a LAUNDRY LIST. The Commonwealth website lists its areas of work as: Democracy, Economics, Health, Education, Gender, Governance, Human Rights, Law, Small States, Sport, Sustainability, and Youth. There are no measurable or quantifiable or qualitative outcomes, and the results as evident in the CHOGM circus and its People’s and Youth Forum in Sri Lanka is that Commonwealth projects, programs and conference are a HUGE WASTE of funds that impoverishes countries, promote corruption, and enables RENT-SEEKING by politico-business elites.
The practice and process and visible outcomes of this organization at this time appear to be that that it promotes the opposite of its purported values. In short, the Commonwealth seems to promote the “Common poverty of nations”, SPIN and a poverty of theory in the countries the global south, as well as, corruption, crony capitalism and BAD GOVERNANCE.

Mangy the useless bugger, bankrupt, nowhere to go hangs on to UNP & helps Ranil the serial loser to keep Leadership, thereby destroying the main opposition & democracy.

Mangy, just look at the mirror & hang your self , no better service to country.

            Mr. John Soo True aney.
Mr. Mangala’s letter maybe an excellent one but Mr Kamalesh has done his job already with the support of Mr Cameron, so nothing to fear or panic.
Mr Kamalesh Sharma is a good friend. Unlike our own Sri Lankans who are making our king belittle everytime at every oppotunity they get, traitors!
We dont have to worry since the army is behind us thanks to Mr Gota. Our soldiers are so clever that they attacked Mr Ranil’s car in civilian cloth, so no body will know that they are only carrying Mr Gota’s instructions.
I dont understand why Mr Ranil is poking his nose in every internationally related matter where only our king and his family should be in the lime light.
I could only laugh at Mr Ranil when I think of the position of our O/L merely passed hon mahinda and the so called educated and intelligent Ranil himself.

Yasodara . In to-days culture in SL is that anyone who organises a protest is organised by the government . Does that mean that there are no people in SL , who are very angry with what IS going on like the Macre clowns ?Seriously are there no people in SL who cannot bear to see the disinformation that is going round in SL . I would have been there at all these protest if I could . I do not belong to the SL army. Simple . get over it . Kep your fantasies to yourself . WAKE UP FROM YOUR DREAMS .

When are you planning to visit the East and the North of Sri Lanka and speak to the people privately to formulate your future policy on Sri Lanka.

In Colombo, you received red carpet welcome and lot more…….

These will not be in the East and the North.

I hope the pressures of the COGHM conference will give you the necessary reawakening to sharpen your thoughts.

      God bless you.

And a good thing too brother Magribi. Something needs to be done for this ruined country.

The northerners are pulling Sri Lanka towards Tamil Nadu, the Muslims towards Saudi Arabia and the rest like wild pigs are trying to root it out of the earth.

The only way to bring some semblance of humanity is to settle things down. What better tool than the Buddha’s message of universal tolerance?

Ok don’t get hopping mad about this message coming from a man representing a fascist organisation. I am the first to admit that we do have mad dogs within BBS who have taken the lime light at the moment. However we also do have good people within BBS who will quietly go about our business, spreading the good word.

    Mangala Samaraweera,

You are one of the few politicians still holding on to principles. It won’t go in vain in the long run.

Sharma is a Sri Lankan shill according to Canadians.

Did you read recently that Mahinda is offering free all paid trips to Sri Lanka, and taken up by 14 UK Conservative MPs to project his spins in parliament? Most of them did. Now Cameron has put a stop to that.

I suppose Mahinda knows how much each one is worth and willing to pay from state coffers: It doesn’t hurt his pocket.

      Thiru,

Mangi’s article is excellent. It is a relatively accurate description of the horrible situation Sri Lanka faces right now.

However, placing the whole burden on “His Exccellency Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary General” is sort of not correct. Poor old man is struggling to keep the Commonwealth intact and relavant. Which happens to be his real job.

Mangi was directly responsible for leading the current, very large, despotic family from Hambantota to corridors of ultimate power in Sri Lanka. Do not blame Sharma!

Where is the opposition of which Mangi is now a part of? They have restricted themselves to News conferneces and newspaper articles.

Where is the real leadership required in the face of dictatorship?

Where are the massive, yet peaceful street demos? To scare the hell out of Sri Lanka’s corrupt rulers.

Where are the leaders who can lead from the front? Fearless, honest & are willing to lay down their lives for the love of our country.

Sri Lanka does not lack ordinary citzens who are brave enough to face off the dictator. If not for endlessly in-fighting, self-serving, leading cowards of the opposition.

You blame “His Exccellency Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary General” for this miserable state of affairs of the opposition? How lame can you be?

That logic can only arise from a Sri Lankan politician’s clever, inventive and cunning mind.

This kind of tactics will not chase Rajapassa out of Temple Trees. It will take a bit more than that. We face a massive task. As hard as getting rid of the awful LTTE.

      Cheers!

Nice dose of reality correction, Ben.

Letting the regime run away with the spoils of war was entirely down to the so called ‘opposition’ that we have been able to muster. Let’s not expect our ‘foreign friends’ to bale us out. As long as our ‘main opposition’ runs around shooting each other (in the foot??), MR and his regime will make hay and get stronger; and the task of shifting them will become harder….and take longer……and who said bloodier?

        Ben ,

You are a blast from the Past. You can run but you cant hide who you really are.

Dont call Sharma Poor Old Man and for your Information he is doing what he is doing is for two reason.

        1) He has been paid handsomely by MR
        2) He was ordered by India to make MR presentable to the World to protect them from being implicated in the War Crimes.

Sri Lankan Leaders are being shielded by the only Countrty which can Make or Break them for selfish raesons as above.

You are wrong to say that Sri Lanka does not lack brave men and women who can lead from the front.
There 20 million of you who lead from the front for the Racist Message which MR is putting out so dont be daft.

Rajapakses will be forced out when the Tamil Nadu Army ( TNA ) who are scheduled to arrive after March 2014 land under the directions of the Iron Lady.

Isn’t this the Dude who was seen applying the Values of the UNP Charter on fellow members and even colleagues using his rowdy mates in the South, carrying Cinnamon Sticks?.

    What a joke?. What a Joker ?.

By the way CH4 McCrae evidently got an invite from Cinnamon Stick Mangala to come over to SiriKotha.

Hope it is not a sleep over, because our inhabitants would hate to hear about another episode of his Diaspora Box Office series, perhaps this time with a title like Rude Awakening.

Sum when you write it is very entertaining. rather than call him joker you should be made as Clown Marshal or Chief Clown of Lanka. We can see you picking up some words from here and there but they don’t make any sense. Doing this for a fee we can understand. But you should do a better job. or leave it to some one who has something in in head. Not everyone can write you know. It is okay for you to serve your master in another job. He will understand.

Mangala, quite ably, performs the function that should be the duty of
that pussilaminous Ranil and his men. If Ranil and the UNP had any
backbone at all, they should have converted this opportunity, when the
focus of a fair part of the world is on Sri Lanka. He had a duty to educate the world of the fate that has overtaken this once democratic country, its fragile unity and the good of over 20 million plural people.

If Kamlesh Sharma has any personal integrity or honour at all, on the basis of the strident criticism of the Canadian PM on his role and conduct – not to mention many others- should resign within a week after Nov 17. CW/SGs of the future should be honourable men outside
    the influence of venal enticements.

Sharma has become party and parcel to the destruction of the Commonwealth. By the time HRE Rajapakse finishes with it, it will become the Commonplace of Dictators and Despots.

Latimer House Principles will be replaced by Hultsdorf Principles of Injustice. Human Rights Initiative will be replaced by Gotas War for Suppression of Minorities.

an interesting piece. yet, sharma has an obligation to pay in kind for his nomination as, and then support for him to become, sg/commonwealth. what was exchanged and who got what may all be left to one’s imagination in an emerging globalculture where trade off is the most important value. Simply put, all vaues are tradable?!

If Kamalesh Sharma has an ounce of shame or self respect, reading this missive of Mangala Samaraweera should resign forthwith and the Brits who head the Commonwealth should pronto address the issues raised without soft peddling matters. It is a damn disgrace for the British Royalty and the British PM to shamelessly associate potty Dictators who are corrupt and murderous, as they too will be judged accordingly.

Well done Mangala although some MR canines may bark and growl at you.

UNP is going to go down in upcoming western provincial council by polling less than 30%, a traditional stronghold of the UNP. Don’t forget to blame sajith, vote rigging by the government and of course calling the voters idiots.

Neither CHOGM nor Sharma is a member of a gal club. So why should Sharma take notice of Man-gal’s advice. Leader of the Kurundu polu battalion should be held responsible for the recent attack against sirikotha. That’s a sure sign of UNP loosing the coming up western provincial council elections.

    – Callum Macrae wants a Nobel price at the expense of Tamils
    – Frances Harrison wants to sell her book at the expense of Tamils
    – Tamil Nadu politicians constantly win elections at the expense of Tamils
    – Now Mangala is also trying to cache in at the expense of Tamils

At the end of the day the only party who is’nt using Tamils for some kind of agenda are the ordinary Sinhalaese and Moslems.

They simply carry on with their business don’t they really? Kudos to them.

“At the end of the day the only party who is’nt using Tamils for some kind of agenda are the ordinary Sinhalaese and Moslems.”

Nonsense! The Tamils have been used, chewed and discarded by the Sinhala time and again. Get your facts right mister. If anything the MR regime is aiding the foreign media with his intransigent attitude. He cannot challenge them, intimidate them, and make the disappear. All he can do is to pay the PR firms to gloss over all the cracks.

All he needs to do is to investigate the alleged war crimes; honestly deal with the perpetrators; the foreign media will go away. Will he do that? No; because, they themselves are fairly and squarely implicated in the crimes!

        Heylo there Burning-Issues,

Well, if the lady was indeed blind scores of British pilots would be hung for carpet bombing Dresden, US forces for Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam Agent Orange, Laos and even killing even unarmed Osama Bin Laden’s wife. You’ll find culpability goes right to the top here too.

What seems to operate in these kinds of situations is the principle of Quit Pro Quo. i.e. you hit my guys, and I can damn well allow my guys to return the favour whether it agrees with Geneva or not.

Foreign media was there after JVP I and JVP II as well. What happened then? nothing no?

“Callum Macrae wants a Nobel price at the expense of Tamils”

I rather wish him not accepting any Nobel prize for peace. Gota is more than qualified to receive many Nobel prizes. Now think about who in the past received such prizes, Menaching Begin, Obama,……

“Frances Harrison wants to sell her book at the expense of Tamils”

      No one buys these books.

“amil Nadu politicians constantly win elections at the expense of Tamils”

There are two main parties both want to hang the regime. Do you think both can win at the same time and form two state governments?

” Now Mangala is also trying to cache in at the expense of Tamils”

Let him, why are you so envious of him?

“At the end of the day the only party who is’nt using Tamils for some kind of agenda are the ordinary Sinhalaese and Moslems.”

It may be true, however all benefits accrue to the clan and the Sinhala/Buddhists at the expense of Tamils and the clan does not want to share it with ordinary people. Spoils of war is skewed.

So what are you going to do about it.

    Mangala,

Why don’t you get your squad of cinnamon stick wielding goons to disrupt the CHOGHM? You should be in a remand cell for organizing this gang attack with cinnamon sticks on a group of peaceful demonstrators and not the pawns in your dirty hands who are suffering in remand prison.

You have lost your credibility and become a liability to the United National Party. Your complaint is like the pot calling the kettle black!

Will you abolish the presidency ” Repeal the 18th Amendment and restore the independence of the judicial Commission, the elections commission, the police commission, public services commission and the bribery and corruption commission. “?

NO you will not and as far as I know have never ever tried to do these vital acts and never will.

Mr. Samarweera would like to make an addendum –

“ I was the Svengali behind the unjust and twisted victory of the present President in his first term – I did, with the help of Tiran Alles, provide an inordinate amount of money to the LTTE, at the ultimate terror organization that is banned in almost all western democracies, to stop the ordinary Tamil Sri Lankans in the north from voting. Therefore, it is I who is responsible for perverting the victory of my now good friend, Ranil Wickramasinghe. By doing so, I prolonged the war that caused the death of thousands of citizens of Sri Lanka – both Tamil and Singhalese.

It is also I who castigated Ranil in the most personal of terms in the Parliament, even questioning his sexuality – refer Hansard – at the peak of my power though now we are inseparable and are kindred sprites.

So essentially, I make this veiled venomous attack knowing very well that I am the real culprit responsible for the state of affairs to be as such”

I am proud to see the guts this minister seem to have.

While almost everyone is just nodding the head, his article fully articulating the cruel situation should be commendable.

CW summit is a just an eye wash to those who have been asking brutal rulers to conduct impartial international war crimes of the both sides.

Some believe if the man would be appointed ( most likely) as the chairman for the CW the two years ahead of us, enitre world would slowly focus the opposite side – … in that way, it is a great trick to misguide IC.

All these kind of wastages should have to come on the common man, because they are the ones who would struggle to live in the country.

Even today, almost over 70% or more cant afford to survive in the country, with sky rocketed price hikes of the most essentials. And the electric bills that they have bear can be comparable to those of developed countries.

Chuti, why not you be somewhat decent ?

Shame on the name ” CHUTI”. We can also bring our view in a decent way Chuti.
There are GAY external ministers in Europe. Mayors in Europe. You can go against their born charactors. Bottom line, we have to stand against the crime regime of MR.

Today tabloid says, that British premier has no rights to raise HR records of current Srilanka, while going to be in the Island from 15th 17th Nov.
But Kehelmal seems to know nothing like that any attendees can directly raise all questions about Democratic values, Human rights and several other issue that CW members are entitled to discuss in the event.
Buru Kehalmal feels that he would be able to let them all ignore LANKEN avalanche of HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.

Will Mr Mangala Cinnamon Stick Samaraweera write to the Anglo Saxon pair who are representing our ex Colonial masters, wishing them a happy and enjoyable stay too?.

Or has the Ranil faction already issued them enough Cinnamon Sticks?.

Hague says sexual violence against women must stop in SiLanka.

Is he looking at the wrong map on the video screen at the back of his Tax Payer funded First Class Seat?.

Did we have any young women dragged off shopping malls, raped and dumped in dark alleys?.

Did we have innocent young girls waiting for buses , or in buses being gang raped and killed with horrific injuries?.

Did or do we have Srilankan parents killing their daughters over love affairs, like the ones reported recently on ABC?.

Did we have any death of a woman or man due to sexual abuse since Nanthikadal?.

If the Cinnamon Faction of the UNP hasn’t done it already, our great majority of the inhabitant population who now live in peace and harmony will be wishing, the Anglo Saxons a pleasant stay and happy documentary making as well.

    Hello Mangala Samaraweera,

You almost got me in believing in what you write. The message is good but we do have to kill the messenger in this instance. Credibility is your issue.

You do have a chequered history. Many inconsistencies. Some of what you say reeks of hypocrisy. You must clean your own act before you preach to others.

Mangala is/was the lap dog of Chandrika.

Isn’t it pathetic when ex-ministers try to say how bad the current status of the country is?

Curious if Mangala the political clown did really send the letter to Mr. Sharma, even he did send, it would go straight into Mr. Sharma’s shredder.

Here goes another opportunistic Sinhala traitor…. making hay while the sun shines. All these losers want is to come into power. Then : the developments we see in the country will all be turned to dust.

Mangala samaraweera can air his hallucinations, but, the majority of Sri Lankans know better. His only hope is to distort the truth to the CHOGM delegates.

    Mr.Samaraweera,

Thanks for your article and before I comment on the main thrust of your Article I just want to pick up on the following with reagrads to the character of the Bride.

1)Like the proverbial father – over anxious to get his ageing daughter married at any cost – who hides certain details of the groom’s dubious past from the relatives , you too had to resort to many manoeuvrings to overcome the objections of some of your powerful members.

The ageing duaghter that you are referring to has had too many parteners and in the process has picked up a Disease Called AIDS for which there is no treatment as all the immune systems in the body have broken down and as result there is no defence to foreign infection ( Virus and Bacteria )and death is a matter of time.

    2) As for your observartion about the role of the father the dad had to do his job because of the amount of Dowry he has been given( Normally it is the other way round).

In trying to get his dageing daughter married he has also brought up a lot of humiliations for the Bride in front of the World.

    a) The Chief Guest despite a personal invitaion has refused to come because his own daughter refused to let him attend the wedding.
    b) He has turned this into a PR disater for the Bride as Leaders and the Press were rushing to the part of the World in which this dirty Bride had all her flings and carried on her Extrmarital ( Extrajudicial killings) affairs .
    c) After 65 years the Previous Colonial Leader visited the places where this bride has been in action ( Romping) and took pictures with the CM & others on the Balcony ( Buckingham Palace)
    d) The father has also humiliated the BRIDE when she had to cancel the Press Conference to defend her Character in fron of the World Media.
    e) The previous Colonial Leader for the First Time has said that her extramarital affairs ( I mean extra Judicial Killigns) amonuted to War Crimes and has promised to call a UN inquiry.

The father along with the Bride will be indicted to the HAGUE to face charges of Extra Marital Affairs.
