Sirisena Hits Out At Judiciary: Says Head Monk Of Village Temple Dictating Terms To Chief Prelate Of Chapter

Hitting out at the interim order issued by the Court of Appeal which prevented purported Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and his government from functioning in office, President Maithripala Sirisena likened the decision to a head monk of a village temple dictating terms to the chief prelate of a chapter. “නිකායක මහානායක කෙනෙක් කරන්න ඕන වැඩක්, විහාරාධිපති කෙනෙක් දේශනා කරලා.. he said in Sinhala.

By making this statement, Sirisena implied that the Court of Appeal had overstepped its boundaries when issuing an interim order against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his purported government.

Addressing the SLFP Convention held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, a short while ago, Sirisena said there were diverse opinions about the functioning of the judiciary. “Some say the judiciary is highly independent while some allege its conduct is partial. Nevertheless, I respect the judiciary” Sirisena added.

In his speech, Sirisena criticized ousted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for not only destroying the UNP but also destroying him. “Ranil Wickremesinghe destroyed the spirit of good governance,” Sirisena added, describing the UNP Leader as a “political curse.”

“I don’t have a personal problem with Ranil Wickremesinghe. But his politics does not suit the country. His line of thinking does not suit the country. He is divorced from our identity. He doesn’t respect our culture and traditional values,” Sirisena added.

He also said he did not worship foreign embassies, hitting out at the diplomatic missions engaging with all political parties to resolve the current crisis. “I worship only people,” he added.

Sirisena also promised to resolve the current political crisis in a week. “I promise everyone that I need only seven days to resolve the crisis. Take my word for that.”

However, Sirisena yesterday held a meeting with the Tamil National Alliance and assured that the current political crisis would be resolved in 24 hours.

Criticizing the judiciary is punishable by law! Or is he exempt?

The ramblings of a mad man are excusable but not if he’s the president of a country.

“Criticizing the judiciary is punishable by law” Is he not subject to same treatment
as applied to Ranjan Ramanayake? Or can he escape under cover of presidential
      immunity ?

If you are true to yourself what you should do, Mr President, is to go for a Presidential Election. Be assured that you will lose your deposit.

Captain Sirisena, just like on a cricket field if you do not agree to the field umpires decision have a review available and once the 3rd umpire has given a verdict respect and get on with it! Please learn to respect the judiciary which for once in many many years have had no influence or intimidation form any one as they are professionals in their own field and no matter if the decisions favour us or not we need to respect their profession and value their stance from a legal view point as you as president has no understanding of the legal system. Without respecting a constitution then you might as well select 225 jokers you wish to and appoint a cabinet? come on MS its time you respected the law of the land and us as the people of Sri Lanka.

His getting additionally emboldened by every breach of Law he makes.
Right after the CoA verdict he was having a meeting with. He did not continue the meeting; but he had said in that meeting that he accepted the CoA verdict.

During the planning stage of the coup, (around the start of October) He was planning to play chess game with the Supreme Court justices. But he has been slowed down by the current legal system. There are two of his choices are not recommended by the CC, so has not filled up the vacancies with the recommended justices. He probably seeing two Ranils are trying to creep into the Supreme Court and he is saving the country by blocking their appointments. He has faced the same situation with current CJ Nalin Perera. He tolerated him hoping that he could be lasting only up to December.

This speech is an indication that if he last any longer, with his daily emboldening bravery, he will zap all those who are Ranil Justices in his opinion in the Supreme Court with Old King Justices.

Sooner or later the Lemon Puff Veeraya, Weerawansa, once again, will have clean the Supreme Court firing few culprit Justices.

Appaya should at least get some advise from his children before he opens his mouth an disgrace not just the Sinhala Buddhist but any one that was born in that country. This presuming he used at least a part of the state funds that he was creaming for over thirty was used on the children’s education.

Since MY3 is curiously constituted, we can expect him to derive sense of crude satisfaction in making people like us to guess and imply for various sayings such as “leading a life of a butterfly” and “Head of Village Temple trying to overawe the Mahanayake”. It is another chap who told me that there are lots of people who are married and even produced children but they are basically gay. Such people who hide their gay orientation are called butterflies, the chap further elaborates. My recommendation is do not waste words in going through his antics. Make him to give the opinion / decision of the people itself through a referendum. If he is not happy with the decision of the referendum then like Charles De Gaul, he must resign. It looks as if the guy will not exercise his right to appoint anyone and the entire system will crash land. When there is no body to do a job of work he can say that is because I respect the decision of the judiciary.

Is today too an opposite day for My3?

When is the next time he is going to share his personal wisdom with us?

You don’t see a parallel like this anywhere else in the world where the head of a state questions the verdict of a court. If it was in his favour he would be dancing with others. His remarks confirms beyond any doubt that he is INSANE. The country is going into ruins.

    Your Excellency Mr. President

I agree with many things you say, you respect the judiciary, tha is good news. Ramil messed it all up that is also good news in a way.

I am worried that you worship people – who are these people? Foreigners? Loca.s? Common people or Kings and Queens?

Maybe you should worship the law instead.

President Maithripala Sirisena knows that we know that his RW-putsch led to a coup d’état.
Fortunately the putsch and the recent ‘happenings’ had faults and got into the courts system.
Clearly MS is peeved and likens the decision of court to ~ “නිකායක මහානායක කෙනෙක් කරන්න ඕන වැඩක්, විහාරාධිපති කෙනෙක් දේශනා කරලා” translation ” head monk of a village temple dictating terms to the chief prelate of a chapter..”.
    .
Now MS has to sort matters pronto. He will.
Will he tell us as to those who engineered the putsch.

Who cares who they are. What we know is, the whole world can’t stand the sight of them.

They migrated and or invaded India and Indians hate them. They migrated to the China but could not invade because the China man does not tolerate their nonsense. And the China man has them under their control well and truly. The China man does not even allow them to name their babies Mohammad or Akmed. Talk about Extra ordinary problems needing extra ordinary solutions.

They migrated to the West and the Westerners can’t stand them.

I listened to Sira’s speech. To be fair, all he said was that some people say that “නිකායක මහානායක කෙනෙක් කරන්න ඕන වැඩක්, විහාරාධිපති කෙනෙක් දේශනා කරලා”. Quoting him incompletely is not fair.

      Rtd. Lt. Reginald Shamal Perera:
      =
“can’t stand the sight of them” – who cares?
      =
You are happy China doesn’t allow Muslim names on new born. But in the near future, many street names in SL will be changed from Sinhala to Chinese. Chinalization has already started and soon you will be a slave of Chinese in your own country, the way things are moving. But don’t worry Chinese invasion is bloodless and painless, better than a leech bite.

This man was a paragon of virtue to people contributing to CT and how come he has turned to a devil in carnation?
Suckered into Presidency by the UNP and the West, gloated in the Western alliance as the man who ousted MR.
Talking about RW policies & Sirisena turned abusive…
Nobody speaks of Sirisena being blinkered by RW and the West while RW robbed the CB in 40 days with only 43 UNP MPs in parliament.
UNP made him look a puppet took the country on the path of economic destruction.
They had to honour many pacts made behind Sirisena to oust MR and grab power and expected Sira to remain the puppet they wanted him to be.
It took 31/2 years for SIRA to realise and when began to crack the whip lo and behold here comes the cries he is abusive, mentally unsound, this that and the other …
These very same people who praised him in these columns in 2015 have turned to be turn Coats
    criticising him heavily.

Shameful same English speaking educated people, instead of asking Ranil to settle the issue with a Grama Sevaka, here they look for Vice Versa from a Grama sevaka.

I feel extremely sorry for this man. His family and those who are closed to him should ask him to be extremely careful and control himsel, else he would end up in huge life time miseries, if he still acts in this arbitory manner. After leaving the office, his immunity ends, all the troubles would start for him. Right now those around him are not giving and guiding in the right manner, and these poor advises and actions based on those are putting him in great denger and perils.

Folks ! you tried your best to instil some sense in the mind of the President since the sacking of the
elected PM, and it fell on deaf years .It did not dawn in his mind that it was an unconstitutional act, condemned by all democracies, around the world. Nothing of these preaching from legal minds did
any good to him as his arrogance prevented listening to reason and it is time to take some sympathetic approach towards him as he is mentally unstable to run govt. affairs.
Now that he has attacked the appeal court judges and the next thing will be an attack on SC and may
be the Sangha and that completes his circle of insanity rule and the credit goes to those who screwed
him up to play the puppet role. He seems to be loyal to his mentor Donald Trump and follows his footsteps, specially dealing with Judiciary and may have applied for his asylum in USA. This is possible and it had happened in the past where people like Gen. Musharaf ,Marcos of Phillipines, African dictators and many others, who, after committing crimes against humanity , given sanctuary in this country, where their citizens embrace democracy and fair play. Thanks to the Armed forces and Police, who maintain law and order in the country, though under constant provocation by the opposition political parties and their leaders who instigate the people to ‘rise’

We . the ordinary citizens, wish that the Supreme Court decides on an election, instead continuation of
the corrupt, lawless govt of the pre 26th Nov’ period, who made Sri Lanka, the laughing stock of the world. If we adopt a system like what USA has, i.e. the educated and experienced, unelected men and women from the public fill the minister’s portfolios and work with the elected congress and the President, there will be only few educated men will contest the elections as perks and power will be with the unelected.

RW should rrealize Trump critizes the American judiciary too for their decisions and accuses them judges of being Obamacare judges. This prompeted the usually silent Chief Justice, who is a conservative Republican appointee to speak out against Trump demoralizing and unfairly attacking the judges.

Mr. President do not play with lives of the people, by the minute, time is running out for the country, and the situation is like sitting on a live vorlcano. By the middle of January 2019, USD 1.5 billion debt payment is due, and in the whole of 2019, we have a debt payment obligations of USD 4.5 billions, and it’s not a joke or a circus but real. Due to these obligations, if the economy slips into troubles, game over for all of you. When this hits the people, they would hunt down all of you, and there wouldn’t be places for all of you to run. So think rationally and act accordingly.

    @plesse sir.

Almost 99.99% of Sri Lanka Malays are Muslims about 0.1% few converted to evangelical Christians whom .I know personally.
They are peaceful and very contended community ,well integrated with the local culture , they were first forcefully brought by The dutch invaders to build the Dutch canal in Ja- ela from Indonesia when the Dutch had invaded it along with Sri Lanka & Malaysia and were controlling the straits, that is how the name Ja -ela came about .

Later some Malays came from Indonesia and Malaysia ,like Hon. (Late) T.B.Jaya and family from Malaysia ,They were brought by The British to work in administration and and mostly in the Police and Military.

Today most of them are professionals and in The Tri Forces ,the STF chief is also a highly educated Malay Muslim.
It is a lie that is in circulation that they follow a Hindu type of a religion ,they are mostly pious Muslims .
It is not their call to isolate themselves from mainstream Muslims ,its a political identity created by politicians to cause further division to fulfill their agenda ,The Malays are not responsible for actions and they have also intermarried with other Muslims.
No matter what the politicians refer them as, The Muslims consider them apart of the mainstream Islam Sunni fraternity.

“Dr Ranil does not respect Sinhala Buddhist Culture ..Dr Ranil does not respect Sinhala buddhist Values..”
    What a revelation…..
Poor Sira took nearly four years of co habitation to find some thing which is visible as a Dogs Balls to the great inhabitant population of the Nation…

5 Million souls are on less than Two and Half Dollars a Day.
Dr Ranil wears his Double Breasted Marino Wool Suit even when he is at Home.
And read only the English translation of our Constitution..

What they earn before 8 January 2018.
How much do the estate workers earn in a good month?
You should move your bum, visit those hard working landless people and find out what have been their working and living condition of those people and pay since 1825 for coffee and 1867 for tea and find out how much foreign exchange they have generated since Feb 1948.

By the way why Namal Baby has not met with the Tamil detainees whom he was supposed to meet on 27 Oct 2018 and get them released immediately. Why is the delay?

If Maithiripala Sirisena wants to criticize the Court’s verdict, it amounts to contempt of court. If he is not happy with the Court’s decision he can appeal or resign and allow others to govern. Instead he should not speak rubbish. I think his downfall has already begun.

      Ayathuray Rajasingam.

” I think his (Sirisena’s) downfall has already begun.”

His balls dissolved, when the Parliament, elected by 100% of the People, was dissolved unconstitutionally, by Sirisena.

The way to comprehend Sirisena, is to think of the Circle of Sirisena, or the Wheel of Sirisena.

      1. Says one thing.

      2. Announces another thing.

      3. Does something completely different.

      4. Repeats the circle or wheel with a new circle or wheel.

That way, he has managed to earn Titles of

      1. Traitor, Quisling

      2. Sevalaya ( sleaze)

      3. Mala- Perethaya ( living off the dead)

      4. Patholaya ( backbone less person, unprincipled person)

      5. Pachaya ( liar)

He may earn new titles going forward.
