Sirisena Wants First Clause Removed From NCM: Requests Party Leaders To Go For A ‘Vote By Name’

President Maithripala Sirisena, at the meeting with political party leaders, has informed them to take another vote on the No Confidence Motion against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, without its first clause.

President Sirisena – Leader of the SLFP

The first clause says the gazette notifications issued by President Maithripala Sirisena appointing former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister and proroguing Parliament be declared null and void.

Sirisena has also informed that he is in a position to accept the verdict of the legislature if the vote is conducted by name, according to Parliamentary traditions and procedures.

In return, he has promised that he will not obstruct the functioning of the legislature again by proroguing Parliament. “He said he would not prorogue Parliament again and will support the ‘majority’ group in the house to obtain ‘government’,” Tamil People’s Alliance (TPA) Leader Mano Ganesan said, after the meeting.

The President, at the meeting, had promised that he would resolve the political crisis in the country within the next “two-three days.”

“From what I see, the political crisis in Sri Lanka is still far from resolution,” an informed source familiar with the matter told Colombo Telegraph. “The President has requested the vote to be taken by name but has failed to give any assurance that his MPs will act with restraint. Also, this discussion sounds like a negotiation with a mafia leader. In exchange for the removal of the first clause, he has given an assurance not to disrupt the Parliamentary proceedings. Accepting the functioning of the legislature is the duty of a President. If he doesn’t perform this duty, he should be impeached,” he explained.

    Sirisena,

No the Firdt Claude would not be removed, just because your balls washed. Live with your partially dissolved balls. Some thieves in Saudi Arabia live with chopped off limbs. For some the heads are chopped off, and some are chain sawed and dissolved.

      Sirisena,

What happened to the blooming RAW plot to kill you and Gota?

Now what are we as citizens supposed to think?

I’m not interested in high flung bullshit ……. let us first sort out the simple lies you feed the citizens!

If you first sort out the little lies …….. then big ones will get sorted by themselves ……… little lies lead to big lies …………..

Now, where does the frigging RAW plot fits into all of this?

This[edited out] at least to allow that shoud be commenable by us the majority that seek nothing but democracy and law and order being above anything else.

I questioned myself yesterday, why MAHINDA RAJAPKASHE just enjoyed the moment in the parliament not having done his duty well – which was he could command those criminals to stop in order to safeguard the human dignity and his respect too. But ballige putha just behaved as if he was invited to enjoy the highly abusive criminal acts of his supporters in the parliaement.

Yes. The prez should have come to the parliament today at least to watch how the proceeding taking place in fairness to both the rival parties instead of avoiding it. The silence of the Prez ignoring the parliament session today created a strong suspicion in our minds that he was behind this catastrophe.

If President would be crusified in GALLE FACE, people would not shed a tear drop.

So, people are angered as no times before. People are made furious NOT being able to see right things are in place. They cant wait a single day tolerating these buggers any more.

One day in the future, when President goes home after completing his tenure, he will be tried in the courts for all unconstitutional and undemocratic actions he took for the last 3 weeks. I think it was President’s proposal to remove immunity for Presidents. So he will be the first Sri Lankan President to try in the courts for abusing his power. He should know that this is no joke.

if the country is moving in the same direction from 26th oct. that is the ‘fate’. you need some rational and intellectual intervention immedietly by the leaders to put a block to the fate and revive. the country to at least the pre 26th era. the way JR did to build resevoires in the mahavali ganga to block it for agri .purposes and generate energy. i hope the analogy is understood.

Maybe this was all a deep strategy of my3 to remove RW and install Sajith with a bit of chaos and mayhem thrown in, although it is hard to imagine he is capable of any thinking!

    Wise move dear President,

Thank you for the move, I am sure the Country will return to normalcy and I am sure Mr.Rajapakshe will use his wisdom and accept the parliament decision and if it requires him to wait for a general election to secure a mandate of the people he will.

The Birth of Sri Lanka LKY -The Man- SAJITH PREMADASA
    —————————————————————————
We see the birth of a deserving leader we awaited for a very long time , now we have him ,a peoples man with clean hands, clear visions, knowing exactly what a leader must say and not say, what exactly a leader must do to the Country, without any boastfulness of thine name, he did not say I Am this or that or I AM, “SAJITH PREMADASA” , nor did he boast of his father’s achievement, a true democratic leader who with total humility uttered words that only confirmed authority unto the people and without talking with the tongue in the cheek which is by default of most politicians, he said I will do what you call. upon me to.
He has not only the blessings of all The people -he has the blessing of all the religious clergies.
He has already passed the test and age the “Muslim yogi (Sufi) “refers to as the 2 naffs (states of minds controlled by one’s bodily hormones) now he is in control of the 3rd and final stage of his naffs ((Mind) he is in control indeed.
Please give the mandate to the man who deserves it, he will bring peace, love, he will uplift the beloved of God, who are poor living in poverty, discreetly in tears everyday,he will give strength to our beloved farmers, our poor voiceless tea plucking ladies, who wake up at 3 am and climb the hill in cold climates when we are comfortably asleep, our poor young housemaids suffering in the middle east, our brilliant children who struggle to study, who are studying on their own with no tutoring, some with no financial help either from state or even from any religious organizations, they work day and night to support themselves and their education, very few people know them as they are invisible with no drama,

I believe it should never be removed instead rephrased stating The President has the right to replace the PM and prorogue the parliament but not the way it was done ,but officially after informing the parliament and permitting it in that manner in future if necessity requires.

If they remove it totally it could create a loophole for people with evil intentions to abuse it .
The President may be sincere at this moment but not others .

Invite a neutral man to be the PM; not a UNPer or SLFP/SLPPer.

    Let me propose Devananda.

      Real Revolutionist
President can’t “appoint PMs” according to his whims and fancies.
What will happen is, one day in the future, there will a court case against him asking explanations for undue interference in the Parliament by going beyond his powers. He could be jailed just for what he did. Because it is serious.

        Champa

        It’s not whim & fancy.

A person who can garner support according to his understanding can be appointed, like he appointed RW without adequate UNP MPs in the house just after his being elected.

How can that be going beyond his powers when appointing the PM is president’s vested power?

To the best of my knowledge there’s no way to question the president on that.

Defeating him with majority vote is a different matter.

He’s right to sack RW & wrong to appoint MR, an expensive mistake.

He can’t frustrate the majority in the country by enthralling meaningless majority in the parliament, that doesn’t reflect actual voter support of the country because people gave mandate for RW & MS to go together, they’re apart now so the mandate is invalid.

Minor parities shouldn’t support RW/MR in a vote.

All these problems were created by contesting a common candidate to defeat MR & the blame must be taken by the UNP for current expensive impasse.

The behaviour of the president is commendable. HE was not trying to buy people the way Ranil or Mahinda rajapske bought. HE behaves like a Hitler when the country needs. Sri lanka needs a dictator who loves the country and not a thief like Ranil who emptied the banks and was destroying the country

Can you explain what this emptying of the banks mean . Today the TB rate is 11.5 % . Is the 30 year bond high or lower than this .

Looks like Sira is in the shits ..
Rajitha the Big UNP Mover & Shaker says he got the High Court and the Parliament in the Bag already.
    -.
He promised that mammoth rally ,he will have even the Executive in the by the Weekend..
It must be the same Bag, I guess.
This UNP must be one colossal, almighty Power even bigger than Hercules..

    Wonder where Dr Ranil is?.
Because I didn’t seem him, when his two loyal Boys were trying to stab Johnny and the other young dude from Kandy..
And most of the Portraits at the UNP Rally were of Keselwatta Kid .
Wonder where all that crowd came from?.
I didn’t see any Tie Coats and Tight Custom Tailored Dresses with Hair Does & Make Up which are the Hall Mark of Dr Ranil, followers…

This is not a contest between Ranil and Mahinda

This is a contest between India/US and China

Sri Lanka is in the middle of a cold war

We have to be aligned these days or we are dis integrated

How is Singapore managing? How is Japan managing? How is Philippines managing? How is Australia managing? How is Indonesia managing? in this new world order?

Sri Lanka – Governments- politicians- diplomats- civil society – government officials – armed forces
Should think very seriously about these matters.

    Without bickering against each other.

This is contest between civilized people and the uncivilized.

Civilized – those who respect democracy and law and order

Uncivilized- those who try to disrespect the law and order and the ethical and moral rights in the parliament.

Those attacked Honrouable Karujayasooriya yesterday should be BEHEADED on open air so that people can feel justice is served

    Mr. President,

Your time is up……please leave now like a gentleman. The more you hang on and the more you speak, the entire country loses faith in you. Everything you say and do now, goes against you.

So please leave now…before its too late.

    Yours truly,

“Once bitten twice shy.” He already broke the promise given to Ven Maduluwe Sobitha Thera that he would remove all excessive executive powers. He betrayed UNF and several other organizations too.

He used backdoor to appoint MARA as PM. Then sacked sitting PM. These powers were negated to him once 19th amendment to constitution was passed with overwhelming majority years ago.

If you give him a yard, he would take a mile. Be careful.

Mr. Sirisena and Mahinda ‘s party of hooligans brought disrepute to the country. Foreign ambassadors were watching and taking photos. The disrespect caused to the speaker’s chair caanot be pardoned. Disciplinary action should be taken against the MP who sat in the Speakers chair. The Mafia leader Sirisena will try to work out another strategy to see UNP and Opposition do not take over the power
