Sirisena Who Failed To Implement Recommendations Of Bond Commission Now Wants To Release Full Report

President Maithripala Sirisena, who purposely neglected implementing the key recommendations by the Treasury Bonds Commission, has informed the members of his purported Cabinet that he would release the full report of the Commission soon.

Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, a member of the purported Cabinet confirmed that the full report of the Bond Commission would be released next week.

Commenting on Sirisena’s move, former Central Bank Governor and a de facto financial advisor to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Ajith Nivard Cabraal said, “If that happens, many MPs who are today performing before the media will not be able to show their faces.” However, Cabraal himself is accused of many financial frauds during his tenure as the Central Bank government including Sri Lanka’s controversial investments in Greek bonds.

Sirisena, according to sources, is of the strong view that the content of the report will exert pressure on ousted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to step down from the UNP leadership. The report also refers to the conduct of several UNP Parliamentarians including former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

Sirisena is now attempting to release full report without even fulfilling the main recommendations of the bond commission. The report said, “similar incidents as revealed in the Commission Report had happened even in 2008. The Commission recommends that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka should first conduct a forensic audit with regard to the alleged fraud and corrupt practices from 2008 onwards, and based on such findings, legal actions should be taken.”

Despite these recommendations, Sirisena did not take any meaningful step to probe into similar questionable transactions that took place between 2008 and 2015, under the Rajapaksa administration.

“We have no objections about releasing commission reports. We introduced the Right to Information (RTI) and we believe that the public has a right to know the content of these reports. However, by releasing the report now, President Sirisena is trying to gain petty political mileage. It shows nothing but Sirisena’s political opportunism,” a senior UNP Parliamentarian and a former Cabinet Minister told Colombo Telegraph responding to the President’s move.

The Central Bank has frozen all bank accounts belonging to Perpetual Treasuries and has prevented the management of the company from moving its money. Sirisena-Wickemesinghe government previously said as the bank accounts had been frozen, it could recover any financial loss caused by Perpetual Treasuries through the bond deal.

When asked whether the Commission report would have names of 118 MPs who received money for Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjuna Aloysius as predicted by UPFA lawmakers, the Parliamentarian said it was a fabricated story.

“It was Dayasiri Jayasekera who stated this first when it was revealed that he received from Arjuna Aloysius. He diverted the public attention saying that 118 MPs have requested money from Aloysius. I am 100% confirmed that the commission report will not have names of 118 MPs, but we need to see how it refers to Dayasiri Jayasekera’s conduct,” the MP added.

One behind the other he has been acting like a 4-legged animal.

So this is nothing new about the person. Need of the hour is to come forward and work for getting this animal and appoint an able president.

The solution is simple: Sira should impeach Bondscam Ranil for looting the Central Bank with crook Mahendran and Penthouse Ravi K. and then ask UNP to find another less corrupt leader.

Bottom line is: Bondscam Ranil and his Royal mafia, Penthouse Ravi, Mahendran Mallick, Harsha, who are looting and selling Lanka to their Washington handlers on advice of Millennium Challenge Corp and IMF Economic hit men must GET OUT and be held accountable for destroying the Lankan economy, the debt trap ad crashing rupee.

If the full report exposes members of all MP’s who accepted money from Perpetual Treasuries so be it. The public needs to know who these traitors are. But why did he delay this? And Why now? What about the PRECIFAC report, consisting of 1,135 pages handed over to him with much fan fare in Jan 2018.? Has he acted on it or is it gathering dust somewhere? Why did he appoint ministers to his new “cabinet” while they had pending court cases against them? It has been now proved beyond any doubt that he gave instructions to the IGP to transfer IP Nishantha. Why is nobody questioning him about this?. The DM today gives the full exposure. It is an absolute mockery that his “government” has refused to sit in parliament. Making lame excuses because they cannot survive without a majority. He is stark raving mad and must be impeached forthwith.

So, this is how the truth emerges in this country: the thieves have to fall out with each other.
    .
It is my fervent hope that there won’t be 112 names in that list. How depressing it would be to not find one honest man among the 225+1.
    .
I’m convinced that there are honest people in the country, it’s just we don’t vote for them. I thought that Yahapalanaya was different, and voted only for Sirisena in January 2015.
    .
Before that I used to always use all three preferences at Presidential Elections. People like Bahu Karunaratne and Wije Dias of the Social Equality Party used to get my first and second preferences. Then, perhaps, one of the “major contenders”. I’m no Marxist, but those guys are neither racist, nor crooks. Eccentric maybe.
    .
How many even know that one can express reservations in this way?

SL is a democratic country & there should be transparency. So lets see the full report. In fact, why was it kept under wraps all this time? If the commission was diligent enough, the benefactors of the scam (including the small fish) should come to light & the law of the country should take it’s course on those responsible for any fraud committed & their assets seized to recover the losses.

Seems Sirisena wanted to hold on to the aces till the right time. Wonder if he got anymore aces up his sleeve to implicate MR when the time comes? Withholding or knowingly suppressing evidence is a criminal offence. Doesn’t this seem to be same?

The SOONER you release, the COMPLETE REPORT containing ALL the NAMES cited therein, the better for all the citizens of the country to IDENTIFY and KNOW who they are, you opted to keep a secret. On the same subject of Presidential Commission Reports, I would very kindly request you to RELEASE all the NAMES of those cited “GUILTY” of “Bribery”; “Corruption”; “Mismanagement” by the PRECIFIC. I think you have “Sixteen” (16) completed REPORTS in your closet. Please, please, RELEASE those too. I will give my “Vote” to you, on condition that you ACT on the recommendations too. Thank you

This man knows fully well that he too is trapped well and good in the bad Karmas that he had committed for the last few decades as the politician.
It won’t be long before he too be hauled in front of CID for interrogation.
He’s not immuned from charges. Days / months / years are numbered for this bugger too.
In the mean time he’s throwing everything including the kitchen sink in the act of diverting the possible criminal acts of he himself had committed.

Aiyo, Aiyo Sirisenaaa, you lost all your senses and bearings. Today the country and the world disowned you. All of them would take you, your actions and your words with a pinch of salt. Walk on streets, and see the pulse of the people. All of them are really disgusted with you, and mad at you, and they know well and tuly that you are doing all these to prolong your stay in power. You are sadly mistaken, by your dirty deeds you missed the bus, and now, your days are over for good. You, your fake PM, fake ministers, fake state ministers and fake deputy ministers violated the constitution by forming an illegal, undermocratic and unconstitutional government. Hence, all of you are traitors, and the people are waiting to teach good lessons for all of you for these crimes.

It is not 118 .. It is 109…….
The talk of the Town is trying to work out who the fat UNP Heavy ,Cabinet Minister who is the main Poll bearer protecting Dr Raiil trying to desperately stop the Prez releasing the Full Bond Rorters List.
When the Prez ignored his pleas, the ex Minister has approached two close friends of the Prez and begged them to take the ex Cabinet Minister to meet the Prez..

Few names have been mentioned in various Blogs.
But I am not going to name them here …..Because its unethical…-

Wonder who this ex Cabinet Minister who is “100% Confirmed” .
And promises to pay back the Santhosams from the PTL Bank Accounts which have been Frozen.

This must be one from Dr Ranil’s new Yahapalana Justice in his new Constitution.
Otherwise this ex Cabinet Minister must be the Chairman /MD/CEO of all PTL Companies Incorporated..

BTW , Keselwatta Kid is going around in the open. But haven’t seen or heard about Mallika and Ponny .
Wonder whether they are on Summer Holidays ….

At last names would be out. We look foward to see how Ranil and his gangsters have been sharing out their bond scam loot and buying out MPs and government officials. Why worry about Dayasiri, think about own backsides? My own assessment is rogues do not have any shame or fear, so naming names would make no difference to them. But at least the public would know that their demo gods are corrupt and deserve to burn in hell.

Majority of Sri Lankans accept bribery and corruption as a way of life. They don’t have the education or the intelligence to realize that on the long term they and the future generation are the ones who will eventually pay. That’s why our politicians brazenly indulge in bribery and corruption and even appoint individuals who are accused to high positions as they know that if they dangle a carrot to these masses they will forget and forgive and vote for them again and again.

We hear a lot about Bond Scam where the loss to the country was 19 Billion. But those who mention the bond scam fail to mention the Hedging Scam where the loss to the country was 10.2 Billion.
In fact, there were and would be several such scams where the country has lost billions and trillions, and a small group of people have become filthy rich at the expenses of the majority of Sri Lankans present and future.

At present the future looks gloomy for our country unless educated professionals, educated intellectuals belonging to all ethnic and religious groups form a party and as a start at least educate the public of the importance of proper economic management for a better future for at least the future generation.

    Dear Author and all participants,
The question here is which criminal puts the other criminal behind bars? The fault lies mainly with the UN and the international community not taking prompt action against well known criminals and allowing them to play key roles in a Country’s leadership! What a golden opportunity Sri Lanka has to curb all crimes and go forward when help is offered by UN! The Sri Lankan Learned elites under siege by the criminals must take the initiative at least at this moment rather than allowing the Country to go down further.
