Norwegian Peace facilitator Erik Solheim is due to respond against the accusations that President Rajapaksa levelled against him a few days ago when he alleged that Solheim was actively facilitating LTTE funding.
After reading Tisaranee Gunasekara’s article “Elections, Mahinda And The Tiger“, Solheim responded to the allegations yesterday, through a message on his official Twitter handle @SolheimDAC in which he has stated that he will ‘set the truth straight’ today with concern to the accusations levelled against him.

Solheim’s response via Twitter is made just a day after President Rajapaksa accused him of funding the LTTE during a rally in Kurunegala. He had gone on to state that the Norwegian government should launch an investigation into Solheim’s alleged dealings with the LTTE and of how he intervened in facilitating the funding for the terrorist group.
President Rajapaksa during his address had further criticized Solheim for backing the LTTE and concerning his willingness to give evidence before the OHCHR led investigation against Sri Lanka.

Eric visited Global Tamil Forum (GTF) just last week. Ranil Wickramasinghe visited them the week before that apparently. Both went with good intentions I’m sure.

Solheim is right King Kong is manipulating the LTTE Norway connection to drum up his vote base as the election is looming.
Beyond that a hell of a lot of Norwegian funds ended up in VP War Chest. That is fact. Prolonged the war. Killed and maimed many Sri Lankans of all ethnicities.
If Solheim has a monopoly on “The Truth” that must be revealed in Geneva.
Millions of Norwegian Kroners were raised by LTTE Norway directly from the public. By playing innocent victim to unsuspecting, well-meaning Norwegians. It worked well for nearly 30 years.
Numerous LTTE front groups were raising more millions from the diaspora as well. From both willing and unwilling Tamils.
They also milked many other sources for funds. Both state and private organizations. LTTE fund raising events galore in Norway for 30 years.
Nobody stopped them. LTTE was running a lot of propaganda from Norway too.
If that is not enough, LTTE managed to get their hands on millions of Norwegian tax payers’ money too. Intended for developing countries as aid.
Both Solheim & Norway were conned by the LTTE by projecting an image of a serious partner for peace.
To this day LTTE is not listed a terrorist outfit by Norway. However, Al Qaeda, ISIS & Ansar Al Islam are terrorist groups according to the Norwegian system. Solheim must explain to all peace-loving Sri Lankans how that is possible.
This hypocrisy serves our King Kong truly well. Most Sri Lankans are deeply suspicious of Norway’s intentions. For King Kong that is a solid vote magnet.
Solhiem’s “peace expertise” is largely responsible for this pathetic situation.

Not just Solheim, Akhasi, Blake, Shiv Shankar all should come and explain how did they created a Royal Dynasty in Lanka? How did they manage the UN to make it keep quite?
Even long after Gordon Wise reveled in his book, why the truth is not coming from Solhiem. Is he waiting King to lose power, so he can just put the blame on King and escape?
Not just reveling in his tweeter, a on side story, that is what King is doing in Lanka, Solhiem should voluntarily submit him for cross examination by effective international NGOs.
