I hope at least a few of you out there would shift away from Dialog and Etisalat (you don’t really have to tell them why; I’m sure when the numbers start going up they’ll figure out reason.)

If a few of you can post here your experience on switching to a different carrier that would be excellent and encourage others to do the same.

Come-on people, change does not come out of think air; you have to work for it. And don’t wait for the UN or the International Community to fix all your problems. Take the initiative and do something.

Start small… if enough people make small changes the final result will be a big one.

      Robert,

I heard that the Twitter Stock price keeps going down, sticker TWTR.

what is the contribution to this price decline by the President, Mr. Rajapaksa?

Next time the President lies on Twitter, it is good time to short

      a)

      Twitter?

      b) The President?

      c) Both a and b above.

      Just curious.

For SLT users; As a quick measure to bypass such filtering we have enforce secure connections to the website, we advise to all readers to reach the site using HTTPS.
    https://www.colombotelegraph.com
For Etisalat and Dialog users; You need to change dns servers in your computer.
    You can use google fns:

    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
    or opendns servers:

    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220

Here is an article on how to do it:

of their daily Editions for future guidance to all CT patrons.

If you got nothing to hide, why are you (GOSL) blocking ?

Curtailing the Press is a sure sign of a dictatorship.

What is the point screaming your heads off at the rogues and hooligans? Isn’t it the idiotic masses, who voted, not just once, but twice and also overwhelmingly supported the extension of regime-control by eliminating term-limits that is responsible for this mess!

They frankly seem to be deep in slumber still.

Blocking the CT site sounds violated for many of us. Unfortunately, this kind of site blocking happens in most western countries too. Al qaeda will never allowed to host a website in the US: it is considered a threat to the country. Does anyone complain? No

      1

When did Ct become a threat to the country?

Are you saying Darshanie Ratnawalli, Michael Roberts and Malinda Seniviratne are threats to the country?

My my , someone has got his knickers in a twist !

      • 3
        5

        Robert,
How intellectually challenged are you? You need to understand that a threat for one person will not be a threat to someone else. If you ask a Sinhalese whether the LTTE is a threat to Sri Lanka and if you ask a Tamil terror supporter the same question the answers will be the opposite.

        • 9
          2

Nonsense, first you compare Ct to alqueda, and then when your knickers are in a knot you compare Ct to LTTE.have you got a brain?

you are the type of people who are leading this country over the brink, over a cliff and when that happens you jokers will be missing, deserting the sinking ship like rats.

@Eusense, you are a fellow with no sense. Al Qaeda Vs. CT? One is a newspaper and the other is an international Terrorist outfit. Bloody fool talking through his arse again.

I don’t think the LTTE fascists and their enablers known as human rights activists and good governance experts are really worried about this alleged censorship as they have already made up their minds, they don’t need any new information. They are not looking to learn anything. On the contrary they are secretly wishing for this sort of thing to sling more mud at the reputation of their country.

I believe the King wants to take us back to the “Berey” (Drum)days,
where information was passed onto the subjects by beating the “Berey”.
All this western technology does not suit our culture and is not for his
subjects. It is only good for his family who try to mimic the west and look like round pegs in a square holes!!!

MR is a systematic liar. Not only about the websites being banned but about the numbers of soldiers still held in the nothern soils according to recent speech was just 12 000. Few days later, his secretary said atleast 80 000 of soldiers should be there today. So,this man is born to drop blatant lies, lies that people would not even think he could add- are being made by the man.

At the moment that is only one sector that can commence a sure-fire
Regime change, which will be supported by the Villagers too – that is
a clique of disgruntled men in the Forces & Police. Gota may be aware of
this possibility and that is why all high-rankers are mollycoddled and
“Files” held back in MRs closet!

The president is a good liar and totally delusional. He has been dishonest about most issues, and blocking any publication to stifle criticism and the truth from being written, is part of his dishonesty. Those who are guilty are afraid. The UN already know this.
