The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka (MCSL) has called upon the leader of the terror group Islamic State (IS) – Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to put an immediate stop to the massacre of innocent humans in the name of Islam.

MCSL Vice President Hilmy Ahamed releasing a statement has condemned the continued executions of innocent civilians, journalists and aid workers by the IS of which the most recent victim is American journalist Steven Sotloff.
Describing these executions as ‘cheap and abusive students’ carried out by the brutal terrorists to intimidate the whole world, Ahamed has pointed out that these actions have no place in Islam or in the teaching of Prophet Muhammad.
“Islam forbids torture, harassment and murder of even combatants,” he has written, to further emphasize his arguments.
He has gone on to state that these actions of the IS are crimes that should be condemned by all nations and have called upon the international community including all Islamic countries to act decisively against the IS who have embarked on a killing spree that Islam forbids.
“We also call upon all Muslims around the word to engage in prayers for the victims,” the statement further read.

Why are you bringing into comparison apples and oranges? Don’t you see both are not the same? One is the non-Musloims of the western nations invading and killing Muslims living in Muslim countries, whilst the other is Muslims killing Muslims in the name of Islam. They are not the same. It doesn’t take much to recognize that. Of course in the end, it is the Muslims who are most affected, through killings and maimed for life.
In my opinion this is a classic sectarian and political war combined that is going on with no clear lines drawn to differentioate the two. On the one hand it is the Sunni Shiite conflict, whilst on the other and it is the battle to topple regimes both in Syria and Iraq and set up an Islamic Caliphate. Having been politically victimized and isolated from any/all active participation in any of the political dialogues, be it in the ruling party nor as opposition parties, they have now resorted to use strong arm terror tactics to claim what they feel is their legitimate rights. They sense that If they don’t grab this opportuity now, it will slip away from them forever. They know that they cannot expect any help from any of the Western powers, nor support from any of the puppet regimes of the Middle Eastern countries who themselves depend on Israel and America to keep themselves perpetually in power. The IS army is fighting a fierce battle against enemies of Islam and anyone against their cause, and they will kill or get killed in the process. My support goes to them for their braveness and courage to take on the might of a super power and still not loose sight and focus on their objectives. Already we are witnessing the make up of their foreign fighters (nearly 10,000 already and willing to grow if only they call up and request support). This is no rag-a-tag army, but well disciplined, well trained, die-hard, battle hardened soldiers at war. They are using western hostages and killing them in full view, in order to use these images as bargaining chips to stop drone attacks targetting them and USA’s involvement. I wish them success and willing to join IS for the preservation of Islam.

The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.
After the presentations, time was
provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed
my question to the Muslim and asked:
‘Please, correct me if I’m wrong,
but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared
a holy jihad [Holy war] against the
infidels of the world and, that by
killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims)
they are assured of a place in heaven.
If that’s the case, can you give me
the definition of an infidel?’
There was no disagreement with my
statements and, without hesitation,
he replied, ‘Non-believers!’
I responded, ‘So, let me make sure
I have this straight. All followers of
Allah have been commanded to kill
everyone who is not of your faith so
they can have a place in heaven.
Is that correct?’
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.’
He sheepishly replied, ‘Yes.’
I then stated, ‘Well, sir, I have
a real problem trying to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr.Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!’

This is just simply untrue, and further from the truth. The Prophet of Islam has raught Muslims that killing a single person is like killing all of humanity, and saving a person from death is like saving all of humanity. May be the Imam may not be conversant enough with limited knowledge or sheepish enough not to meet your challenge. None of the religions of the Abrahamic faiths teach killing others of different faith to attain paradise. It is only the Christians themselves who claim that Jesus was agonizingly killed on the Cross for their own salvation, whereas Islam and Muslims save him from this ignomity by reading from Allah’s revelation in the Holy Quran that ‘they killed him not, but it was made to appear so to them.’
What you quote from Quran is completely out of context, and there are many Scholars who have explained these texts in detail. Pity, George Galloway, the British MP hadn’t read the Koran properly for he is a Muslim apologist. Otherwise, he she should have known that there is this word ‘kill’ 133 times in 100 verses in the Koran as a command to Muslims read by their Prophet as Allah’s word.
So, never mind the context, even peace nicks like Zakir Naik never explains why there has so many verses with the word ‘kill’ in the Koran, if “the Prophet of Islam has taught Muslims that killing a single person is like killing all of humanity, and saving a person from death is like saving all of humanity” in the general sense and Islam is a peaceful religion in particular.
Marwan is kidding, leave out indirectly threatening verses like Koran 48:29 that says “Mohammed is God’s apostle. Those who follow him are harsh to the unbelievers but merciful to one another”, there are literally hundreds of worse verses than above that makes so many Muslims jihadists.

What Islam says with respect to a girl’s eligibility
for marriage,is based on her natural growth to
maturity.Islam says a girl is ready for marriage once
she reached her puberty.Age of puberty can vary from
girl to girl.Islam does not allow sex before marriage
and Hindus and Buddhists are all in that culture in
India and Srilanka.And Islam doesn’t encourage Muslims
in anyway to marry girls as soon as they get eligible.
It only states when a girl is ready.What really
happened in the old days was,women were not expected
to earn their living and men looked after them and
this was the case in all religions.As a result,they
were married off as early as possible by their
parents.Even today,there are cases where so many girls
of non-muslim communities,fall in love with boys at
the age of eight,even before puberty and end up in
marriage when convenient.You don’t need a religion for
that.Modern societies in sharp contrast,put off their
marriage for purely academic and then economic reasons.
More girls go to universities ending up at 22 when out
and then waiting for employment another two or three
years,already 25 and another 2-3 years dating and
finally nearly or more than 30 when decided to marry.
So,marriage under even twenty has become a kind of
either helpless cases or ultra rich money spinners
who don’t care anything else.While this is being the
real ground situation,some dedicated extreme racists
keep trying to turn almost everything Islamic,into
their never ending hatred of Muslims.Also we must
remember that sex before marriage has been the major
contributor to taking time to for marriage and under
this circumstance one can wait until even 40,50 or
even more.Ending,I would prefer a girl to marry
before twenty five.As far as the eligibility of a
girl is concerned,what Islam says is,even
