“Sri Lanka’s Parliament voted overwhelmingly on Friday to impeach the chief justice, deepening a standoff between the judiciary and the government, which is controlled by the country’s most powerful family. President Mahinda Rajapaksa will now decide whether Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake should be dismissed.” the Washington Post reaports.

What will happen if the Court gives the verdict on the government members of the PSC and the Parliamentarians for contempt of court. Will they be removed from office. Will the judges or the military sit in Court hereafter. Utter disgrace to Sri Lanka and Buddhism. Parliament appears as a House of savages in the eyes of the world.

NO ONE IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE GOD WHO CREATED US. THESE IDIOTS ARE ON THIS EARTH ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME. EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY NOTHING IS PERMANENT. ONLY THE ONE WHO KNOWS THIS WILL HAVE A HAPPY AND FRUITFUL LIFE. GOD CAN CREATE AND ALSO DESTROY. WE SHOULD REALIZE THIS.

Danny boy should have known that Buddhists, 70% of this country are not theists. Buddha had categorically said ‘the creator God’ is a myth.

Bring better arguments -Leela why they PSC and Speaker failed answer the questions raised by the opposition.

It is easy task to represent the goons, but you will never be able to represent the ones who respect justice. Entire world including lanken opposition are well aware that the current impeachment was illegal.

They proved that manipulating the masses is a simple in current day srilanka. This is common also in Simbabwe. Wait and see how long the gangsters play their roles in this way.

          Samare,
Yesterday in parliament, Wimal Weerawansa has replied to all your queries very very eloquently. Soon you can hear it in youtube.

What justice you are talking. Do you know that majority or five Appeal Court judges have written to the Appeal Court President Justice Skandarajah who head the bench that delivered the Judgement for CJ’s Writ Application 411/2012 to accuse him that he has brought disrepute to the Court of Appeal on bias judgement? Await for details of how PSC was made illegal. It will come to light very soon.

Black coats had started this disruption. Remember, it was all started by shouting filth and smashing coconuts in streets opposite Supreme Court and cursing the elected President. Government backers hadn’t respond. Black coats misread that quietness as weakness.

Thereafter they had congregated with many a accused in various courts in front of SC to wish good luck to Chief Justice on her way to PSC. What a political show. They had street processions with anti nationals thereafter. They hanged black flags in court buildings illegally yesterday. But for you all those are decent display of rights by educated people.

When ordinary folks like us enjoy parliament voting that ousted a woman who had defrauded 9000 Golden Key depositors, and had done fourteen other misdemeanour while being the CJ and have been scheming to divide this country with rump LTTE and NGOs and their sponsors by lighting crackers were manipulated masses and gangsters. What a twisted mind you have. When villages hear this sort of comments they do not like it.

Its Greece that is going towards Zimbabwe not Sri Lanka. The US is marching towards a fiscal cliff. It in debt more than its GDP. Entire western world is in a mess. Go to a restaurant in Spain and count how many well dressed people would come to you to ask money to buy some food. See the status of Pakistan, Iraq and Gaza. We Sri Lankans are at peace. We are in a heaven compared to people who live in those countries because of Rajapakse. Separatists, NGOs and their sponsors wanted us to go back to pre 2009.

Sinhalas do not want to do that.

What LTTE has not achieved, the Rajapaksians now have – a totalitarian regime under one leader, who says it all. Sri Lanka should be deeply ashamed – how could this happen?
Now, as if not enough worrying things are happening, there will be much more from the international side. Srilankas will have to suffer even more for the chaotic blunders of a truely klepotkratic regime.
