‘Stick To Your Commitments’ – UN Tells Sri Lanka

The United Nations has called on the Sri Lanka Government to stick to it’s commitments while also underscoring the importance of ensuring accountability.

Stéphane Dujarric

Stéphane Dujarric

Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, reiterated that there are agreements between Sri Lanka and the international community and therefore “Sri Lanka should stick to those agreements.”

“There are issues between the international community and Sri Lanka and agreements to ensure accountability. And we hope those are followed,” he said.

Dujarric shared his views yesterday at the daily press briefing in New York when a journalist asked about the Secretary‑General’s view on Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena’s recent statement that there will be no international judges in the working of accountability procedures, which has been described as a stepping back from the earlier stance of the President, for which he received praise from international community.

We should seriously think about this matter. Otherwise we would be in trouble.

“Otherwise we would be in trouble.”

The state and the government are already in trouble.

Clever maneuvering by clever dicks in the state and government will take this island nowhere as we have witnessed in the past. Obviously, it is going to prolong the suffering of all people.

If the state and the government want to get out of the pit, both must stop digging.

The clever dicks never learned any lessons from the past.

        N.V,
There is an elephant in the room. Nobody wants to talk about this invisible animal. It is the Army.
Many people wanted war. They got it as requested. Now they can’t demob the soldiers, neither can they pay off the loans taken for the war and its aftermath. Senior officers have taken it upon themselves to make political statements. Any politician who dares to go against them will be risking their necks. So a war crimes investigation is a very remote possibility. The UN is not going to stop pushing either.
Who to tell this to, men??

“”Who to tell this to, men??””

Both Obama and Ban ki-moon were in power but both will quit into oblivion by the end of year. Samantha wants the army for UN peacekeeping like what the Brits had of the Nepali gurkhas.

“one-man melting pot” Boris is foreign Secretary and he would give SL government a hard time.

Hillary would be a mess for Asia- war!

Boris born in New York is liked by Trump.

IAF India can disarm Lanka in 3 days unlike Bangala but they won’t burn their fingers again and expect Lanka to burn by self.

NV can only spell out `we can do it` but can’t do what the Japanese and Germans did for themselves after WW2.
Socialism is a dead animal of Asia.

‘Stick To Your Commitments’ – UN Tells Sri Lanka!

Have Sri Lankan rulers or Sinhalese politicians ever stuck to their commitments or promises that brings rights and justice to Tamils?

In most instances, it is a resounding NO!

Let’s see if they can take the UN and the international commuinity also for a ride and wriggle out.

Sri Lankan forces have given justice to terrorists, accept it man, can’t you bear up it?

Why should Sri Lanka Take the UN & IC for a ride?

Apparently Tamil diaspora has taken the UN for a ride.

              well; they’ll learn a lesson.

CIA fact sheet: The new government in 2015 drastically increased wages for public sector employees, which boosted demand for consumer goods but hurt the overall balance of payments and reduced foreign exchange reserves.

BBC:Iranians are angry about big bonuses paid to bureaucrats.
How much can you earn working for the Iranian state?
That question is trending online in Iran, after the payslips of several employees were leaked online and published by several media outlets.
They showed not just inflated salaries, but what appear to be bonuses, interest-free loans and significant overtime payments. In one instance, a bank manager at a state bank was shown to have received £50,000 in one month.
By contrast, other public servants – including those who identified themselves as teachers, nurses and journalists – have published monthly payslips showing some of them are paid much more modest salaries of £300 a month or less.
Media outlets backing conservative political factions have used the issue to criticise the moderate-leaning government of President Rouhani.
          ……
Another user, however, declared he was “fed up” and said he hoped he could “hold this government to account”. The channel did not identify the users who had sent in the clips.
Some Iranian Twitter users also debated the issue tongue-in-cheek.
One tweeted an infographic featuring the monthly income of several world leaders with the following quip: “Obama has sent over his resume and is seeking employment with a bank in Iran, once his presidency ends.”

Well done, Sir. Thank you. Yes, make them stick to the agreements.

However, they won’t. Ask many Sri Lankans. Look at the history since independence in 1948. Look at how the Citizen’s rights protected by the Constitution were treated.

So, you need to twist some arms and legs. Break a few legs. Then, they will be forced to act to the agreements,

      We are already in trouble.

None of the cases investigated sofar met with proper verdicts.

Those abusive murderers to let stay scot free is the number question, the rulers have to find answers.

few hundres or thousands of billions have been grabed by their mismanagements – but nothing has been improved with the tracing process. That makes it even difficult to see when at all the cases woudl find its ends.
Making the gneeral public life long debtors with sky high price hikes not allowing them to have normal life is beyond the made murders.
No matter all these could be as it may.. the king of mafia stays open – we see him go merry go round from one temple to other.. while his brother is on high talks about deviding the country toppling the govt.. etc.. all in all the headaches of the average are on a rise not being able to tolerate the stale mate or snail moves as seen to date.

The East must understand one important think. The West won’t let us to be on top that easily. It is not walking in a park. We must fight with them tactfully to defeat them. We must defeat the invaders who kill in millions to occupy others’ homelands. We must expose their true evil face, and work together as Asians to ignore their orders. The world’s minority who invaded others’ homelands on genocide, and currently occupying others’ homelands is preaching democracy, human rights, law and order and good governance, because we allow them to do so.

Yes they invaded the Tamil and Sinhala homeland and then amalgamated both homelands and called it Ceylon and when they left they gave to Ceylonese and now you have grabbed the Homeland of the Tamils. Please return it to the rightful owners. Actually you are a beneficiary of the western invasion to have the Tamil land for you.

Plato, what if we asked UN to start investigations into various violations done by powerful nations like US, UK to humanity? At least in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya in recent time? Wont it be like “throwing water on a Ducks Tail”? Or will it be fruitful?

You will never change- you the like are a curse to this country this nation. U know why, you the majority prion filled brains have no space to see it right -not the least. If Leelawathies, Sinchos, Native Veddas, Sirimal, Srilal or not forgetting Silva and Thrisus wwere the majority of this nation – we could leave the world thinking that the future generations will not face the way we did it. Unfortunately the sad truth is – Maxes, Sachese, Buurwanse animated dimwits have taken over the leading role of the society to this date.
Meeharaka Rajaakshe was questioned ” as to why only the Rajakashes are targeted by the current govt/instead of police/courts – alone the question raiser has biased to Rajakashes here… ” so long journo mafia would be part of Maxes led folks – we can see good news being shared with the simple simons of the society. They are the stubmling blocks of the systems being introduced by the current regime.
US visiting delegations praise the country – telling the ties have become as no times before – they clearly add the future can only be cleaner if the country would achieve their targets even if the moves are on snail paces. She makes it very clear – her 5th trip to lanka within last 18 months prove the intensitivity o fthe relatiionship – how can any professionals then criticise it that nothing is achieved ?

Only maxes or buruwanses will do so, but the brain holders will do the other way around. they have to realize so much is achieved in the line of external politics in saving the nation not allowing to fall the levels as had been under ALIBABA and40 thieves. All in all, I wish all these systems to allow all successes for all varied folks of the nation.

Maxes will be the minority of this nation in the days to come.
They can change their ends often as they want, but truth will finally succeed basta.

//US visiting delegations praise the country//

So, the US is the principal? If US says a particular country is in the right track, thats the gospel truth?

Stupidness has no limit with some men/women. Leela is there to prove that for the female category. Who’s going to take the spot for the male category? Anybody from the names that you have mentioned above?

To the credit of NV, he’s not blindly ‘do shopping’ for UNP like you fools do but he’s a spokes person for Tamil Chauvinism. So obviously, he’s not fit to do the job.

Leela (though ‘leelava is zero with you – I have to call you as such), do not forget the fact that the majority is not like maxes or sachs or buruwansas. 6.2 million people were to your ‘brainy’ camp. Am I to assume, that “brainy 62 lakhs” is responsible for the current mess of the country?

By the way, I am not entitle to any of both 62 or 58 caps at that time.

Matuarity can only be guided WITH Maxes being the guides.

They the dimwits will ruin th enation to all ends – being further close to the most abusive most known Rabble rouser of the day- Rajapakshe.

Crystal clear is that Namal Baby would not have chances to prove his innocience. The funds amounting 70Millions have been abused for his night club life- there the traces will show – how man young women would have been raped out – tortured out- may be few another murder cases will come to surface.

But the thing is you guys still go licking the balls of Suddas – that has become the nature of the day – see what do they have in SL today if not anglo based systems.
If English is being used you could get things done easily or not ? Colombo men andwomen are after English – that has been an issue them to be proud … over proud…. how the bugger Senasinge from London behaves… ( who the hell are you … ? )…. that has been the key part of the lanken cutlure today..

Whenever the downing street men and women do anything even being all wrongful, lankens or the once colonised nations do it the way the brites do. Why. .. why dont they have ties with other nations in Europe ? Now for example bloody nearly 0.5 million lanken migrants were kindly asked not to vote for Brexit.. what did they do ?

They did not even take it to a fart. That is the nature of srilanken blood in general – be them sinhalese tamils or other.. they dont care about the nation whole heartedly.

That is the way it is…. Max. You guys though just play with words, entire systems being applied by srlankens today are all from the English. They continuesly imitate the English though they were our colonial masters.. that looted the country and nation even going extra mile than the Rajapkshe did.

There are few things that we must get them out of the way.

You haven’t explained us the difference between Sinhala/Buddhism and Buddhism nor have you dealt with the difference between Sinhala/Buddhists and Sinhalese.

            What is Sinhala/Buddhists civilisation?

            What is Sinhala civilisation?

When did the Sinhala/Buddhists first acquire Sinhala/Buddhists consciousness?

” I will gather some info about cruelty done by suddas to our innocent people during their bloody 150odd years ruling SL.”

            Thanks for your help.

However I have more resources on Suddha’s exploitation of the people this island for 500 or so years, more than you could imagine.

Similarly I want you to gather information on how the local people were misled and exploited by a few. I am happy to learn.

The Suddas enter into your life through many ways. One of them is that when you don’t treat your people well Suddas see it as an opportunity and take advantage of your women folks, they grope them. So first treat your people well then launch a struggle to liberate the people from the clutches of Suddas.

In order to do that first we need to liberate Buddhism from Sinhala/Buddhism and Sinhalese from Sinhala/Buddhists. Will you join us?

Native, in an earlier thread, I have explained you briefly – as I can and within the limitations I have due to my rather poor communication skills – what I meant by S/B is.

King Pandukabhaya (367bc) had bring yaksha naaga and other sects who were in ‘hela-diva’ together and made a nation called sinhala. Then, during the time of king Dutugemunu, the S/B civilization was born. And that was the beginning of the ‘eksesath rajjya’ or the state under one flag. Since then, Sinhala and Budu Dahama were together, hand in hand.

Just like mahayana, heenayana and japan, china, thai, burma, bhutan or vietnam has their own budu dahama, ours is sinhala bududahama. That was the guide line for development, education, knowledge, military and every single thing we had in the past. Hence, it is s/b civilization.

I guess you have read Clash of Civilization by Samuel P. Huntington. It gives an understanding of differences of cultural and religious identities.

What do you mean by liberate Budu Dahama? Only a Budu Rajanan Wahanse can understand – without a single difference – as it is – what Budu Dahama is. Even Rahathan Vahanses wont have the capacity to understand Budu Dahama as it is. So, your liberate question has no value.

Yes suddas entered in many ways. And still continue to do so. As much as any other ethnicities, races Sinhalas too has their own weakness, shortcomings etc. In fact, I will give you a clue to take control of Sinhalas. Its nothing but “agreements”. Since year 1505 todate Sinhalas get caught to agreements. Let alone the infamous Doylie’s actions in 1815, what happend in January 2015, also was a result of ‘agreements’. VP’s system is anyway not the right path to get hold of the control of this country but the actions of ancestors of John Doylie. Guess you know what has happened to General Mcdowel or the plight of laskirigna unit, when they tried to get the administration by gun.

When he was president Mahinda Rajapakse used to make promises that he never intended to keep and give undertakings on which he never delivered.

Maithripala Sirisena is a carbon copy of his erstwhile master, at least as far as making promises and giving undertakings is concerned.

I think only people with certain distinct traits become politicians. Traits like hypocrisy, insincerity, avarice, and compulsion to tell lies and rob the peoples’ money.

President Sirisena is under massive pressure – NOT to stick to the commitments made at the last year’s meeting of UNHRC – by co-sponsoring the resolution adopted on Sri Lanka.
For him, survival as president is more important than “commitments” to the international community.

His political life is at stake.

Minister Samaraweera has of necessity to stick to what happened earlier, as an SL diplomat at the UNHRC meeting.

How both will co-exist in the same government is to be seen.
Interesting times are ahead – when Samaraweera and his clique return.

      Shankar,

Your question should be more along the lines of
what hope is there for reconciliation and a harmonious
      coexistence in Sri Lanka…
UN is only trying to help achieve that.
But as they say, you can take a horse to the water
but you can’t make it drink.

  • 3
    4

besides you should know our culture before you shoot your mouth.Come and live here and see whther anyone keeps their commitments.I know you are a big cumbersome inflexible organisation, but you should make an effort to study the cultures of the multitude of countries that are your members before insulting them like this, that they should keep to their commitments etc.In some countries like the west keeping commitments is sacrosanct while in some countries like ours if you keep to a commitment everyone will say you are a oddball.Since independence see whether we have ever stuck to any of our commitments.Nobody gets angry here if someone does not stick to their commitments. For exampple our president said he will do so many things if he got the job.He has not done any of those. Are we angry with him. No,we smile and felicitate him whreever he goes.

learn to be tolerant and flexible like us wthout trying to impose western culture on us just because the UN is dominated by western powers.

Even in the west if a man says he will marry a woman, how many really do.

Yes they have shown their true commitment by the desecrating a Hindu shrine in a strategic coastal Tamil Hindu village in the Trincomalee district destroyed Lord Ganesha’s statue thrown it away and have installed a Budda statue and planted a Bo tree.

This has been done by an extremist Buddhist monk and a large number of Sinhalese goons who appeared from no where. Now they are being given 24 hour protection by the racist Sinhalese occupying armed forces and the police, who are preventing the dismayed local Tamil villagers approaching the desecrated Hindu shrine and the destroyed Ganesha statue, that has now become Buddhist and the newly planted Bo tree.

Now they are all loudly clamouring for the area to be settled by Sinhalese Buddhists, since a Budda statue has been installed and a Bo tree planted. This is not an isolated incident but has been happening since independence in the Tamil north and east. Budda statues appearing from nowhere Bo tress planted and they guarded by the Sinhalese armed forces and police. Next some joker from the archaeological department arrives from Colombo and declares that this area was an ancient Sinhalese Buddhist site( Sic) and should be returned to the Sinhalese Buddhists. Within a few years all the Tamils in the area are ethnically cleansed Sinhalese from south settled in this new declared sacred Sinhalese Buddhist site and a new Sinhalese AGA division is formed.
Since 2009 this sort of behaviour has increased as most the Sinhalese their government and establishment are drunk with a form of racist victory and now there is the racist occupying Sinhalese army is there to realise this dream. This racist occupying Sinhalese armed forces and police should immediately be removed and all these illegal Sinhalese settlers extremist thugs monks and goons with their Budda statues and Bo trees should be removed immediately.
What is the Muslim Chief minister and the Sinhalese governor of the east doing in this Tamil province. Both busy in bed together to marginalise the eastern Tamils and steal their lands. Individually both these immigrant communities in the east could not have done much but now they have joined hands and with a racist occupying Sinhalese armed forces and police have started on their genocidal dance.
They are just sweet talking and trying to hoodwink the UN the west and India but a very set in their racist Sinhalese Buddhist agenda to annihilate the island’s Tamils their language culture and their ancient presence in the island.

The army continues to play a pivotal role in the affairs of the government. In Kilinochchi the army is running pre-schools and children attend classes in army uniform. The army/navy outplay each other in building Buddhist Viharas/ statues of Buddha in places where there are no Buddhists at state expense. Is the army/navy given powers to promote Buddhism according to their whims and fancies? These viharas and statues of Buddha dot the landscape of Northeast and have become symbols of conquest and occupation of Thamil land and people by the armed forces. Did Buddha asked his faithful to build his statues in market places, junctions and remote places?

Sri Lanka cannot be trusted for anything. They act first and then only think. Why then did My3 agree to co sponsor the UN resolution. Now he backtracks. If so he should have not agreed to sign the contract. He signed the contract and got various benefits and favours and then when it comes to abiding the contract he refuses. He acts like a real grade 5 school boy crying and runs to mama.

This is exactly the Government was doing all the time signing agreement with the Tamils parties and get the support to win elections and once won they tear the pact and dumped into garbage. Now they tried the same with the International community. No one should ever trust Sri Lankans who are a doomed.

The International community should understand a local inquiry again will be a waste of time, mockery and an insult to all respectful human beings. The solution is to have the inquiry totally outside Sri Lanka with totally International participation and no Sri Lankan involvement in the judicial process as they are the accused and so cannot sit in both places, as accused and also as judge in the delivery of justice.

commitments ,my foot.Did you double check with us first. If a guy here says he will come and see you at 10,you should check whether is morning or night first.Even our former PM chandrika will give you an appointment at 10 and when you come in the morning, you would have had to wait till 10 in the night to meet her after she has had her tot.Whose fault is it when you don’t check? If you want a work done by someone here and you ask how long it will take and they say dekeng keranda puluwan(can do in two)whose fault it is if you did not double check whther it was 2 days or 2 years?why i’am telling you all this you you UN hot shot, understand the culture of countries in this multicultural world before you open your big fat mouth. When we committed ourselves to have foreign participation did we specify that it will be during the investigation.Go and double check the fine print what we really meant was after the investigation was concluded by us, the foreign judges can come and we will take the them all over the country and shower them with our renowned hospitality and smiles. In ancient times we used to even allow visitors to sleep with the wife or daughter, thats how hospitable we were. Now you are twisting and turning our hospitability against us,you monocultural oaf.

This man is spoken on behalf of the UNO sectary general; First and foremost he should respect the legal Sovereignty of Sri lanka.

We are a democratic country since 1948, not that like other who invaded and occupy other land by force of gun-run politics of world which play the role of policeman politics of hegemonies “democracy”.

He should know that he is paid servant of UNO members funds , he has to be is mindfulness of his duty as servant of Nations, of 193 members of UNO.

Foreign judges is decided by voters of public ,our Republic Constitution not permitted at foreign judges that sitting in our Courts or our soil is that violating sovereignty of Judiciary of
    Sri lanka.

To bring oversees Judged to courts is illegal and not a single mandate of people sovereignty has been granted by majority consent or will of public. These historically unparalled achievements of the judiciary sovereignty in Sri lanka, that gain because that democratic society base on itself by the multifaceted reality of the civilization of our society.

By UNO spoken that request, further that he demand to abandon and undermined our legal system , move to be disintegrating these different elements unidimensionl interest not only which that Tamil terrorist narrow politics as well as, power of agent of USA,UK and Indian.

They in road map of which that targeted on the dismantle of solid legal and political setup by bringing ‘foreign Judges’ in Island.

In fact that will lead to lawless country like Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Egypt.

Ours legal system came into being which is assets to legal order that clear to be cater for the safeguard personal security, means and goal of democracy and safety of democracy an Island. The aim and perspective of legal order that has been builds civilian codes , more rectification of the civil society, civil laws, by punishment of criminals in political or persons.

Needless to say judiciary system and legal frame work in Island had been sort out many counter -revolutionary actions and wars of Terrorist, coup-dates, insurrections against the state since 1956?

State interest of democratic shape of Parliament was protected by legal binding of the judiciary measures and by that an enlarge and enrich by courts of judges since 1956!!

In short version and the terms of sovereignty of Judiciary order that have to have to say, Ours legal and judiciary of judges resistance to change anti-democratic and anti-establishment movers by into society by new and higher form of judiciary order to protected the sovereignty of judiciary.
And as well as Sovereignty of People base on the Democracy.
That was short history of judicial sovereignty of that been upheld by courts of law in an Island.

By that allowing foreign Judges to be here that so-called ‘judges’ will undermined the reserve liability of judicial sovereignty of
    Sri lanka.

Such a nation of Sri Lankan become non legal action of country of sovereignty ,after even by the mishaps ‘foreign Judges’ to be present in our soil.

Well, unfortunately simple matter cannot realized by UNO spoken of at this point ,that his pretty & narrow mind of unwise system of which that by misguided governance of UNO rule since 1945.!

The short term interest of foreign and Tamil terrorist will bring ‘foreign judges’ that become the overall social imbalance not only social movement ,but imbalance of duties of Judges.
That uneven anomaly required long -term to be rectified by methods of term of the deliberation of democratic consensus of the democratic society’ that action need re-energizes and re-connects if you want to the common humanity that the values of democracy.

UNO spoken is not the persons is mindfulness and compassion of modern politics of broad democracy .
In fact ‘foreign judges’ are sleeping partners of democratic society.

‘Imposed commitments’ at the convenience of incompetent UN officials give rise to unwanted and unavoidable complications for the achievement of desired results. Is it not obvious that the UN Human Rights Commission has ‘imposed a commitment’ that flouts the Constitution of Sri Lanka, a democratic country? Leave alone the idiotic FM and his crusade. But couldn’t the UN officials foresee that such ‘commitments’ can lead nowhere?

Any person can stick to his commitment if he has a character. Keeping to his word, truthfulness, accountability and kindness are some of the value traits that form the character of any person.

The political leaders in SL lack the value traits that contribute to their character.

Therefore, they dishonour their agreements, tell blatant lies and fool the masses. They played the same dirty tricks with the International Community(IC) at the UNHRC and are caught.

The judges in SL are politicised, racists, and lack wisdom and knowledge of International human rights covenants, written in English, as these judges study in less developed vernacular languages.

A court case for 10 soldiers who went on a rampage, shooting to death about 30 Tamil civilians at Kumarapuram in Trincomalee district, from house to house, about 25 years ago, is now only being heard in a court in Anuradapura district instead of courts in Trincomalee.

Surely, SL does not even have the slightest ability, to grant justice for war crimes. So, they rightly agreed in the UNHRC resolution to have judges, prosecutors and investigators from other countries.

SL MUST commit to what it has rightly agreed. Non performance will be disastrous.

There is NO need to have this court and that court.

One thing is for sure it is not foreigners or the west that undermine the sovereignity , it is Tamils and Tamil speakers that do that.

So it is quite simple , let us have a segregated country.

Tamilsur in the Northern province , Muslims in parts of Eastern province and the rest a Sinhala-Buddhist homeland with Eurasian well wishers.

All those who are in the Sinhala area go to your respective areas. We will take our Sinhala people in your areas and you do the same for your kind in our areas. Quite simple and elegant. So stop fighting and wasting energy…….
