A person who was behaving suspiciously near the Battaramulla office of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was arrested a short while ago and handed over to the Thalangama police.

The person had been loitering around the former’s President’s office for a while and had been acting suspiciously. He was arrested by the ex-President’s security division.
In the past, former President Rajapaksa had claimed that at several instances suspicious people have been loitering around his home. At the joint opposition rally held in Hyde Park in March, Rajapaksa said that a group of unidentified persons who had come in bikes had been inquiring from the neighborhood if he (Rajapaksa) was home.
It is reported that Rajapaksa has a security detail of 256 personnel.
