The Royal Cabinet

It seems the recently appointed cabinet of President Maithri‘s government is a ‘Royal’ cabinet as close to half of its members are incidentally Royalists.

Some 11 of the total 27 Cabinet Ministers are old Boys of Royal College to which includes the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe himself. The other royalists are:

Ranil at Royal big match* Mangala Samaraweera – Minister of External Affairs

* Lakhman Kiriella – Minister of Plantation Industries

* Ravi Karunanayake – Minister of Finance

* Rauf Hakeem – Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage

* Duminda Dissanayake – Minister of Irrigation

* Kabeer Hashim – Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion

* Sajith Premadasa – Minister of Housing and Samurdhi

* D.M. Swaminathan – Minister of Resettlement, Reconstruction and Hindu Affairs

* Gayantha Karunathilake – Minister of Media

* Naveen Dissanayake – Minister of Tourism

Meanwhile State minister Faizer Musthapha and two Deputy Ministers Dr Harsha de Silva and Eran Wickramaratne are also from the Royal College.

Kabir Hashim definitely went to Royal maybe in the junior period he may have been at Trinity. The most surprising thing in that list is Navin Dissanaike whom I thought all these days was a Trinitian as his father Gamini was a renowned Trinitian but I was wrong he too went to Royal

Kabir a Trinitian ( yes about 8 of his formative years) and Navin A full fledged Royalist. This may explain the character of the two guys!

Leaving aside everything else, let s discuss about Royalists and their way of life. Can this bring us forward an inch ?

It took long the opposition to wake up fron slumpber- be their inner party compulsions or others are not matters to people but they were weak… That paved easy accesses highly abusive Raja admin to move on: He the Raja was mad/hallozinated/blind folded/ as nothign could help him opening his eyes at right moments, being unable to bear his newly awarded titles and wealth (my aged father called it NETHI EKATA ATHI UNAHAMA PUTHE, it is like the monkey holds swode). Jackson Anthony the actor – the artiste are also to be blamed to have manipulated the masses bringing and feeding the nation with uknown monarchial feelings – streghtening MAHINDA moda minihas head even or overwelmed – it is like tying gold around the neck of a Katussa – MR turned to a man of UNTOUCHABLE – thought he is the one and only to rule the nation. THis feeling was fed by lanken ARTISTE by holding day long gratitue ceremonies in which hours long speeches were held only about the JAYA GAYANA to the head of state.

Besides, If real royalists were existing as the products of that school, they could have saved the nation from the lootings and plundering of Rajapaskehs goons – no nothing was successful until recently in the line of powerful opposition. In every country where leaders looted and destroyed peoples funds had not powerful opposition to react promptly. I saw this long ago, my fellows also did it. JVP and UNP were almost like paralized during the last 5 years.

“Leaving aside everything else, let s discuss about Royalists and their way of life. Can this bring us forward an inch ?”

Just another government school- pinnata running on an old label with a deterioration of quality.

Has Weerawansa made enough to send his 3 kids to Eaton at £35k per head or is he bringing them over??

Royalists are always 100% better than the odd people like Wimal weerawansa, Duminda silva, Mervin silva, Palitha Theverapperuma, Johnston, Arundika, Rajapaksas etc etc. And in future we should make sure that odd people will never ever come to Parliament.

Gentelman think as a srilankan.Pray unit and hold hands togather to build a better srilanka, most of us as gone to good school and had decent education it dont mean that we distance ourselves from each other because of the school we attended if you all gramble about Royal,Thomaian, trinitian mahindian etc etc where we going to see the so called unity in making our mother lanka better

It really does not matter which schools they went to, the bottom line is, as long as they do their duties well, to the satisfaction of the Sri Lankan people, it will not make any difference. We need upstanding officials who will bring pride to our nation, and anyone who fits that profile should be given top posts, not because of the family connection or returning a political favor.

So now we know the reason why the notorious SSP Mahesh Perera, a corrupt policeman, is about be be re-instated as director of the CID.

Mahesh Perera, is worse than Duminda De Silva. and god forbid all the women who refused this man favors if he is re-instated again. Rather than kicking these pond-scum away it seems like the new govt, is no better than the previous one.

    • 2

Why nothing is on the air YET towards Duminda De Silva – made philanthropist (for Kollonawa) of all times – CLOSE CONFIDIATE of Namal baby/his father, British medical journal BMJ commented on particular head injuryand saving the life as a medical wonder – above all- had been given impunity to be away from the country telling about Treatments – deliberately being away from holding court sessions – uttering fairy tales about memory losses- making a victimized daughter and widow of that family a laughing figure to the nation (as if stabbing and stiring the wounds further) – how many among lanken families bear the fates similar to that of Hirunika.

    • 0
      0

Hey Saint, get your facts correct. Mahesh Perera is not an SSP. He is DIG Trincomalee and he has been a DIG for more than three years. Without making baseless allegations you need to mention at least some corrupt acts of Mahesh, if you have proof. Or you must complaint to Bribery Commission with all the evidence you have, with a copy to the media.

Rt Royal Scum Bag Ravi, told the biggest fib as late as yesterday.

That is the Scum Bag found, Gota has LKR 7.5 Billion in BOC Taprobane Branch.

It turned out to be in fact, LKR 8 Billion when Gota left.

    Bank ledgers don’t lie.

The most interesting bit was Ravi asking his minders how much it was before telling the journos, And it is in the clip.

Now My Three is the Defence Minister. Thank God and Pope for that.

His Secretary of Defence has to counter sign the cheques going forward.

Most of all, this money is from the finances which are being used to build the new Army HQ.

Question one.. Has the Finance Minister deducted LKR 500 Million from the Army Funds before he transferred it to his Treasury Account?.

Question Two…Will the Army boys be happy to get their HQ facilities trimmed by LKR 500 Million?.

Question Three.. Is that LKR 500 Million, the Election Fighting Fund to defeat the SLFP, JVP, and JHU and to get a majority of UNP hacks in to Parliament?.

May be even Dr Mervyn , who calls the Scum Bag a close buddy wouldn’t be short of a quid, when the battle begins on the Holy Buddhist Turf in Kelaniya.

You can call it a fruit salad school. These Royalist ministers represent all three major communities of this country – Sinhala, Tamil and Moors, and covers all four major religion we have here – Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity (both Roman Catholics and non-RC) Doesn’t that speaks volumes.

Gnanakone, you could be the founder of Tamils for Justice. But you are not aware Swaminathan is a Tamil. He is a UNPer and former Treasure of the UNP. More so he is a grand nephew of great Tamil Statesmen, Sir Ponambalam Arunachalam and Sir Ponambalam Ramanathan. Do not show your ignorance.
What has the Governor of the Central Bank got to do with being a Member of Parliament. You do not know even that MPs are not appointed as head of Central Bank.
Some one commented three MPs/Ministers as Ranil’s relations. None of them are Royalists, but all are Thomians.

      Justica, Who are you?
Why are you hiding under Bogus Names.

This is what I wrote about Ranil’s appointments of ROYALIST.

Quote: ” Add to this the appointment of Arjuna Mahendra who has never been an MP, another Royalist and Ranil’s private friend. He is the new governor of the Central Bank appointed by Ranil. Be tuned in.

      MAHENDRAN IS ALSO ANOTHER ROYALIST.
Position of the Governor of the Central Bank is more important than most the cabinet positions, FYI, where Billions of dollars are affected via small changes.

      Timing is also very important.

Cabraal was very corrupt and close to all the Rajapakses including Namal Rajapakse and his punk friends, FYI.

Swaminathan is born and bred in Colombo. Schooled all the way at Royal and Colombo. He has no connections to Jaffna. We will see his performance in Jaffna and NP. It was a poor choice. We have seen what he has done or more likely not done in Parliament.

He is senior attorney to Sumanthiran and compare his performance with Swaminathan.

The Finance Minister who appoints or has to approve the Central Bank Governor is also a Royalist.

      Gnanakone
      Tamils For Justice
      Founder.

The appointment of Mahendran as Central Bank Governer alone shows how this government is making appointments according to merit and not based on race or religion. It reminds me of some years ago of Singapore where they had a Sri Lankan descended Tamil as the foreign Minister, appointment based purely on merit.Singapore is surely a success story

As for Swaminathan he maybe Colombo based but his intelligence and experience as a senior attorney and an MP will no doubt come into focus and you can be rest assured he will do an outstanding job on the ministerial task he has been assigned with. Swaminathan being a senior attorney to Sumanthiran as you say again speaks well for both as they are old Royaliuts, Royal has produced some brilliance in many a sphere so why not use their talents for our motherland

You are sadly mistaken. Dayan is not a Royalist, but a Thomian, although his father Mervyn de Silva, illustrious journalist, was a Royalist. Everyone knows how different those two are.

    • 2
      0

      Justica,

It does not matter. If you care to look at my response in full. I said

“Another worthy Thomian ‘ Rajiva Wijesinha and an equally worthy Royalist Dayan Jayatilleke. What about JR Jayawardene (Royalist) and SWRD Bandaranaike (Thomian).Just off the top of my head, I am sure we can all come up with other ‘worthies’ who went to these so called top schools. These two schools alone seem to have produced some of the best exponents of unbridled opportunism!”

I have included both schools of producing some of the top scoundrels and that remains true Let me add another scoundrel Lalith Athulathmudali(Royalist) who had acid thrown on someone suspected to have been his wife’s lover and was directly responsible for several of the atrocities visited upon the Tamils in East in particular during the 1980’s

BTW, we are both wrong about DJ who I now know is an old Josephian

    • 1
      0

Dayan is not a thomian, he is a josephian. Stop acting like you know everything. Most of these ‘royal’ ministers however did start schooling at S.thomas’ prep and only moved to royal in the higher grades.

Yes all have fogotton him.A decent guy from rural background who has studied at prestigious Royal College of ”Polonnaruwa”had to come forward to salvage the nation risking his own life at a time when those so called Disce out Discede boys were pushed to the corner by the MARA regime who knew nothing about rule of law.
We salute your bravery Sir Maithripala Sirisena and you stand tall above all those posh people who were mickey mouses in front of Rajapakse tyranny.Same credit should be given to Rajitha,Anura kumara ,Rev Ratana and Patali who were brave enough to stand against the regime. And ironically non of them are from the Reid avenue school(And it is my Alma Mater as well) .
I don’t think even the most vocal Ranjan Ramanayake belong to this elite club.
Who are we praising folks, in that sense.Think for a moment.

      • 0
        0

You may be right. But Ranajan is though most vocal. His arguments sometimes damage the process. He should practise patience. As is clear to him or other law makers, you cant take the law to your hand – if the currently elected bunch is to rebuild all these. If you would behave so, the nation would not make it a distinction between the current and the former. So people we need to be exemplary while walking on the line of MAITHREE- else people have to name it as ” NON-MAITHREE but YAHAPALANYA!”
As some made it very clear that MS jumped on to a fast moving train -not even thinking about what he would have to face if he lost the election. Ranajan clearly made it day before yesterday, ” if MR won the election we sitting before you audience would have been deadbodies” – latter expressed all about the gravity of brutal regime – now notherners would even permantely feel MR REGIME SHOULD BE BROUGHT BEFORE HAGUE. Anyway, stupid man had no brains to see it beyond. His collapse to this is almost similar to that of Egyptian mubarak

At least students are enrolled on merit for anantta kollaj. Royal it is mostly nepotism, contacts, class, political and bureuacratic influence. See how many Royalists are the children of politicians, school principals and education and other senior public servants and ministry officials children as against all the other other spectra of the society.

Obviously Sira didn’t bother about this Royalists List,as they are there for less than 90 days now.

Sira had to show that he is giving the Elite. the Vellalas, and the SLMC Muslims bang for their buck,

Plus Sira didn’t have a penny when he put his hand up . Right …

If he had the dosh, he would have been in the 30,000 names List, which Ven Rathne,, the guardian and the custodian of the Sinhala Buddhist inhabitant population.claims he has on file in his Aramaya.. Sorry JHU Office .

Couldn’t the Elite find better Royalists than this lot.

    I mean , a few, I wouldn’t put in charge of a 7-11 Franchise even, if I had one.

    Look at the FM,

I mean ,didn’t he dob in his Butler ” Boy ” to the Cops, for a few bottles of Johnny Walker which the ” Boy ” nicked from FM’s Duty Free Collection.

Then there is the Custodian of the Diaspora Dollars which was invested in Galleon Fund and transferred to Kirullapoe for safe keeping, until his mate Raja gets parole..

And a Dual too I guess, after Ranil gets rid of Interpol Checks and Police Reports from the new Applicants.

Wonder how many of our Sinhala Buddhists, whom Ven Rathne claims to be over 600,000 will vote for the FM if he contests from Matara.

Perhaps he might beg Ranil for a Colombo seat , together with the Galleon mate, so that they can get the Vellalas and SLMC Muslims to vote for him.

To be accurate, Royal College is a Maha Vidyalaya but the name Royal is retained for historical and sentimental reasons. A move to rename it Kannangara MV, after CWW Kannangara, was thwarted by the old boys some years ago.

Rubbish! Firstly, they are not aspersions but facts. Secondly, Royal is NOT the best school in Sri Lanka. It may be the best government school. The best school has encouraging and helpful teachers, facilities that rank with the best in the US, students who end up at the world’s best colleges. Yes, I am writing about OSC.

To all fellow Sri Lankans! Can we at least speak as fellow Sri Lankans and forget about our caste, creek, colour, religion and school as this has been the ultimate fall of Sri Lanka and the root cause for our country going backwards. When we talk about cricket Murali is highlighted as a Sri Lankan and not as a Tamil so in the same spirit let us forget the bickering and speak for every citizen of Sri Lankan and build a united Sri Lanka free of corruption and prevail law and order.

Why this exuberance over the presence of Royal College “products” in the cabinet?

It was a Royal College product who implemented the constitution of a monarch that allowed Mugabe and Kim Il Sung type rule to almost prevail in Sri Lanka.

It is also a Royal College product (Mr ‘Charisma’) that clings on to the leadership of the UNP when there are so many new generation talents waiting in the wings.

what would you the guys have been saying if the current coaltion failed to win the election ?

With all high profile abuses being revealed these days – sometimes not anyone with a healthy mind be able to see it right the way the previous regime plundered the nation funds- telling something totally different to the nation, not once but on a repeated mode ? By billions they have grabed funds as JVP, UNP clearly explained them today – why Basil left the country even before the 9th. As powerful minister of previous regime, he should be resonsible for all the mess deliberately created by his mediation today or later.

Now a days there is no quality of royalist just a name. At least the school could not produce a test cricketer for national team except famous homo sex people. Even rural schools top in advanced level examination even though royal admit the top grade 5 scholarship holders.

Irrespective of what school the individual politician attended, Sri Lanka deserves good politicians and political leaders of impeccable quality. All three schools mentioned are of highest educational quality. So far this government had shown appointments are made of political nepotism and back room deals, which are of no benefit to the country. This government is playing the same corrupt game as previous government.
