Former Chief Arms procurer for the Tamil Tigers Kumaran Pathmanathan yesterday expressed fullest confidence in President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s ability to resolve the problem of SrI Lanka’s minority Tamils.

Calling the President ‘a great leader’ the former rebel leader said the government could resolve Tamil issues without the help of the international community.
Pathmanathan said the President was a man of good calibre to solve the Tamil problem.
Hitting out hard against the TNA KP said the main Tamil party that is expected to win Saturday’s provincial poll was cheating the northern people. “You have to work with the majority community that is the only way,” the former LTTE member.
Attacking the LTTE Pathmanathan said both the TNA and the Tigers were always rejecting overtures by the Government. He urged the TNA to join the latest PSC on a final solution.
It was KP’s first press address since his capture. The briefing for the journalists who had been escorted to the north by the army last morning took place at 12 noon at the Sencholai orphanage now run by KP.

While Justice Wigneswaran is being condemned, insulted and mauled for calling the dead big tiger VP- the LTTE bigwig, a hero, Mahinda Rajapakse and his supporters are finding much cheer and solace, in being called ‘ Great Leader’ by living ex-tigers like KP!
Politics spares no one from the the dirt that has become an integral part of it. Politics as practiced in this day age, especially in countries like of ours, is a scourge.
I hope Justice Wigneswaran has learned a valuable lesson. It is better not to say anything that need not be said, when not called for. What is called for in the north is a vision for the future and an action plan that would make it a reality. The vision and the action plan, if I understand what the ordinary Tamils desire, should not be in any way be related to the Tiger vision and action plan nor what the closest tigers within the TNA would push for.
The campaigning for the NPC is over. Once the council is elected with very likely Justice Wigneswaran as CM, he has much to do, free of campaign politics.
Sobriety in words and action directed towards improving the daily lives of the war-battered sections of the people, are the needs of the hour. These are not going to be easy tasks given the nature of the 13 th amendment and the attitude of the government. We need a real life Gandhi- a man of spiritual strength and great stature to lead us and win the hearts and minds of the Sinhala majority.

It was really heart warming to see the ex LTTE fighters in their wedding dresses and suits at the mass celebration in Killinochi, the old heart land of the LTTE.
What a change from hiding in bunkers in the bush and singing hosannas to Vellala Wiggy’s current her Maha Veera Prabakaran.
This is just in four years.
Next three decades will certanly be pleasently different to the last three decades bestowed on them by Mr Prabakaran and his Diaspora mates.
However if Vellala Wiggy and his handler Sambandan implement their action plan as stated in their Manifesto.the future could turn into a “Back to the Future”.for these people.
That is why KP and the other LTTE leaders in custody, whom Sambandan wouldn’t want released , ( ref rest of KP’s interview) have a great responsibility to protect these young couple and their offsprings against people like the current TNA lot who live in Colombo and work for the Diaspora.
