TRC Hopes Packer Would Look Beyond The Profit Motive After Viewing ‘No Fire Zone’

The Tamil Refugee Council (TRC) while commending the pledge made by Crown Resorts Proprietor James Packer to view the documentary on Sri Lanka’s killing fields – the ‘No Fire Zone‘, called upon him to look beyond the profit motive and empathize for the Tamils.

TRC Spokesman Trevor Grant issuing a statement had said, “During the meeting where Packer had promised to watch the documentary, he had said his heart bleeds for the people caught in the conflict. . . When he sees it, he cannot fail but allow his heart to bleed for the 70,000 Tamils murdered by the Rajapaksa regime.”

Grant has pointed out the British Prime Minister David Cameron who viewed the Emmy-nominated documentary had described it as one of the ‘most chilling documentaries’ he has watched and states that it brings home the brutal end to the civil war and the immense suffering of the thousands of innocent Tamils.

“We urge him to reconsider; hopefully he can see beyond the profit motive and allow his heart to bleed for the Tamils,” Grant has stated furthermore.

Packer had agreed to watch the documentary No Fire Zone – a documentary that focuses on the mass slaughter of thousands of innocent Tamil civilians during the final months of the war in Sri Lanka – during the annual general meeting of Crown Resorts in Perth this week after he was questioned about the planned 450 million USD casino joint venture in Colombo. A local refugee activist Victoria Martin-Iverson had presented him with a copy of the documentary.

During the meeting he had expressed his sympathy for innocent civilians in such circumstances as were the Tamils in Sri Lanka during the final phases of the conflict in 2009.

Let’s expose the cunning, lies and deception of Sri Lanka in its miss-treatment of Tamils since independence in 1948:

We must expose all the relevant facts of anti-Tamil pogroms, discrimination, land miss-appropriations, rapes, genocide and all other atrocities committed by the Sri Lankan regimes on the Tamil nation in the island of Sri Lanka.

The world is beginning to understand Tamils’ fight for freedom from Sinhala Buddhist oppressive regimes.

NFZ is nominated for Emmy award – trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml3KprXzufg&feature=youtu.be

“The Emmy nominated feature documentary No Fire Zone tells the story of the final terrible months of the 26-year long Sri Lankan civil war. Directed by BAFTA and Grierson nominee Callum Macrae the film uses the testimony of the survivors – and some of the most dramatic and disturbing video evidence ever seen to tell the story of one of the darkest events of modern times. This powerful film – described as “one of the most chilling documentaries I have watched” by British Prime Minister David Cameron, contains direct evidence of war crimes, summary execution, torture and sexual violence which was recorded by both the victims and perpetrators on mobile phones and small cameras during the final 138 days of hell which form the central narrative of the film. One UN report estimated that as many as 40,000 Tamil civilians died in just a few weeks. A more recent UN report suggested the death toll may have reached 70,000 or even more. Described by the producers as both a film of record and a call to action, No Fire Zone is already creating political waves around the world and has been credited with playing a key role in convincing the United Nations to launch an international inquiry into the events it describes: An inquiry scheduled to report back the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva in March 2015”

Packer is the little brother of Blake. But born much latter than elder brother Blake. Blake set up the USA’s new path and withdrew from the scene as the redemption seeking for his past sins. Packer will be the one pulling Australia out of this mess.

With some tricky ways, the entire Australian foreign policy was hijacked by refugee smuggling Lankan Princes. Foolishly, Australian politicians started to pay bribe to Royal family, thinking they can do what China is doing. After bribing the Royal Family Members up to their noses and when they are high in the dope, Chinese Army would hack the defense department computers to forcefully take over Noraichcholai electricity plant. China is a communist country. It accounts the income and the money in different way than a democratic country like Australia would do. In Australia, even the Chinese government like bribing has to done by a private citizen. So, it is the Australian government introduced the private business man Packer to Lanka to the job of bribing Royal Government. As a matter of easily understandable, the money was not coming forth form Packer, unlike it was freely flowing from Chinese Government like the sexy Yellow River(Huang He). So Royal Government appointed Champika and Wimal, the two night club bouncers and hooligan packers to forcefully pack the Packer’s bags and push him out of Lanka back to Australia. Soon Packer will be labelled as another “white tiger”. Now, whether Packer watches the “Killing Fields” or not, he is not coming back to Lanka. Period.

I think James already watched “Lies Agreed Upon” documentary, so that he knows the truth, he knows all about those barbaric tamil terrorists. Unlike Cameron, he don’t need the help of tamil terrorists for his survival.

Yea right! fat man from down-under who make his millions by running casinos and profiteering from gambling addicts misery going to be sympathetic to humane suffering. This will be his standard PR line “Casino will be good thing for Sri Lankan economy because it will bring millions of gambling addicts thus providing huge number of jobs to Sri Lankans including Tamil, and it will improve living standard of all Tamils.” Sri Lankan RB Governor and Col. Karuna Amman the Sri Lanka’s most popular Tamil humanitarian will be standing next to Packer during the announcement,to support Packer who is with very deep pockets stuffed with unlimited supply of Aussie $$$$$.

The gambling empire that James Packer inherited from his father Kerry has brought terrible suffering in Australia. The empire makes a lot of money because most of the gamblers (punters) lose their money. This results on numerous suicides, depression, family breakdowns, alcohol abuse etc.

In addition to gambling Kerry Packer was a media tycoon and used his TV stations, magazines and newspapers to promote gambling. Then they pay lip service to “doing something” about “problem gambling” setting up medical lobbies to argue that “problem gambling” is an “illness” best treated with expensive antidepressant and anti-anxiety drugs. Great for the drug companies, which no doubt the Packers have shares in.

Sri Lanka will be better off without James Packer’s investments.

Packer is not as gullible as Trevor Grant thinks he is. First, it is a ficticious doc with doctored photography. The men who did the killing of civilians are in fact Tamil terrorists. Tamils have earned the reputation of criminals with credit card fraud, deception, thuggery, organised human trafficking, terrorism beyond Sri Lanka to make themselves unwanted in Canada, Australia, UK, NZ. Packer knows all that! A couteous gesture to a washed out B grade cricketer and a less than mediocre jouno was given a hearing, but nothing will come out of this side show. Trevor Grunt will do better to provide rehab services to criminal elements within the diaspora in Aus to enable them to live useful lives.
