Two After-Paris Lessons

Permit me to follow my ‘West Blind to Root Causes of Terrorism’ on 6 December with two comments. Many have contacted me to say the analysis was spot-on but some sharp minds said that while most of it came across ok, two points need to be highlighted. Viz: (a) Much ‘jihadisation’ (bourgeois media and leaders call it “radicalisation”) takes place without contact or conversion by recruiters. (b) The San Bernadino attack was probably a misfiring which has security implications.

What (a) means is that the jihadist message can spread on its own; some people come to the ‘cause’ without being personally canvassed and recruited. As I said on 6 December the big recruiter to jihadism is despair, frustration and downtrodden state of people across the Middle East, especially Palestine. Minus this, those ideologically radicalised by faith alone will shrink. Jihadisation of socially marginalised Western youth is a nexus between their own exclusion (no jobs, living in the dregs) with despair in the Middle East. Even if Daesh is militarily defeated, territory taken back and the Caliphate destroyed, conflict will not go away till socio-political causes are addressed. Alienated people become more, not less radical. Surveillance, control and military offensives, sans solution of root causes will get nowhere. In other words, the current strategy will fail.

pakistan-child-jihadiWhat (b) means is that sleeper cells may fire without instructions from ‘headquarters’. My guess is that Western security agencies think a cell which was told to be dormant, fired-off without instructions. Maybe something happened at that Christmas party enraging one of the jihadists. The couple took offence and poured out their rage. The significance is that if (since) there must be more sleeper cells elsewhere – West, India and Pakistan – and since they may include type-(a) self-energised persons, more ‘misfiring’ can be expected from time to time.

Kumar, I invite you to come here and see for yourself. Just pay for the ticket and I will look after you for 2 weeks as an honored guest.

At least in the Middle Eastern country where I live, there is very little poverty. Palestinians are just paid lip service and most hate them anyway. Israel and US are also hated but they are just words. You will move with the intelligentsia and find out that radicalization here at least is based on the Shia’ – Sunni divide continuously inflamed by the religious leadership of each sect.

If you go to any church you come out as a better person, with less hatred and more love in your heart.

If you go to any Buddhist temple you come out as a better person, with less hatred and more Metta in in your heart unless it is Abhayaramaya, of course.

You go to any Mosque and you come out more radicalized and more hatred in your heart, not for non-Muslims but for the other sect.

        Kumar David-

There are solutions to the problem caused by Muslims in the west and Africa.
Don’t forget Saudi Oil is empty in 7 years – they cant win over technology and even Libya has seen that it cannot pump enough without western technology.

like the Western Banks The companies like Exxonmobile etc are to big to fail

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States”.
The outspoken billionaire’s campaign released a statement on Monday, saying the proposal was in response to the level of hatred toward Americans among “large segments of the Muslim population”.

Pope: The earth our home is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth.

A Senegalese Muslim leader has called for a “Green Jihad” against pollution, urging his country’s parliament as well as the entire Muslim community to engage in what he regards a clear Islamic duty to protect the environment

          Edwin Rodrigo,

Please Could you first tell me what you think of the Roman Catholic Church Dubai??
Curious- What are its drawbacks and advantages??

Buddhist Temple (who runs this as not been there)

Whose e-mail are you asking for??

Sena, I was inviting Kumar David to visit the ME country I am working in. He accepted and asked me to write to the Editor, CT. Please see the 1st comment above of mine.

I suppose the email address is colombotelegraph@gmail.com

Sorry, I do not have any idea about the things you have asked about, because I do not live in Dubai. In some of the countries here, there are Buddhist temples run by lay people. Some of them soon become business enterprises shaving off the hard earned money of the housemaids.

They say all kinds of illegal activities are also going on in these places.

Thanks, I wasn’t even thinking of joining because I am an old timer to ME and have traveled on own to most of those countries from 1975 onward.
I have been to the Dubai church way back in 89 and it looked wonderful with a spacious quadrangle- Italians have their way in design etc.
Nothing illegal goes on at the church- its pristine.
At Qatar the Buddhist temple is in the SL embassy.

              Thanks Edwin.

G20 countries including France, ISrael, turkey, Arab Countries are finaniciers of ISIS. Paris Attack is a set up Just like 9/11

Other wise, what stupid Terrorist leaves the PAssport behind. All set up. KUMAR DAVID IS LIEING HERE.

As predicted and previously reported, terrorists who took part in an unprecedented attack in the center of Paris killing over a 100 and injuring hundreds more, were well-known to French security agencies before the attack took place.

The UK Daily Mail reported in its article, “Hunt for the Isis killers: One terrorist identified as ‘young Frenchman known to authorities’ – another two found with Syrian and Egyptian passports,” that:

One of the terrorists involved in last night’s attacks in Paris has been officially identified as a Parisian, according to local media reports.

The man, who was killed at the Bataclan, was identified using his fingerprints and was from the southern Parisian neighbourhood of Courcouronnes.

French reports say that the man, who was around 30 years old, was already known to French anti-terrorist authorities prior to last night’s attacks. (emphasis added)

Similarly in January 2015 in the wake of the “Charlie Hebo attack” which left 12 dead, it was revealed that French security agencies tracked the perpetrators for nearly a decade beforehand, having arrested at least one terrorist a total of two times, incarcerating him at least once, tracked two of them overseas where they had trained with known terrorist organizations and possibly fought alongside them in Syria, before tracking them back to French territory.Astoundingly, French security agencies never moved in on the terrorists, claiming that after a decade of tracking them, they had finally decided to close their case for precisely the amount of time needed for them to plan and execute their grand finale.

More Wars and More Surveillance Can’t Help

With a similar scenario now emerging, particularly in the wake of the “Charlie Hebo attack,” where French security agencies knew about extremists but failed to stop them before carrying out yet another high-profile attack, even with enhanced surveillance powers granted to them by recent legislation, it appears that no amount of intrusive surveillance or foreign wars will stem a terrorist problem the French government itself seems intent on doing nothing to stop. The problem is not France’s immigration laws. Dangerous people are in France, but they are being tracked by French security agencies. The problem is not Syria. Terrorists have left to fight there, acquired deadly skills and affiliations before returning to France, but have likewise been tracked by French security agencies. Instead, the problem is that French security agencies are doing nothing about these dangerous individuals knowingly living, working, and apparently plotting in the midst of French society. In the coming hours and days, the French government and its various co-conspirators in their proxy war against Syria will propose a plan of action they claim will stem the terrorist threat France and the rest of Europe faces. But the reality is, the problem is not something the French government can solve, because the problem is clearly the French government itself.

ISIS is Behind the Paris Attacks, But Who is Behind ISIS?

With the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) emerging as being behind the attack, the question that remains is, who is behind ISIS itself? While the West has attempted to maintain the terrorist organization possesses almost mythological abilities, capable of sustaining combat operations against Syria, Iraq, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, support from Iran, and now the Russian military – all while carrying out large-scale, high-profile terrorist attacks across the globe – it is clear that ISIS is the recipient of immense multinational state-sponsorship.

The rise of ISIS was revealed as early as 2007 in interviews conducted by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh in his 9-page report “The Redirection.” The interviews revealed a plan to destabilize and overthrow the government of Syria through the use of sectarian extremists – more specifically, Al Qaeda – with arms and funds laundered through America’s oldest and stanchest regional ally, Saudi Arabia.

A more recent Department of Intelligence Agency (DIA) report drafted in 2012 (.pdf) admitted:

If the situation unravels there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality in eastern Syria (Hasaka and Der Zor), and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran).

The DIA report enumerates precisely who these “supporting powers” are:

The West, Gulf countries, and Turkey support the opposition; while Russia, China, and Iran support the regime.

And to this day, by simply looking at any number of maps detailing territory held by various factions amid the Syrian conflict, it is clear that ISIS is not a “state” of any kind, but an ongoing invasion emanating from NATO-member Turkey’s territory, with its primary supply corridor crossing the Turkish-Syrian borderbetween the Syrian town of Ad Dana and the western bank of the Euphrates River, a supply corridor now increasingly shrinking.

The reality is that France knew the “Charlie Hebo” attackers, they knew beforehand those involved in the most recent Paris attack, and they likely know of more waiting for their own opportunity to strike. With this knowledge, they stood by and did nothing. What’s more, it appears that instead of keeping France safe, the French government has chosen to use this knowledge as a weapon in and of itself against the perception of its own people, to advance its geopolitical agenda abroad.

It does appear to me that Prof. Kumar David is ignoring a vital aspect of the conflicts around us. Any analysis that excludes ‘the mind’ is only an academic exercise. It would have no practical significance or value.

I cannot help reiterating the theme of my response to the original piece.

I have stated bluntly that the Israeli Palestinian conflict will never be resolved; it can never be.

I cannot be any more emphatic.

Armchair contributions do not help to reduce tension around us. Is there a single dispute that has been resolved in the last 60 years. If not why?

Pushing the grievances to simmer from beneath is not the solution.

    Forgive me for repeating.

There are two parallel worlds. One, the world to which you and I belong, The other the avaricious world. The world of extreme greed. We share the planet with them.

Those who belong to the other world are monsters; the known devils.

In this beastly set up right and wrong is a matter of might; is a matter of destiny.

      “”resolved; it can never be.”

      “‘the mind’”

Here we never say never……the inventors of aircraft carrier have a great history and is still an economic power unlike Palestine
Have you heard a sound from them after WW2?? NO.

Do you still think from the mind?? you are sitting on it.

” The world of extreme greed. We share the planet with them.”

The machine that makes the money does not like to give it to your kind on people for free because like the prodigal son you would kill yourself- ask any mega lottery winner

Ask Mark of facebook- he gave away $1 billion to create primary school to well meaning folk at San Francisco – its squandered so he&wife started own LLC charity for $45 billion.

all they want is to kill the Shia, The Ahemedia and sufis to start with , and work on to others.

The are in Saudi Arabia, the ISIS state that made it.

I think pre-war Europe would have been like this.

Anti-Semitism flourishing and conservative Christianity openly vilifying the Jews. Jews were the Christian equal of the Islamic “Infidel”.

What turned the Christians against the Jews were the new Testament. In particular verses such as this.

you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets…You snakes, you brood of vipers! How can you escape being sentenced to hell?
    — Matthew 23:31-33

Rewinding the clock I doubt the Christians would have listened to sane advise then. Christians would have considered whats written in Bible immutable and written in rock. The WWII experience was necessary for Christians to radically change course.

Similarly, the Moslems also would not have an incentive for a paradigm shift unless they themselves taste hell too.

Although in the long term its all futile anyway. All Abrahamic faiths will eventually have to radically wash down the original “God’s word” such that it bears little resemblance.

Far worse, the idea of God has little relevance in an increasingly educated world. So what we are witnessing is the last days of non-agnostic faiths of this era.

Europe has had many wars, even before they learnt to make wine at Leuven.

For Christians Jew Hatred started early on.

      “— Matthew 23:31-33”

For Wahhabis, Non-Wahhabi, Shia, Sifu and Ahamedia hatred started 1,200 years later with the Devil Following Wahab, the Father of Satanic Wahhabism.

“Similarly, the Moslems also would not have an incentive for a paradigm shift unless they themselves taste hell too.”

So, for the Muslims, what they need to do is take care of Wahhabism, the Isis that Made it,wit the help of the West.

Radicalising for what for god’s sake. Sheer hated ness and jealousy drives them to this sinfull eternity for non Muslim thinking , but for them, to kill a non Muslim will take them to lah lah land where they can dance and sing with 7 virgins. Is that worth their cause? All its brain washings will only lead one to hell of fires.

The sad outcome of each and every atrocity is the cumulative effect it is having on the relations between Muslims and others in the ‘west’ ie Europe, North America, Australia, and elsewhere. Each atrocity adds another tranche of those willing to ostracise ALL Muslims living, mostly peacefully, amongst them. Most Muslims emigrated to these countries to live a life free from the suffocating restrictions in their home countries. It would be anathema for them to turn and show ingratitude for that opportunity.

The forces of goodwill and fairness are fighting a rearguard battle, but witness the support that the odious Donald Trump has garnered with his latest suggestions. The future is bleak, for now, but good Muslims must not be held hostage to the evil acts of those who would divide us all.

      “the odious Donald Trump “

I have listened to this man from October who is challenging the american status quo (he is not your Vasu Deva type)

This was Donald Trump: Without elaborating, it said the ban would last “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on”.

Aren’t you and country in spin of American `status quo` you got rid of mahinda to bring in MS both play to the tune of american billionaire status quo`.

How do commoners like Cheney and Clinton’s become billionaires with nothing?? If Hillary wins she would be cuddling the Arabs and increasing her wealth to continue her family dynasty and she will continue with SL ‘s present policy. 526 billionaires owning 3.3T but don’t want to pay China 1.2T and is prepared to go to war. Xi and he would get along very well not Modi.

CNN 15 videos in Oct :Trump was invited BSF to the border with Mexico where the drugs and human smuggling. We are asked to turn a blind eye by every Administration. So trump said I will build a wall through and trough and get the Mexican government to pay ((corrupt mexican admin is part of it) I short Mexico you live your life we live ours- if we need then you will follow the official que)
      same goes with muslims worldwide.
Trump is for brighter economy and the creator of `the apprenticeship`
Sir Sugar copied him (if you wan’t to call names call Sir Sugar the nasty man)

Even Cameron feels threatened because `status quo` has been playing the dirty war games and he is in orbit.

We need Trump for a brighter economy`- there are many muslims and mexicons working for him and the are smiling people. The media lobbyist are shivering in their socks because there will be exposure. Jeb Bush & Hillary are already spending billions of unearned monies on campaign while Trump is spending his but just nothing because common people fear of going to cash point and being knifed are gathering to hear him.

By the way muslims must stop their polygamy and stop producing like maggots be social not in the way ` grass root politican- social`
the social worker is the `bane of our lives` the impulsive crooks.

What we have to worry about is Terrorists who are being released, not ISIS.

Srilanka is a good friend of the Middle East .

It was at least, I should say , until Jan 2015, because we were not aligned with ISIS hunters.
    .
We had a few hiccups because of the Norwegian Trained and Financed BBS.

It was part of the overall plan to give us Singapore manufactured Yahapalanaya which was hatched in London..

Now among the santhosams and divvies to the overseas Yahapalana partners, the release of hard core Terrorists is the main worry.

Is this part of the next phase to consolidate Yahapalanaya?.

Is there a plan to assassinate the ex President and his brother?.

Two of the Terrorists who are to be released soon are the agents who looked after assassinations and suicide bombings in Colombo on behalf of Pottu Ammman.

And they know how to go about their business.

Ex Presidents security has been reduced.

Good Army soldiers who are loyal to the Nation are being pushed out.

12.000 fully trained LTTE cadres are now under the Vellala CM in the North.

Batalanda Ranil whom I thought will be the bad guy is turning out to be the good guy.

Peace loving people are impressed with what he said the other day in Parliament about the ex President.

It makes me wonder who are the Yahapalana heavies who want to eliminate the ex President and his brother Rajapaksa?.

Perhaps Dr Kumar can enlighten us on dangers closer home, instead of picking on Muslim people overseas who are having enough hassles even without Kumars stirring the pot.

Root cause of Jihadism is nothing to do with the western nation but those who expect too much from the west such as jihadists I quote ” the west have their own law and order the religion and the customs. When you’re in Rome you act like the Romans because you chose to live among the Romans. No one forced anyone to leave their land and their religions unless due to war or persecution. But when you leave your land and live in a foreign land learn to adapt and live. One cannot expect to follow and break the law of the host country.
This is the root cause. Then bring in these human rights this and human rights of that is stretching too far.”

This caused all the conflicts the mistrusts ,jealousy which lead to present day terrorism. This had taken a twist as a worldwide problem.
How do we tackle this problem?? The human rights organisations should take some of the blame , why the freedom of breaking the law in a host country and let the law breaker to go free in the name of Human rights has made way for this mentality and pure hatredness towards the west.
When you’re in Rome behave like the Romans.
So the whahabies and the Jihadists has to learn to live and learn like others ways of lives as well.
Not self destruction and the destruction of the world .
They are to be blamed too note only the West.
