This is very important step that should have been made already few days ago. Anyways, finally he got arrested.

Hey guys, be happy, days we ve been passing are no means comparable to those royal days of Mr Megalomaniac extremist thoughts led Mahinda Jarapakshe era.

None of the kind of skin heads wearing lanken sanga costumes are well aware of BUDDHAS real buddhist treachings. Alone the manner their filthy lips allowed the terms that were beyond derogatory.
UNHRC and other forums do focus on the issues more than had been in the past.

Now we need Wadakaya of all these extremists movements – none other than Gotabaya Rajapakshe and all other hidden groups to be arrested.

If Sangaya of this nature would think, that they vebeen doing a great work to home country, that SHOULD be made clear to them, they could do it by promoting NON-VIOLENCE but being obeyed to country#s rules Basta

      Samuel Jayaweera

The only solution is that these saffron clad thugs should be deported back to their ancestral homeland in Tamil Nadu along with their fellow converts Ben Hurling, SSL, Wimal, Dayan, Nalin, John, Champika, Champa the practitioner of oldest profession, Shenali, Jimsofty, somaas ji, ………………………………..

Germany will keep Samuel OR Native Veddas or the like for ever since they know that how BUDDHISTS they have been . As far as I know him, Samuel is EU candidate, so not just Germany but several other countries have to join together if he is to be sent back ot the HELL rotten and left by Rajaakshes.

You the like can lick the balls of Rajapakshes as nobody else can do the job for them and make every effort to get them back to the field so that we can rebuild the country to form an another ZIMBAWEE… ready ?

Your brain should have been taken away by the Arabs since you said you have been their slave for the last 20 years.

We only respect human beings that treat humanly afterthat only we consider the religion, Mr Rodirigo. Please get some sense to realize it, that can help you guys to be role models to your young generations.

So, Native Vedda is in Germany, no wonder why Germany is facing Muslim extremism. Where ever he goes he’s menace.

              Punchiburampi ,

Puncho , where on earth are you living ? Muslim extremism
is now on everybody’s plate , and we are talking today of a
new side dish which on the menu is scribbled as “NON
VIOLENCE ” but served unbearably unskinned and
unboned violent ! Islam does have a history of wars and
so is Christianity but Buddhism ? And in Srilanka ?
What do you want from them ? From your monks ? You
must choose between DESTRUCTION and NIRVANA !
Just about a week ago monks were on the road BEGGING
in public fully abusing the whole concept of going house
to house for food . At least Myanmar has some inhumane
and unlawful cause to explain . What have you got against
Srilankan Muslims and Myanmar refugees who are just
in a negligent number ? A big question today for right
minded Srilankan Budhists should be to decide what they
want with YELLOW ROBED THUGS ! Not Muslims or Tamils ,
Buddhists must decide it whether they wanted these
monks in Temples or on the streets with robes raised to
the knees in the company of thugs !

Long time no see Edwin Appuo, where had you been. Were you not given access to irritate us further ?
CT, please consider this guy, so long his pen would keep under control, he is fine I guess.
He simply does not know what to add from his ends, that should have lot to do with his bring up.
Let give him a chance please. ! We the buddhists should be able to forgive :)

Thank you guys for not getting mad at me for my comments. But you disappoint me too because the whole idea is to annoy you guys and it seems that it has not worked to the extent expected this time

Actually, I was in SL for a 2 month long well earned vacation. Why 2 months? Because I was trying to grow my brain cells which have withered as Punchiburampi has described. There is no place like SL to get your brains back. Just look at the knowalls running around in those luxurious vehicles, which you do not get in rich ME even.

I could not visit the Matugama area temple due to the weather and also the priest was busy with other things. (Need I say what he was busy with? Aha! Aha!)

You just call them as priests but we dont know if they are buddhist priests or others ?

So enlighten us please with the knowledge you gathered during your 2 -M vacation down there ? I am little envious when thinkg about you or other having that extended vacations. Over the last 10 years all along, I have never had the change to stay back in home country longer than 21 days. While vacationing, I was connected to my workloads, was not at all easy to me.
Then what bothers me down there is, people have no idea about anything but the attitude to follow the other. More of them have today been followers than self-learners.
I think Media is to be blamed to have DONE not much in terms of the areas of feeding them with facts and figures of today s socio, political issues. Each time back in home country, I make my kind of efforts to talk to tuk tuk fahrer to uni dons and collect some info by my own. Regardless of their edcuational backgrounds, most down there are NOT thirsty of info, better said to question and find out by ownself, why things let occure that way etc. While living on the west, we are made to think that way, if we would not do so, you re lost. I ve been getting on with some patients that have heart problems of high grades. Most of them are highly knowledgeble even if some of them have not completed their schooling during the war times. It is the media that keep them feed with the updates.

Bunjappu, “You just call them as priests but we don’t know if they are buddhist priests or others “?

Yes, of course I mean a Buddhist priest. To be more specific, the one who gives me a lunch complete with ‘කැරන් කොකු මාලුව’ every time I visit his temple. Ask Kumar David and Samuel Jayaweera. (Ref: Edwin’s Adventures in Strange Lands with Exotic food in past CT).

Re what the putujjana feels about the Govt, yes I agree that the 3 wheel Mallis are a good source. But if you want the rural stuff, go to temples and call the local Putujjana and ask them, like Kumar David did with me.

Don’t be more envious when I say that at 65 hardly any tasks are given to me by my employer, though my salary is 5 figure in US$. This means that I work during my vacation and take a vacation when I work. This is all due to good my Karma.

It is so boring here and I spend my time just browsing and punching my smart phone. (As our President says මීටිමට ආපු ඇමතිල වගේ පෝන් එකට ඇන ඇන ඉන්නව)

I think we need to warn those poor people not to eat the kind of Mallum any more. Nelum ala was one of lanken FAVOURITE vegi curries in the country. But I happened to read lot more about the heavy metal contaminations in lanken food chain. Not know the bits well, they let those heavy metals to enter their bodies and have their kidney damage easily. Not their natha god or karma but having proper knowledge people get caught by the kind of health problems in the country today.

This is very right … මීටිමට ආපු ඇමතිල වගේ පෝන් එකට ඇන ඇන ඉන්නව) they have been abusing to their elec gadgets. In Eruope, there are zones where MOBILE phone uses are no longer permitted

Lankens are not that busier as in ERUOPE but to show off life styles have been above the culture, and being followers, they pass and impression of being additcted to those gadjets.

Funny srilanka. If question about the updates of some crucials issues, none of the responsible could give me proper answers mostly, but to show off.. that has been the stupid nature of lankens.

I have the feeling your comments to late IH – one of the controversial writers to CT but died a couple of month ago, made him stronger Edwin appuo.
In the mean time, I was made believe Edwin too should have gone. But luckily you are there. we never know we leave this world. That is the feeling I move forward with my life in Switzerland. Not seeing that lankens march well to the progress. I get hurt easily.
Welcome back to CT Edwin !

Simon, rest assured that I am not going to kick the bucket any time soon. After all my little adventures in to unknown territory, had suspicions about having HIV or some other stupid STD. So got a full blood test including the a.m. and cholesterol et al. all perfect and the a.m. NEGATIVE! Nearly had a heart attack though because bill was Rs 11,000/-

So if I were you, I would not bet on my not being around. You say “we never know when we leave this world”. That may apply to you. But not to me. I am sure I will be reading in CT about all you guys and gals (including the Wathies) kicking your buckets before I kick my bucket.
                Appreciate the Welcome.

                  Edwin,

                  are u joking ?
How come you to need to go for HIV test ?

I thought you got married to a family Mathugama and having grown up children down there to whom you pay annual visits ?
What kind of symptoms you had to feel like it was a heart attack ? I have been dealing with heart patients for few of our research projects. Why I just added sounding negative was – few writers that added CT articles left us lately. Rajendran was young, perhaps in your age. IH was an early neunagenarian. Anyways the latter sounded very young by his articles the way he expressed his thoughts and minds. I really respected him even if his message was sometimes beyond all bearing. Rajendaran as a commenter was well balanced. We miss both of them today.
We wish you all best ER, you sound to be PUNCHI kolla by your thoughts.
That may be right if you are after HIV sick pros in that part of the world. Man never give a chance to AIDs.

I thought he gave it away when he said that Rs.11,000/= nearly gave him a heart attack. That is less than $100.00. So you can imagine the cheap joints he might have visited.

You know Silvestra, my housekeeper. Knowing that I am alone here, she negotiated with one of her young friends to live with me. Silvestra, has gone back to Philippines but her friend is here living with me, looking after me, caring for me and meeting my urgent needs. Here almost everyone, whose family is not with him, has a girlfriend. That is the norm and people don’t care about others doing it. There are enormous advantages in having a young girl as your partner. Your health, happiness index improve. Most of all you feel young again.

The tests for HIV and STD are something that she wanted before we entered our new lives.

OMG. you are even worst than I have ever guessed at.

How can you be like that while you have been married to a good wife and own a family of young grown up lovely kids ?
I think I would never behave so. Once married is married. I travel a lot around the globe for my job related assigments. I can have them if I would do. I think I am the real buddhist here when looking at your life styles guys :) My mother raised me to be a good husband to future wife. So am I. We are both highly educated personalities in research and development streams.
Sex is not everything that a man shoudl focus on. This has been the addicted cutlure down there in SL too today. I know guys with grown up highly educated daughters and sons in those families nevertheless hold their mistresses at every corners. In the same time, the kind of guys even go and observe sil on full moon day. I am born into the religion as nearly 15million of lankens in the country, but I have not had the chance to spend a full day on a temple premises showing others that I have been observing sil.
I am not into the kind of hypocrites that have always been following the other.

Those poor women seek their jobs int hat part of the globe not having the basics in those countries. Here our women too belong to that catergory even if politicians have not noticed it yet.
We are no second to Philiphines or the like minded nations in that catgegory. If you woudl go to switzerland, lanken young men have been imported by rich swiss for their vulgar activities.
All in all, we the folks are no that decents as we are supposed to brand.

Do some physical and mental exercises if you really want to help your brain cells. Else, they will remain withered as they have been sofar.

Really, I thought SRILANKA is the hell if you want to regenerate your energies. I myself become very allergic not when getto see, when people stay SO lethargic, indifferent and being that pathetic.
Govt has to do everything for them, but what are their contributions in general except the taxes. They keep on complaining only.

I can digest just 10 days each time back in home country. I get so allergic not being able to open my thoughts freely while going to be there each time.

appubaba you said truly that humans are not created to worship another human however mighty may be in status. All humans should worship only the Creator Almighty, as other than the Almighty, Who Created all creations to worship Him Only whether one likes or not. If humans do not pay gratitude to the Creator Almighty, Who Will judge them according to their deeds. If they are proud and haugty not to bow down to the Almighty Creator, they will have to face the consequences. As we firmly believe in the One and Only Almighty Lord and only bow down to him five times daily, as we have been ordered to do so. Almighty Lord revealed in Quran:
” Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah? While all creatures in the heavens and on earth have willing or unwilling bowed to His Will (accepted Islam) and to Him shall they all be brought back. (3: 84) .

Noor Sallie, you say, “As we firmly believe in the One and Only Almighty Lord and only bow down to him five times daily, as we have been ordered to do so. Almighty Lord revealed in Quran….”

In Tevijja Sutta, Buddha says, “According to their own sayings, none of the Brahmins, or their teachers, or their pupils, even back to the 7th generation of a teacher’s teacher, has ever seen Brahma (God) face to face. Even the Rishis (Great Saints) of old … did not pretend to know or to have seen where, whence or whither Brahma is. So what those Brahmins (believers of Brahma), who are well versed in the Vedas really tell us is, “What we know not, what we have not seen, we know the way to a state of union with”. Buddha asks, is that not foolish talk?. (Translated by Prof Rhys Davids, Founder of The Pali Society)

In the rest of the discourse Buddha, using perfect logic, simply goes on to demolish brick by brick, the ridiculous concept of an Almighty Creator God whom no one has seen or heard. While Buddhism encourages criticism, certain religions are not offering such freedom of belief or thought to their followers or even to non-followers. According to those, you can go to heaven by killing ‘infidels’ who do not have exactly the same religious ideas as you.

              Are you one of them?

                Edwin,
“While Buddhism encourages criticism, certain religions are not offering such freedom of belief or thought “
Is this actually true in practice? There are many commentators saying it is “wrong ” to criticize the Sangha.
I believe ALL religions likewise have good basic principles which are rarely practiced.

There is a huge difference in criticizing a religion or condemning it and criticizing and condemning crooks and bigots that use religion for personal gain and destroy others.

Why cant people understand that these fools are bringing harm to the religion and insulting the whole country.

Burt, you say, “There is a huge difference in criticizing a religion or condemning it and criticizing and condemning crooks and bigots that use religion for personal gain and destroy others”.

I agree that criticism is OK. In fact it is a must in certain cases. If your objective is to improve things, then strong criticism is the best. But insults are not. They are counterproductive. There is also the chance that someone is purposely trying to provoke you to use insults. If you fall for that you would be playing it in to his hands.

                • 0
                  0

old codger, in my opinion it is OK to criticize the Sangha if you honestly feel that it is justified. But to insult Sangha is different. There is a difference between insults and criticism. A religion, philosophy or even a person should point out that something is wrong if he honestly feels it is really the case. But he should not become the judge, jury and the executioner and try to punish the perceived offender. To insult the ‘Sangha’ is wrong as per the Teachings of Buddha. So is it to insult the clergy of any religion. We can say we do not agree with them and criticize them in a civilized manner. But never take the law in to our own hands. Buddha, respected teachers of other faiths but did not hesitate to attack what he thought were their wrong ideas.

This is not the case with Islam. As far as I know, Islam is the only religion, where an individual can go to heaven by killing ‘infidels’. By definition an infidel is someone does not believe in Allah, Prophet Mohammed and the Holy Quran. The strange thing is that even Muslims of other sects different from that of the concerned person are considered as infidels and should be killed. They seem to have other standards judge who is an infidel and who is not. And we know that hundreds of Muslims are killed every day by other Muslims. In fact, I find that the Muslims hate other Muslims of different sects than people of other faiths.

This can be true in the societies where Buddhas teachings are followed.

What we see in SL is not buddhas teachings but kind of their own theories far from NON-VIOLENCE.
Just listen and analyse what those monks droped down so aggressively to poor or the poor – who have no what soever perspectives for their shelter.
First those monks should focus on the humanity then the religion.

Not buddhas teaching but Teachings of ALAWYAKA or MOST ABUSIVE Rajapakshes nationalitstic agendas are filled in their cow dung filled heads.
These men in RED ROBES have no what so ever seelaya, they behave breaking all all the 5 while abusing the dana, and other offers to them.
This has been part and parcel of lanken abusive society today.
Even if they would utter totally irrational thoughts, there are enough to commend them since they are buddhist monks.
But in the reality they are an another groups of thugs hidden behind ROBES.
Our new generations should be made very clear no tto give DANA to these monks, so long they are healthy and earn their living by own.
I hate to offer a sinle cent to them from next on.
Better focus on the aged people and kinder in kinderheimen. Children who are really in need.

                  God bless srilanka.

Appubaba, I don’t agree with you. As long as a person is a Buddhist priest, I worship, offer him Dana and respect him no matter what his shortcomings are. It is not for me to judge whether he is following the 10 million odd rules in the Vinaya Pitaka, that Buddha has laid down as discplinary rules for the Sangha.

The main things I expect from a Buddhist priest are (1) Learning the Dhamma (2) teaching it to others who seek knowledge (3) protecting the Dhamma for as long as possible so that the coming generations would benefit from it.

When Dutu Gemunu went to war with Elara many Buddhist priests accompanied the army advising and blessing them. The words of Dutu Gemunu is important here. He said “This military campaign is not for power or to avenge my people. It is purely to protect the Dhamma and consequently the country where the Dhamma exists so that the coming generations may benefit from it”.

Harming even an ant is an Akusala Karma according to the Dhamma. But in certain situations one has to commit such acts for the sake of others. In doing so one risks his own wellbeing in future lives. We take full responsibility and any repercussions on us if and when we commit such acts.

It has to be noted that I am not trying to compare the Rohingya incident with DG’s military campaign and trying to give excuses. I do not have enough evidence to comment on it the Rohingya incident .

I totally denounce if Buddhist priests were arrested.

Protesters are arrested while Muslim human smugglers and boat people who violated the immigration law are protected!!!
Government Ministers are engaged in human smuggling with the assistance of UNHRC.

Boat people should be sent back to India where they come from!!! These people are NOT Rohingya refugees, as revealed by Hilmy Ahamed, they had come from India where they were for two years. They were not screened by the government.

What the government is going to do if 3 more boats come with children/women/men claiming that they are Rohingya refugees??? Western countries issued warnings already that ISIS spreading their tentacles to Asia. Anybody can pose as kith and kin of these people and visit Sri Lanka, by boat, pretending stranded and helpless. India doesn’t accept Rohingya refugees.

I’m not surprised this action by a government which came into power by selling the country and auctioning the lives of war heroes to LTTE diaspora. Mangala has a hatred against Sinhalese Buddhists which was seen many times.

It was the protest against them which brought the human smuggling racket into light. I have no regard for UNHRC which issued a statement few months ago erecting the statue of a Tamil terrorist leader as a human right!!!

One law to Buddhist countries, one law to Christian countries. When Trump banned Muslims from 7 countries, UN was silent. Human Rights cohorts were silent.

People have a right to protest against boat people being sheltered here for months. The stupidity of some people stoning the house counteracted the real protest. Violence is not protest or dissent, guys. Don’t give ammunition to the government to justify their wrongdoings. DON’T ENGAGE IN VIOLENCE. Let’s be aware. We have bigger issues that need real protest SANS violence.

          Champa.

“I totally denounce if Buddhist priests were arrested.”

They were arrested for criminal activity and the law of the land , the criminal code, requires the suspected criminals be arrested and given their day in court, due process of law, to defend themselves.

The Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” monks can invoke the Mahawamsa, Deepawamsa, Kata Katha etc. to defend the actions. The courts will have to decide if the Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” Monks are immune from criminal persecution, because they have shaved their heads and wearing saffron robes.

The Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” monks Talduwe Somarama and Buddharakkita were NOT given immunity from crimes for conspiring and killing a Prime Minister.

            Amarasiri

Really? They are criminals? They didn’t kill anybody, did they, as ISIS or LTTE? Stoning as clearly seen here haven’t done with a criminal mind.

I have seen people stoning buildings without any criminal intent, as a means of expressing anger in most protests not only in Sri Lanka, but USA, Europe, in Asian countries everywhere, not that I approve.

How about the murderer who killed 60,000 youth including Buddhist priests in 1989 as confirmed by Batalanda Report and the man who accepted billions from LTTE diaspora as bribes to send war heroes to jail?

            What immunity do they enjoy?

            • 9

              Champa,

“Really? They are criminals? They didn’t kill anybody, did they, as ISIS or LTTE? Stoning as clearly seen here haven’t done with a criminal mind.”

A criminal is anybody who has committed a criminal act. Initially, they are suspects, until proven guilty of the criminal act. Criminal activity includes property damage bodily hat, killings and even constancy to commit such acts, such as a coup, notwithstanding failure to execute such a plan, or partially succeeding in such a plan.

Agree , that the thugs at this stage are suspects, not criminals because they have not yet been convicted by a court of law with due process.

However, when it comes Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” Saffron clad monks, even when they are suspects with overwhelming evidence, the current system never convicts them, even when considerable property damage and killings have taken place. The Saffron clad monk Ganasara, who is complicit with other, in criminal activity at many places gets off scot-free, after some teledrama.

Why should the Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” Saffron clad monks, be given immunity from criminal prosecution, when they don’t been follow Buddha’e teachings ? The should be prosecuted as Buddhist Quacks.

I protest that this SOB was given the opportunity to appear at the CCD and then arrested. He should not have been given that opportunity.
He should have been dragged from the temple and thrown into a vehicle, kept in police remand for a day and produced in court and then remanded.
This should not end here there were a few were few bums from the Rajapaksa Nikaya.

Throw the book at them if you don’t want this repeated. This is an insult to Buddhism and the country.

Please change your attitudes Edwin or make efforts to do so.

                  1) the problem is not dog bites but the behaviours of dog-like lanken people and their indifferent nature. No matter even lovely ones would have been caught by all inhuman ways, they just need to focus on their petty gains.

                  2) Sure, CT respects it, but be careful, some of your comments sound supportive to Champas or the ones whose mission is to promote sinhala so called buddhism (that is man tra of extremists in the country) would not be tolerated by CT or us no means.
So the beware of your pen/lips.

                  3) You love CT posts but I also know they have to block you on and on if your thoughts would not remain within CT guidelines.

                  4) Yes, your request is reasonable, I will consider this from next moment on..I sometimes like your posts. You should be a regular commenter.

Leelagemalliye, That is below the belt. As I have mentioned elsewhere, Silvestra was not only my housekeeper but was a daughter to me, caring for me and looking after me. It hurts me when you imply that the relationship was a ‘bad’ one. I feel sorry not for me. I am bad. Not just bad. But bad bad. If Silvestra what you said she is, I would have loved to start an affair with her, she being young and attractive. But she made it clear to me right at the start where the lines are. And I respected them.

Colombo Telegraph, In Journalism Truth is a Process,

Thanks for reporting on the UN Safe House Attack: Infamous Saffron Thug Arrested.

Since you say, “In Journalism Truth is a Process,”, let us call a spade, a spade. CT did not fully describe the Infamous Saffron Thug Arrested.
The truth is that the “Infamous Saffron Thug” is really a
Para-Sinhala-“Buddhist” Saffron Clad Monk, who follows the ideology of Sinhala “Buddhists” based on the myths and imaginations of the Para-Monk Mahanama of the Mahawamsa chronicles, that has very little to do with the pristine Buddhism as taught by the Buddha. They are the curse of the Land of Native Veddah Aethho, and the Para-Sinhala “Buddhists” with an average IQ of 79, cannot tell the good, the bad and the ugly from one another. from the other.

Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” Monks: An Insult to Buddhism

Wonder if ours might have been a wiser, and a more ‘humane’ society, had our ‘ancient’ history, been based on Aesop’s Fables, instead of the Mahavamsa. For if not for the Mahavamsa, the Sinhalese may not have been endowed, with the reputation, of “Sinhalaya Modaya (The Sinhalese are Fools)”!

      Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) ,

RE: UN Safe House Attack: Infamous Saffron Thug Arrested

      Bravo.

If Talduwe Somarama, who committed a crime by killing the later Prime Minister Mr. SWRD Bandaranaike, could be arrested tried and hanged, AND Buddharakkita, could be tried similarly tried for the conspiracy to kill the Prime Minister, why cannot the so-called Infamous Saffron Thug, be arrested and tried as well?

No double standards please for the monks, when they commit crimes.

The Enlightened Buddha did not preach to commit crimes and murder. Please apply the law of the land to maintain law and order. The other monks will NOT apply the Vinaya, the Rules for Monks. It has to be the law of the land.

This is really a number one criminal country.

Even professors invovles in Murder Cases. Even State leaders that have been godded by grass eating majorities let their hands be in murder plans.

Just now i happened to read the case of former Rugby player and got killed by an alleged accided according former first family.
But with the dawn of new govt, the incident was revealed to be a secretly handled murder by former FIRST family.

Today, I READ the JMO with a Professor title to have been one of the arrestees to be made next.
Body parts of the murdered boy too were abused by keeping in various friges as Peity is no heard to this men. Can you imagine?

This kind of state affairs can only be related for SRILANKENS.

      BRAVO. MINISTER MANGALA SAMARAWEERA!!
I applaud you for your bravery in expressing the appalling behaviour
of the men in yellow robes.
No one had the courage , not even the President or the PM! But you had no fear of Curse or bad karma .
The country is in this dire situation due to the FEAR INSTILLED BY THESE MEN IN ROBES.
Anything said against these Ayatollas in Yellow Robes or the Religion will attain
      BAD KARMA !!
This is the fear instilled from childhood in A CHILD’s MIND in the name of Buddhagama and Buddhism.
      Right??
The President goes on making the mistake agreeing to these MONKEES IN YELLOW ROBES because he too is SHIVERING UNDER HIS NATIONAL COSTUME , Saying YES SIR ,NO SIR THREE BAGS FULL SIR.!!
Just agreeing for all these Ayatollas commands.
Never mind about the COUNTRY GONE BONKERS WITH RACISM , TORTURE, MURDERS , RAPES AND THIEVING !!
But obey the AYATOLLAHS IS THE ORDER WHICH HE OBEDIENTLY OBSERVES LIKE A PUPPET ON A STRING OR THE WAGGING DOG!!

How ever I commend Minister Mangala and Minister Rajitha for being blatantly blunt and said what should have been said by the other men and women in the Parliament too.

The country has been tarnished by the earlier regime completely while we nurse the wound,
The so called ” Yahapal ” should stop the ROT AND DRAG US AWAY FROM THE BAD SITUATION.
We cannot blame the Police force because they too were waiting for their orders from the superiors.
Eventual superior order should come from the PRESIDENT , WHICH HE IGNORED AND GIVEN IN TO THESE BARBARIC YELLOW ROBED MONSTERS.
THE PRESIDENT SHOULD PUT HIS HEAD DOWN IN UTTER SHAME AND DISGRACE FOR SEEING WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN THE NAME OF SACRED BUDDHISM.

At least they are being arrested. In Bangladesh the Muslim MP who led the violence in killing of Hindus and burning their properties was allowed to go scot free. In Pakistan no action was taken against Islamic terrorists who bombed a church killing several Christians. For Muslims there is one law for them one for non-Muslims. None of those who are shouting for the atrocities against Muslims will not lift a finger about crimes committed by Muslims against non-Muslims in Srilanka or abroad.

      • 2
        1

How convenient of you to pull in Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. When it suits your agenda and ask us what we did about that? But when it comes to the myanmar problem somehow it’s a nother country and the sinhala buddists here have nothing to do with it. If you as a buddist don’t have to answer for myanmar then the muslims Don’t have to answer for Bangladesh or Pakistan, coz afterall just like myanmar those countries are foriegn countries too. And what ‘atrocities’ did sri lankan muslims commit against you? Do you even know what an ‘atrocity’ is? Looks like you are having a severe case of verbal diarrhea. Sinhala buddists too have their own laws if not explain how a criminal like Gnanasara is free? Hypocritical buddists only know to point fingers at others while their own garbage stinks sky high. Have you forgotten how you brutally killed innocence tamils in 83? Were the jvp massacres done by muslims? And recently killing and raping thousands of tamils? Burning shops in the night like cowards? Ofcourse sinhala buddists are saints and everybody else are demons.

LittleisimonfromBerlin, -“The days they would have been hung by their balls the way some countries do will come sooner than later”.

As far as I know, condemned people are hung by their necks and never by their testicles unless they have their testicles around their necks.

Secondly, the authorities would be accused of sexual discrimination because only men can be hung like that (even if it is at all possible).

Only non smart patriots like SF was arrestedand charged. Under Mahinda-Gotha the law and order was better. Their legal consultants were Sarath N Silva, Mohan Peris and Wijeyadasa Rajapakse. I’m not sure of consultancy role by Gomyn D.

    Dear Comment writers,

The people who are writing comments supporting the arrest of this Buddhist monk, need to request the Inspector -General of Police (IP) to arrest the Perpetrators of the Bond Scam and other financial crimes. This is an act to please the UNHCR.

I condemn this act because the Sri Lankan government has not carried out their duties properly and they have housed these refugees among the civillion population. It is an incorrect procedure adopted by the Sri Lankan government.

If these people have gone to Australia by boat, they would be transferred to PNG, Manus Island and kept them there in a detention camp.

Who ever you are, yo should know it if a case is being investigated, about which nobody has right to criticise.

Srilanken government run by RAJAPAKSHES never carried out their duties thinking that the kind of skin heads would be a problems to the country and even to IC in the future.

TOday it has become KENDA to Kanda – insect to an elephant. No shame, those pinguthataryas would utter derogatory of high grade calling that their rise would be to protect sinhala nation ? My FOOT. these ballige puthas hidden behind the sanga robes to live up their propensities using criminals energies that way should be put down by anyone with a little brain.
We need law and order which would work for all equally.
If china without religion can function to be one of the progressive nation why cant we ?
We should leave the religion aside, but not harming it. To mix politics with Relgion is no good for the nation and country.

Have you been in deep slumber in the deep, deep, deep South?
As a religious duty we have been writing, demanding, insulting crooks, …………………………. since the scam was first reported.
Now it is time for us to write, demand, insult ….. the saffron clad Sinhala/Buddhist fascists thugs. If I have insulted you I really meant it.

“If these people have gone to Australia by boat, they would be transferred to PNG, Manus Island and kept them there in a detention camp.”

The Dr Gota/Namal boat service to down under stopped a few years ago due pressure from Australian Government.

You know we would like to deport all those descendants of Kallathonie converts back to your ancestral home in South India. We could device voluntary repatriation or involuntary removal/deportation. Which one would you prefer for you, your kith and kin, …………? Take your time and let us know.

      Sunil Dahanayake,

“The people who are writing comments supporting the arrest of this Buddhist monk, need to request the Inspector -General of Police (IP) to arrest the Perpetrators of the Bond Scam and other financial crimes.”

What is your IQ? Just curious! Remember, the average IQ of the Sinhala “Buddhist” is 79.

The job of the police is to arrest and present to the judiciary, the criminals who have committed the crimes. The PROBLEM was that the Police were NOT arresting the criminals EVEN when their identity was known , because they were Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” Monks or Para-Sinhala “Buddhists”

As for the Bond Scam, there is a Commission to handle it.

The FCID was been slow in prosecuting all the crimes, financial and other of the Mahinda Rajapaksa and Cronies.

      Sunil

Shouldn’t all unpatriotic people be in places like Manus or PNG.?

How come arm chair critics who benefited from tax payer funded education live in luxury in Australia, USA, Eu or Canada?

Such people benefited from tax payer funded education in SL and serve another country for their own benefit rather than serving a Uni like Batticaloa or Anuradhapura,.

What kind of patriotism is that?

The only good thing in the Aussie higher education system is that when there is no demand from students for a given course – the academics responsible for such courses are terminated without being a burden on the system.

Hope such system can be introduced in SL so that academics who produce unemployable graduates can all be terminated and we can clean up the university system.

“I condemn this act because the Sri Lankan government has not carried out their duties properly and they have housed these refugees among the civilian population. It is an incorrect procedure adopted by the Sri Lankan government.”

They were initially at the Mirihana Detention Center, but after a police officer raped one of the girls (15yr old minor) the courts requested the UNHCR to transfer them out of Mirihana for their own safety, and thus the current accommodations were made with ALL expenses being born by the UNHCR.

You can please blame the police officer… whose family was also apparently part of the mob… but i bet the proud Sinhala Buddhist extremists won’t have anything to say about that since he’s one of their own…

“I condemn this act because the Sri Lankan government has not carried out their duties properly and they have housed these refugees among the civillion population.”

What’s wrong with that? It was a UNHRC managed safe house for refugees. Your not that ignorant to know that military has had safe houses among the civilian population.

When Karuna was fighting VP, Gota the def sec or MR the def minister had no problem allowing them to be among the civilian population and you guys had no problem.

The Maha Sangha of this country have in general, behaved with dignity for many centuries and have been the backbone of Sri Lankan society . There are rotten eggs among all clerics , and these monks have once again disgraced the Sangha by their despicable behaviour . They have also given a further opportunity to those anti Buddhists among us , to demonstrate their lack of breeding by hurling abuse and filth at anything and everything connected to Buddhism .

      The Oracle

“The Maha Sangha of this country have in general, behaved with dignity for many centuries and have been the backbone of Sri Lankan society .”

Really, the Grand Duke of Malawatta at the time of the reign of Kirti Sri Rajasimha planned to kill him in an elaborate plot. He was caught by the king’s men and had him executed.

What did they do during 1915 riots against Muslims? Their silence is the root cause of all conflicts or/and their support for the public racists.

It is the Grant Dukes of Maha Sangh who have been encouraging the Sinhala/Buddhist fascists to destroy Buddhism and Sinhala people. Aren’t you one of the irrational Sinhala/Buddhist fascist activists?

If these monks themselves had any breeding, they would have acted better. There are idiots in any society who think that criminals are above criticism just because they wear robes. Hiding your head in the sand, ostrich-like, will not drive away these predators destroying the Sangha. It is time for true Buddhists to act.

Obviously all of them are guilty. If they all allowed to go scot free, then the stage play to hoodwink public is performed by Police/SR/RW/MS. People should not forget Gnanasara thero was allowed to go scot free few days back. He has changed his cacophony tune 180 deg opposite. People should not fall victim to their gimmicks.

Haven’t we seen this charade before? I have lost count the number of times the BBS, Gnanasara, & various other thugs who were taken into custody, released or bailed out immediately. In an off chance of a conviction, they spend time in hospital (thereby depriving an actually sick person of a bed) until released, pending an appeal.

We can expect pigs to fly the day we have justice, fairplay & a honorable & accountable political system in SL.

Those Mahanaayakas just enjoy their life styles.

NOt a single monk among them have real hearts towards the REAL issues in this country.

Sure yes they agree not once several dozens of times.

Media men should have to bring truthful coverage being unbiased to any parties.

What happened to the incident in MADAKALPUWA the monk provoked the gramasewaka standing next to him using all the filthy sinhala terms….

Were there any taking pardon or the like …… ? Never, it is just because even if they make high criminal acts they are just sinhalaya.

I think SINHALAYA my own origin is the most racists in the world.

They are no different to some racists in middleeast countries.

They just talk but do nothing. There is no system but to be restricted to LIP SERVICES.

Burghers and Muslims have been given no rights.
Burghers have not a single person to respresent them in any parliamentary bodies.
We the born buddhist repeat proudly as we can how POWERFUL we the sinhalayas have been.

Edwin, please have some omeprasol, that can help you further.

I know you are no entity to this platform.

My wish is Champa to be banned to put the feet to this platform.

He is so biased to Wimalawathie who abused the nation as nothing could help get return.

Samuel, Champa must be a new comer. I have only read a couple of her posts. I think that you are a forgiving man. I do not know whether Champa’s posts are so bad as to ban her altogether. Anyway only CT can take a decision on that.

Why not try to correct her ways so that she can also make a good contribution.

        • 0
          0

I have no idea about the genetics of the Champa.

So I b elieve the being should be a man.

Anyways, he has all along been irritating us all on this platform. You have no idea what his or her arguments have been.
Always, taking it out as SINHALA BUDDHIST outfit, he attacks us all here.
This now has come to all unbearable levels sadly.

You yourself know we are all born into the religion. We cant be called such SINHALA BUDDHISTS just because some devious politicos abuse it for their vote attractions. Most of the sanga hidden in Safraon robes are no means good monks. If they are given freedom they would do things like the way lay people would do on broad day light.
That aggressive monk Balusara has proved it over the past few years alone.
And lately held pindapath saga was an another abusive act to show that no matter laws prevail, they the sanga should be kept above the altar.
Are you ready to head down to those men that behave equally crminals to lay men in that branch ?
I think each of us has to think twice before doing anything today. Entire society is taken by crimes and criminal friendly sentiments. Media makes the icing on it since media can earn their collosal sums so long criminals are scot free and roaming the city.
All in all, I think you have now sensed the situation Edwin.
I would like you guys with brains to follow these issues closely. You ve been a mid-sexagenarian can be exemplary with your thoughts. If not today when?

Bowing Your Head SJ, You ask me whether I will bow my head to those monks. I don’t like to do so even for good monks. All these bowing makes us subservient to them as well as to our leaders. When the children of my relatives try to bow before me, I always tell them – don’t do it. I don’t want you to bow your head to anyone.

That way I admire the Muslims who bow only to Allah and no one else. Unfortunately, Allah in my opinion is just a myth created in human minds. I do not believe in any Creator God.

Just now in BBC I saw that Stephen Hawking has said that humans mind another place to live in within a few decades because Earth will soon become unlivable.

Thanks for your thoughts. I really appreciate the kind of thoughts specially coming from a senior professional :) Applause. ..
But people down there are made to do so. They dont have any other choice. They are made FOLLOWERs not self doers.
              Not just purawaesiyo but yatathwasiyo.
Me too I become allergic when anyone would let fallen down my feet just because I am older than them. That is a ritual down there but it has now become more or less like ” leaving your lovely ones with the saying Budusaranayi”. No matter even if you are about to fulfil the next contract killing orders but most down there are used to use the term ” BUDUSARANYI”.
And ever higher criminals wear wrist bands – pirith noole no matter whatever high crime they would further commit…
That has been the SO CALLED culture to date.
Anyways, media is not yet ready to train the people matching with today s standards.

It is possible this is Ranil wicramasinghe’s work. Because, Arjun Mahendran has told twice he did what Ranil wanted. So, if sri lanka is a fiar System there are few more politicians in the govt that go to jail. So, Ranil is trying to make Maithripala sirisena also lose the election.

“there is a possibility this CT articles are complte lies.’

You can check it up with the other publications, to see if they are complete lies or partial lies.

When one check the Mahawamsa, there are a lot of lies and imaginations, because when one checks them up, it becomes clear.

It is like the Sun goes around the Earth lie, or the flat Earth lie.

The statement that the Para-Sinhala “Buddhists” are Paras in the Land of Native Veddah Aethho is not a lie. There is evidence for the above statement.

    Maharage ,Nimal,
Niyamai. Brilliant. I’m glad you quoted no nonsense Sir John Kotallawela and how he put the trouble making people at their places.
My Late father used to talk to us about the sit in protest against BC pact that was carried out in front of temple trees by the Buddhist Monks and how SWRD responded without thinking about the future of the country. Imagine if Sir John Kotallewela was the PM how he would have responded to the monks with out any fear.

Majority of the majority should find a young leader who has the toughness and at the same time fairness as practiced by SJK. Hope youngsters reject all the corrupted politicians in the next election in 2020.

      Non PhD,

There are only 3 more years for the next election. From Independence UNP and SLFP have ruled this country. The other party is JVP but they don’t have a clear cut policy how to govern the country or how to solve our countries issues.

The only option is to come up with a new party. A party which believes in equality, Justice, Law and Order and progress for the country by eliminating corruption, fraud, improving education and transparency. A party which does not use race or religion to win elections but a party which can introduce pragmatic policies to uplift every Sri Lankan´s future. A party of visionary statesmen rather than politicians.

          Burt

“do you think if JVP and TNA join they will be able to pull off an upset?”

I doubt Sinhalese would vote for TNA. JVP has not come clean about its past, killing, socialism, racism, refuse to apologize for its share of war killing, war crimes , didn’t say sorry to the up country hard working Tamils for calling them India’s 5th column, why are they silent on China expansion in this island while they make big noise about Hindia, ………………… JVP is still dishonest about its past and will like to hush it up.

JVP is keeping a deafening silent on war crimes, it will never ever allow thorough investigation. Just after 1990 it encouraged its cadres to join the forces. Some of them would have been involved in the war and committed war crimes. And any Sinhala/Buddhist Nationalist/Fascists worth the salt would not betray the war criminals.
