Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has today managed to arrest the leader of Sinhala Ravaya, Buddhist monk Akmeemana Dayarathana over the attack of the UN refugee safe house.

The Police said that the monk was arrested after being questioned by the CCD.
So far a total of seven suspects have been arrested including the monk. The four arrested on Saturday were Liyanage Abeyrathne Suresh Priyasad alias Dan. The other three arrested were; Paneetha Niroshan Deepage, Nawalage Don Chinthaka Sanjeewa and Nanayakkara Godakandha Kankanamlage Gayan Madhushanka Seneviratne.
Minister of Finance and Media Mangala Samaraweera in a video release called radical Buddhist monks who led the attack as “saffron robed thugs” whilst Cabinet Spokesman Rajitha Senaratne called them “Animals”.

Where on earth is this so called “Sinhalese Buddhist Country?” Except a few Kavum gobbling Sinhala-Buddhist Modayass, nobody else has ever heard or seen such a country called “Sinhalese-Buddhist”.
This is why it did not take much time for the Colonial rulers to identify the Sinhalese as foolish people only good at eating Kavum. Sinhala race was very lazy, violent, racist, hateful, jealous and mean spirited. Sri Lanka originally belonged to its natives, the Veddhas. All others are immigrants. Today Sri Lankan constitution says it’s a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-religious, tri-lingual democratic republic which means Sri Lanka is the country of Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burghers, Buddhists, Hindus, and Christians. All the religions and all the races other than Veddhas came from outside but today they are all together known as Sri Lankans.
Sinhala-Buddhists are only the majority but not the sole owners of the country. Only a few Modayass who cannot think beyond a Kavum will say, the majority race in a country is the sole owner or rather “Sri Lanka is a Sinhalese Buddhist country”.

Whatever their religious background and wherever they come from, a refugee as recognized by the UN has the right to reside in the country from whence they applied for refugee status, until their claim is processed. Thailand has hosted many Laotian refugees for decades, as has India the Tibetans and Sri Lankan Tamils. We too have hosted Afghans and Pakistanis for many years. Hongkong has hosted many Sri Lankans, as we found out when press came out about the Edward Snowden escape to Russia.
Yet, this is the first time that a mob has succeeded in forcing refugees out of their shelter. The fact that this mob was led by a buddhist monk brings shame to the Sangha. The fact that mob attack a private residence calling for the removal of people approved to live their is illegal.
So I for one am glad to see the arrest of suspects, including the monk.
It is quite sad to see people fleeing for fear of their lives being barred shelter – like Donald Trump did with his “muslim” ban. I was proud to be Sri Lankan when I could say that Sri Lanka has been hosting these refugees, unlike the US! I hope that these arrests reaffirm SL’s committment to giving shelter to people who are persecuted.
After all, Vijaya was also a refugee thrown out by his father. Kuveni gave him shelter. So were most of the ancestors of the muslims of the east coast of SL.
While every country has the right to check up on the potential of terrorist and other nefarious ties of refugees, no one has the right to form lynch mobs and terrorize any resident of SL – foreign, refugee or otherwise.

Guys, don’t you see that all this is the fault of the UN? The article heading itself says it is an Unsafe House. Who is responsible for that? Of course it is the UN. They put these poor people in Unsafe houses and then bill the going rent in the area for an Unsafe house. The balance is pocketed by the UN guys.

If that was the case why did that rapist police constable pay Dan Priyasad 125,000/= in bribes? My good friend Mr Iddamalgoda tells me that “Bloody Buddharakitha put me off Buddhism for good”. Now he is convinced that he made the right decision when he sees the state of our local Buddhism that is polluted by thugs in saffron robes. My God, to think that decent people, women and children, have to stand in public transport so that these buggers can sit in comfort! Even worse, when more educated, decent people are forced to prostrate themselves before these jokers. When will our people see the light? Even though Buddhism is given the foremost place in Sri Lanka, there is no central authority (Buddhist Disciplinary Commission/Committee) to monitor/control the behavior/actions of the Buddhist Monks to see if they are aligned with the Buddhist Vinaya (disciplinary code). Even the Mahanayake Theros of the four main Nikayas have no authority to punish the monks (or rather rogues and rowdies in robes). Due to this, unfortunately Buddhism has to pay the price, it is tragic to see that the Buddhist religion is dragged down to such a low level by non-other than the members of the Buddhist clergy. The Buddhasasana ministry is just another good for nothing institute and a silent observer to all the anti-Buddhist acts committed by the so called Buddhist monks or rather rogue monks (cheevaradharis) who are hijacking the Buddhist religion with their anti-Buddhist activities and disrupting the peace in the country. Unfortunately in Sri Lanka, even the president ignores the anti-social anti-Buddhist behaviour of the Buddhist Sangha. Just like every other Sinhala-Buddhist, even the President is scared of the saffron robes and therefore they go unpunished. What we should not forget is, it is the Buddhist monks who plotted and killed the SLFP founder and Prime Minister SWRD Bandaranayake. From then till now, the Buddha Sasana is one of the main undisciplined organization in Sri Lanka.

I know most of you guys are going to hate me for saying this. But that is what appeals to me in Buddhism. No control, no central authority, chaos and mayhem, everyone saying and doing what he/she wants.. What more can one ask from a religion? Buddhism is the greatest religion in the world.
Are they not afraid of going to Apaya? Well, may be a little but not a lot. In my case, I feel quite relaxed, as if I were sitting for my final exam in Engineering. If I fail, that is not the end of the world. I can sit next year. This is not so in other religions. You get only one attempt. If you fail and land in hell. Boy, Oh boy, then you have had it. It is eternal.

One of the biggest crime of Sinhala-Buddhism was ordaining Jimsofty when he was a child at the tender age and forcing him to live a life detached from all normalcy, how primitive and cruel it was. Jimsofty was given away to the Buddhist temple at an early age, he could not understand the religion or child abuse or the intimacyual molestation he faced. He was sodomised day and night by both the Loku Saadu and Podi Saadu. He was also deprived of proper social interaction which is a major part of education in becoming an adult. This could partly explain the antisocial behavior he shows on this forum. He was deprived the love and affection of parents and loved ones, not really exposed to the good and bad of the society and he finds it difficult to fit in due to his mental imbalance. Finally one day he ran away with a LGBT Suddha (foreign tourist) when he visited the temple and now lives in a foreign country.

But do you know, that you are clearing your own path to the worst of the Apayas, when you do so? Insulting Maha Sangha should not be taken lightly. Do you know that in AMN (AMN here standing not for American Movie Network but for Avici Maha Narakaya) have some interesting things awaiting you offenders, like frying them in huge oil vats. They are not really the vats you may be thinking of. They are more like Parakrama Samudra in size. You go up and down these hot oil vats with the so-called convection currents formed in oil due to heat.
After many kalpas (a kalpa being many million years) you break the surface and you open your mouth to shout මගෙ අම්මෝ but before you get to අම්මෝ you are sucked back again not to be seen for many more kalpas.

Buddhism and Justifiable Violence: Hamlet, no layman has the right to decide whether a monk is good or bad. And hence, we have no right to decide by how many testicles he should be hung or whether he should be hung at all. Take Devadatta, Siddhartha’s brother in law. He may be regarded as the worst monk ever to don a yellow robe. He even tried to kill Buddha many times. But did Buddha ever try to remove him monkhood? NO…
In this case, what can we do? I can suggest a few options
1) One can approach him directly and respectfully. When I approached the Matugama monk, he gave me a very good justification that satisfied me.
2) One can approach his guru priest. Every monk has one.
3) Ask one of his comrades.
If you are a Buddhist, you should never publicly insult or threaten monks. Unlike in other religions there is no central authority in Buddhism. We do not have Popes or Ayatollahs and that is the great thing about Buddhism.
Buddhism has thrived in Sri Lanka because of the monks. The Sangha organized and were in the fore front of violent struggles against colonial invaders. They sacrificed their well being and perhaps are even now suffering in the Narakadiyas for what they have done. They did so to protect Buddhism and the country where true teachings exist.
If you do not like that you can go and jump in the nearest lake and if you live in the Colombo area, I suggest the Beira.
