Lets take an example, what would you think would happen if one chose to protest after a Manchester United football match, just when the crowd coming out from the stadium, chanting slogans against the club and its players? the MAN U Supporters would rip them apart and EFF them upside down. Why ? they are obviously drunk after a football match plus they are very loyal to their club. But in a different scenario same set of people would have reacted very differently and peacefully. same principle applies to the Sri Lankan fans too.It is true that protesting is anyones right, selecting the time and place is their choice. As for your contention that the last one day world cup malinga was not got at by the bookies,that finals with india was very suspicious indeed.There was even a story going the rounds that the son of a VVIP in srilanka was involved in fixing it using bhutan for meeting place to fix it.There are two aspects in this,one is the enormous power that the BCCI as you rightly pointed out has which will ever preclude srilanka from ever beating india in home grounds in front of its own people in a world cup final.It would have exerted the maximum pressure on our board of control for cricket to go softly softly.The other aspect is politicins in srilanka trying to appease india as well as kill two birds with one stone by making huge money too.
This is not the ideal world we are living in.It has become a stinking corrupt world where money has become evrything in life.
I still reiterate that srilanka on paper at least had a better side when they met India 2 days ago.Also your fast bowlers are not upto grade 1 level,when they meet england and compare with broad,anderson,bresnan,tremlett,finn and treadwell you will realise that.The english players don’t play IPL and will not be easily corruptible too.When you play IPL you will be under pressure to underperform,otherwise your next contract will be 100000 dollars instead of 500000 dollars.
However what has impressed me is the new look Indian side playing with great professionalism and the best fielding side i have seen.That chap raina is a role model for everybody,the way he practices so hard.It is I think good that they got rid of all those ageing stars and now a great side is being formed.
