Rajapaksa Is A Henahura (Harbinger Of Evil) And A Hora (Thief): Ex CJ Silva

Former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva during an emotional speech today described President Mahinda Rajapaksa as ‘a harbinger of evil’ (Henahura) who has made a thundering blow against the law of Sri Lanka and added that this attack will surely boomerang.

Ex-CJ Silva addressing the gathering at a public rally held at the Muttiah Park today made these remarks as he stringently crticised the Supreme Court opinion given on the constitutionality to contest for a third term as per a request by President Rajapaksa, while he described the judgement as one ‘lacking in transparency’ and a ‘corrupt point of view’.

“It seems the Supreme Court judges have worked in great haste to deliver the verdict to the request made by President Rajapaksa in great secrecy to the CJ. The SC was literally allowed only a few hours to deliver this judgement as a result of the weekend and the poya holiday last week. However despite  time restrictions, Nimal Siripala Silva delivered it before the parliament yesterday! Nowhere in this world has a Supreme Court decision been delivered before the parliament. Is this respect or disrespect for the country’s law?,” Silva questioned the public.

He went on to criticise the judges who gave the verdict as he stated that such individuals need not station themselves at Hulftsdorp but should instead remain in a small room within the premises of Temple Trees so they they can freely manufacture verdicts that suit the whims and fancies of the President.

He went on to state the judgement is also not a cause for surprise since as it was Peiris who as the then Attorney General helped draft the 18th amendment in order to remove the legal restrictions that prevented Mahinda Rajapaksa from contesting for a third term of Presidency.

“We are left with no other choice than to expect a sense of justice from the judiciary although we were aware of the outcome. But as the public we can do one thing – the power of the judiciary lies in the hands of the masses. So I urge the public to take a stand against these blatant injustices and right these wrongs at the upcoming Presidential elections,” he added while adding it is time to save the country from shawl-donned thieves.

It is time to unite the people irrespective of race, color, language, religion. Get together, Speak together, write together, work together, Go to the people in every corner of the island, expose the criminals, expose the lies of the criminals, expose the danger of Dictatorship, no politics, no racism, no division; bring back democracy, bring back independence of justice, bring back rule of the law, bring back the power of the people. Don’t stop the revolution until the liberation of the nation and people.

The joint opposition must EDUCATE and listen to the pulse of the people.

They must EXPLAIN and EDUCATE the Sinhala masses on why abolishing the Executive Presidency is necessary in order to win votes: The executive Presidency has enabled massive corruption and social and economic inequality and injustice and impoverishment of the people to benefit a few – i.e. Mahinda Rajapaksa family and cronies. This must be told directly to the people.

Abolishing EP and constitutional amendments is too abstract for the moda Sinhala Masses. The LINKS between Rajapaksa family and cronies CORRUPTION, bad economic policies that impoverish majority of people should be clearly made to win Sinhala Modaya’s votes.

This is the exact style of speeches SL masses need to hear , they are not interested in listening to a boring speech with full of jargon like GDP , FDI , inflation rate , per capita etc .
well done Ex CJ , though you are root course of this unfortunate state of affairs in the country , you will be forgiven as long as you stand against the current leadership .

AKD , two ex Cjs , CBK , Mangala , Ven Rathana , ven MS , Gen SF , Karu J, Harin , Harsha , Ajith P , Ranjan, et al can do a lot to attract Millions of floating votes.

Yes, Srilal, people make mistakes but the speech of former CJ covers almost everyting. He called a spade a spade so publicly. Our so called people gurus like DJ and Viktor IWAN still stay like Kirimati gilapu kimbulas. If the synergy of many would converge, we can be sure of this ballige puthas be away from our sights soon. I really have no desire to see that things stay this lagged in current day srilanka.

i don’t know about you , but majority of people will agree , that we need to move on , going round in circles and finger pointing will not get us any where !

Ex CJ had been publicly humiliated by Victor ivan and every body knows who Sarath N Silva is , so there is no point going through the same old stories over and over again , i’d already read those leaked stories when it was first out , so no thanks !

Definitely, but not with these old crooks as drag on our governance and progress. If we can’t find a honourable wise man let us wait.

Please tell us what was his contribution to the process of democratisation of this island.

                    NV ,

“If we can’t find a honourable wise man let us wait. “

are you or any one else suggesting SNS as the CC ? i don’t think so ! then what is the big fuss here ? who ever comes out against MR will be an added advantage for the opposition , i simply don’t get your point NV !

“Please tell us what was his contribution to the process of democratisation of this island. “

as i repeatedly stated before , SNS is the architect of the current mayhem , now tell us what do you want him to do now , just go on helping MR as nothing has happened or vanished in to thin air ? neither of the above choices wouldn’t do any good for SL , then what is the next most logical option ? SNS has had accepted his fault for letting MR go and he regrets about it , had he been just expressing his regrets now and do absolutely nothing about it , yes your criticism may be acceptable , is that the case now ? SNS has been spear heading against MR and actively participating by educating populace , at least for me he has done enough damage for MR’s 3 rd term candidacy when main opposition leader is hiding !

if we just go on criticizing every single person and action for the sake of criticizing , then we might as well have a good look at ourselves , are we just bunch of key board revolutionists ?

We need the Common Sense pamphlet,

Who is going to write it, print it and distribute it..

I recommend Ms Tisaranee Gunasekara to write it!

She is the only writer with balls to attack Rajapaksa the way he should be attacked, and writing from Galagedara, shee can give a distant view of the problems.

Failing that, the regular CT contributors Vishwamitra and Emil van der Poorten should be considered to get the next best!

At the end of the day, they will only be pissing up the wind anyway, no?

      Ajith,

Not easy my friend. There are unsuspecting three wheelers and motorcycle men along with heaps of spies in saffron robes watching for any such individual in every corner of Sri Lanka. At the slightest threat the white van will arrive to remove that threat.

The people who want change are all in hiding with so much power concentrated in this single Rajapaksa family. No wonder no one is coming forward as a common candidate. They all know what happened to the last common candidate SF, who languished in jail for no other reason than challenge the incumbent.

Sarath Silva and Karu Jayasuriya are the biggest villains in the SL political story. If they had been honest from the beginning our political landscape would have been different.

yES sRILANKA s henahura is MR.

If not voting but pull the trigger will be in place looking at the history of the country. This man MR is made a joker to many today.
Those who raise the question why he does not allow others to contest – is the question that everyone raise these days. We should get back our democratic rights by sending this man home.

This man deserves to be caught by international courts if UNO addressed the issue properly. He has killed own civilians as if the fishermen killed the fish. Meaning not thinking twice. Today he has been continug the same towards sinahalese and muslims – Stupid people feel that president does the great job.
Instead as many of the eucated are clear, he only abused people s tax payers funds. THat is it.

Democracy and elections can never oust our dictators who control the military machinery behind their fist of fury. A peoples revolution that will deliver the bullet is the only answer now. This is why great countries like the USA have constitutionally mandated their citizens the right to bear arms because in people vest the supreme power. They can form a militias and even a private army in order to overthrow autocrats when the checks and balances means to an end. The present anarchy is a damn good lessons for our “modaya’s” who do not seem to learn lessons from our forefathers or the constitutional framers of great nations. Our foolish people are a backward race who deserve these dictators and Neanderthals.

An article by Charles Perera at LW begins with the following

In the corporate environment the Executive President” is the officer that exercises the majority of control over a company. It is his/her job to lead the company and guide it into a direction of profit and success. They work often with the COO and CFO of the cooperation to govern the company as a whole. At some companies this title is also referred to as CEO, Chief Executive Officer. If a said company has a Board of Directors the Executive President/CEO will often serve as Chairman of the Board.”

It is the same with an Executive President. During the past nine years It has been demonstrated in Sri Lanka that the Executive President is a positive power centre to fight enemies efficiently and keep at bay intruding enemies to thwart progress and development of the country, and bring peace and security to the people. Sri Lanka needed that environment. An Executive President proved extremely useful in the situation it was found in 2005 when Mr.Mahinda Rajapakse was elected to the high Office.

It was more important that the hands of an Executive President were not bound by checks and balances and kept free to exercise his executive powers for the protection of the country and the welfare of its people. In that the removal of the 17th Amendment was useful and the 18th Amendment that replaced it was essential to allow the Executive President to move freely in the exercise of his office.

Checks and balances do not help very much a President who wants to provide people with welfare measure as it is well seen in USA today. The President Barrack Obama’s welfare projects have been nipped away by the Congress and the Senate. Do we want same thing to happen here bringing back the 17 Amendment to limit the powers of the executive President ?

    ROFL! ROFL!

Time for the people to rise up and speak out against this corrupt and brutal regime. CJ Sarath Silva speaks the truth, and he is a learned man, and knows exactly what our country is facing. Another term, and we are all sunk. They have ruled with arrogance, greed, and made sure those who kiss up to them, murderers, thieves, and goons, are taken care of, protected, and have had their backs scratched. The people must not be fooled by these harbingers of evil anymore, they should remember Weliweriya, when their people were protesting for clean water, not luxuries, and were brutally killed and injured, by none other than this brutal family, they should be reminded about the cost of living while these skunks live like royalty, and they should be reminded about the ridiculous travel bill incurred by these people and their entourages, around the world, in utmost luxury, eating and sleeping in top hotels.
We cannot get rid of these vermin, until the country unites and votes them out.

    • 2
      0

Yes, CJ’s speech is fiery, but he is the cause of all this. He FIRST allowed crossovers, a politically motivated judgement and then he took Mahinda Rajapaksa off the hook in the Tsunami swindle which gave him the resources to launch his campaigns. The Ex CJ Silva’s judgements were no better that the current Mohan Peris’s. All of them have kissed the dirty arses of politican ever. Who can save the country now?

Why is it that no one has thought of impeaching the chief justice over his eagerness to deliver the SC’s opinion in a few (working) hours. That could also make the opinion null and void.

Legal experts will have to also now challenge the opinion here as well as the international court of justice. Another chapter to be added to the Geneva process.

Ex.CJ Sarath Silva has used very strong words indeed. MR should be thankful he did not use the words ‘ Hena gahapuden’, considering the emotive nature of his speech. The first sign of MR’s desire to enjoy unbridled power, was when he ignored the Supreme Court’s ( then headed by Sarath Silva) direction to reduce fuel prices! The ‘ Best man’ (at MR’s wedding) has turned out to be his ‘Worst man’ ! CJ Sarath Silva led Supreme Court also ordered the road blocks and check points in Colombo be removed, and Tamils who had sought refuge in Colombo be not sent back to the east. Sarath Silva also enabled MR to contest for the presidency the first time by absolving him of misappropriating Tsunami funds. He calls it a mistake now. Sarath Silva probably knows more than we do about MR and his ways and we know a lot!

His endeavour is to become the common candidate and then the President which office eluded him on the last occasion as Fonseka was thrust at the very last moment. Make no mistake, Silva is a maniac out to destroy any one who is opposed to him which he did whilst holding the office of A.G. & C.J.(take the case of Shirani Bandaranayake). Fully agreed with this comment, without any reservation.
These guys appear time to time push the elections toward Sinhala Intellectuals direction to make sure it produces only Sinhala racist governments. These types of law manipulators to elections are the real descendants of DS, to manipulate votes by handing law, rather than honestly contesting in election. That is why from 1948 only racist governments are able to come to power. This mad dog can see only 18A, but not the havoc has happened to the country. He is not allowing others to win the election. He is pushi
He ruled ICC should not get involved in Lanka. He ruled Chandirka should lose one year. He wanted MPs to cross to SLFP. He shared on the tsunami fund and gave verdict toward who stole with him in partnership. God saved the Sinhala Buddhist from his tyranny in the Supreme Court.

the minority tamils and muslims would be better off not voting and let the majority fight it out and do some work for a change and feel the effect of what they are actually made of.As it is passa is coming into power by the bullet like zero casualty.
Then the chances of IC and the new prince at UNHCR would get the whole lot and give everyone a sensible solution.
Ofcourse by next year UK and Canada would have their elections too and if both come back there would be instant hell fire- see how putin ran and now he realizes that his weapon to shut the gas supply to Europe this winter is no weapon but would recoil.

Very apt words to describe the biggest thief and evil ruler Sri Lanka has ever seen.

I admire the courage of Sarath N. Silva.

He must be careful and know who is dealing with. Even the powerful Sarath Fonseka was made to languish in jail for a long period. Sarath Silva is nothing for the Mafia family if they think that he is stepping out of line.

The least he can expect is contempt of court though the supreme court has been reduced to a kangaroo court.

I wish Sarath Silva is the common candidate. At least he has a backbone compared to RW and his ilk.

There were many people in this country who applauded when we ditched the Privy Council and chose the ultimate arbiter of justice as our own
Supreme Court when we hurriedly became a Republic – a charade with which Tamils distanced themselves with in that illegal Constituent Assembly. The country will now see that it was not the Tamils who were defrauded when the Kodeeswaren Case, where the Privy Council was convinced the then GoSL was playing politics with the Constitution. The learned gentleman judges of the Privy Council referred the matter to the Ceylon Courts – an unprecedented step. Mrs. B’s Ministers may have patted themselves on their backs that in sending the Kodeeswaren’s case to the cold storage the interest of the Sinhala nation will be served. What we see now is the folly of that action.
The bitter truth is we are not adult enough to govern ourselves according to the Laws. What works today is the Law of the Jungle and no less a person than a former CJ, well versed with the law, says that.
Sri Lankan justice that was held in such high esteem in the years gone by is now being laughed at – universally. That we now have 2 Chief Justices simultaneously is in itself a slight on our reputation.

Mother Lanka, we weep for thee. Your major troubles are just beginning.

This guys will go down in history as the person who ruined a nation and instigated and installed a corrupt regime .

    1. Helping Hambanthota

    2. Approving cross overs ( only country in the world this happens)

These are two are the factors which lead to Sri Lanka to the path where its today….. Too much of blood has been spilt because of these politicians…. Racialism is at its peak…… Karma is knocking on the doors of the people who were behind all this grave crimes that humanity has seen….

Two bodies were floating in the river ( brings back memories )

This would probably be the last chance for the human beings in Sri Lanka to rise up against these criminals and there by get some retribution from their respective Gods.

If not please hand over the government to the animal kingdom to rule as thats the path that Sri lanka is moving towards. ( Jungle law ).

I like the verdict. If buffoons like Silvas think that they can appoint an EP and they can dismiss an EP even after they had left the court, then what kind of comedy county is Lanka? Sinhala Intellectual should read what they sow. If they keep saying Pirabhaharan brought the King, then very good; even after he is gone, his deed is still pricking the Sinhala Intellectuals. None of them so far said they want a secular government. Even the Ranil foxy is quoting from Buddhist scripts how extreme Buddhist will his ruling be. He looks like he going to declare he is Sinhala Buddhist to become an EP.

It is nice to here the EX CJ speak well of JRJ. I think that the fundamental problem Sri Lankans have is that they cannot appreciate the qualities of a good and honest leader. There is a blindness to the consequences of using petty jealousy to guide whom they vote and support. There is a reason MR referred to him self as the Gamme Baiya even though he cannot call him self that anymore. It is because our Sinhalese have a mindset of identifying with the Gamme Baiya and voting for him. So people like JRJ and RW not good must be treated with suspicion. But MR = Game Baiya good man can be trusted even if he shoots them in the face. Until the Sinhalese grow up and get educated enough to understand these differences there will be no proper resolution to these problems because they are self inflicted due to stupidity. It is a noble cause to fight for justice and I wholeheartedly support the efforts of the opposition but I often wonder if their best efforts will be negated due to the moronic nature to the Sinhalese voters.

MR is simply a pingona type personality. Just because of those estranged astrologists ask him to contest, should a leader follow that kind instructions ? Where has that pervous Jackson Anthony who always spoke about the boast of Rajapakshe. His speeches made Rajapakshes a king for the nation whose rural poor are struggling for their lives. With much hope only these people agreed with Raja though they themselves believed one time Tsunami funds embezzler would again abuse them to the core. Anyway, many of the people seem to have satuarated of the blant lies being spread in order Rajapakshes to stay in power. People become clear that Rajaapkseh want to stay in power by using all tricks.

the fact that people who knowledgeable know what is happening , what about the majority of gullible masses ? these vulnerable people’s votes are on the line , who is going to tap in to that vast “floating votes” base ? definitely not Ranil or sajith ,then who can do the job ?

    Silva,

Go couple of years back while you were wearing the same shoes.
Do you remember how you let mahinda ‘escape’ from ‘Helping Hambantota’?
If you had done your job at that time, we wouldn’t (including you) suffer from this Henahora and Hora.
If Maharaja gives all the privileges you enjoyed at the time of your tenure as CJ now, you will just shut your bloody mouth and go.
We, common Sri Lankans, see no difference in you, CBK or MaRa all ‘Horas’ to us !!!!
    Suba Anagathayak !!!

Did not Sarath Silva realize the true evil of Mahinda Rajapakse until only two years ago ?

After all they were bosom pals for 50 years. They were Pals when MR was a southern politician and Sarath was a high ranking State Counsel. They were pals when Sarath Silva was CJ and MR was PM. They were pals when CJ Sarath Silva was caught with his pants down with a girl young enough to be his daughter in a swamp near the parliament. They were pals when Sarath Silva as CJ heard the case of his pal MR (in the fraud case of Saving Hambantota)

Sarath Silva then said that he was the only judge in the world who can rise above the principles of bias, conflict of interest ,political affliations, and hearing his own friends cases ! I think Sarath Silva is far more evil than MR. Sarath Silva is the devil disguised as a human being. He is a destroyer of institutions, principles, families and human beings.

I cannot understand how the JVP which moved a motion of no-confidence on Sarath Silva when he was CJ is now bringing him forward as a worthy man whose opinion should be listened to !

Come on opposition, please get your act together.

obvisaly you can’t think out of the box , every body knows Ex CJ is the root cause for the current mayhem , but if the same person coming forward to ouster his bosom pal , why not ? by all means , yes ! we all srilankans have had enough of this corrupt family !!

PS : just imagine the opposition for MR without Ex CJ and ven Rathana or JVP ! can Ranil address the majority of rural grass eating populace ?

MR has already thought outside the box with his Hindian counterparts and it is with their blessings he informed the Hindu.

Ever thought why he is contesting 2 years ahead of the second term??

The nation needs a full fix because it has proved to be incapable of protest to bring down a government as any other country does.

MR winning would create that environment for a fix by democratic forces now that Putin the mongolian is flat out and Xi would not let the Hindians interfere because he has much to loose from the west.

CJ Peiris is a class act in comparison to this ex…

Is this the calibre of people , the Elite and the Intelligentsia appointed to the highest court ?..

And want as their President ???

If he uttered shit like this in public, in a place like Singapore, he would have to spendl even the ill gotten cash which may be stashed .to avoid spending his retirement in the slammer..

I f the UNP takes the JHU on board, that,s it .it spells the end of the minority UNP vote base. The JHU and the BBS and the other racists groups are there to scuttle the boat and not to steer it to safety.Though Chandrika is not a safe candidate at least she can woo the minority towards her.Ranil does only lip service and is not a strong minority vote puller,Premadasa senior had all on board, but the junior too will scuttle the chances of a victory ,and he is already doing it,through Mr.
So there is no one who can be a wanted president to ALL Srilankans ,Tamils Sinhalese Muslims Christians Malays.Srilanka will bleed.

Sarath Silva is himself a total crook.
His regime as CJ was when justice was totally subverted.
It is alleged that he used criminals for his own nefarious ends.
If he had been taken in as a minister
and given all the perks, he would have
been much happier. Where did he
    mess up?

    If ex-CJ was now CJ
    He’d sing a different song
    If CJ was now ex-CJ
    He’d say MR was wrong

    All bloody rogues

Quote “Former Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva during an emotional speech today described President Mahinda Rajapaksa as ‘a harbinger of evil’ (Henahura) who has made a thundering blow against the law of Sri Lanka and added that this attack will surely boomerang.”

What are you Sarath Silva? A KUPADIYA AND A Sc.m of manupilator??…..
Then, what was your close association with “BEDDEGANA SANJEEWA” the criminal ?????????????
What was this Criminal doing in your Offices during CBK’s rule??

YOU TOO WERE A HENAHURA FOR THE COUNTRY………..
Moreover, remember the people have not pardoned you.

You have no moral right to speak against MR because you too were one time a responsible person for Law and Order in the Country, who FAILED MISERABLY…….

Isn’t there an old saying, ‘Set a thief to catch a thief’. I suppose in somewhat similar way, it takes one ‘Henahura’ to identify another of that species. What the country seems to be paying for seems to be for the sins of both these fellows!

like he did before when thoppi passa visited him and put arm around – its was golden memories of their romances.
we saw the same when modawansa was on hunger strike at the un and thoppi raising him from the dead.

So like the street show gamayas will try to hoodwink the land of gamayas about a better situation if if if.;)

The CJ Sarath Silva calling Rajapakse a “henahura” and a “hora” is like the pot calling the kettle black. These two are so black it is hardly distinguishable. Sarath Silva was once upon a time MaRa’s best friend and given out some ropey judgements favouring MaRa. He may cry foul now, but the people have not forgotten what he did, when he was the darling of the Rajapakses.
