I believe there were large scale civilian casualties occured in the last phase of the brutal war against Ltters. But the stories connected to the pics of Bala murdered – can only be proved if they can prove Balchandren was in the millitary custody. There are numbers of pics manipulated by tamil Diasphora and easily found in the web. So long much closer evidences to prove the authetification of the pic are available, nobody would be easy to categorically say this boy was deliberately shot. Everyone can bring forensic specialists but their views are sofar very subjective

As for Jayantha’s comment that China has over 300 Billionaires, I wonder how this is possible in a country that did away with Capitalists and Capitalism where everything was State owned? It is those Poor Politicians who came forward to eradicate poverty that have become Billionaires just like in this country. Rag to riches stories are common in former communists countries. Right political connections help these people to attain capitalist Nibbana.
India’s social problems are out in the open and since it is sham democracy people work around the problem, bribe is socialised therefore people know exactly how much they need to pay as rent to access everything. The Indians accept it as part of their Karma and put up with it. Any mass movement that has popular support eventually fizzles out not because it is a wrong cause but the establishment uses good old British tactics divide and rule. Therefore India will survive.
China has huge socio economic issues ready for next revolution. Knowing Chinese party’s hold on the people, I am afraid if and when Chinese spring dawns it would be a bloody one.

What Benefactors we have as Guardians in the new World Order. These are the buggers who are Billionaires today, who volunteered to eradicate poverty in society. Rajapaksas are no different, as fifty years ago the family had no wealth. Today the Rajapaksa family is the richest in this country.

Thank you Native for the info. What I want to say is……how qualified these Indian politicians are. No wonder India is doing well with a Billion people to feed every day and night.
I was listenening to India’s Budget speech yesterday and was shocked to hear how knowledgeable their Minister of finance is. I don’t know his name….but he is a wizard both in facts and figurs and forecasting.
I felt ashamed to compare…………both countries…..our neighbor.
I believe in order to develop one has to follow and learn from these developped countries. China developped only after following western economies and now have over 300 Billioners (in US $)
Everbody cannot be Doctors, or Engineers or Lawyers. Give the business and trade to to the people who are qualified in that field………like the West….and East.
Let the Govt.take care of service sector sharing with private sector.

A debate no one won. A debate that diminished Dr. Subramaniam Swamy. A debate in which Dr Naganathan was made a prompter to Arnab Goswami, the chair. A debate which Goswami ,the chair, was trying to steer in the direction he wanted, using an emotive tone, tenor and words. There was excessive theatrics from Goswami. It was a debate where Goswami decided to be on the side of one debater. It was on the whole a lost opportunity to present a clear, clinically analysed case by both sides.
It in effect proved that it is a case that cannot debated sensibly or proven beyond reasonable doubt.

while arnab goswami has a penchant for loud talking that does not diminish the debate.i atill wonder why swamy is taking cudgels on behalf of srilankan government or rajapakshe.swamy’s contention that balachandar could have been a child soldier and hence he needs to be treated as a combatant instead of civillian does not pass the muster.no doubt that ltte conscripted children and it also committed gross human rights violation.but tamil tigers are different from srilankan army latter has more responsibility than an armed group.hence i feel that if srilankan government thinks that it has nothing to hide should accept international enquiry may be in the process even tamil tigers image will get tarnished due to its forced conscription of children and its killing of tamil civvies who tried to cross over to army side.;ets hope for the best.

Looks like the Lawyers Association in Madurai have called for
physical attacks on Swamy – in addition to calling upon the TN Govt not
to permit him to enter Tamilnadu soil. How the latter can be implemented is not known because Swamy is a Tamilnadu man with legal grounds for a presence in Madurai as well. Lawyers asking for the riff-raff to attack a political leader, lawyer to boot, is utterly irresponsible.
There is speculation Swamy has managed to mitigate the potential tough stand against the Rajapakse Govt in Geneva, in which case the Rajapakse’s also depending on him may pay off.
