Buddhist monk Gnansara was arrested on charges of contempt of court and was remanded till February 9 by the Homagama Magistrate.

It is time for the present government to make sure an ‘accident’ happens to this guy or maybe a ‘heart attack’ (perfect timing now that this crook is in the Welikada prison). Or conspire to have this crook along with the rest of the thugs on a doomed aircraft (our friends from Israel would be happy to loan a drone). Too bad the previous regime knowing that this crooked monk was funded by the right wing Tamil diaspora did not do anything about it. They had many opportunities and also were well capable of doing something like what I suggest. Perhaps, they thought they could manipulate the situation? God knows best. This is how business needs to be done if the country is to be developed. Folks, you need to look at the greater good. It is tough for nation building if a regime has to deal with these types of goons along with the innate corruption (which you will not be able to eliminate quickly – in time perhaps). I hope the present jokers (Mr. Bean and Gajaman) are able to do something about this crooked monk or the ugly head of communalism would rise (God forbid if this crook is accidentally ‘martyred’). If that were to happen, this country will be going to the sinkhole of history as a weak, failed nation – allowing the right wing Tamil diaspora to wage a new Eelam war and an ISIS inspired goon war in the East. My thought is that Mahinda wants to get back in the game, he will use any tools available to get a competitive advantage. Be it the use of ‘ape hamuduruwo’ to show affinity to the uncritical, the gullible segment of the Sri Lankan population to gain support. This is for all those people who call them selves Buddhists. The way you are behaving is exactly what non Buddhists want. They revel ay your comments. You are doing a job that they would love to do but are afraid to do.
Rev Gnanasara has behaved in a highly outrageous manner. There is no doubt about that. But is it up to us to insult him and call him by all sorts of names? We should not sit in judgement of one of our priests whatever he has done. There is the judiciary of the country and the prelates there to do that.
He is wearing the saffron robe and we should respect the robe. Of course not all of us are experts like Sharmini Serasinghe to know exactly what the internal details of a saffron robe are. But a saffron robe is a saffron robe – period.
Also, we do not have the qualifications and experience that privileged lay people like Sharmini have in disrobing monks, errant or otherwise. So we should leave such tasks to the leaders of the Maha Sangha and not behave like a lynch mob or a disrobing mob.
To subject a person in saffron robe to such severe verbal attacks is unworthy of Buddhists. Anyway it is not going to correct him. Those who do that are committing a great Akusala Karma and are destined for all kinds of punishments. Even if you do not believe in such things – it is not a fair thing or a sane thing to do.

I have lot to say about this drama. But what i can say now is all these recent incidents are link together and orchestrated by same elements who ruin the country back in dark era. It is very clear and can prove with evidence. It looks like the Judge has been threatened by the Yahapalanaya Government and the Rowdy monks. Earlier a news said Ranil had requested to send a report of what happened in Homagama to Wildlife Sanctuary’s Ayatollahs. Homagama Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake is resigning from the case after a stand off of ‘even if a was gun put on his head he would not reverse the verdict he gave out’.
But there were news that Ayatollahs had said that Gnanasara had done what due from to the country.
May I ask a question from the Royal Government Prime Minister.
“What in the world made you to refer a case under court to Ayatollah’s?” Can you show me a legal precedent for this?

At last justice prevailed. Hats off to homourable Magistrate of Homagama Courts. He has dispensed justice rightfully. This should serve as a lesson to all that no one is above law. Ganasara cant be Buddhist Monk. He doesnt even have any looks of a monk.
Now the Government should look in to the incedent happened during the last regime In Mannar Magitrate Courts.
The people responsible should be dealt with according the law whatever the position they may hold

I hope the magistrate orders that he should remain remanded until he apologises to the court. I remember watching US Court cases in which when relatives of victims get overheated and disrupts proceedings, they are jailed until they apologise to the Court.

These two categories have had always thought that the Law of the Land does not apply to them.

He is even not here, but enjoying himself in the prison hospital, but he has been able to wind up the bile of virtually every blogger in this column, making them lose few minutes of their precious lives due to seething anger. Now multiply it by several thousands of groups of citizens, estimate how much negativity and loss of life that he is causing even without raising a finger. How?
He does not have to do anything. The media does it all for him. He gloats on the publicity he is getting because through that he could stir up millions people’s bile producing organs. See how much negativity he has, that he is sowing it everywhere, with the help of the press and multimedia.
In that case what is the antidote to this negativity. People want peace and no probes to touch their sensitive organs.
