Sri Lanka’s former ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, who is currently evading an issued Interpol red warrant notice for his arrest, was seen in Dubai attending the Presidential hopeful candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa‘s election campaign named Eliya yesterday.
Earlier on the 16th of October 2016 a red warrant notice was issued by the Colombo Fort Magistrate seeking Interpol’s assistance for his arrest.
This was due to the alleged involvement and financial fraud committed by Weeratunga during the purchase of several MiG Aircraft for the Air Force during former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s term. As Chief Account Officer Gotabaya had paid a sum amounting to US $ 10 million to an account belonging to a bogus company in UK named Billimissa Holdings.
Despite the issuing of an Interpol red warrant for his arrest, Udayanga Weeratunga continues to travel the world freely.
He was in fact once met by his first cousin the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Bangkok Thailand. (By Janaka Ranaweera)

I think that the reason why the Interpol don’t catch Udayanga b’cos he is protected by both FSB (frmerly KGB) & the CIA. FSB b’cos he is on its payroll and CIA as a part of a deal it has with GoRa to get a US base on SL soil in return for presidential pardon if get convicted. US knows that it can’t get bases from UNP Gvt. Therefore, they prefer to work with the bird they already have in their hand!

“Interpol” failed to arrest Uduanga Weeratunga who is on a “Red Alert” warrant. Our own Police failed to arrest “:Zaharan ” living within our country, who was also on “TOW OPEN WARRANTS”. Our own Acting Chief of “TID” said this before the Parliamentary Select Committee. He said: Although several “Teams” were deployed to arrest Zaharan, he “Escaped Shrewdly”. In “Udayang” case, he moves in Luxury hotels with “Dignitaries” (the saffron clothed, now identified to be “Rev. Medagoda Abeyatissa and another “Wizard” Ajith Naval Cabral) and in comparison this “Zaharan” “Escapes Shrewdly”. Who is “BETTER” in operating “Arrests”? In my opinion, “Interpol” is “Below Expectations” while our “Police” is “Above Expectations”, because they at least “Conducted” several operations. Be “Happy”, Sri Lanka “Shins” above “Interpol”.
