At last with very many expectations for a better life in this country, seven decades have been spent on “experiments” and the final stage has been reached to make a CHANGE to come out of the “MIRAGE” that we have been “LED”, by those on whom we depended. In a way, we are fortunate to have been able to clearly “Distinguish” ; “Identify” and “Classify” all those GROUPS to whom we entrusted our destinies into ONE GROUP who appeared to us in wearing varying faces and dresses. This ONE GROUP made up of “singles” or “groups” (coalitions) have disappointed and failed us and we are at the brink of losing everything that can be called “OUR” by means of economic, social, and political. The question now before us is : Where do we go from here and What shall we do to at least escape a disaster? The answer is a CHANGE. To take that PLUNGE, we need a “SPRING BOARD” or a RAFT without which no social group could achieve any appreciable results. To me in that sense, the only “Alternative” that can be used at this critical moment is none other than JVP. This political party has come a long way while learning from failed experiments and apologetically chosen a better and a practical path of “Discipline”; “Cultured” and “No Nonsense” management style that we urgently need as at date to avoid that disaster. We look forward to make use of this ALTERNATIVE for that CHANGE.

Thank you first off ! Your first question shows you are still in the
seventies and late eighties . If you think that it is JVP’s past that
would govern you , what makes you not coming to the same
conclusion of UNP , SLFP and SLPP ? Are they not coming back to
rob you and me ? JVP apologised many times for their past and the
situation now is not the same . They are already part and parcel of
of multi-party system , an outstanding voice in the parliament on
behalf of the whole country but with a tiny number . Please read
it clearly , I explained how rogue trading will disappear. I believe
JVP have people friendly policy and that will provide market access
to local farmers to sell their products for better prices which will
either reduce or eliminate the role of third party exploitation !
Between farmer and the consumer stands a trader who is pushing

I don’t think that JVP is still in it’s 80s mindset. I do believe they have evolved but to be a worsened form of it’s former self. This is not our beloved JVP who stood up for the foreign imperialism and nationalism. What we see today is party which promotes the outdated ideologies of liberal lefties.
Of course UNP, SLFP and SLPP will rob us again. But, what is important is their overall policy towards this country. Among all I prefer SLPP for their nationalist, center left policies and their overall view on the global economy. They can rob us millions of rupees. But for me Sri Lanka is worth more that millions or rupees.
Just as you I also want to see the demise of these rouge traders specially in rice market. But, your suggestion seems little far fetched. The problem is that these middlemen would buy from local farmers the price they demand if necessary. Then they stock these rices and let the price soar sky high. I think it is better to do something about the rice storing thing.
UNP is a friend of international community? Well I don’t see that is the case. In 1986 UNP then leader (JRJ) declared that “we have no friends” in his famous UN speech against UNHR resolution for Sri Lanka. Do you honestly believe that friends like that would come to our aid now? So far none of the so called international friends have to come to support Ranil and My3. Hope they might turn up before our economy falls far below than where we are right now.
Indirect foreign intervention brought the end of LTTE? Then why the heck these so called international friends of ours trying so hard to prosecute us for the war crimes? Even US don’t consider terrorist to have human rights. So why should we care?

A party which suffered under both governments (1971 & 1987 to 1990) JVP should be concerned about war crimes and crime against humanity. On the contrary they are keeping mum on the perpetuating state and institutions which committed inhumane unspeakable crimes since 1971. There were three commissions which investigated 30,000 cases and identified perpetrators, later commissions were abruptly folded and charges were never brought against the perpetrators.

Bond scam and other crimes are incidental to other major issues. Excessive power enjoyed not only by President, primeministers, MPs, state institutions, political parties, …. which not only leads to impunity and injustice, the way the state is structure corruption, crime, nepotism ….. continues to perpetuates. Therefore accountability at all level is urgently needed. The only way to achieve all these public goods are to have the state restructured and powers devolved all the way to the smallest of the democratic institutions. Instead they go on on how under their socialist system the party believes corruption, discrimination, nepotism, favoritism, …. would be things of the past. And they sincerely want us to believe/trust them given that when they were sleeping with Dr Mahinda how they supported his regime, broke law, campaigned for war, and previously opposed Provincial Councils.

Is there a thing called “free economy” where any person or a country produces on a demand supply basis and “Freely” exchange. If that system is “Available”, I have no problem; but with all the “Restrictions” such as “GSP”; “Taxes”; “Duties”; “Ecological” restrictions etc.., do you still believe in a “Free Economy”. Did you by any chance read the Foreign Exchange Control Act No. 12 of August 2017 that repealed the then existing Act No. 24 of 1953? One information I would like to give as regards this “New Act” could be of some interest to you. It provides that if there is any “violation” that has not been “prosecuted” during the next 6 months of that Act coming to force i.e. November 2017, all such charges would be dropped. There goes the trick – our ex Minister of Finance has been let off the hook. That will also open the doors wide open to all those “Criminals” of the MR regime to go free. Please remember it was JVP who demanded that vote by name and that is records of the Parliament . Please go through the names of those who said “YES” and “NEY”. People should use their franchise to carefully select the right candidate from their favourite party ,not become a garden lizard changing colors ,remember a party who did that once ago and behaved like hooligans attacking placards ! ? History repeats ,but we can end it.
After good men and women of all parties have been voted in ,let a group
get together and form a hybrid alliance in every local government and be it with the opposition too. Like the US Congress.
Remember Socialism and Communism are both wonderful on paper and to be listen to ,but never will be successful to put in into practice ,I will take the whole nation on a platter on it .
Instead ,please give a sincere endorsement to Social democracy . That is the only system that will work for us. Don’t be too arrogant or egoistic. Invite some wise members from Sweden,seek advice from them how they did it and ask them to guide you ,Invite Berny Sanders with Red Carpet and seek advice from this noble man about social democracy.
Suggesting Nelson Mendala and Obama ,is like comparing apples and oranges they are both fruits but not same ,wrong comparison for Sri Lanka.
This is something our beloved President need to do ,talk to members of all parties get their advice’s ,consult and invite asap members of Swedish Parliament and Mr.Berny Sanders ,seek advice .
