What Is Unfolding Today Was Reported By Colombo Telegraph On January 12

Although many Yahapalanaya supporters may be shocked now that President Maithripala Sirisena has given nominations to Mahinda Rajapaksa, it was correctly reported by Colombo Telegraph on the 15th of Janaury 2015, quoting close sources, that the Maithripala / Mahinda combination had in fact agreed to a secret pact prior to Rajapaksa handing over the Chairmanship to Maithripala at the residence of the speaker.

Even though President Maithripala denied the fact that any agreement was made then, it was rightly exposed by Colombo Telegraph that the agreement was two fold. The first was that the current President Maithripala not take action against any one of the ‘Rajapaksa clan’ and that the former President would be permitted to contest the General Elections.

On January 15th, we reported as follows;

Despite his initial struggle to remain as the SLFP Chairman, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has agreed to resign from the position and hand it over to to President Maithripala Sirisena. His agreement to hand over the position to President Sirisena has been due to a deal that he has been trying to make in order to halt the inquiries into the corruptive and undemocratic acts committed by the Rajapaksas and members of his regime. He had also requested that he be given the chance to contest at the upcoming general elections.

Also what is unfolding today is the advice that Basil Rajapaksa gave his ousted big brother the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa which was also exposed by Colombo Telegraph on the 12th January 2015, barely three days after being ousted. In that expose titled ” Basil Tells Mahinda: Allow UFA to Support Maithri“, is where the former Economic Minister strategically advises the former President not to scuttle with the new President, but rather support him in his first few days of claiming office. This advise was more in order to get closer to the new President and claim him to be a SLFP man and in seeking avenues in elbowing out the United National Party.

On January 12th, we reported as follows;

Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has urged his brother and defeated President Mahinda Rajapaksa to allow the UPFA to extend support to new President Maithripala Sirisena.

Basil, who is one of the main strategists of the Rajapaksa camp has urged his brother not to scuttle President Sirisena’s first days in office since it would be more tactical to claim the new President as a SLFP man and try to make a comeback that way.

Although Mahinda wants to return to Parliament when the session reopens on January 19 Basil is urging his brother to play a tactical game and allow the party to align with Sirisena and elbow out the UNP. Once the SLFP supports Sirisena in full the Sirisena presidency will become a SLFP presidency and it will boost the party’s chances at the general election in April 2015.

With an SLFP presidency most government institutions will once more be in the hands of a blue party man, is Basil Rajapaksa’s thinking.

Basil Rajapaksa’s calculation is that when the constitution is changed and a parliamentary model of governance is adopted, Mahinda Rajapaksa can contest as SLFP leader win the election and become Prime Minister. With executive powers of the presidency abolished by then, Sirisena would have less control that Rajapaksa in the parliamentary system.

    CT,

RE: What Is Unfolding Today Was Reported By Colombo Telegraph On January 12

“The first was that the current President Maithripala not take action against any one of the ‘Rajapaksa clan’ and that the former President would be permitted to contest the General Elections.”

    Very revealing.

So, Maitripala Sirisena is part of the Family of Crooks.

It makes sense, because he was stopping some arrests.

Sirisena’s true colors are revealed now.

Another tit bit was that Sirisena had stated that he did want to be another Wijetunga. Looks like he will have to have the UNP as the Prime Minister Party.

MaRa MaRa Chatu MaRa Amana MaRa Running Circles around Gon Sira..

Is it Gon Sira or Gon Matra? We will soon know.

Now the People with Common sense need to decide.

The Problem is that the Average IQ of Sri Lanka is 79, and those who voted for MaRa around 65.

Is it a trap and trick to trap Mahinda Rajapaksa for the second time?

What is the need to save a 70 year old Corrupt Crook, liar and Criminal?

    President
As president, Wijetunga set about his work in his own simplistic, inimitable fashion. After the authoritarian Premadasa, Wijetunga ushered in a more political free era.

His rule also coincided with the rise of Chandrika Kumaratunga within the ranks of the SLFP. For some of the elite the daughter of two Prime Ministers was a refreshing contrast to the humble village peasant in President Wijetunga.

He did not believe that peace could be achieved by negotiating with the LTTE. His rather hawkish approach to the ethnic conflict also made him unpopular especially among the minorities who traditionally backed his party. The Eastern Province was liberated from the LTTE during his tenure except Thoppigala.

After a decisive defeat in the Southern Provincial Council Election in 1994, he dissolved parliament prematurely in June that year, in a desperate bid to stem the rising wave of popularity of Chandrika Kumaratunga.

However his party was defeated in the 1994 general election and Wijetunga graciously appointed Kumaratunga as Prime Minister. Even though under the constitution, Wijetunga was bestowed with wide powers, he wisely chose not to exercise much authority, letting the Prime Minister manage the affairs of the country.

He decided not to contest the presidential election and he appointed Lucky Jayawardena as the organizer for his electorate udunuwara. He relinquished office in November 1994 after Kumaratunga was elected President by an unprecedented majority. His political career was Succeeded by Lucky Jayawardena(MP).

Yahapalanaya is all about Ranil trying to grab the power through the back door with the help of few malicious western countries, nothing more to it. This !@&# deserve capital punishment for the things he is doing against the country.

People will get another opportunity soon, hope they will remember the saying “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”

So you did, dear CT, but no one took any notice amid the turmoil.
Today Sri Lanka is at the cross roads again.
The coming elections will be mostly SLFP versus UNP.
If SLFP wins, MR will be PM and Chamal from Hambantota will again be speaker.
Only God can save Sri Lanka.

I hope the voters will vote mainly for new faces rather than for the old rogues – MR’s minions.

    Mr. President,

I don’t believe in you any more. You say “Swindlers will be born as dogs” (Today’s daily mirror)and then you give nominations to MR and his Abaramaya cabal. Haven’t you given thought to how you swindled 6.2 million votes on a false promise to us in Jan 2015????????

    Congratulations CT. This is correct.

UNP is largely responsible for the current situation. They undermined the good governance policy of the President by the Central Bank Bond issue, selective investigations into corruption by FCID through PMs office etc and also scuttled the implementation of 20A thereby pushing President Sirisena to a corner.

A senior SLFP Minister recently stated the reality – The UNP robs the country more and it is better to give nominations to MR & the clan and control them as leader of the UPFA rather than having association with an uncontrollable UNP.

UNP leadership also lacks foresight to look at the Macro scale scenario (the big picture). All their efforts were targeted to get back power through the back door.

If the UNP had its way with the 19A the President, at present, would have nominal power and MR could have returned as a `monster’ a very powerful executive PM. JHU should be congratulated for stopping that attempt.

Further if the 20A was not scuttled there was a better chance for President Sirisena to nominate non corrupt professionals etc for individual electorates.

However unfortunately UNPs actions during last six months were short sighted and self centered rather than for the benefit of the country and they will probably have to face the repercussions for their actions.

Our President is so dynamic that no one knows where his allegiance is at a given moment, so unpredictable that one can try anything with him. What he has been saying and what is he doing?. HE is not a SLFP President but made to be one. When he heads some 40 odd thieves, it is inevitable of becoming a Ali-baba. 6.2M voters astounded!

The people decided on 8th January 2015. They are sovereign. Do we not all agree their decision was correct. Unlike in other countries, power passed peacefully. And that is essential. Let us all have faith on our people. They will decide again on 17th August 2015,let us all make it a peaceful day for them. because they are the oppressed and are the ones who are suffering in spite of all our pandithayas are saying. Believe in the Dharma, it will protect ud all.

    why we make a foregone conclusion. What are the odds of;
    a) Mahinda losing in Kurunegala?
    b) a premature coup within SLFP before Aug 17th that can create chaos?
    c) smaller parties combined has an edge over the big two?
d)an error in the nomination papers that disqualify MR altogether from elections
e)kicking out MR before or after elections…. and more
karma come back to haunt. Lets see what happens. Please don’t give up

These guys are sitting on eggs – it will not hatch…

People are fedup of SLFP, MY3 let them down by giving in to nominate MR. The UPFA supporters have lost confidence in MR. Now that the shephard has lost its sheeps, they have turned towards the UNP; for sure the greens are benifitting off this mess. I have noticed in Kandy today, the SFLP organisers office in D.S. Senanayake Veediya, was open for UNP. So this is one eye opening issue… GOOD LUCK FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

During pre-colonial rule most of the Asian countries proved that they are not intelligent enough to look after their own countries – They are still veeraya , sooraya in their own village or in their own house or to bomb from far away and kill their own citizens – bloody shame to celebrate that killing, a big achievement. Those who hit wife is a coward , they hit because they can’t hit anyone outside. Likewise those who kill their own citizen are cowards. Now we all wonder, whether all the Singhalese are modias , can’t even find one Singhalese person with backbone to rule our country and revert back our old paradise. What happened to Jews long tine ago is happening to Tamils now – everything for Good.

First they came for Indian Coolies,
I did not speak out, Because I am not a coolie.
Then they came for North-east Kallaththonies,
I did not speak out, Because I am not a Kallaththony.
Then they came for the Kaaththankudy Kalu thambiya,
I did not speak out, Because I am not a Kalu Thambiya.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

-a poem by a Sinhala Buddhist double crossed by Sinhala intellectuals.

Well Ranil Mahata started the coup story in the Temple Tree House to save him from his promises he gave to Old King. Old King came out the temple Tree House and said he left the place because he had given a promise to Secretary Kerry. Secretary Kerry might have been very Happy to hear that, but he never would believe that this was a join plot by UNP Sinhala Intellectual and SLFP Sinhala Intellectuals.

New King gave a promise to Chandrika. Chandrika gave a promise to American diplomats. American diplomats gave a promise to TNA. TNA gave a promise to Tamils and asked them to vote and bring New King. Tamils did it. Now New King has honored the promise he gave to Old King and for Chandrika. She has left London. American Officials has signed another GSP + for New King.

The next election has come. TNA starting again with another “Within three months solution after the election”. They do not want to talk about the “three months plus another 10 days that is 100 days promise” in the last election. There are Sinhalese accepting they were duped by the new King. But American Officials has signed another GSP + for New King. Secretary Kerry is taking time to accept in the congress that America once again duped. He is new to Sinhala Intellectualism. But why the TNA not telling the Tamils at least this time, they have been duped?

Sirisena will go down in history as betrayer “-Peace Lover.

No…no…no. Sirisena is a SLFP’er just like Mahinda.
If Mahinda takes the Premiership, he will get Sirisena to contest the Second term as well him being PM.
China will pour the money for development.

Ranil the Authoritarian, Distator ruler of the UNP will go to his grave as the leader of the party UNP.
Because of selfish Ranil and UNP constitution the UNP can never come to power as there will be someone within who will hate Ranil and pull the party dowm
UNP downfall is Ranil. SO, DO NOT WASTE A VOTE FOR THE UNP AGAIN.

      bla bla blAbhaya

“Other than in 2005 – 2014 this has never happened to the betterment of the country “

Clan and cronies are not = to country.

Of course between 2005 – 2014 there was huge betterment for MR’s clan and cronies.

Again clan and cronies do not constitute the entire country.
