The CID informed courts today that former Minister Mervyn Silva had lied about making a complaint to the CID on white van abductions.

A State Counsel and a CID officer told Colombo Chief Magistrate that Silva had not made a complaint with CID over white van abductions implicating former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
The CID said that Silva had only given a letter but it was not a complaint. The letter also did not have and credible information, the CID said.
Following this revelation the Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered the CID to produce any documents given by Silva.
The Magistrate made the order when three Habeas Corpus applications filed by relatives of three missing people were taken up in courts.
They had urged the Court that a magisterial investigations be conducted based on revelations made by Silva.
Earlier Silva publicly accused the former Defence Secretary of been the mastermind behind the white van abductions which occurred during the former regimes time.

Leaving that aside, has the CID found the evidence of Vithiya’s murder case which the CID side attorney said on the court as destroyed and requested the judge Vidiya’s murder case has to be dismissed?

White Van abductions are well known fact to people of Srilanka irrespective of race, language and religion. Who ran this white Van abductions are well known to all. Unfortunately, the Sri Lanka armed forces and law enforcement forces and Government official do not know anything about abductions by white vans. It is like searching around the Globe to find the God (GOTA). Lord Buddha is real. Similarly Lord Gota is real. You cannot reach Lord Buddha. Similarly you cannot reach Gota.

all voters rally round to ask about the corruption and
many unlawful acts which the new comers alleged to have
happened during the previous regime. Nobody should be
let off the hook until all allegations proved.New regime

why do we need silva’s letters.Even if you speak to the most ardent supporters of the rajapakshes they will admit that gota was in charge of the white vans.
If the CID is relying on silva’s complaint to implicate gota,then they must be thinking that their fellow srilankans are village idiots.All the institutions should be given a thorough clean up removing the top fellows,because they were under the thumb of the rajapakshes for 10 long and brutal and corrupt years and now just like macbeth they cant go back even if they want to because “i’am in blood,steeped in it so far that returning would be more tedious than going over”.Got to look for the right people now to mann the top positions.

Is it that Mervyn the Vermyn made his statement, but the statement just disappeared? The CID officer may have been intimidated or even paid a handsome gift to lose the statement. It is quite normal in our Police Departments. It is not the truth that matters in our courts, but what is said to the judge and who is stating it. That is how they make black, turn into white. Judges do not probe the authenticity of what is said, the lawyers should, but we know the pedigree of our lawyers too…..the worst on earth! Hardly Perry Masons of great integrity!!!
