The first Chief Minister of the Northern Province Justice C.V. Wigneswaran will be sworn in before President Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo on Monday (7).

The oath-taking ceremony will take place at Temple Trees at 9 a.m.
The decision was made following a meeting of TNA Leader R. Sampanthan and President Rajapaksa at breakfast this morning.
The other TNA provincial ministers of the Northern Provincial Council will be sworn in before Chief Minister Wigneswaran on October 11.
The TNA had previously called on the President to administer Wigneswaran’s oath in Jaffna. However the President yesterday swore in the Central and North Western Province Chief Ministers at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

There is nothing to fight except the withdrawal of the national army/navy because the rest is embedded in the provincial councils but to run it they need the finances.
Don’t forget even in a federal system there is a national police, national land development authority over and above the provincial body and all foreign affairs by center only. This is where the bureaucracy comes in even in a decentralised setup.
