A woman claiming to have been a complainant at the FCID has told a Sinhala newspaper that former FCID Senior DIG Ravi Waidyalankara tried to rape her in his office in Fort one day.
In a interview with Aruna the Sinhalese newspaper run by the Derana group the woman, whose name Colombo Telegraph has decided to withhold for ethical reasons told a journalist that SDIG Waidyalankara had stripped in his office shoved her on a desk and ‘licked’ her all over.
In the Aruna interview she said Waidyalankara had chased her out of his office after she insulted him while he was in the nude and she had fled down the stairs. Officers at the reception had asked her what had happened and she told them to send their boss a glass of cool water she told the interviewer.
She claimed that SDIG Waidyalankara had obtained a bribe from the company she had lodged the complaint about to stall the investigation and also tried to sexually molest her.
She also told the newspaper that Ravi Waidyalankara had initially told her that her complaint had opened the door to a massive FCID investigation.
According to the newspaper report the woman has also lodged a complaint with the CID which is investigating SDIG Waidyalankara for corruption.
Waidyalankara was suddenly sacked from his position as head of the FCID when President Maithripala Sirisena decided to cancel his contract extension one month before it was scheduled to expire. Several agencies are investigating the former FCID boss for corruption and sabotage.

Shockingly enough, that the issue on the secondary school students in that institute should be caught by serious attention, but she has failed to do so. How come the kind of men be able to discharge student just because their parents failed to continue the payements as described above. Fee hikes of that nature create difficulties to some parents, which I think is normal, but there should be mutual discussions from both sides on the matter. If parents cant afford their children to get their education at RI or the like pvt institutions, they would not have started to go for it right ? And the fact that the fee -increase made by RI, obvioulsy not comparable to that of any other like minded institute (RI has done it annually while others bi-annually)
