Yoshitha Further Remanded

Yoshitha Rajapaksa, along with Nishantha Ranatunga, Rohan Weliwita and two others were ordered to be further remanded till March 24 by the Kaduwela Magistrate this morning.

Yoshitha

Yoshitha

Yoshitha, the second son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, is currently in remand custody along with Ranatunga, Weliwita, Ravinath Fernando and Kavishan Dissanayake for allegedly being involved in money laundering at the Carlton Sports Network (CSN).

Yoshitha, a Navy Lieutenant, is believed to have functioned as the Chairman of the private television channel. He has also been suspended by the Navy on an order issued by the Ministry of Defence.

Meanwhile, his bail application is scheduled to be taken up next week at the Colombo High Court.

Lankens that work for anti corruption and for a better society will hail the decisions.

More of them, regardless of their status – should be kept in jails to learn them and the nation a lesson.

In the same time, we also want the accident alleged to have almost deadly injurned one motor cyclist – is really done by Minister…
I hardly believe a minister of that kind woudl ever drive the vehicle by his own without any gurard to that time (late evening).

Those who are behind the incident – should be brought before the courts. Young men should be learnt a great lession – for their fture to be safe. Them to have own EXPENSIVE bikes should not the reasons them to do what they thought was right. These colombo kids shoudl be taught to behave well – then the future of the lanken youth would be fine.

      Law and Order.

Let the Law and the Constitution do its justice fir the people AND the accused.

They were remanded to prevent them from fleeing. However, they are innocent until proven guilty with real, uncorrupted evidence.

MR never thought that the law and the peoples power would U turn on him.

Had the man a brain the size of a needle head, he could have taught his offsprings, that the youth in their age all should have equal rights. At the breaking all laws but to please hand picked of so called afluent class ones they ran car races. Never ever we had the kind of era, not even the HIGH day of Premadasa.

I have no doubt, if things would go this way, we will have all the evidence to corner Rajapkshes along with their kith and kin for all the mess deliberately carried out during the last few years. Today, prevaricating but running all his underground agendas, the man still hopes his son would be given pardon – general pardon, no way the son will be back – a young life is gone to misery this way, just because of his father had no sense to the law ful way of life.
Had MR had the least knowledge on PREVAILING laws inthe country, he could nurture his sons to good levels.
CBKs two offsprings are said to have done nothing to harm her mothers or grand mothers or grand fathers respect. They had both been travelling by normal trams or having normal food, while going through to their colleges in the course of their education in the UK:

One genetle man added it few months ago, how the son of former president Chandrika offered his business class seat to a roll chair passenger and he himself sat in the economy class. The kind of acts I never heard from any of the MR sons. They only looted and behaved themselves as Rasthiyadu karayas.

        Donkey pakshe family.
Now their second native place has been the FCID.

No other leaders in all times, the family is asked to visit CID offices not just one single person of the family but all 5 are being interviewed.

In the days to come, with all revealations on THE murder, father mother and sons will have to see it by their own eyes, that the law and people s power are more powerful than they ever guessed at.
        There is nobody above law.

Anyone who lived abroad and paid a visit tohe country, saw not only HIGH ways or the placards sow of Rajaakshes, but high abuses from PUBLIC bus to anywhere you went.

Sinchuappu, we will also win the war against Corruption and HIGH abuses.

Even if we move slowly, the days ahead of us we will see how Rajapakshes becoming cornered within the soil they were born to.

No international courts, but for all high crimes to have swallowed THRILIONS OF FUNDS – he will have to go to lanken jails.

      Poor Yoshitha.

Even his daddy could not help him with his borrowed gown.

I am sure you are held in the luxury department of the prison. Enjoy the most while you are there.

Remember! The pendulum swings up and down. You are paying the price for what you did when you were up. It is a good lesson. If you get a chance to go up again, make sure you reflect the lessons you learnt.

I feel sorry for you putha.

Dankotuwe Manike, how can you be that sure of him being given a luxury cell ?Why was SF kept in the conditions no different to common prisoners ?
Here I would put the blame not on the young chap but on father and mother. Father behaved himself as no lanken laws can controll over him.. Remember the saga – where he quickly air lifted himslf by state Helicopter, at the time, one of his Kudu dealer cum MP was about to be arrested by police (I am telling about Lanza – one of the money pumpers to Raja et al… he had no concerns where money came from.. what matters was to gear up his PARTY campaign)

Please tell us – you may be a veteran to lanken prison conditions.

        Thanks – Rome

This stupid son -according to father should have done a great work for the lanken forces – but a lie for many- deserves life long imprisonment if allegations levelled to him in terms of Thajudeen murder.

In other countries, the parents teach their children to obey the and respect the law.

Mahinda Rajapaksa and his wife, as parents appear to have taught their Children not to obey the law ans respect the law, because they themselves did not respect the law and obey the law.

In a sense, the children are victims too.

Now it is too late, they need to pay the price. There have been tortured and dead bodies.

    2) Doing politics while wearing uniform.
    3) Misuse of Tax Payers Money.
    4) Abuse the Navy as if it was his personnel property.

My dear Friend, Srilal, pleased to see you here again:)

      My question is:

We are all aware of the fact that Rajaakshes are abusive by all means.
But even today, I have not seen any of the poweful Jornos got them to question in the areas where for example all the belows are done
      1) Falsifying his educational qualifications .
      2) Doing politics while wearing uniform.
      3) Misuse of Tax Payers Money.
      4) Abuse the Navy as if it was his personnel property.

      9) Tax evasion. 10) Abuse the President’s power.

Third force of any country is believed ot be the press.

Why the press men behave biased to Raja even today ?

Is that because they are fear of Rjapakashes ? and their underground men ?

Is that beacuase they themselves are goons in this country ?

RW quesitoned in parliamaemnt lately, why the journos dont do the job well ?

Why they support Rajapakshes on and on/ or any crime friendly men not supporting any good moves being done by current rulers ?

        Dear Friend Sirimal ,

The fact of the matter is , All most all the so called journalists of our country fall in to “Vasi patthahata hoiyya” syndrome category , except Janaranjana and very few , the rest is bunch of hypocrites in the highest order. take Shamindra ferdinando , Milinda S, CA chandraperuma et al , whose interests did/do they represent ? all most all of them were/are under the illusion of “Mahinda saved the country” mantara ;thus, they wanted us to follow their version of story , most of them were the direct beneficiaries of the Mafia rule . remember how Mafia king dashed out free laptops and interest free car loans to these hypocrites as if the treasury were Madamulana private property ?
it’s really disappointing to hear that MY3 also had recruited some of those 3 rd grade journoes of Mafia king i.e Lalith desilva .
So Sirimal , it would take few more years to get rid of those self serving journoes of ours , in the mean time we the vigilant civil society can highlight and expose those unscrupulous characters , remember how we undressed Dayan J ?

        Take care my friend.

Recommending himself to undergo flying training in SLAF when there was no real good reason, no RN operational requirement for one pilot to be trained, no perceptible selection process as to why he should be the best candidate for expensive training, and aiding and abetting SLAF commander to break the law of the country as well as military law through activities and illegal orders contrary to air force act. All these are Yoshitha’s fantasies made real using public tax payers money without proper control. Yoshitha must be interdicted for these crimes, and all those people, Navy, SLAF or MoD that were involved in this scam against the public should be charged and made answerable to the court. If not GO TO JAIL.

    AIYO!!!!’ Rajopakos !!!

The father and mother’s greed led to this for the first born and the second born.
These boys were innocent when they were born ? Were they not??

Who taught them all these tricks??? Plunder the state wealth, murder the innocent, All because the sons and the ruling parents did not like the other ? The enemy was snuffed out by the paid up coolies.
The greed to plunder the state , was the master mind of the parents and the siblings of the ruler.
    What were they thinking??
    The country is BANKRUPT!!

For god’s sake we follow the Theravada Buddhism and follow the 10 precepts of Lord Buddha,

Recent torture and killing of a bird of prey went viral on YouTube and the 2 culprits are charged with cruelty.
What about the Thero keeping the baby elephant chained in his walauuwe ?

My god where is our MahaSangha??
Are they all too old to put the wrongs right??
The country depends on the religion for all damn thing ……who is in charge of the humanity of the animals and the humans???
Is there anyone for the sake of our future generations to bring humanity in our country?? Teach them the rights.

The rich kids have started their Motor bike racing in Colombo again and creating havoc in crowded Colombo city.
Is there anyone to question them?? These machines are lethal let alone wait for someone to get killed??
Then brush under the carpet the evidence etc cause the driver of the powerful Motorbike is someone’s someone in power.

Are we still in that . ” Ano horibîlis era” of that last murderous decade .

Our SL had been made a ” cess pit “of the Indian Ocean by no one other than the man dictator MARA and the Family.

The dumbos do not realise the truth yet just because the thinking power and the brain cells have been warped by the Propagandists of Racism and thuggerism while the religious leaders having a good slumber just looking after themselves.

what do we see now ? Rich Young wasted lives with no focus in their lives breaking mummy’s and Daddy’s Banks including the state wealth and enjoying their lives ,

What ? What’s the literacy scale of the country now?

With these Rich Kids roaming around aimlessly on racing cars and motor bikes , the elite schools should be ashamed for churning out these aimless scoundrels now .

Teach our kids to steal murder and get Rich like Thaththa and Amma did .

Future for Srilanka is Very Dim indeed.

Hope this arrogant young man, who abused his power, and took advantage of his father’s position in this country, is remorseful, and has plenty of time in his hands to think about all the crimes he may have committed during his father’s reign. The problem with our politicians is, that the off springs suddenly think they are important, and can commit crimes because of the protection given to them by their fathers/mothers. During the Rajapaksa reign we saw many other spoilt brats of Ministers, behaving like thugs, beating up people, and acting like they are above the law. Yoshitha and his brothers were worse, they were corrupt, and seems to have suddenly become extremely wealthy. Considering they came from nowhere, and came with nothing, how could they have amassed so much of wealth, owned so many businesses, latest sports cars, and acted like they owned this country? We are still waiting to see who was involved in the Thajudeen murder, and if the sons of MR were involved, it seems they acted like the mafia, and tried to get away with murder.

High Court would very likely grant bail to Yoshitha and others, as done in the case against Mr. Basil Rajapakse and the GM of Divi Naguma. But the AG must ask for conditional bail preventing them leaving the country. The AG did this mistake in the case of the Asst. Secretary who was being investigated in the Avan Guard case. She has slowly scooted off the country and now the authorities are seeking assistance from abroad to bring her back. Even in Namal’s case all the rest of the seven charged are given bail, but banned from leaving the country EXCEPT Mr. Namal Rajapakse. Why? Is it because, he is a Parliamentarian? Shouldn’t he be treated equally with others when he is brought before Justice?

What brought them in the end ? Nothing… for what those billions desposited in the banks ? Were they the billions they grabed by all ilegal manner HELPED them in the end ?

    No.

How the mother of 3 son has to bear all these, if she is an average mother ? Had she had the authority to nurture them well, nothing would have gone wrong. Mothers in lanken families have no autortiy to nurture their kids, specially in so called macho families like that of Maharaja.

Basics of the basics should have been far from this family to allow their sons ended up with all miseries.

No doubt, life imprisonment will be the verdict. All will work to corner this boy to long term jail sessions. Today, nothing will hinder that as had been before. People learn to respect law of the country, then nothing can go wrong.

When MR became Prez. of this country, first time around, I remember seeing his 3 sons on the tele at his swearing in ceremony. They were young, innocent looking students fresh out of College, media shy and looking bewildered at the sophistication all around, and getting thrust into the spotlight with their mother in tag. It has been a long time in coming and now that they all have matured into young adults and assumed new roles. They need to stop and do a self evaluation and question themselves, if being the son of a President has spoiled them rotten and got them into more trouble than they could possibly handle, or has it groomed them to become responsible citizens, ready to assume new roles in society, to give back from what they received in training and achievements. It is sad and obvious that they have failed society miserably by abusing their positions of authority, and both their parents must share the blame for their children’s present predicament. We all know the saying, ‘Power, by itself corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely’. Absolute power has indeed got the better of them, and this is now their depressing fate, once fine young men who had the world at their feet.

Guess money laundering is another name for “investment” minus parliamentary approval. But if the money is obviously in this Carlton network, then simply take it over, I say, and stop the prosecutions. The investment must have come to fruition by now, and will be good for country assets.

(unless the Rajapaksas were hiding their investments and would only give all back to the country when the more fortuitous day came about when they all came back to power. But those are simply technicalities, and the onus should be on the family for starting the investment-scheme in the first place).

But aside from the family that had considerable assets since Colonial era – as Chandrika’s family has-, and so we can put these investments down to “personal asset” investments, one wonders about the “links” of the former Gosl. And there are many linkages of cronies and advisors of Rajapaksa buying all kinds of property in the major hubs of the USA. Now that set of trillions will be more difficult to intercept.

I mean, it is only those with considerable wealth from bygone Colonial period who can indulge in country-asset investment – that is easy to intercept and be returned, if the current Gosl has the guts to do so, as this Gosl has indeed.

But when the smaller man tries to elevate himself this way, and commit the same investment-procedure-technique (saying that if our leaders are doing so, so why can’t we), it is downright theft! What a bunch of traitors feigning nationalism! They forget that the leaders did so in historical “Crown” fashion. Commoners daring to do so, were hung, drawn and quartered.

“But be too obdurate, and our country will probably fall to pieces.”

When did a country depend on one single person or his/her clan to satisfy its entire investment needs. Who gave them the monopoly on resources and the right to drag the country to fall apart if the country doesn’t turn a blind eye on their ill-gotten wealth ?

It seems an Oligarch has replaced Nomenklatura.

Grand Inquisitor Inspector Javert Native Vedda,

No gov. in its right mind will prosecute the former gov. If they did, Bush and Chaney would be in prison by now, and facing the electric chair. Lee Kwan Yew’s family would have gone so fast, but for S’pore having no historical links to political oppositional parties. King of Jordan would have gone by now, if he didn’t pledge absolute allegiance to America. S’pore also declares allegiance to America. Lee and King of Jordan are examples of familial control of states and countries.

Ranil and Co. can get away with a lot of prosecuting. But they can’t because they have pledged allegiance on great-grandmother India………!India! If they try to prosecute too much, they will have to go back to the time of the insurgency when the country erupted in violence and flames, and the UNP killed and tortured 100’s of thousands of fellow countrymen. Nobody wants all that much comradeship with great-grandmother India.

If they removed the land-bridge deal, and said for certain that there is not be no country partition, things can get moving. But they can’t because binding promises have been made with Indians.

Now if they removed the land-bridge deal and country partition deal, and Rajapaksas transferred all ownership of country investments, then the country might start moving at last. (of course Rajapaksa’s will have to be placed in appropriately high-positions)

Grand Inquisitor Inspector Javert Native Vedda :

Rajapaksas certainly built so many things for the country, and the money went into those projects.

It’s the projects that their cronies and advisors used, so as to create their own money making enterprises (in declaration that they were doing so patriotically for the country). Guess that set of trillions, being too abstract and elusive, will be impossible to intercept.

Guess prosecuting Rajapaksas will send a strong message. But after all of that, if ever that land bridge is built and/or separatism, everything for Sri Lanka will be worthless.

          ramona therese fernando

So you mean to say all family members of the ruling elite and influential people should be exempt from prosecution.

Suppose your family member suffers the same plight such as what happened for Lasantha Wickrematunge and many others and there is some doubt a highly placed politician was involved will you still accept the highly placed politician is more important than my loved one and so we should forget it for the good of the country?

            Shrikharan,

It’s a formula that the courts should decide on :

            Importance of country consolidation +

Value of investment deals minus parliamentary approval(returnable) –

Value of Investment deals minus parliamentary approval(unreturnable) –

            Who killed Lasantha W. +

Lasantha W’s instigation towards country discord =

            Innocence/Guilt of Rajapaksas

              ramona therese fernando

“Importance of country consolidation + “

Let the Government arrest ramona therese fernando on country consideration as she is causing discord and she will certainly oblige.

If other issues, other than the truth and equality before the law is considered then it is not justice.

Take for example, a multimillionaire owning a big business employing thousands of people commits a crime on a poor person; according to you there this nothing wrong to twist the truth to suit the millionaire as, if he loses many people employed by him may lose their jobs in case the business gets closed. I only hope the victim was none other than you!

Ramona you must go back and live in your dessert tent rather live among civilized society.

Is it a crime if one is endowed with a scatterbrain?

                Shrikharan,

Exculpation Defense : With an exculpation defense, the accused admits wrongdoing but argues he or she should be freed from culpability or assessed reduced liability (in civil cases) for the crime due to mitigating circumstances surrounding offense.

Exsultet of the Catholic church says : Oh Happy fault! Oh necessary sin of Adam.

“O Felix Culpa,” : Saint Thomas Aquinas develops the truth further in his Summa: “But there is no reason why human nature should not have been raised to something greater after sin. For God allows evils to happen in order to bring a greater good therefrom” (Third Part, Question 1, Article 3, Reply to Objection 3)

But can you imagine this sitting with Inspect Javert aka Native Vedda? Oh No! Not the Mahavali Ganga NV :”(

        NV,
You should know by now that you can’t pin down our Mad Ramona. She is as slippery as an eel.You shouldn’t expect her to know any thing about Sri Lanka, because apparently she grew up somewhere else and now lives in Pittsburgh.
