The fresh posters whipping up racism such as “Remove slaughterhouse from the Kandy town”, “Kandy will not be allowed to be turned into another Akuressa” and “Don’t purchase things from Muslim shops” have created a fear psychosis among the Muslim people in the area, not knowing what is in store for them.

The Quran is very clear that they are to resist unbelievers by any means until Islam establishes political supremacy. The current regime need some excuses to keep up the militarisation and colonisation of the North-East. Sinhala Buddhists hate muslims more than Hindus. But they used Muslims to bring a permanent division between Tamils and Muslims.They knew that they can buy corrupted Muslim leaders for Money and Power.Muslims enjoyed lot of benefits from the government’s anti-tamil position at the expense of Tamils.
There are large number of muslim ministers and Parliamentarians in relation to their size of muslim population. The growth of muslim population much higher than that of Sinhala or Tamil.

In terms of Tamils, the rule of law was never in practice. This is the heart of the problem and those political criminals can get away with it using racism. For example the burning of Jaffna Library: It was burnt by thugs brought my Sinhala ministers and the police and military was behind them and none of the criminals were arrested and brought into justice. Same applies for all other state sponsored violence against Tamils. LTTE brought a different dimension to this trend but there is no change to the motives within the Sinhala community. Sinhala masses never questioned against the state violence on Tamils. Even Sinhala masses couldn’t raise the voice against Sinhala rulers when the same happened to Sinhalese in 1989 and you still digging the mass graves of Sinhala youths. Thing how long it will take to dig mass graves in Mullivaical and other Tamil areas. It is a matter of fact that muslims were used by Sinhala rulers against LTTE and this created conflict of interest between Tamils and Muslims. It is true that LTTE is not a democratic organisations and it used violence against its enemies irrespective of Tamil, Muslim or Sinhala. But you cannot justify the same behaviour or even worse than the LTTE behaviour from those people who were elected by people. Now LTTE is not there. I use to think deep about what you have commented.I have travelled many parts of the world. But Sri Lanka is the only country which all the TV stations and many Radio stations broadcast BANA in the morning at one time.There’s no other country I saw doing this. Infact the longest Buddhist (religious) programs done in public media out of the whole world is in Sri Lanka.
My own Sister who lives closer to colombo city cannot come to my birthday party without leaving her husband at home fearing a house break by thieves. She say only 15 minutes is enough for thieves to polish a house. It happened to my uncle and sister in law’s house. Nobody caught yet. Infact police say to find and bring the thieves to the station. This is the state of Sri Lanka today.
One day by mistake she left clothes dryer outside by mistake. Next day morning thieves have jumped over locked 6 foot fence and had taken the Iron Board.
I was at an embassy(rarely I go to this western embassy) and saw a citizen of that country has come to get a new passport since his passport was pick pocketed with two C.cards and some currency. He said he had only one ride in the public transport for just a mile…..and his pocket was gone.
You know our country is hi-jacked by Fuc…..ng Bud….st mon…s. and politicians. They murder our country. They are the worst crooks in the world. Very primitive, low morale, no class, uneducated thieves with no family values. These are the crooks who run our country and never allow others to come up in life.

Although many people have criticized you here for some remarks, you have stated many hard facts, but I wish to respectably disagree with you on the reasons for Muslims not siding with the LTTE. Two thirds of the Muslims live among the majority community. If they sided with the LTTE it would have been suicidal. Muslims did not and do not want another pogrom of 1915 type. They know how utterly Sir Ponnampalam Ramanathan betrayed them and they know they will not have any help. They have seen the 1983( and other) pogrom(s) against the Tamils. We have to evolve from a lawless racist country to a model Democracy. We have sold the bogey of Racism and pseudo nationalism for the last 65 years of which for over 39 years we hid behind the Eelam war to hold on to rigid positions.
We have got rid of terrorism, but haven’t had the foresight to handle the casuals. Sri Lanka will have to wake up to the “talkathons” and promises the world is looking for concrete action on the ground; the institutions and the legal framework that will treat all citizens as equal

If you don’t hold back these racist cads we will end up with another pogrom that would set this country back by another decade
You guys will have no excuse to offer the world because this is pure intolerance and racism, an attack on an unarmed peaceful minority.
Don’t fall prey to the machinations of your political leaders who are calculating that racism will keep them in power.
They are also banking on inaction of the international community; despite the ethnic cleansing of Rohingiya Muslims the Myanmar regime was not hauled up.The political goons are also banking on the increasing anti-Muslim rhetoric across the globe to drive their despicable agenda.
Either way Muslims have no hope!

It is power hunger not Buddhism! Craving for Power is against Buddhism! Violence whether verbal, emotional or physical is also anti Buddhist. Metta, moditha and Upeksha are fundamental principles of Buddhism. Tolerance of other religions, races is core in Buddhism!
All these so called fundamental Buddhists cannot be true Buddhists! They have to be non Buddhists called ‘Mithya dushtikayin! What a shame they dont know their own religion!!
Shame on all of us the true Buddhists for passively waiting and allowing these non Buddhists degrading a true philosophy!

The Muslim population in Kandy must be controlled. There is nothing wrong with this. Israel deports thousands of Africans back to Africa so that Israel can remain majority Jewish. Sri Lanka should always remain majority Sinhalese.
