Last night, in a dimly lit side street a stone’s throw from the towering UN headquarters here in New York, Britain co-hosted a drinks party with Sri Lanka. Australia joined the fray to render it a tripartite affair.
Large black shiny cars ferried Sri Lanka’s large UN delegation to the door of an un-extraordinary town house. The hosting of the party was personified by British Foreign Secretary, William Hague; Sri Lanka’s External Affairs Minister Gamini Peris and – six days into her job – Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

The reason why the queen is not participating is that the Duke of 94 years is not in a position to accompany her due health concerns. J Snow and C4 seem to have a selective conscious regards to war crimes. The so called war crimes committed by SL forces are in their words (C4) are allegations. No one committed greater crimes against the Tamils than J Snow’s countrymen, the British. Tamils were herded into plantations, taken as slaves to Africa and Americas, raped routinely, treated like sub humans. The British personnel are yet busy with murder in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria. There are many well documented British atrocities GLOBALLY, but not a word from C4 and J Snow on those barbaric British past-times. Of course, they brought Britain wealth, just like Tamil diaspora money is there for grabs as rewards for those publicising their agenda. Yes, the Sri Lankans, the Brits and Aussies had a party in New York but, the party J Snow and the carpet baggers would have had a grander, lavish celebration later the same evening. All at the expense of the diaspora, the money they collected from poor Tamils at gun point. Shame!!!
