The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena together with a mob inclusive of monks stormed a press conference organised by the rival Jathika Bala Sena Watareka Vijitha Thero and abused the monk preventing him from speaking to the journalists present and in full view of the Police personnel present.

The incident took place this morning at the Hotel Nippon in Colombo.
Watareka Vijitha Thero was a vocal critic of the conduct of Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero and was assaulted and hospitalised last year while travelling in a vehicle. The monk alleged that the BBS was behind the assault. No person was apprehended or arrested by the Law Enforcement authorities following the assault.
The BBS General Secretary while verbally abusing the head of the Jathika Bala Sena coerced him into apologising for convening a press conference and ordered the disbanding of the organisation.
Watareka Vijitha Thero who was surrounded by the mob inclusive of monks had agreed to apologise and disband the organisation.
Sources however confirmed to the Colombo Telegraph that Vijitha Thero would make a Police complaint shortly at the Slave Island Police.
Around 40 Police personnel who were present during the fracas had not attempted to prevent the abuse nor acted against the violation of the right to the freedom of expression.

This monk is a chief priest of the village temple and suddenly he became a rich and plushy monk and talking about muslims grivences around the country. This monk who has no asset to even go on a pilgrimage to Anuradhapura or Polonnaruwa suddenly roaming around the country finding muslims grivences even in Wilpattu while his village people languish in poor. Even now he has money to hold press conferences in Nippon Hotel in Slave Island.
This monk is bought by powerful Muslim politicians funded by muslim businessmen. This is a tragedy Buddhism facing today because of imposter’s like Watareka Vijitha. Any rich powerful person who has evil ideas can now buy a monk in SL becuse there are so many imposters in the “Sasana”. Now all monks in this island are being bought by Muslim businessmen.
Why could not the Sinhala/Buddhists buy or retain those monks who protest against the saffron clad thugs?
If Watareka and Vijitha and other like minded are unscrupulous monks they would be happy to sell their services to the highest bidder. Therefore you should be able to outbid the Muslim businessmen.

There are few imposters like Vajira monk, might easily sell or misguided. The other monks with monk Vajira are imposters and they don’t have even monk ID. They are muslim people who put on yellow robe to show the world that we are monks.
