Although Gotabaya Rajapaksa claims he had no property in Sri Lanka except his wife’s house in Udahamulla, Colombo Telegraph can reveal that he had build a luxury house in his name in Kataragama.
The luxury bungalow built at Wanaraja Pedesa, Depot Road, Kataragama was constructed by using Army soldiers as forced labour.
The architecturally built bungalow is designed in such a way where the occupants of the house could wade into the the famous Menik Ganga river.
It appears that all Rajapaksa brothers of the former regime have now built bungalows around the country during their family rule. This is although Gotabaya’s younger brother Basil claims that the bungalows built around the country by himself does not belong to him.
Speaking to the media earlier Gotabaya once challenged anyone to prove he has any property in his name besides his wife’s property in Udahamulla
We publish below the photos of the property and a water bill dated 15th September 2015 belonging to Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

If a copy of the deed made available or some documentation from the land registry to indicate that GR, who is portraying himself as an “Upasakaya” (virtuous man), is the owner of the premises then we can splash that in his face. Incidentally the bill shows that occupier has accumulated arrears of about Rs 10,423. Why is the supply not disconnected? Further, the occupants of the house consume about 25 units at least for the current month, indicating that some family is living and that is hardly used as a holiday home. If as usual (Basil’s palace in Malwana), no owner can be found for the property then it should have been vested in the state long ago. Such is the efficiency under “Yahapalanaya”. In comparison the 92 year old Mahathir Mohammed has really progressed in his anti-corruption drive roping kleptocrats there within just a few weeks.

He has already instilled fear in judiciary, legal sector, police, army and media even before he is nominated. Soon he will mount pressure on Mahinda, the same way Maithree mounted pressure on Mahinda prior to 2015 general election. May be it is already happening.
I have no issue with our Army. But Sri Lanka doesn’t need a military dictator as their next leader. I dare say, 50% of the population is directly against Gotabhaya. There is no way he wins the election.
Today, the so called powerful former Defence Secretary even attempts to distance himself from the Intelligence Service which was directly under him. Coward.

Having said that I’m not an extremist, i suggest that you guys also look into current cabinet’s hidden assets. How they spoil people’s money for their own pleasure. Even gota’s bloodlines did the same. Please, there’s something in our people’s choice. Otherwise you won’t be publishing such stuff. Just think of how we lost billion dollar investment on the interference of everpopular bil. Sarcastic ???

Se how Gamini Jayawickrama perera and John amaratungae, two very senior ministers, why they cannot be chased out. Theyhave even foreign assets and even at this very old age they are looking for avenues to invest outside. Who will dig this. CIABOC is wrong for finding that Ravi KArunanayake is a Theif. This can be facilitated by a forced acquisitions of property reparations act where properties sold below market rates under duress can be seized and returned to their original owners if such complaints are received…

Rajapakses has their assets in different coutnries. What they have in the USA is right now depreciated and can not be brought in. gotabhaya Rajapakse had bought some assets in the name of his daughter in law. But the value of american assets are low and probably not much worth. He is willing to give every thing back but at this moment the cashing is not worth.There is a story that there was or is a pile of money look like a large elephant. Dayasiri Jayasekara would I also got a little from that.
