Friends Of Ranawaka’s Accident Victim Demand Justice From Sirisena

The family and friends of Sandeep Gunawardena, the victim who was allegedly knocked down by Megapolis and Western Development Minister Champika Ranawaka has called on President Maithripala Sirisena seeking justice for their friend.

Minister Champika Ranawaka

Minister Champika Ranawaka

In a petition, the friends and family have requested Sirisena to intervene and ensure that the law of the nation applies to Ranawaka and ensure justice is meted out to the victim, who is still receiving treatment in the ICU following the accident in Rajagiriya.

They have also requested the victim be sent overseas for medical treatment, as there is no improvement in his health situation following the accident.

Even though on March 9, the Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered the police to record a statement from the Minister, the police is yet to record his statement. The court order was issued following a motion filed by the aggrieved party. The Magistrate has also requested for the minister’s telephone records be submitted to the Court within two weeks.

Ranawaka has denied any involvement in the accident, but eye witnesses claim that the vehicle which knocked Sandeep was driven by Ranawaka.

Come on! Why are we dragging the President in to all these? Is it Mahinda Rajapaksa ruling where every move required Kurakkan Samagama endorsement or enforcement? Sri Lanka should move on from this mind set.

Today Prez has been very decent as had not been prior to 08th Jan 2015. He has patience to listen to anyone. But this is no means real that Patali should have been the person to have driven his jeep at that night. None of these ministers would ever drive their vehicles by themselves.

Even today, nothing is changed in the country in the areas of journalism and media even if the govt is changed, so much of the corrupted men in Rajapakshe intoxicated mode still do whatever they think is right. They behave like genetically changed mice inthe experiment labs. Time will tell the people in the years to come that they had been fooled by Rajapakshes as no other leaders did.

Besides, this nation is easy to deceive by anyone, they focus only about surface values. No matter their family ones would have been mistreated, they would go with Rajapakshes and their thuggish underground supporters. Derana is a good example for everyone. They are intelligent journalists but most of them dont want to call spade a spade since the boss of them is 100% intoxicated by Rajapakshes lies.
So were also the lanken so called artists. Anthony the man who held a speech as if any low IQ MAN could fall intoxicated. It was all about the creating uknown Rjapakahs magical powers made the wonder which is putting the stop to the war. Those idiots did not know the course of the war end. And the setbacks that Ltte faced world wide to that time. And not forgetting brave soldiers were the ones fought the war not the guys like political leadership sat only in AC rooms. At the time, CBKs or RW govts won some offensives they di not celebrated them as Rajapakshes did. Rajapakshe kith and kin got together to paint the picture in favours of them:

I dont need to know – but they are in danger if these men were supposed to drive by themselves – late in the evening. Right at the moment, with all plans being mapped Maharaja Et al to set a number of assisinations one behind the other- warnings should have been given to them – so I really dont think that said minister was driving himself the jeep at that late evening. Anyways, it is hardly possible. But I dont know. I dont live in the country, I just added the probablity is much less. Those rich kiddies of so called affluent classen should ahve been bribed or manipulated by Gonmapila et al seeking poltical advantages of the incident. Anyways truth will surface in the days to come.

Why did the bike collide with the rear third quarter of the vehicle. Why should the driver at the front account for a collision from the rear?

    • 6
      0

PS: Unless of course the driver of the car recklessly overtaken the bike in a busy and crowded road, and then tried to pull back to the nearside without checking his mirror and ensuring that no vehicles were in the inside lane blocking him. In this case the driver of the car is accountable for reckless driving, as well as the biker for inconsiderate driving and causing a deliberate blockage (for which he also suffered damage). The nature of damage to the car and the bike would have tell tale marks to the circumstances of the collision.

Thrisu be real – if he had been the driver, no doublt he would have guts to come forward. Why you think him to have made the accident. There are a bunch of men that have been working aginst the current govt. Most of them incl. lanken journalists that are intoxicated by the lies of Rajapakshes. Wait and see, as had been the Thajudeen murder, things will surface soon, then we can make him the person to have left the place after colliding the bike of the vitimized.

The name of justice, please dont spread lies.

Justice or not, due to scientific evidence, when the case goes to courts, the driver (whoever it is) will be released with a fine for not avoiding an accident. Driving 1000 CC bike on normal roads is a gross violation of law and colliding with a vehicle in the rear is more or less the error of the biker, unless otherwise proved with CCTV footage.

The huge noise heard by the bikers is a master strategy to shake the society and highlight the political link (Driver was or wasn’t Champika R.) and gain sympathy for the driver who is in the hospital as well as the others who were with him. in fact, if the bunch of friends were also driving 1000 CC bikes, they all will be charged soon. :)

That’s what supposed be happening, if everything goes according to the law in the book.

this culture was introduced by Rajapakshes. Hie buffaloe sons ran night races with all the ministers slept and watched them. Perhahps those ministers had no penis to react accordingly.

They dont care today the gravity of sound exposure being made by thos vehicles. Few of these rich people to behave so -s hould not further be allowed. Lanken law system stayed mum – if this would have been case in Germany, they would have taken their bikes. Law is equal to anyone in the country.
These men further to work on the agendas of political teenagers such as GOmnnapila – festate the wound further. This culture should be controlled. not even 0.5% of the affluent class to allow the life as they think is right while violating laws of the country- should be seen as a big blunder.

It is the norm for 99.9%Motor cyclist to overtake on the left. The cops see it and condone it for reasons Only they know. The Ministers vehicle has damage from behind possibly trying to overtake form the wrong side. All this is mere speculation . I did see however yesterday on TV very high powered bikes on a tour of the country driving into the Galle fort. How come a large no of 1000cc bike are allowed to tour the country when it is ill legal? Rajapakse era comming back ?

No powerful ministers just drive their vehilces by themselves.

They have families that would not allow them to do so. It was 10 p.m at the time the accident to have occured.

Just right at this brutal junction of the country where Rajapakshes make every effort to assasiante any powerful ones and grab the power to their hand again. So please just think beofre leap. These men that work for Rajapakshes are so blind and intoxicated by all lies. That is the reason them to spread lies this way.

Law and order minister and authorties should bring all these rich kids to the proper investigations. Then only people would and could see who has been the real person to have collided and left the place.

      Dear Native,

Where are those two blokes nowadays?.

Does the Vellala Tag has become Sambandan’s Achillis Heel?

What happened to Abraham and his kick ass speeches?.

I knew Vellala CM is no fool all the way along.

Otherwise how can be become the first ever elected leader of the Thamil Nation, although it is only less than 8 % of the Srialankan inhabitant population, as the 7 % Indian Tamils didn’t vote.

And take charge of them without attending even one funeral of the thousands of Vellala Sambandans’s boys and girls who were killed by the UNP new stalwart and Yahapalana Cabinet Minister, the new Field Marshall.

The CM is now acting as a total Dalit.

He even said in public the other day, that he ordered the Danish to piss off with their Solar Panels and Air Conditioners because he doesn’t want the Elite up there in the North.

Isn’t Elite the English term for Vellalas?…

I know what you would say about the accident.

If Tamils were not living outside North East this accident would not have happened.

    Am I right?

These are the same friends who say the driver was wearing sunglasses at 10.45 in the night, and that they needed ID to verify the minister who should be easily identifiable?

Why send him abroad now? Surely Poodeniya and the GMOA should be rushing to his assistance. This is after riding a 900cc bike (probably illegally) in one of those roving wannabe ‘bike gangs’ that endanger the general public at night. Looks like someone’s getting paid off for making a fuss.

The matter must be investigated and if the minister is found guilty his civic rights must be removed, he must be barred from standing for elections and he must be sentenced to life imprisonment NOT for having met with an accident BUT for having denied it AND for having attempted a cover up AND thereby setting a BAD example to the youth of this nation. This is gross abuse of power IF it is established.

Yes its a high profile accident.

But any driver who drives will note that the jeep in content has been damaged in the left back side . i.e.. the motor bike rammed it from the rear…

    Probabilities are

    1. The jeep merged from a by road onto the main road turning right without proper care and consideration to the other motorist and caused the accident. In any event the motor cyclist should have slowed down when he observed the jeep turning onto the road. CASE IN POINT BOTH DRIVER AND RIDER COULD BE CHARGED FOR NEGLIGENCE.

    2. The motor cyclist was riding to fast ( i Have personally witnessed these hi poured Bikes ripping around these roads with no consideration to other motorists). lost control and slammed onto the left back of the jeep.

    3. Unlike in the normal world when there is an accident both parties waits till help arrives but in countries like sri lanka if a person is injured . Public generally beats up the other driver and he has no option but drive to nearest police station for his protection . ( PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF ACCIDENT ). One of the victim’s friend said on TV that he went to assault the driver.

Just because the minster was involved this been boated up to a higher level . Police should do their investigation and figure out what went wrong and punish the wrong doer who ever it may and meat out justice through the courts to the victim who ever it may be as soon as possible.

Being practical public can’t just demand that injured guy be taken overseas for treatment because a ministers involved in an accident. Who is going to pay for this … The tax payers.

Whilst i fully agree that the Minsters and their back ups are people killers, it has soften down to a large extent under Yahapalanaya.

There is too much interference which is impeding on the police investigation. Politicians of the previous govt have not given up on their old habits. People that were silent on cold blooded murders and white van kidnapping are now screaming for justice.

I think its time to open-up another investigation to see who these family and friends are.

I was watching a TV debate titled “New Parliament” the other day, participated by the DIG of Western Province; a Medical Doctor; a Journalist; Mr. Gammanpila of Pivithuru Hela Urumaya and a Deputy Minister Mr. Ajith Perera. The main topic at debate was “rising trends of Crimes and what should be done to arrest the situation”.

In the midst of the debate an interesting revelation was made by Mr. Gammanpila accusing the Police of inaction in relation to this accident where the Minister Champika Ranawake is named a “suspect”. Mr. Gammanpila said ” The Police so far has failed to get even a statement recorded from Mr. Champika Ranawaka and therefore,(the most interesting revelation now) WE HAD TO GO TO COURTS AND GET AN ORDER FROM THE MAGISTRATE TO DIRECT THE POLICE TO RECORD A STATEMENT FROM MR. CHAMPIKA RANAWAKE AND CHECK THE CCTV CAMERAS”. Just imagine the “hidden agenda” of rival politics that play around this incident. Do you think that these types of Politicians are worth the vote of the people to be in Parliament? Does that show his LOVE for the man clinging to life in hospital or pay of his VENGEANCE to a political rival? Would this Parliamentarian come forward in any other case of such an accident that takes place in the country?

So judging from the facts I gathered from the above debate, I suspect, even this letter addressed to the President is the work of these Political Vagabonds who are waiting to grab any opportunity to pay off their grudges against their rivals.

Batalanada PM didn’t give a shit about Bodhi Sira’s demand to sack the Singaporean for awarding the SIL 3 % Santhosam.

You think Batalanada will take action on his Megapolis Busunnahe (Supervisor).

Batalanda needs this dude more than anyone else, until the Bedouin Prince completes his Business.

Did you hear what happened to the Secretary of Bodhi Sira’s Prez Commission into Every thing of the Rajapaksa Regime.

Sira was forced to give poor Lacille the ass, as he was trying to nail two heavy weight ex Rajapakasa Cabinet Ministers, who are now dispensing Yahapalanaya under Batalanada’s instructions.

And it was not in Derana ,It was in Yahpalana Paper Sunday Leader..

Both Singaporean and his SIL will count the bars soon after the next election. And their partner in crime who forgot his assurance of an impartial inquiry during the last parliamentary election too will pay the price.

Most of the Comments are washing clean the racist minister to look like a diamond. The above comment failed to list if there were any practical differences between Gammanpila and his boss Champika when they both were in Old Royal. If so why Champika had him on his side? One opportunist has come to this side other still remaining there. I ask the commentator if Gammanpila comes to New Royal Government then will the commentator feel satisfied?

If these rowdiest people called ministers claim fear of standing on the accident site, what the heck this man was doing in the past 10 years in the Old Royal Government? What prevented him from fixing that problem? Leave the past; forget it for a second, what is he proposing to cure it in the current time? Will he take it to the parliament and say there that he ran out from the accident site so ministers and MPs are obligated that an ordinary citizen may not have to do this in the future? Everybody knows it is the ministers’ gangs stand on the corners of the roads and wait for the accidents to happen so that they beat up one party and milk out money.

Well, he ran out of the site by fear. Then he went to police station. Is there a statement recorded there that a minister ran out of the accident cite by fear of standing there? Did he stretched out his hand to be clubbed him and hold him until he was presented to judge to allow him go on bail or stay inside until he was proven that he ran out because of fear. Is it was the police decision to let him go out of the police station or is it the New King called police station OIC to let him go or otherwise he will whip the OIC with stingray’s tail?

Where I am living Hit runs occur every day, Some times they will never find. So, if they jail all those drivers and go behind those cases, Criminals and killers are outside because, hit and run cases come to the front.

What ever happened, this is a hit from behind. It is Champika Ranawaka who should sue the Driver in the Hospital for hitting his Vehicle from behind and damaging it.

If it was here, the motor bike driver would be sued and Insurance would pay the damages of the vehicles to Champika Ranawaka.

Of course, Champika Ranawaka Will not do that, because he is a Politician and it is not his private vehicle which he bought with what he earned from his Sweat and hard work.

Anyway, Champika Ranawaka has enemies, that is why this many idiots writing stupid comments.

We now need an international court with independent investigators to establish the truth!

The wheels of justice are still grinding some skewed manner!

Arrest Champaka and keep him in the swing give few pushes and release him on Bail!

    In people’s eye,
We have two eye witnesses bold enough to identify Cham paka!
Ordinary citizens are not idiots to come up with fancy stories like politicians!
That is more than enough proof for me! I believe those two boys over Champaka even when my eyes are covered!

We still need to charge Daham Sirisena for assaulting DIG’s son in Batti beach! Gotabhaya and Sirisena must also face the charges for covering up! – perverting the cause of justice

The wheel of justice again will grind in a new skewed manner if this government changes! and lot of people will have lot of court cases, explaining acquired wealth to tax man! I am eagerly waiting for that day.

These serpents must eat each other and self destroy so we can build a decent society rid of this scum!

If Sri lankan Law enforcement is law abiding, once the motor bike driver gets well, the govt must sue the motor bike driver for endangering traffic and should recover the cost of careless motorbike riding.

Only a well trained rider should ride a 1000 CC bike on Sri lankan roads.

Because, he can not accelerate on that kind of roads. Sri lanka does not have proper roads for a 1000 CC bike.
