What courtesy bail? It was not a courtesy. It is a right.
We won!!!! The slave government was terrified!!!! They never thought Ven. Gnanasara Thero will get a countrywide support from the clergy, politicians and the general public equally, irrespective of any differences. Rajapaksas were isolated. They were the only people who didn’t raise their voice on behalf of the Thero. Well, well, well, this unity, even of strange quarters is good sign to defeat a possible renaissance of Hitler in Sri Lanka. How absurd does it sound. Hitler and a military dictator. I feel sorry for MR.
    .
It is not difficult to unite Sinhalese. Sinhalese are ready to forget all other differences for one good cause. That is the most important factor highlighted in Ven. Gnanasara Thero’s case. Very good. This unity is a great achievement!!!!! Hooray, We hold the power. Papara papara pan….. papara pan….. papara pan….

What about the victim Ekneligoda’s wife? I am waiting when you are subjected to the same harm she suffered. Then please don’t say “nobody should be above the law just because one is a Buddhist priest”.

        Shrikharan
        Are you asking me?
She is not a victim. Victims are the Army Officers. That is why Ven. Gnanasara Thero lost his temper.
Police has filed a case against Army Officers accusing them for killing her husband, on assumption. They were in the remand custody and later released on bail as the Police couldn’t prove the man is dead, when the Judge (not this one) asked about the dead body.
Show me the man’s dead body, then I will believe he is dead. Police is still trying to find the body. Army Officers were accused for killing someone who is not dead.
That is why we all are angry. That is why we raised our voice on behalf of Ven. Gnanasara Thero who accused her for lying and threatened to expose her lies. Her man was seen by people living in a European country.
If I ever raise my voice for somebody, there is always a valid reason.

RE Gnanasara At Large Courtesy Bail From Homagama Magistrate

Did they give Somarama and Buddharakita courtesy bails?

Double standards of the Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” cultists, that is an insult to The Buddha.

Para-Sinhala “Buddhist” Cult and the Cargo Cult.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cargo_cult

With the end of the war, the military abandoned the airbases and stopped dropping cargo. In response, charismatic individuals developed cults among remote Melanesian populations that promised to bestow on their followers deliveries of food, arms, Jeeps, etc. The cult leaders explained that the cargo would be gifts from their own ancestors, or other sources, as had occurred with the outsider armies. In attempts to get cargo to fall by parachute or land in planes or ships again, islanders imitated the same practices they had seen the soldiers, sailors, and airmen use. Cult behaviors usually involved mimicking the day-to-day activities and dress styles of US soldiers, such as performing parade ground drills with wooden or salvaged rifles.] The islanders carved headphones from wood and wore them while sitting in fabricated control towers. They waved the landing signals while standing on the runways. They lit signal fires and torches to light up runways and lighthouses.[15]

In a form of sympathetic magic, many built life-size replicas of airplanes out of straw and cut new military-style landing strips out of the jungle, hoping to attract more airplanes. The cult members thought that the foreigners had some special connection to the deities and ancestors of the natives, who were the only beings powerful enough to produce such riches.

Cargo cults were typically created by individual leaders, or big men in the Melanesian culture, and it is not at all clear if these leaders were sincere, or were simply running scams on gullible populations.

Get a good nights sleep. Hope you have a good dream of Gnanasara Thero. He can now get back on stage, lift his robe (if he still has one), and use all the filth he likes against those who put him in prison. You too can join him on stage. Of course it is not difficult to unite the “modayas” of the Sinhalese. The respected, sensible Sinhalese would never support this thug who is an absolute disgrace to mankind.

Really disappointed with this alarming turn of events. Amazing mail from Champa above.

There is something seriously wrong in Paradise Isle. Lets forget personalities. One week we have a prisoner assigned to hard labour for one year; the next week he is enlarged on bail. It is clear whater the method used, the magistrate has been buIlied into submission. The yellow robe is clearly above the Law.

This trend does not augur well for this country. With every passing day we prove to the world around us how weak our government is; how weak our crucial Institutions have become and how unreasonable and lop sided public sentiment can even tilt the scales of justice the wrong way.

If those in power refuse to see the writing on the wall, not only are they blind to the obvious, but are pathetically ill equipped to man serious positions of responsibility in any decent government.

        Justice and Fairplay
Of course the saffron robe is not above the law. The offence was a bailable one. And the other thing was three days ago when the Appeal was heard, AG’s department didn’t send an officer, purposely, I believe.
Look at Ranil he was not even tried even though PCoI has ample proof. He was asked to make a statement to the Commission but the AG sent the Questionnaire the previous day to his office. How about that?

So called 16 Group thinks that they are ruling the Country. JO (Basil Group) thinks that they are ruling the Country. JO (Gota Group) thinks that they are ruling the Country. JO (Mahinda Group) thinks that they are ruling the Country. Retired Ranaviruwo thinks that they are ruling the Country. President Maithreepala Sirisena thinks that he is ruling the the Country. @ Lapatiya
Well why do you think that all these characters are thinking that they, and no body else, are ruling this country. It is simply because the current rulers, who come from vastly different backgrounds and have their own agendas, are either rogues or an utterly inefficient bunch or both . They are like the ‘ Mahadana-muththa’ and his henchmen and, except for a few, are here to make a fortune at our expense.

And who have elected them to the Parliament. None other than us.

This outrageous decision shows that in Sri Lanka all citizens are not equal under the law. As the saying goes ” some are more equal than others !” and they are the Sinhala Buddhists who enjoy power privilages and immunity denied to others. What more can you expect under an iniquitous constitution where article 11:9 guarantees that “The Republic of Sri Lanka shall give to Buddhism the foremost place” ? It is an abomination that rowdy monks and monsters in yellow robes who are a disgrace to Buddhism ( and a fearful threat to people of other faiths) should receive favour under the law. Sadly the Buddhist public ( including by and large even the educated classes, professionals and academics ) seem to be oblivious to the reality that the true Buddhism of the “dhamma” has virtually disappeared from Sri Lanka. What passes for Buddhism is a grotesque distortion that is best described as “militant aggressive Sinhala Buddhist nationalism” that would have been anathema to the Buddha !

      Professor ANI Ekanayaka

“This outrageous decision shows that in Sri Lanka all citizens are not equal under the law.”

You know Prof, Pancha Maha Balavegya sprung many miracles in 62 years since its introduction. This is one of them. The process in fact started with Anagarika Homeless Dharmapala, who amid confusion of his own identity went on to construct a contorted identity for Sinhalese and Buddhists, out came the Sinhala/Buddhism and Sinhala/Buddhists, a god sent gift for the Sinhala/Buddhist fascists, a lethal cocktail of religion and language.

Don’t blame SWRD Banda who never understood what he was up to. Now the genie refuses to go back.

      The solution is hard.
Lets try to liberate Sinhalese from Sinhala/Buddhists and Buddhism from Sinhala/Buddhism.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.

No. Not all citizens are equal under the law….the ones who commit crimes, and have saviors in high places, always goes through the revolving door, and keep committing more crimes.

Chitra, Time will come when “saffron robes divided according to castes” will eat each other up till saffron becomes red. How about a “blue robe” which will gather all buddhist clergy into a unity of the one dhamma without the created SB factions.

      Dear Professor ANI Ekanayaka,

“Sadly the Buddhist public ( including by and large even the educated classes, professionals and academics ) seem to be oblivious to the reality that the true Buddhism of the “dhamma” has virtually disappeared from Sri Lanka.”

Sadly, very true. What being promoted as Buddhism in the Land is Mara-ism, aka Sinhala-“Buddhist” cult, that is quite far removed from the “Dhamma” of the Enlightened Buddha, by the Sinhala “Buddhist” leaders and they were simply running scams on gullible populations, whose mean IQ is 79, just like with the case with Cargo Cult cultures.

Mahavamsa- An Insult To The Buddha! – By Sharmini Serasinghe

      https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/mahavamsa-an-insult-to-the-buddha/

Wonder if ours might have been a wiser, and a more ‘humane’ society, had our ‘ancient’ history, been based on Aesop’s Fables, instead of the Mahavamsa. For if not for the Mahavamsa, the Sinhalese may not have been endowed, with the reputation, of “Sinhalaya Modaya (The Sinhalese are Fools)”!

In this “wonderland” called Sri Lanka, and in this day and age, one still comes across ‘academically’ educated, and supposedly intelligent ‘Buddhists’, but sadly lacking in wisdom, who reverently believe, that the Buddha walked out of his mother’s womb, and walked seven steps, while lotuses blossomed, under his feet!

Etc., He should be deported to Saudi ArABIA asap. THERE IS a mullah or some one who hase four wives in sri lanka including the one in South India. HE should prosecuted and ail ASAP for having multipale wives. there can not be muslims specific Wives. Sri lanka has 100 year 500 year old LAws. that is the lack of initiative and the political will to change things. so, the Justice minister should be fired ASAP (BS, that will never happen in Sri lanka).

If Muslims who killed in Digana are not hanged, it is the same as this Gnanasara thug who is biggest killer and destroyer not hanged. Sri Lanka is not triple gems but triple rogues cum murderers. Four wives is okay if it is legally done but this Gnanasara was f-king many women and even boys. Yes Sri Lanka has laws implemented by your white masters.

This was predicted by many pessimists.
    .
When this thug was sentenced many in Sri Lanka rejoiced. We cannot claim that MOST people were happy – we have no means to assess that. But it seemed as though the judiciary at last had revealed that it had teeth.
    .
I don’t know how the law stands; Gnansara is a convicted felon, but it may be that when he appeals (it sounds as though he has appealed to the same court as sentenced him to jail – shouldn’t his appeal be taken up by a higher court? ), yes, when he appeals, the law acts as though he is once more innocent, until his guilt is affirmed once more.
    .
Be that as it may, it has got to the stage where for me, the prime suspect for interference in judicial affairs becomes the President, Maithri, for whom I had so much respect in January 2015.
    .
The problem for us is that the existence of so much crime and robbery of State Funds, and nobody seems to be doing time for them. . Due process must be followed, but it looks as though there is no political will to prosecute too many categories of criminals.

In the next Presidential election it is very likely that Champika will be the common candidate backed by UNP. In a TV program he indicated this in a subtle way. Ghanasara Thero will back him to attract Buddhist votes.

They can attract Buddhist votes? We won’t let that happen. We are fielding one for Buddhists.

Those days when KAsippy Joseph was loud, there were not many voices asking prosecution, jail and stop the Suicide belt transporting Brigade. those days when Yapanaya Bishop Emmanuel was crying out loud for PAbakakran all these voices were no where to be heard. Anyway, these peopleTRUST BUDDHA. that is good news.

TRUMP di dthat kind of things he became the PResident. In Sri lanka just for blaming need to go to jail. That protestant woman is far important than everything else.

Jim has a kink about protestants, evangelicals, anglicans etc. If he consults a psychiatrist or lay counsellor, perhaps they may put a finger on the root traumas and help him be rid of religious bias, with balanced thoughts to write edifying comments.

gnanasera will now boast to everyone that nobody can jail him.He might become a cult figure because of that idiotic homagama magistrate who should not have sentenced him in the first place if he did not intend to enforce it.He has made a mockery of the courts shouting inside it and now free to boast now about his untouchable status bestowed on him by the idiotic courts.

GoTa silently orchestrated this Hora Ganaya’s bail out. Wait and see until he opens his garrulous mouth and display his uncouth behaviour on the stage for GoTa’s presidential campaign.

Gamarala Sirisena or Hora Ranil does not have backbone to use the law to condemn this womanizing and corrupted Monk to life in prison and apply hot TARA on his orifice.

Remember, one time, Galaboda Hora Monk was sleeping with MaRa’s wife.

    God save Sri Lanka !!

Muslim leader implicated in cafe bombing in Indonesia was sentenced to death today, mind you Indonesia is the largest Muslim country. The justice system doesn’t care whether it’s a Muslim leader or anyone else. Justice gets served.

On the other end of the spectrum..in Sri Lanka the murderous saffron clad thug is once again released, because the political leadership fears him.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel for this country, it’s cursed and doomed forever.

This shows that the Sinhala Buddhists are governed by a different set of laws in this F king country.

Its truly disgusting how these judges look at all of us in contempt. There’s no doubt whatsoever that this lunatic monk was in contempt. The fact that all of us were so sure that the appeal would result in his immediate release is disgusting. On what grounds was this appeal made to be so convincing? A sham, a shame an absolute disgrace. Like Lalith Weeratunge. Nobody knows where the heck his appeal is lying. Is he laughing, feet up, sipping a cognac somewhere? He spent 4 days in jail and this mad monk a few more. How are these episodes becoming so damn predictable?

Look! gnanasara was always an instrument of Patali and Ranil. Anyone who actually knows his history should know this very well. He was deployed by one of the above in 2014 and he is now being prepped to be used again. this directive to grant him bail must have come from a fairly high up place proving a nexus between yahapalana and bbs.

Masses feel utterly disappointed with this kind of perverted judgements. The judgement should have been after due deliberation as to whether a normal citizen would have been given bail after imprisonment.

The buddhist priests gave the ruffian priest (?) a welcome that contains a message for the courts too. Judge Him the way we want, they seem to say.

What bail for this incorrigible ruffian who while boarding the black maria said ‘the judges do their duty, the police does their duty and i will do my duty’. He is unrependant and will shout in a court of law again in the assurance he will be taken in procession for doing that with pavada spread under his feet to walk on.
