Good Governance Should Be Reinstated-Vengeful Politics Should Stop: MR

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa now seems to be the champion of good governance as he has for the few weeks been repeatedly calling upon the new government to ensure good governance is established and to put a stop to vengeful politics.

MR made these remarks today when he visited the Mahara prison in the morning to visit former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena who is currently in remand prison for financial fraud.

“I don’t believe it’s a good trend to arrest people in this manner for civil cases. This is not good governance,” he said.

The former President went on to state the Police too should act responsibly with regard to enforcing the law but added he is well aware that these actions are carried out due to political pressure.

“I know that Gamini Senarath has been questioned for facilitating vehicle leasing as the Chairman of the People’s Leasing. . . Now there is an attempt to remand Ratwatte upon questioning him . . .We can now clearly understand the road taken up by this government,” he said while adding such revengeful acts should stop and good governance should be reinstated.

He urged the SLFP Chairman to look into the issues and ensure justice is delivered.

The loss of Mahinda, by a very narrow margin was a great loss to the country. More than the person himself, we lost his Chintanaya. The results have been catastrophic for the country, the latest and the most obvious example being the loss of our cricket team to South Africa.

Had they had been following Mahinda Chintanaya, an auspicious date and time would have been selected to start the match. Secondly, bus loads (or is it plane loads?) of supporters whould have been transported to the playground. Having failed in such basic things, they went on from folly to folly, trying to hit the ball instead of the bowler while batting and the wicket instead of the batsmen while fielding! The list, like the queue at Carlton, is almost endless.

The sins committed outside the field were even worse. To name just a few, no attempts were made to mobilize mass opinion against the decision to ignore the 130 odd runs scored by us. Worst of all they failed to promise the umpires a 10% cut if they won.

Wait and see. More calamities are on the way for the country.

Why do people listen to him, a man who has robbed, killed, and done so many hidious crimes, and everybody knows that, but difficult to prove.(Due to that fact that he is pretty good at what he does). May be most of the srilankans suffer from this so called Apachchi syndrome where you have to obey the whims and fancies of some idiot. We got to evolve out of this mentality or else we will be slaves for ever.

I remember a story happened in Jaffna when I was young. One man had an open land with palmera trees. One person stolen a seed worth a penny and there was a fight. They fought each other and there was a court case took many sessions for years. Finally the owner of the land sold that land to pay for the lawyer’s fee. Is that a big stupidity. Like wise Singhalese had a minor problem with Tamils and India used that fight for their own benefit and Srilankan government eventually sold big part of srilanka to buy weapons and lawyers to escape from UN investigation. Srilankan government could have resolved the very minor problem with Tamils at the early stage without any external interference – Now the irreversible damage have been done (one way traffic only). Stupid goat owner cut the goat’s head and broken the clay pot as well. Well done Srilankans, Still MR is able to talk, great leader, great people.

There are two people responsible for your survival in Politics. They are: 1. The Present Prime Minister Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe who at one time then, ordered the Police to return to Colombo while on their way to arrest you,in connection with some murders in your own domain. 2. The ex Chief Justice Mr. Sarath N de Silva for giving that “Judgement” in the Tsunami Case. Please pay life time tribute to these two people and not those “Nugegoda Jokers”. Now you have even started visiting the criminals in jail. Haven’t you got any time to visit some hospitals and meet and talk to innocent people who are afflicted with terminal ailments? Just think of such consoling activities that can keep you occupied and consoled for all what you have done to this country since 2010? Please learn; your “MIND” is playing all the tricks on you.Don’t be guided by that “Mind Directions” anymore; but follow your HEART and take guidance from it. Your will succeed.

Mr former President – People of this country gave you enough years to make this country a country full of decent , socially minded , people and a decently developed country – okay you achieved some development – but at the same time you made the entire country a zoo – full of animals not humans – Only your conscious knows how much national wealth you and your gondas have robbed – but certainly you do not have right to talk about Yahapalanaya – please stay out of politics if you really love this country

What did Sri Lanka have in the way of good governance during Mahinda’s reign?

When 5.8 million people voted for Percy they might not have known the extent of the regime’s misdemeanours, but since the fall of the king, the media have been very explicit in revealing much of it.

Yet, a fair fraction of those who voted for him probably know no better than the mantras he regularly chants. That is the danger in these people being able to influence public opinion in spite of the facts.

up their Axxx,, who supports and believes he has the right to talk of not being revengeful, revenge is integral ,it runs in The blood veins of The Rajapkshes.

One with the right mind can imagine what would have been the chain of events had he won the Presidential election, how much of lives would have been lost. regretfully ,I doubt The people in this Country who voted for Mahinda ever want a better nation even for their own children,
